Nintendo was very quick with fixing this one, but we can still talk about it. In general, what are your thoughts about shrooming? Did you use the exploit?

30:56 - With the update that fixed shrumping, Nintendo also updated the "About the Spotlight Shop" and It looks like some items will be introducing sale prices for the first purchase. If you haven't purchased any dupes via the shop, what sale price would you need to see to start buying dupes of items? I would expect it to be launched for real in next couple tours. Would be lovely if the prices are reasonable.

40:44 - Not sure if anyone else employs the stall and leave phone (drunk driving) to calm the bots. But there has certainly been a change. Some tracks continue to have full badged lobbies, no matter how many runs I do. Not a game changer for most. But has been my bread and butter for CB. Especially if dealing with tracks like DK Mountain. I have noticed that if you actually start to race them "properly" some badges will start to disappear and the bots do slow down to an extent. But nothing like before, where they moved at a snails pace. Anyone else seen this? Hope not just me.

46:45 - When considering a top 100 run what is a reasonable AC percentage to shoot for? 95% seems elite for this game. 90% seems difficult but attainable. Thoughts on what percentage for a gold pass player would be considered a realistic chance to get top 100?

In the last 6 months we have been hit with 3 "All City Tours". Metropolitan Tour (European), Anniversary Tour (Mixed), Autumn Tour (North American). Is this just a buff catch up on old City Tracks, or is it time to take City tracks more seriously?

Their start is much much better, so these eagle karts are doomed and probably end up like most of the MK2s?

Nintendo is clearly never going to cap them, and - for legacy accounts like mine - the spotlight shop has felt lackluster. With the introduction of the spotlight shop Nintendo is giving us every tour: not one but two new tracks, a new battle track and on top of that 1 or 2 new RT tracks (Shy Garden and Baby Park RT the upcoming tour). Is my goal of having at least decent (level 6 double uncapped) coverage still valid? So perhaps having decent coverage on EVERY track isnt necessary anymore?

Prior to 3.0, I would whale if the pack made sense for my coverage. Would pull pipes for the thrill of it. Now am sitting on 700 plus rubies and I am lost. Anyone else on this Island of Misfit Kart Toys? Whats everyones approach now? Spotlight new stuff only, spotlight dupes, Miis, or Coin Rush x10? (edited)

We're two tours into the new era and are just starting to wrap out heads around purchase and investment strategies within the new setup. The one thing I'm focusing on is this: the 4-tour gap between an item debuting and then later appearing as a Spotlight Shop item. During this time it is essentially locked in the vault. Will early Ranked value be emphasized during this window, or continue to peak 4 or 5 tours after debut, thus allowing players to purchase the item just as the time is right? For example, the Shielded Speedster will be available the tour after Autumn Tour, if pattern holds, so we might be able to catch its early value still. But what do you make of this 4-tour exclusivity period? How will they incentivize players to actually purchase new items, rather than wait 4 tours and see how they do?

Do you think this will have a big effect on battles, or are people too lazy to pull it off? 29:02 - Did you pull for King Mario? It seemed like the worst value (all city tracks) and hardest to acquire (non-spotlight with 15 options) but with pipes going away, so many pulled for him. Was Nintendo trying to make us hate pipes enough we would feel a “good riddance” to ruby pipe pulls or was this their last chance at the “cash grab” before the game moves to new markets (that had banned gacha games).

3.0.0. UPDATE:
59:10 - Regarding the “try again” option after update, it seems like Nintendo was trying to make boomboxing easier now. If you restart a race, you get the same lobby but with a different starting lineup. So imagine you have 2 coinbox bots in your lobby starting place 7th and 8th, you just finish a race, press try again and the two coinbox bots will be in different starting spots. You just finish a couple of race and your coinbox bots will be in spots 1 to 4. Will you boombox more often and/or invest more into boomerang drivers?

1:30:08 - How many cap tickets will it take to quad cap something? 15, 16, 20 or other (talks of a golden ticket earned in order to quad cap)

1:37:48 - Do you believe Miis will be able to be Quad Capped? There’s a group (mostly people who didn’t invest in Miis) that believe Nintendo will save the Meta by denying Mii suits the ability to be quad capped. Others (mostly people who didn’t invest in Miis) would wonder why Nintendo would turn their back on their beloved Mii Suits they’ve glorified all year (and the whales who invested in them) by rewarding the players who ignored the “hype”.

18:26 - "Mariokarted" is a term we use to describe when the the game decides to completely wreck our "perfect" runs at the worst absolute time. Such as blue shelled inches in front of finish line only to come in 4th. However, we have seen some really off the wall examples of being "Mariokarted", what is the worst MarioKarted runs that happened to you?

29:05 - Last VS Tour was Bowser Vs Peach. By the end of day 9 of that tour 2.65 Million tokens were collected. In comparison, players have collected 2.02 Million tokens in the current Mario Vs Luigi Tour which is about 31% lower than last tour. One could assume that would equate to a 31% percent loss in player base. Is the drastic changes to the game next tour be enough to blow wind in the games wings?

23:24 - Is removing the gacha a sign the game is on its last leg? Or are they trying to better their game in a last ditch effort to draw in new players? Or is it neither, simply an update part of Mario Kart Tour’s progression? What is going on?

41:14 - I’m having a very tough time figuring out where the game goes from here. Removing the gambling element from the game is huge for me. What actually separates this game from all the other racing games out there? Where’s the draw? They should’ve just made a different game and left tour alone.

52:13 - Not really a question, but I feel like a HE driver may be sold for around 75 rubies. When you spend 75 rubies thru coin rush, you get approx 12k coins, exactly the price of a HE driver ticket. Karts and Gliders then can you for 60 rubies. A full set comes out at 195 rubies. HEs from the regular pool should be slightly cheaper, say 60 and 50 respectively. Then you get 6 HEs for 355 which is less than 450, but this should in fact be the case as sometimes you get all HE before you empty the pipe Of course they can throw all kinds of exotic options in the mix, like get a discount for a dkg bundle, pair a new HE with an old regular pool HE, get a discount on first purchase, discount for GP players etc.

BATTLE MODE:
1:01:52 - With the upcoming MP update, is the battle mode hype still up? In MK8, the original battle mode was not played on battle courses, but rather on the default tracks. Is that a possibilty to solve the no-breaking issue? How else would they solve this issue? Or will they just add more ranks to MP, possibly with more rewards? Suits are thrown out every tour, maybe one for reaching highest rank?

MARIO VS LUIGI TOUR:
Of all new 2022 retro tracks is the one you are looking forward the least? Will N and R be hard to nonstop combo on the straight?

DRIVERS / MIIS:
1:09:57 - A part of me is wondering with all the Mii’s and plus skill characters if the thought process in the community needs to shift from the meta and focus more on overlap. There’s too much for 95% of players to invest into. Heck I’ve got Gold Egg Yoshi and silver Mii suit at L1, several other plus skill drivers at L4-5 I want to level up, plus now a new coinboxer! It’s too much.

1:17:15 - I love the Rundown, love the rankings. But what does it matter to me if someone shoots up into the Top 10 if at L7 double capped they’d only give me 4 new tracks. I know this is the function of the trackers, but I’m curious if anyone else feels that with the abundance of plus skills, including the Mii’s, relative to the quantity of HE tickets, if we need to start focusing much more on overlap and types of overlap

There was a similar situation in the Sundae Tour with only one driver, but several karts and gliders. Is this a result of the Miis taking over? Will we start to see even more karts and gliders opposed to less drivers, due to the Miis dominating the driver scene?

47:00 - How do you see the Mii drivers progressing? They don’t have the raw coverage but have the unpredictability of cup boosts and the built in base point advantage. While traditional plus skill drivers tend to have more coverage and an occasional cup boost. Should we only be investing in Mii drivers or will their day come and go much like a fad?

51:39 - What is the best way to grow an account that does not invest heavily in Mii suits? Is it foolish to do it that way? Can a top 1000/top 100/top 10 player expect to remain competitive without Mii suit investments?

1:13:33 - What is the thought process on the recent track selection where we have has the same tracks shoved down our throats the last 4 tours e.g. Coconut Mall, etc. Next tour looks to have a new variety of tracks, what are your thoughts on this trend?

1:20:03 - One consequence with getting a lot of the same tracks over and over (WS, KC, RMX VL, CM) is that items receive a lot less buffs and it takes longer before you can tell whether a new item is good for your account or not. Examples this tour: lightning streamliner (introduced 2 tours ago) not a single non-city buff and some items from last tour only got 1 non-city buff and in most cases an older track (DP, VL). How do you react to this?

1:23:05 - Do you gamble more with investing without knowing much about its future value or do you keep more items at level 1 longer (maybe 5 or 6 tours instead of 2 or 3)? How do you value the potential tracks something hasn’t seen yet vs established value?

The term filler tour really came around in year 2 when the game seemed to be spinning its wheels, revisiting old tracks or R/T variants with hardly any new content, and the use of the term has gotten out of hand. Just because we've been spoiled with + skill drivers, fests, and longer, more epic retro tracks doesn't mean that a "normal" tour is a filler tour. No matter how boring Baby Park is or even if its not perfect for MKT, its still a hall of fame retro track and it looks phenomenal. There was a time when even getting this track woulda been a huge deal. Sorry, got triggered there and had to call it out! :D

Meaning, those of us in the 70s tier wise who are struggling to get to Tier 80 will now be going up against people with the gold Mii suit in ranked, which will make placing in the top 3 that much harder (these are players already struggling to consistently get top 3 in ranked WITHOUT other having the gold Mii suit).

What if the Coin Box Mii suit is a way to actually help out players? I don't think there are as many people in the "Race To The Gold Mii Suit" as we think since only Whales, Dolphins, and VERY skilled folks are reaching Tier 80 on day 1. I feel, the Gold Mii Suit was supposed to be a goal obtained at some point and not something hit the first day it is available.

Do you think that Driver size should be added to Tabors rankings?
There are 3 sizes of drivers, Small (Gold Koopa), Medium (PGP), and Large (Meowser). A small driver has a 15% smaller hitbox than a medium driver, and a large driver has a 15% larger hitbox than a medium driver. Thats a 30% hitbox difference between small and large, which can easily be a few hundred points difference for a coinboxer. This also affects if you get 2 coins or not from the top of ramps, if you have a small driver in a small Kart you can even go in-between the coins.
If you think this should be incorporated, what weight should it hold? Should this only be applied to coinbox drivers or everyone?

Items are crucial, especially towards mid-way through lap 2, how are you going through the last two item boxes to make sure you win?

MVS (Most Valuable Super): Right now, Green Shy Guy is my highest ranked Super driver (#65) and is only 8 spots behind Mario Sunshine (#57, only HE GB driver). I am anticipating Yellow Toad PC to become the No 1 Super driver in the game and, after a few months of buffs and ranked use, the most valuable Giant Banana driver in the game.

Question: Do Super Drivers matter anymore, especially to money spenders? A maxed Super is Level 7, 975 points (less than a single capped HE). If a CoinBox super driver came out, would you pick that over a higher leveled HE with a worse skill? Does whales use Normal or Supers anymore or are they merely collector items?

For example I have a level 3 hiker Wario in ranked this week surrounded by new drivers at level 1. As of the Toad vs Toadette Tour, there are currently 134 drivers, 186 karts, 130 gliders in the game totalling 450 DKGs. There are also 259 courses (80 city, 179 noncity courses).
Question: With the sheer amount of items and courses in the game, how can new players join this game and not feel overwhelmed or behind? To me, the current state of this game is geared towards whales and/or day one players.
