Eureka Street Crypto Podcast: Recent Episodes

Eureka John

Take everything you think you know about crypto and poop it in the toilet. Shout between the stalls to your neighbor to show your support for their struggle. Light a match to cover up the Taco Bell token you bought earlier. Give a congratulatory hoot when you flush and finish. This is my anti-professional crypto channel. I‘m just a a barely sane dude who fell down the cryptocurrency rabbit hole. This channel is my fumbling attempt to communicate myself outside of my own head about my journey in the crypto space.

In this episode I bring back Magic Mike on the show since his last appearance 2.5 years ago on episode 201.

We speak about the evolution of meme coins into "culture coins". These projects have transcended memes and now have cultural utility and social impact. Mike is a part of the funny, or vulgar, depending on your perspective BAWLS ONU culture coin community built in the Avalanche blockchain ecosystem.

On the surface level, BAWLS ONU is about as mature as a middle school football team, but underneath the hood, BAWLS is building a community for fun, for memes, for gaming, and for social impact into men's health.

In this episode I speak with Devin Sawyer, one of the SciFi comic book series LegendsOfCypher.io. After a couple of decades in the banking industry, Devin went down the web3 rabbithole and found a world of opportunity to combine his passion for technology with his passion for SciFi and comics with a community of other web3 driven folks he met in a DAO.

The SciFi project Legends of Cypher creates a universe where Humanity faces a choice: a future where they are free to choose their own path — for good or ill — or the Centopoly, which offers its vision of peace and prosperity through the Metric. This is a modern play on the classic never-ending struggle between predestination and free-will.

This project is a culmination of two years of a collaboration between Devin, Crayons, and other web3 and SciFi dystopia enthusiasts who started with an idea and met consistently to build on this idea. It is now taking off into some amazing finished products with lots more coming.

You can participate and support this project by going to LegendsOfCypher.io and buying the comic books with traditional fiat money, or by buying the NFT which are a passport into the products and also in to many other perks now and into the future.

You can find the project on X (Twitter) at: @LegendsOfCypher

Good morning! Warning! This episode is pretty much a lLongwinded rant & ramble about the haters of the bDAO Arbitrum Proposal. I basically made this episode to help defend my BanklessDAO community against the hordes of numbskull crypto twitter haters who are criticizing the proposal some members of BanklessDAO made to the Arbitrum DAO. Artibutrum can either approve, deny, or approve with revisions. But that is their choice. Everything else is just noise. I am sure even some folks at BanklessDAO will be politely asking me to shut up after this vid saying "Thanks, but no thanks!". Lol

Good morning! In this episode I briefly cover a rough definition of the concepts behind decentralized ID. With the movement of our identities and lives into the digital space in the last 10 or so years, we have come to a fork in the road. Will all our info be centralized and as a result surveilled and controlled? Or are we doing to decentralize and make anonymous our information to maintain our sovereignty?

I define zk-proofs and then take a look at a project called Holonym.io that uses zk-proofs and a mixer to create an anonymous online digital passport.

In this episode I reflect on how journalism and web3 can get to know each other and the tools that journalists can use to apply web3 to the mass amounts of information being thrown at them.  Web3 can help journalists with:

  • Immutability
  • Transparency
  • New business models
  • Community ownership
  • Decentralization
  • Security / Trustless Communications

Please don't take me too seriously.  Do you own homework and see what works for you.  Also my opinions do not reflect the JournoDAO as a whole.  The JournoDAO is a diverse set of individuals, each with their own ideas and opinions.

Good morning! Lately I have seen alot of talk and hype about the Cult DAO and the REVOLT 2 EARN protocol. The way it was describe to be was as an anonymous decentralized venture capital project. I barely know what venture capitalism is and what those people do. I have never had the luxury of having enough money or being around people with enough money to even have a conversation about venture capitalism. So I basically ignored it. But when Revolt to Earn came through Cult DAO as a way to independently help finance revolutionaries in a decentralized way outside of an impending social credit system, I began to pay attention and stated to understand. In this episode I fumble through the website and read some of the material that explain the ideology behind it. I do not really go into the tokenomics or technical specifics of it as that would have taken another entire episode to cover. Maybe I will make a follow up episode in the future on that type of stuff. But I wanted to at least get the Cult DAO name out there and let people know that there are others out there who want to build an alternate system and economy outside of the system of slavery that the elites want us in through their CBDC and Great Reset.

Good morning! This morning I read an article written by Orca Protocol. The article defines and lays out the distinction between Socialware vs Trustware. This distinction brought a more philosophical question to mind for me. Are we trying to automate trust out of human organization? What will that mean for society? For our psyches? Is this automation of trust even good for us as humans? Is this another way that robots and AI are taking over our world rendering us helpless? As humans, do we NEED trust as part of life much like we need the seemingly valueless and impractical concept of beauty? I know the article was leading to a conversation about efficiency in DAOs but for me, it took me down a philosophical rabbit hole or questions about our very existence.

Good morning! This morning I explore the concept of data ownership and biometric data that is gathered to create inferred knowledge. We are at the point where biometric passive data is being gathered in massive volume. All of this data is being processed by AI and machine learning algorithms. Inside these neural networks, even our best and brightest do not know what is going on inside the "brain" of AI. We just know the outcome is true. To me, this seems to bring us back full circle in the old faith vs science debate. We also are being conned into just giving away our data and, in essence, our souls and personalities to tech behemoths who are making billions from us while we get nothing except the ability to browse social media or play some stupid phone game in exchange. It's time to take back that data ownership, make money from our data if we would like and decide who gets to buy that data. All of this and more is what the folks at Re-Public.io are doing. Make data a common good again. Or in other words make data "Re-Public"!

Good morning! I woke up this morning to all types of news about Tornado Cash being criminalized in the United States. Tornado Cash is a tool people in crypto can use to mix their transactions with others to add a layer of privacy to their financial dealings. People should have every right to this privacy much like people in the 90's had every right to privacy on their computers when the government was trying to impose a clipper chip back door on everyone's PC's. Also, Tornado Cash is decentralized and open source. Open source code is free speech! The U.S. government decided to crack down on the privacy Tornado Cash offers as a tool. They have created a list of people who have used or use it to monitor them and penalize anyone who interacts with those on the list. Sounds a bit like like Big Red Mother Russia, right? Also, there are companies like Elliptic that can do chainalysis and uncover the trail of would-be hackers using Tornado Cash. So this isn't really about Tornado Cash, is it? Tornado Cash as a tool for money laundering is just the reason (excuse) to chew away further our dwindling rights to privacy.

In this video I follow a stream of consciousness about this topic.

Good morning! This Saturday morning I reflect on why people, and often times even myself, can't stand crypto and web3. From rug pulls to bad user experience (UX) design, it seems like we have taken a step back in the name of lofty philosophical ideals of independence and financial autonomy. Web 2 is soooooo easy! But convenience is the tool of those who want total control and power. So how do we get around the difficulty that web3 and the desire for sovereignty bring us? This difficulty has let in the grifters and scammers to prey on those who are having difficulty learning the web3 language and interface. Well, first of all, we need to call it out and admit that we are chasing people away and turning people off with our smug commands to DYOR (do your own research)! After that, we need to figure out how we can make it so ANYONE can use web3. The steps are being laid and the article I read in the 2nd half by Samantha J. Marin of Bankless DAO states the problem and solution in the most accurate way I can think of. Thanks Samantha!

Good morning! After rambling and beign side-track by the Island Boyz token project for a bit, (fast-forward to 10:00 min mark) I do a little DIY run-through of new L1 AI-driven blockchain called Libonomy ($LBY). This layer one blockchain uses a consensus engine called Aphelion that is driven by artificial intelligence and machine learning. The AI accepts nodes into the network, surveys the characteristics of the node and assigns them the most well-suited job inside the consensus network. This Aphelion consensus engine can be plugged into just about any blockchain. It's use in Libonomy is the first of its kind. This show is by far not a comprehensive look at Libonomy and Aphelion, but it is at least a start to get the word in your vocabulary and a place from which you can start your own research.

Good morning!  This morning is a short, and easy episode.  I mainly just wanted to test out a new audio configuration.  I have been trying to troubleshoot the audio issue in the past several episodes and I finally think I got it all fixed.  Anyway, this episode is about the old fake file extension scam/virus.  This is a scam/virus that names a file a .pdf fil in the file name, but in reality the file is a .exe fil or .scr file.  This was a common trojan horse virus method several years ago.  It is now making a resurgence with artists and content creators entering into the web3 space.  Be careful about people sending you zip files or pdf files to show you their portfolio, slide show, branding guidelines, etc...  Even if you know the person, ask if they have opened the file on their machine and where they got the file.

Good morning! This morning I go over a report by Trail of Bits commissioned by DARPA to look for vulnerabilities in crypto, specifically Bitcoin and Ethereum. A friend of mine brought this Trail of Bits podcast to my attention that talks about this report and the findings that Bitcoin and Ethereum are not as nearly decentralized as their communities claim them to be and go on to state lots of reasons why. I was a bit concerned as the podcast and the article did indeed work on me. However, I went on to find a counter-article by Swan Bitcoin that brought to light the incorrect and misleading claims made by Trail of Bits. I have it all linked below and I will let you decide. But I will ask you, who has the greater motive for crypto to be found incompetent? It ain't the crypto community.

Good morning! This morning is all about Mt Gox. Apparently the entities behind the Mt Gox hack implosion settlement have announced that they will be releasing 150k BTC onto the market beginning in August. What does this mean for BTC and the market? Is this a Black Swan event or a buying opportunity? But first of all, what is Mt Gox? The crypto world has a ton of internal jargon and significant events that have happened that no one else really knows about and when we talk about it, it can be hard for outsiders to understand. So in this episode I give a brief history and definition of Mt Gox.

Good morning!  In this episode I end up talking alot about 0xSifu and how he was welcomed back to the Wonderland community after being expelled several months ago.  Not only was he welcomed back, but he got a proposal passed to pump $25 million into his project Sifu Vision that he launched while in exile.  Sifu Vision uses the $SIFU token to track the portfolio of 0xSifu.  There's not much more to it.  Regardless of the past of 0xSifu, he knows how to make money, so those who trust in this will buy the SIFU token.  It appears that Wonderland community has trust in this as well.

Good morning! This morning I explore a meme I found on LinkedIn that showed a Venn Diagram composed of web3, crypto, and blockchain. The meme was meant to visualize the three separate entities that are yet blended together. A holy trinity of sorts. With people making distinctions between web3 and web 3.0, I thought this meme was interesting; especially when you throw AI and iOT in there. I would be interested to hear your thoughts on these things!

Good morning! This morning I woke up at 5:30 am with the burning desire to explain the differences between web3 and web 3.0 and some of the history and function of both (said noone ever). Well that's exactly what I do in this episode, except it is not some organized survey of both. It is, rather, a crash-up-derby of an event with topics, questions, and answers all over the place. Have fun listening and making sense of it all!

Good morning! This episode ended up being mainly about Coinbase. Goldman Sachs slapped a "Sell" rating on $COIN. Is Coinbase doomed to slide into insolvency with this downward crypto draft we are having? Is all of this manipulated by the institutional investors to kick out the amateurs and bring in the big players with regulatory certainty? Will Goldman Sachs knock down the price of Coinbase and come in an come in and scoop it up cheaply later? Binance seems to be gaining BTC activity while Coinbase is proportionally losing it. Coinbase seems to be in big trouble. However...

Mastercard has just adopted crypto into it's system and is calling Coinbase the place "designed to make crypto more accessible and help the NFT ecosystem keep growing, innovating and bringing in more fans."

So which one is it? What are your thoughts? Either way, now is not the time to be letting your money sit on centralized exchanges. Get your crypto off exchanges and into private wallets!

Good morning! This morning I go through a CryptoSlate article that coevrs the current issue of Bancor freezing their impermanent loss protection service. This service, along with their tempting rewards are why many people jumped participating into Bancor's DEX LP's in the first place. Two of these participants are most likeley Celsius and 3AC who are going through a death spiral themselves. Their death spiral is possibly causing havoc on Bancor's liquidity along with an anonymous large shorter of the BNT token. Bancor is shutting off deposits and pausing impermanent loss protection while they strategize how to best resolve the situation. Is this all a shell game or an honest and ethical pause? You decide for yourself!

****Note: I said Ford S10. I meant Chevy S10! But I think you got the idea hopefully.

Good morning! First up until the 12:00 minute mark, listen to me ramble on about Celsius and how they are being investigated. I received an e-mail from the Texas State Securities Board asking me to complete a survey on my dealings with Celsius. Sounds like they are in hot water. I hope I am not. Probably not, but hey, something to consider. Good morning! This morning I speak about voting in DAOs. DAOs have notoriously low participation in voting as well as people that just speculate on the governance tokens. This has been an issue lots of communities have been trying to solve. This issue even applies to the large-scale apathy we see in our nation-wide voting today. In this episode I go over a prototype of a voting system being developed by Re-Public.io. The idea is that a DAO gives the members voting tokens that are non-transferable soulbound tokens. In order to claim these tokens, they must be delegated. What makes it original, is that on top of needing to be delegated, you can delegated to someone based on proposal topic and to a person who specializes in that topic category. For example, if I know Keith is good at software development, and a proposal is about a a proposed software upgrade, I am going to delegate my votes to Keith on that proposal because I don't know jack squat about software.

Hopefully this type of liquid democracy can wrangle people from apathy or just speculation back into the voting process.

Good morning!  Normally, I don't pay attention to what's going on with the Tron ecosystem and especially not the USDD decentralized stablecoin.  In fact, I had never even heard of it until a few days ago.  But with all the fear whipped up from the collapse of the Terra ecosystem, there are now rumors that Tron could do the same thing.  I saw the Tron TKN token jump to #13 in the market-cap rankings and it piqued my curiosity.  So here I am beating the Tron bush for some news and seeing what will fly out at me.

Good morning! In this episode I take a gander at Gitcoin Grants and a couple of projects I donated to using a concept called quadratic funding. It is a way to donate to make sure that everyone's vote/donation matters. There is more weight put on the amount of different people donating to a project than one large donor. This way, large donors are not able to manipulate outcomes just because they have to cash power. There is a pool of funds donated by larger organizations that match individual contributors. when lots of little contributors donate a little bit to a project, that project receives more of the pool funds than if one single large rich and powerful contributor put in one large donation. It is a cool way to make doing a little turn out to be alot.

This is the third video in partnership with OpenCurrnt.io. I this video I go over what knowledge sharing is and some of the basics and differences of the web 2.0 social media algorithms vs the newer web3 approach. Web3 solves the contributor rewards issue, the centralization issue, and give the user the opportunity for governance on the platform. Web 2.0 just gathers your data and curates your data based on emotive response to capture your attention and then sell that attention to advertisers. OpenCurrnt.io is seeking to fix all of these issues.

Good morning!  This morning I read an article by Vitalik Buterin where he explores the concept, use cases and issues of soul bound tokens.  I completely love the idea of being able to hold your college transcripts and degrees in your wallet as a non-transferable NFT.  I love that the issuer does not retain permanent control over that data.  However, there needs to be privacy a burning mechanism by the owner of the NFT.  Otherwise, the soulbound token could have deep dystopian implications.

In this episode I interview Tom O'Malley, Founder of OpenCurrnt.io and CEO of Currnt.com. Here we discuss the knowledge gap and how to close it using web 3.0. An example of the knowledge gap is the disparity between the traditional institutions and the ground level of innovation that happens with everyday people in the online communities. How do you tap into the info that some person in an online community knows and be able to curate that knowledge to be used for product development and market research? Web 3.0 allows the creators of that knowledge to be able to share while still owning their ideas. OpenCurrnt.io is creating a platform to be able to facilitate this knowledge-sharing economy by allowing innovators to form DAOs and tokenize their ideas. In this interview Tom explains this very well.

Good morning! The whole subject of Celsius Network now only allowing accredited investors to earn on their platform has led me down a rabbit hole of ways the wealthy establishment perpetuate systematic financial discrimination and exclusion. This ends up driving those without the means to be "accredited investors" who would love to move upwardly financially into bubble frenzies and risky bucket-shop like projects and activities where they end up being further manipulated and oppressed. It has been truly fascinating to read about all the way people try to move upwards and the way that those established work to keep them down.

Good morning! If you wanna get to the part where I talk about all the bonds and stuff you can skip to about 12:40 mark (yes, I rambled on that long). I look at the basics of bonds, interest rates, yield curves, inflation, and how it all relates to crypto.

Good morning!  This morning I do my usual rambling bit at the beginning and then I go poking around the very useful tool IO discovered called dexscreener.com.  This is a tool that lists all pair on tons of DEXs and blockchains and ranks them.  It Could give a person hours of informative entertainment.   Then, I zero in on Zero Money.  I don't know much about this new protocol, but it is funny.  They take all the assumptions about what a crypto project and DAO should want to be and does the opposite.  The are a completely centralized, dictatorship.  Holding the token does nothing but loses value, and there is zero team allocation.  I went and claimed my Zero token to see what will happen.  You can go get your too until April 9, 2022.  For what? I dunno.

Good morning!  In this episode I rant a bit as I talk about Ripple donating money Greenpeace to lobby to try to change Bitcoin's code.  Regardless of what I think about proof of work vs proof of stake (I like both), it is impossible to just throw money at Bitcoin and tell some people to "just change it".  They clearly do not understand how Bitcoin works and how it was designed specifically to counteract this type of activity.  So there is a $5 million donation to Greenpeace that could be used to help fight real pollution just going down the drain.  What a waste.  Anyway, when you watch this video, you will know where I stand.  I don't hate the Earth and I am not a wasteful person.  I just believe everyone should have financial freedom and autonomy from the corner of slavery we are being pushed into by the WEF using climate change as their mascot.

I got the pleasure of having Nutellalicka on my show for an interview to talk about his crypto career and how he came to found Tokel.io. Tokel is an NFT and Token generation platform built in the Komodo ecosystem. I spend some time getting to know Nutellalicka and then talk about some of the philosophies and features of the Token platform. This is a very high level and light-hearted interview for people wanting an airbrushed look at what Tokel. I appreciate Nutellalicka humoring my most amateur of questions at times!

What is Tokel?

Create build and trade NFT. Tokenize your business on the Tokel chain. Tokel Platform reaps the benefits of tokenization or the use of a tokenization or the use of a token economic model. Create equity based tokens, security tokens, debt issuance tokens or asset backed tokens. Other token use cases include charities looking to tokenize and utilize a public ledger for donations, crowdfunding organizations, as well as video game development projects looking to capitalize on token economics or gamifying NFT's.

Good morning!  I have been doing alot of experimenting with my audio and visual.  This show is my sandbox to test things out, so you may notice lots of technical difficulties.  This morning was one of those mornings where I had alot of technical difficulties, so I patched together what I could.  This show is all about imperfection and the learning process and I am trying to demonstrate what real people go through when trying to make a production.  The stuff you see on TV is all manufactured by lots of people.  So when you begin to think TV is reality, think again.  My shows try to demonstrate the actual reality.  This morning I meditate on Moloch and DAOs for the most part.

Good morning! There is so much packed into this episode. Dolly Parton dropped her new NFT album and poster at the SXSW Austin City Limits show. This is the first album of 48 album drop that are including an NFT and blockchain technology. I start off by exploring her NFT. Then I go into the tech behind this NFT using Eluv.io and the Content Fabric Blockchain. Then I find many similarities between Eluvio and Theta Network and I am now beginning to tie them together. Are Theta Network and Eluvio in competition or cooperation? If this is cooperation, it seems extremely bullish for Theta holders!

Good morning! After some introductory banter, I talk about web 3.0 and how it is not exactly centralized. There is still quite a bit of centralization left over in "decentralized" web 3.0 platforms. Do we really need another layer 1 blockchain? CUDOS says yes! That is because we do not need to think of these blockchains as competing, but as complementing each others in much the same way that cities all have their own unique characteristics and cultures. CUDOS takes up the mission of decentralizing cloud computing as it's main mission.

Good morning! This morning I mull over some topics that have been on my mind lately. Namely censorship. I have been learning more and more about the hierarchy of Ethereum, Metamask, and Infura and how this relates to censorship. We recently see Venezuela being censored to using MetaMask due to local regulations. Infura and Metamask are both pointing the finger at each other. What this does is opens up a slippery-slope to censorship and being anti-censorship is what crypto is supposed to be about. I try my best to explain this issue so you (and me) can better understand what is going on.

What is the price we will put on our privacy? Once we own and control our data, we can make the terms and set the price on who uses our data and how they use it. The data economy in inevitable. He is allowing growers, researchers, and anyone to be able to upload their cannabis data to the open source, decentralized, data marketplace on the blockchain to help people be able to share and monetize their data.  He has created Cannabis Genomes DAO which has a gathering place in discord for all like-minded people to gather, share information and foster community.  There is much more to cannabis than what you see portrayed in comedies and Elija really brings the benefits to light.  This was a great interivew!

Are the common people just too stupid as the decision makers have been gaslighting us to think? No. we can and should have control over the monetary policy of our own resources and communities.

Good morning! This morning I say happy birthday to my Dad who has inspired me to take risks, take the hits and always get back up on my feet. I am inspired to always explore the new stuff out there and the whole paradigm shift in blockchain happening from monolithic to modular is happening right now during this "terrible bearish market" action we are having right now. Everyone is so focused on price that people seem to be oblivious to this amazing technology being made right now. I take a look at a project called Celestia that is using the modular approach from the beginning for it's blockchain design. I am obviously not a pro or an authority, but I try my best to summarize it for you. Please read the article below about it! I don't do it justice.

Good morning! This morning I rant about the news of Elon Musk challenging Mickey D's to take Dogecoin as it's currency. I am sure it would be just as substantial as it's burgers. Then I remember that Vitalik is joining Doge as an advisor and that one of the Doge founders Billy Markus is rejoining the project. Will Doge become legit? Who knows? Maybe so with Blackrock now entering the crypto space with it's filing for a blockchain/Bitcoin focused ETF coming into the space. Is this a good thing or bad thing?

Good morning! Just like the title says, lots of rambling. It's what I do. I wake up and speculate on the market, on life, on technology, on people. I spout off uneducated and biased opinions. But hey, at least I have questions and don't just jump off the cliff like the rest of the lemmings. In this episode I guess I would say the main subject matter is Ethereum and the the Merge. The Ethereum Foundation does not want people to use the terminology ETH1 & ETH2, but to instead use execution and consensus layer. They want this for several reasons. The most clear to me is scam prevention!

Good morning! This morning I kick off the day with lots of questions about crypto mining, the climate crisis, energy usage, and the new movements such as regenerative finance that are popping up to try to work on these things. I am doing lots of research trying to figure out where I stand on all of this stuff and I don't know yet, so bear with me. Also, I found that TIME magazine is jumping into the web 3.0 game on it's website. At least is the NFT game selling their "TIME pieces".

Good morning! I spend this morning talking mostly about Coinbase. I start with an overview of Coinbase and the difference between Coinbase exchange, Coinbase PRO and Coinbase Wallet. Then I get into an article I found that was retweeted by Jack Dorsey that talks about how the VC-backed coins that get listed on Coinbase have actually performed terribly against Bitcoin and Ethereum. Many people think a project has "made it" when it gets listed on Coinbase, but the author seems to prove that this is not the case. Anyway, alot of people say web 3.0 is for giving "the little man" a chance, but it actually is seeming to cause problems for the liquidity of Bitcoin, as the amount of little men that web 3.0 is actually freeing is pretty insignificant. Interesting thesis. Sorry it took a really long time to get to the point in this video

Good morning! Remember that quadratic formula you were forced to memorize in high school? It's ok, most people don't either. But finally you can start to see why it may have ben important. With our voting and funding system geared towards the rich and powerful, this little farmer's formula is the key to democratizing voting and funding of public goods and I'm going to try to mansplain it for you. Gitcoin Grants is also using this formula to help fund public goods as well.

Good morning! This morning I play a couple of clips from Crypto Sapiens podcast in Humpty's interview with the founders of Genomes DAO. Like Ancestry.com and 23andme.com, GenomesDAO provides a service to analyze your genetic information to give you fun, useful, and interesting data about yourself through your genome data. However, unlike the other two, GenomesDAO give you a vault all your own to store and provide access to whoever you want to have that data. You can earn GENE token through the allowance of access or you can keep it all to yourself. Your data, your choice! Good morning! This morning I start off with a thread by Leah Wald, who makes some comparisons between the bear market cycle of 2018 and the current market dip we are in. Alot of this comparison made me want to take it way back to 1993 and go back to the original reason we are all here in this crypto space. This space started because of people's desire for privacy in this digital space. As technology develops and becomes more powerful, so do the powers that govern. The cypherpunks worked hard to try to develop technology to preserve the freedoms and privacy of every individual in this digitization of reality. NFT's and the metaverse are cool and all, but what good is it if we have zero privacy or freedom. So I did a reading of The Cypherpunk Manifesto.

Good morning! This morning I decided to poke around in the Oasis. I have been hearing people mention to me that I should check out Oasis. So I decided to go ahead an give it a gander this morning and see what's up with it. Oasis features a modular style proof-of-stake blockchain that has TEE's (trusted execution environment) built in for privacy. In this increasingly surveilled metaverse that is developing around us, I am all for more privacy. I also like the modular aspect of the blockchain using Paratime layers for execution. Good morning! This morning I read an article that talks about French Bank Societe Generale using DeFi protocol MakerDAO to take out a $20 million loan. This may not seem like much for a bank, but the fact that a TradFi bank is using DeFi for the first time is huge. Good morning! This morning I read a couple of articles about about Samsung incorporating an NFT marketplace into their new TVs. This coincidentally happens to come just after Theta CEO Mitch Liu happened to make a trip to Samsung in Korea to talk about NFTs with them. I am not trying to overdose on Theta hopium, but it all sounds very interesting. Then, I dig into the new EIP-2981 NFT standard that bakes in royalty payments at the protocol level. To be honest, I thought it was already baked in the ERC-721 token, but I guess I did not understand it fully. The royalty payments have been taken care of at the marketplace platform level. So if an NFT was created on one platform and sold on another, then the royalty may not apply.

Good morning, again! I did a double-header this morning and did an interview with Jameswmontgomer.eth and Ivanlozada.eth. They are both fellow BanklessDAO members. They have been working non-stop developing a "Gov-Bot" that will help to automate governance in DAOs. This bot will start out automating the process for role elections. In Discord, and in DAOs in general, this process can be cumbersome and centralized. This bot is a great start at putting more of the "Autonomous" in Decentralized Autonomous Organizations. Great conversation!

Good morning! This morning I start off 2022 by minting a breadstick! Never forget to have fun in the crypto space! That is why I got into it in the first place. I came across a spoof account that allows anyone to buy an "Olive Garden" branch franchise NFT. You can even mint the unlimited breadsticks that come with soup and salad. Almost every American has an Olive Garden in their suburb and grew up to associate that with Italian food. It is no wonder that these mock franchises are now selling for up to 10 ETH! However, the real parent company of Olive Garden (Darden Restaurants) is firing back with a cease and desist letter to Open Seas Legal team. Non-Fungible Olive Garden has sent a letter back to appeal to Darden Restaurants to "...discuss this like family over a plate of Ziti Al Forno..." at an Olive Garden of their choosing. Somehow, I don't think the old folks at Darden are going to really understand the concept of the NFT images being unable to take down from the blockchain! Good luck to the lawyer having to explain that!

Good morning! Happy New Years Eve! This morning I reflect on what open source and being decentralize means in the context of safety, security, and data ownership. How does this relate to the social graph? Is 2022 the year for the Digital ID? What does this mean? Will it bring us all under enslavement? Or will it free us from the centralized web 2.0 tech overlords and allow us to own our own data? I lean towards personal freedom and no top down control, however, I try not to get too carried away and leave my mind open for technological innovation. This show is all about learning and questions. I ask lot of them in this episode.

Good morning! The day before yesterday I received another air drop! I got an airdrop of $GAS tokens! Although the amount I received cost just as much gas to claim them, I was still stoked. I am stoked to see what this GAS DAO and these $GAS tokens will be doing. They will be giving the most active Ethereum users and developers a voice in the EIP proposals, they will be going towards a revision of Open Zeppelin that will work towards making revisions that will reduce gas in the smart contract code. They will be making cool PFP NFT's, and they will bring in GAS refunds on staking. Overall, I like to see good advancements like this. Of course they are adjusting as they go along, but that is humanity. Then, I go into the Decrypt article covering the 5 most impressive altcoins of 2021. Good list in my perspective!

Good morning! This morning I talk about some of the harsh realities in the crypto space. We love the freedom. We love the bounty and seemingly free flow of money and opportunity at times. However it all comes at ta risk. There is a lot of personal responsibility and accountability that comes with that freedom and opportunity. I came across a confession from an anon on crypto-Twitter about how he/she got snagged in a honeypot scam. This person does not seem to be an amateur, so if they can get lured, so can you. Good morning! This morning I take you down to Avalanche. Crystalvale will be a new DeFi Kingdom opening up in the AVAX world. In anticipation I moved some crypto-assets over to Avalanche and bought some Jewel token to set up shop and add some Jewel/AVAX liquidity to the DEX pools in Pangolin. I found that t he two major DEX's on Avalanche are Trader Joe and Pangolin. I read an article that compares them just to learn a little bit more about them. Good morning! Some crypto friends yesterday told me about DeFi Kingdoms and I thought that I should go give it a look as the way they described it, it sounds like a really fun and profitable Play-2-Earn game in the GameFi world. I went to the website to give it a look and realized that it was on the Harmony One blockchan. I was like "Oh man. another blockchain rabbit hole to go down." So I started looking up some Harmony fundamentals and how to bridge to Harmony. I did not want to use a centralized exchange like Binance or Crypto.com and transfer my dollars into the crypto space because I am low on cash, so I wanted to figure out a way to transfer some WETH I had on Polygon to Harmony. It took me on a quest. Or in more modern terms, in a superhighway interchange spaghetti bowl.

Here was my sequence of actions:

1) Swap WETH to WONE on Quickswap

2) Use RelayChain.com to bridge WONE from Polygon to Harmony

3) Use SushiSwap to Unwrap WONE to ONE on the Harmony blockchain.

It took alot of trial and error to figure this out by trying Multichain.org, Anyswap.exchange, bridge.harmony.com On top of that, I had to end up buying a little bit of ONE token on crypto.com because I did not have any Harmony in my wallet to do the swap from WONE to ONE in SushiSwap, and I could not find a faucet I trusted.

So in the end, I never got to play DeFi Kingdom in this episode. I will save that for tomorrow on Christmas. It was an interesting road getting there though!

Good morning! I spend alot of time on Crypto Twitter. It is a double-edged sword, but you can learn alot of amazing things and meet some really cool people. One of these people is IDEX Intern who has been watching my little show for a while now. He has always been a strong supporter and given me some cool tips and insights. He has been going under another Twitter account, but recently got hired by IDEX Exchange where he is working in their Marketing dept. He was nice enough to come on the show and banter with me for over an hour about tons of different topics.

Good morning! This morning I bring up a topic that has been on my mind. Does the future include multiple layer 1 blockchains? Or will one blockchain rule them all? Many ETH maxis will tell you that Ethereum will be the base-layer for all of crypto and that the world will run on a variety of layer 2 solutions. They say that all the other layer 1 "monolithic" blockchains will fall to their doom. However, at the same time, you see lots of dapps like Aave using any blockchain that has sufficient liquidity and reaping handsome rewards for being open-minded to many other blockchain solutions. Which perspective will be the victor in the end?

Good morning! As the title says, Ooga ooga! I aped in on Dope Wars PAPER and the Infinite Machine Movie NFT collection. I finally found a P2E game I think I will actually play. With 8-bit LoFi versions of all my favorite 90's rap playing through the WinAmp player, I browse through the DopeWars.gg website and see that I can get all the OG computer game radness without Mom picking up the phone from the other room and ruining my 12 hour download. This p2E is built on Ethereum and Starkware! The first of it's kind! Then, I move on to The Infinite Machine Movie collection. Finally, Ethereum history has made it to the big silver screen. They are funding their movie in true Ethereum form as well by the sale of the limited edition NFT. These NFT's will let you be interactive and participate in the movie. It also lets the fans get directly involved and support their favorite projects and have some sense of ownership in the project's success.

Good morning! This morning I start out looking at the newly updated TXStreet.org website. This website has always been one of my favorite visualization tools for crypto and the current crypto traffic. It is a great teaching tool as well to help people visualize blocks, gas, and why fees are sometimes high. Then, I start asking myself questions and coming up with theories that I know nothing about and end up on some website that talks about how crypto is and should be reported in company financials. First off, I know NOTHING about accounting, so I don't know how I ended up on this website or topic. Second, I don't know who Foot Noted Analyst is and I did not like their conclusion. But hey, what do I know? This is exactly the point of this show; to stumble on random stuff and the audience goes on this unpredictable ride with me.

Good morning! I had a hard time yesterday explaining bonding curves and donation systems that I decided to use yesterday as a shaky foundation and build on it some more. In this episode I review the concept of bonding curves and then go into augmented bonding curves and how the Token Engineering Commons and the Commons Stack come into play with all this. Basically the Token Engineering Commons and the Commons Stack help communities build blockchain donation and governance systems that will help communities directly address the specific needs and interests of any particular community instead of having to rely on some gigantic corporate or govt endorsed charity to come in at a snails pace to try to solve a local organizations issues. TEC and Commons Stack are the tools that allow this to happen.

Good morning! This morning I verbally fumble with some new concepts of donating I have never heard before. When you donate to the grocery store clerk, that money just basically disappears. But what if it didn't? What if it became an actual investment and you got to see the change first hand? With the blockchain these previously conceptual ideas become an objective reality. I try my hardest to articulate the concepts of bonding curves which leads to augmented bonding curves. I did not get to augmented bonding curves yet as I was struggling trying to visualize what just bonding curves are. But I will make it to augmented bonding curves. This video is me trying to do my homework.

Good morning! Somehow I manage to fly over entire rabbit hole worlds of topics this morning as I talk about everything from what DeFi 2.0 is, to a bunch of various different OHM forks on various blockchains, to getting into Fantom and talking about Hashgraph, Lachesis, DAGs, aBFT, and then I spend a little time reading comments comparing Hedera Hashgraph and Fantom. Good morning! I got a little bit on a rant this morning talking about grifters. When you first approach the crypto world, you may be overwhelmed by all the different opinions and way to approach it. Whether it be by mining, trading, DeFi, DAO, NFTs, or Metaverse Gaming. There seems to be something for everyone. However, there are always grifters and scammers that come around and try to take advantage of those new people. They pose as professionals and usually try to present some simple easy, but unknown projects, tokens, NFTs or steps that will give you advantage. All you have to do is buy a seat at their conference (online or in person), or buy their book, or subscribe, or whatever. There are, thankfully, good people out there in the crypto-Twitter space and beyond that want to help you find your niche. I look at 5 ways to make it without technical skillz in this space written by Coopahtroopah. If you know of some good web 3 related tweet threads turn them in to Chair @vrycmfy

Howdy folks! I just got off the horn with pseudo-anon Chair from NFTP.fun aka: Rainbow Rolls. Rainbow Rolls is a project that has highjacked the degenerate and debaucherous NFT movement where people are dropping insane amounts of money on jpegs for clout and speculation. Rainbow Rolls is turning that movement on it's head by incorporating the potty jokes that we all love and using the proceeds from the NFT sales to go toward public goods like wiping away medical debt. Rainbow rolls see themselves as De-Flusionary ASS-ets that are a fun way to help others. NFT's and and the blockchain are opening up an entire new world for the non-profit space and poroviding much needed transparency and access for smaller non-profits to get funding without tons of middlemen. Later in the interview we start to drift towards some of Chair's favorite NFT projects and games along Aavegotchi talk. Who knows? Maybe there is some alpha there for NFTP.fun! It was a fun interview until his cat crashed the party and needed it's kinship leveled up.

Good morning! This morning I begin by talking about some of the latest MGH DAO developments regarding staking. Staking on Polygon has been available for a week, and now staking on Ethereum is becoming available! I talk a bit about MGH DAO and why I am attracted to it. Then, I go into some of the legal questions surrounding the creation of a metaverse as a whole as this subject is really fascinating to me. We all collect data as info. What happens when that data becomes currency? How and by who is that data collected? What are we allowed to do with it? Can we live and eat with that data? Who is allowed to create and own that data in metaverse? Who owns the data created by AI bots/NFTs in the metaverse? What are the overarching governance/engineering mechanism in the metaverse? How is this regulated? So many questions. For those fearful of a metaverse Matrix-style dystopia, don't worry, we are still far away from being trapped in pods and fed through a tube. Good morning! This morning I present a straight up variety show. I start off with a scam alert that actually had me convinced for a second early this morning. It was in Discord as an imposter pretending to be announcing a Hop Protocol airdrop. They are getting clever folks and they keep up with the current news and trends. Watch out! Then I talk for a while about the Song A Day DAO and Jonathan Mann with his Song a Day project. I love the idea of this project. It hits close to home for me. Go take a look at the link below and join the DAO if you feel moved by it. Then I talk about how Facebook just took an Instagram handle from someone because, well, they can. Good morning! This morning is a bit rushed as I overslept but I wanted to get something done for the day. I take quick looks at GALA and DESO. GALA is a decentralized blockchain gaming platform that I have seen jump the ranks on Coin Gecko lately. I did ape in and buy some. Let's see where this one goes. It seems to have some good content and good partners and there is lots of hype around it, so let's see what happens. Then there is DESO. I was wondering what happened to all the hype around BitClout from last March. Well, now I know. The Founder "Diamondhands" has come out from being anon and seems like he wants to move past BitClout calling it an experiment and move forward with decentralized social media using the blockchain technology underneath BitClout to create an assortment of open source decentralized apps that sit on top on the DESO blockchain. I am hopeful for them as I would love to see someone topple the current web 2.0 social media giants. Good morning! This morning I start out slow, but things begin to heat up when I play the Bankless HQ video I did a double-take on yesterday. I heard David from Bankless reading a Tweet from Jack Niewold that absolutely rails on Cardano and calling it nothing more than a Ponzi Scam. Jack, and David, I think, bring up many valid points. I have also had some negative experiences with Cardano and it is not on the top of my preferred blockchains. However, to be fair, there are alot of great people in the Cardano community. I think Ethereum, Cardano and many other blockchains, share in the mission to help people circumvent the current banking and credit system to allow the average person financial freedom and to use financial tools only designated for the wealthy. I highlight a cool project from the Cardano community that seeks to bridge the divide between the communities through some pretty rad NFTs.

Good morning! Why am I this alive and excited at 5:34 in the morning? I have no idea. I was given the opportunity to interview two people deep in the decentralized digital identity world. Many people are not knowledgeable or concerned about what digital ID and ownership of personal data brings. Or, they may bring their set-in-stone pre-conceived notions and beliefs about digital ID being used for surveillance and/or enslavement. This eye-opening interview took many of the bits and pieces I knew about decentralized ID and reputations systems and put them together for me in a cohesive whole. We are entering into an inevitable digital world, it is up to us to protect our data and our sovereignty over that data. Good morning! I started this episode with absolutely no plan and wanted to see where it would take me. I landed on web 3 music, art , and NFTs. There is alot happening in this space right now and I am barely scratching the surface. I read a post by n1k.eth on the gm.xyz web 3 social media platform about fans being rewarded for early artist discovery through NFTs, which leads me to some tangent about being at an early Marilyn Manson show back in 1994. Then I look at Mike Shinoda's web 3 music NFT project called Ziggurats. I am not a fan of Linkin Park, but this project looks amazing! It is on the Tezos blockchain, where I see lots of really good artists flocking to nowadays that the Ethereum blockchain costs too much.

Good morning! This morning I do a little rundown of Abracadabra Money to try to help myself and hopefully you, understand what Abracadabra.Money is and does. Good morning! Crypto is a weird space. It is growing and expanding and there is tons of uncertainty. I try to keep an open mind, laugh, have fun, and at the same time be aware of the risks involved and the scams out there. The first half of the video is fun and focused on CryptoTittiesNFT.com. It is an NFT project that give a large percentage of the proceeds to breast cancer research. Then, I go in for a reality check and look at the recent BadgerDAO hack where $120,000 million was stolen due to a front-end exploit. I cover some basic things to watch out for in Metamask and also talk about how the insurance company is not wanting to cover the attack. Good morning! This morning I cover two different projects that are both redefining and pushing what it means for their respective industries to be in the web 3 space. Louie C Rhymes is the NFT Rapper. He creates generative art and music NFT's for his project, but the NFT don't stop there. The music has no middleman, and the funds go toward building and empowering a community of artists. As an NFT holder you can become part of that community, giving you voting rights and the ability to receive community rewards. Then, with all this independence that NFTs, crypto, and DAO sare giving, people are leaving their corporate jobs in droves. This begs the question, "what about benefits, and taxes, and all the stressful and boring stuff that comes with being independent. Opolis is a tokenized employment commons that is designed to take care of those payroll and benefits for you. It is not just a service, by holding $WORK tokens you have ownership in the governance of Opolis and you have the power of community behind you.

Good morning! The common theme between these two very different projects, is they are both working to reach the everyone. Including those thought to be out of reach and out of touch. Human DAO is launching it's token on December 1, 2021 with a mission to equip the low to no income people of the world with the tools/P2E characters necessary to dive into web 3.0 games like Axie Infinity to earn income for themselves and their communities. Theta is creating a system of decentralized Content Delivery Networks (CDN) to replace CDN's like Cloudflare and Fastly to bring those CDN right into your neighborhood and in your home. This will enable ultra fast video streaming to meet the current and future demands of games, and the metaverse as it grows exponentially in size. Is all of this a good thing? Is this overreach? What it is will include AI? As always, I try to present some ideas and let you take it from there.

Good morning! This morning I highlight an article written by @eaglelex_eth. In his article he brings to light the issues with the general assertion that "Code is law" in the crypto space and dev world. While we all want to reform the current system that is rife with systematic oppression and segregation, what happens if we completely replace it with code? Does this open the door for new types of attacks and/or a dehumanization of the law? Does this set into motion a Moloch-style mechanism that goes on auto-pilot and leads humanity into destruction? Lots of these light-hearted questions are going through my head on this happy Sunday morning!

Here is an excerpt from a past show:  I connect dots like a crazy person between Alcor, cryonics, Hal Finney, Satoshi Nakamoto, and the speculation that Hal Finney is Satoshi Nakamoto who will return back to earth. Are we in the time of tribulation before the savior returns to bring order to the Earth through approx 1.1 million BTC mined in the early days? Was Hal Finney the real Satoshi Nakamoto? Of course, none of us reading this today will be alive in 2140, but it is fun to speculate.

I get a little technical and try to understand what EVM is, and then how WASM is the next step in the evolution of a decentralized virtual machine. Just when I begin to understand some of the basics of Ethereum, here they go already kicking it up another notch! I picked up some good .ETH domains, I transferred some ETH to Polygon, and I staked some stuff. I also talk about Avalanche chains, Polygon Bridges, LP token yield aggregators, Flote.app NFT drop, Adamant Finance Arbitrum airdrop, and other random stuff.

Weird subject combo today - It was a bit of a random show. I have had a Cardano NFT stuck in my Atomic wallet that got somehow bundled in there when I was trying to take some profits on my ADA tokens. It make it impossible to move and has been stuck there since last July. Really frustrating, but I found a fix a couple of days ago with ccvault.io. Then, I talk about a really amazing music-biology project I learned about through someone who was randomly talking about their background in a DAOists open DAO hour where people talk about DAO and life in general. She stumbled in and began talking about her project YYYRecords.com and the project on there which fuses living stem cell tissue from the musician grown in a petri-dish and connects it to a computer interface that connects to a synthesizer. The reactions of the living tissue to sound waves produced by drumming create music on the synth! She was talking about combining this innovation with NFTs and tokenization. Amazing stuff!

You never know what you may get when you jump on my morning video blog. This morning I decided to do a reading of an article by David Phelps entitled, "The Internet as Religion". As I dive further into my study of DAOs and participate in DAOs I am finding may of the points he brings up in his article to ring very true. I did not want to just talk about it or read snippets, as I would not capture the whole essence of the piece. So, I just decided to read the whole thing.

In this interview I get to talk about two of my favorite things: skateboarding and crypto! When I was a little hood rat kid, I would make halfpipes out of tape, scissor, and shoe boxes. I would also make my own little fingerboards to skate these homemade dream skateparks with. Now in today's digital worlds a group of skaters are taking this concept to the metaverse and building NFT skateboards with all the attributes, and the skatepark in the metaverse where skaters call all go hang out on a rainy day in the meat-space. Anyway, I loved being able to sit down with these guys and get to hear fist hand what they are doing! Website: sk8verse.xyz Twitter: @sk8verse

For this interview, I had Dan Thomson the Marketing Lead of Insurace.io join me from the big crypto conference in Lisbon, Portugal.  Excuse the background noise as he was right n the middle of the event and was kind enough to take some time in his busy conference schedule and call back home tot he United States to talk to me.  Insurace.io is a software protocol for decentralized insurance for the Decentralized Finance world.  Are you worried about venturing into that DeFi platform that your friends have been telling you about?

Contract audits are already becoming necessary, however, with insurance, you can pretty much guarantee that you will not suffer a tremendous loss by entering the DeFi space. Both individuals and institutions are catching on to crypto and it will be interesting to see where the insurance sector develops in this space. With Insurace, you will have that firm footing you need to explore the space freely.   https://www.insurace.io/

I have a great conversation with Brynn Huxtable about his home country South Africa, his crypto journey in general, his position with Marketsquare.io, and Marketsquare.io as a platform.  Marketsquare.io seeks to be one-stop information source for crypto projects to be able to show who/what they are in an easily digestible and accessible format.  In combination with Ark Blockchain, Marketsquare.io is striving for interoperability in the crypto-space to advance web 3.0 as a whole.

I interviewed EZ of Rug Zombie. He explains the levels and nuances of rug pulls in a way that anyone can understand. He also explains some of the concepts and goals for the Rug Zombie project. Rug Zombie is the DeFi clean up crew to help someone recover their dead assets, but also quickly becoming much more than that with gameplay aspects being built in. Keep an eye on this project as it is blending yield farming, NFTs and gaming together!
