Colin Moriarty, CEO of Colin's Last Stand, host of the Sacred Symbols & Knockback podcasts, and co-owner and writer at Lillymo Games, is a prolific and long-lasting figure in games media. Despite experiencing great success as an entrepreneur and business leader, Colin has never been interviewed about the business tactics, strategies, and philosophies that got him to where he is today.

Until now.

I hope you enjoy. And if you like what you see here, be sure to check out the rest of my YouTube channel where I post interesting interviews and conversations about video games every week.

Hello and welcome! Video Game Consultation (see what I did there) is a new games industry podcast that connects news stories to the surrounding values and conversations that define video game and nerd culture.

I'm your host, Jeremiah Potter, and every week, I'll be joined by my good friend, Zane Moubray. He's an enthusiast, I'm an up-and-coming professional in games, and we're extremely thankful to have you as a listener. If you like what you see here, head on over to my youtube channel or my portfolio site (www.aheadofthe.games) to see what else I'm doing.

Video Games as an artistic and technological medium seem to get a bad rap from those who don't play them. This week, we wanted to have a deep dive into why we think games are important, why they're worth defending, and why we care about them. This isn't a comprehensive argument by any means (that would take a lot more than 87 minutes), but after 12 episodes of critical takes of the industry, we can finally just gush about why we care so much in the first place.

In this episode, Jeremiah realized that he needs to stop talking in the third person when making the write ups. This week, Zane and I focused almost entirely on Nintendo. We give our takes on the recent Nintendo Direct, their position on acquisitions, how many units the Switch has sold and where it is in its life cycle, as well as their place on the industry as a whole. We're sorry we've been neglecting you big N, today's all about you.

Welp, Sony bought Bungie. This week episode has a lot to it. In addition to that crazy news, we revisit the Microsoft/ABK acquisition, and have a deep dive on the games that we just completed. To cap it all off, the end features some exciting personal news that will hopefully lead to better content for the show. This is one of, if not our best episode yet.

After a short break, Jeremiah and Zane get back to it with plans to make Video Game Consultation better than it has ever been, since its inception a few months prior. In all seriousness, we discuss our new vision for the show, catch up on what we've been doing, and go over some of the big news going on in the games industry at the moment. With the description out of the way, we'll make it known here: if any multi-billion-dollar company wants to buy us out, we'll sell for half as much as ABK (quite the bargain!).

For Video Game Consultation's final episode of 2020, Jeremiah forgets how to count and claims that this is episode 10. Oops. The rest of the show consists of talk regarding The Game Awards, our personal favorites of the year, and general reflection over the recent era of games as well as the work done with the podcast.

Jeremiah and Zane discuss the abundance (some may say over-abundance) of news and releases since the last recorded episode. If I were to write it all here, I would run out of characters, so I'll leave it up to the episode.

Jeremiah and Zane explored the wild west and recorded an episode without a script. We aren't doing it again, but please enjoy this test.

The news for this week is all about PlayStation Showcase predictions, PES, Marvel's Midnight Suns, and poor CD Projekt Red. To cap it off, the boys answer the question: What video game do you want made into a movie?

This week, J & Z talk about the differences between console and pc, their respective players, and how that impacts the players in the industry. The news of day is all about the PlayStation showcase and a few other cleanup items, like Dying Light 2's delay and PlayStation's Firesprite purchase. The question for this week is: You get to erase one game (or gaming franchise) from existence. Which one and why?
