Sometimes people with Fibromyalgia are silently struggling with their burdens because they feel misunderstood or neglected, however when someone experiences unrelenting pain, everyone who lives with them and their loved ones are likely to suffer as well. The frustration, anxiety, stress, and depression that often go with chronic pain can also afflict family members and friends who feel helpless to provide some relief. Along my journey with FM, my husband and I have both been learning how to manage our emotions when the pain level in my body is high and what to do to improve the situation. We both agreed that communication is a crucial tool to support one another during our most difficult moments.    In this episode, my husband and I had un Cafecito together where we had an interesting conversation about his perspective on Fibromyalgia, what he is been doing to manage with all of my symptoms, and how all this has affected him as well. Although my journey has been long, it was a little bit over 7 years ago when my symptoms began to escalate and my health started to go downhill. which it's almost the time we've been married, therefore with his love, patience, and support, he has been an important and a big part of what I call now my new healing journey. Hope you guys find something valuable in this episode! Pain is complex. After many years of suffering with many symptoms, going through a series of tests, and misdiagnosis, I finally have answers to a gazillion questions. I've been recently diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, and not too long ago, I had the most terrible flare-up where I couldn’t even put my thoughts and words in order, pain was severe, depression kicked in badly, and I even had anxiety and panic attacks, however, although there's no cure for Fibromyalgia, I decided to fight back and be more kind with myself by taking care of my body, mind and spirit. I've been also learning that is ok to be vulnerable because actually that's an act of courage, although hasn't been easy, I'm committed with myself to live one day at a time, to learn how to manage my emotions, and to ask for help when I need it. Now I know that there are factors that triggers this condition, therefore I am learning to control how I respond to situations and events so that I can reduce the stress levels in my body. I made my mission, to not only, change my mindset, but also teach others about Fibromyalgia, especially to those who have been recently diagnosed with it, to help them understand what's going on with their bodies. My intention is also to share as much information as possible for more people to know how to support and be more empathetic with the ones who are struggling with this life-changing chronic pain condition.  On the following episodes, I will be talking about pain, the physiology to regulate pain in our bodies, how to deal with it, Fibromyalgia, it's symptoms, and more, all that based on my own story and research I made, and some interviews with stories that will touch your heart. Hope you can find valuable information from this Mini-Series I created with so much love. In this social media-ruled society, we evaluate people by what they have or how they look, and that's why people find it hard to define themselves without labels. We are not a role, a position, or a possession. God had a plan in creating us and we are not an accident either, regardless of the circumstances of our birth or who our parents are, God has a reason for everything he creates, therefore He had a purpose in creating us.

On this episode we will reflect on who we really are, so that we could describe ourselves without any labels...

is it possible to overcome loneliness and enjoy our own company?

Well, all of us as human beings feel different emotions, like happiness, sadness, anxiety, fear, frustration, loneliness, etc.. but some of those feelings can cause so much damage to our mind, body, and consequently our health.

Not knowing ourselves lead us to feel incompetent, unloved, or inadequate, and must of the time struggle with low self-esteem, not recognizing our self-worth. So, we are consistently afraid about making mistakes or letting other people down, therefore we develop an emotional co-dependency which is a need of others, because we make our happiness or unhappiness dependent on those people, attaching ourselves to them despite the pain that not being able to enjoy our own company is causing in ourselves, BUT in reality, we ended up losing ourselves by trying to hold-on to them.

On today's episode while I was enjoying un Cafecito, I was reflecting on that question I’ve been asked many times lately, by those who have been connecting with me through emails, or messages on my website, so that’s why I decided to do this episode specially for all of you.

Hope you enjoy this reflection and can be or inspiration and encouragement for you!

In today’s episode, our guest, a beautiful young girl, shared with us her story of how after coming from Mexico to Canada and having to face the fact of living in a different country, adjusting to different cultures, overcoming language barrier, struggling with being far from friends and family, she also had to face the painful experienced of a divorce, and it was in the midst of all those struggles where she met the one who saved her, comfort and granted her the desires of her heart; she went from knowing about Him, to knowing Him; encountering a very personal and close relationship with Him.  She also openly talked about how women struggle with similar temptations as men every day, such as masturbation and pornography, but at the same time, she shared how she is been dealing and coping with all that, giving a powerful advice.

Scars are marks left in the skin as a result of an injury, either internally or externally but they are part of a process of a wound repair. We all have scars and for our today's guest, those marks are a reminder of what he went through and what he doesn't want to go back to...

On today’s episode, I had a heartfelt conversation with a brave, determined young man, who told his story of how, while he was searching for his identity, a sense of acceptance and belonging, he lost himself and got involved with people, and in situations that put him off track, nevertheless after a terrible accident, instead of seeking for revenge or getting bitter and with resentments, he chose gratitude, and forgiveness, so now he is committed to save lives by sharing his story and leaving a message of hope to the youth.

Young mothers face adversity before and after becoming a parent, but it's important to remind yourself that it's ok not to be ok, that it's ok to ask for help, and the most important is to know that you're not alone, and that there's hope for anything you are experiencing right now! Our guest share a little bit about her story, her struggles during this transition of her life, and how she is dealing with her good but mostly bad days.

In this episode I had a coffee with my friend Aiga Jekabsone, Personal Trainer based in Chicago and virtual coaching. She shares how she was struggling with eating disorders without her, or her loved ones acknowledge but how talking about it has been helping her in the process of recovering and how now she even feels more connected to her clients. On this conversation we both agreed that sometimes we feel ashamed to talk about situations we are struggling in life because we tend to think that we are alone in this but in reality is that talking about the problem with the right people becomes part of our healing process, and maybe we don't know but there's someone close to us that might be experiencing the same problem. Please remember, it's ok to be vulnerable, and to seek for help! Connect with Aiga at www.empoweredtrain.com
