Although Spain is home to a significant number of Roma people, only a handful make it to higher education. As in many other European countries, numerous obstacles prevent these individuals from having greater representation in universities. Discrimination is one of the biggest challenges they face. To counter this trend, the Spanish Roma university network CampusRom is providing support to Roma people who wish to study.
Although Denmark is known as one of the world's top countries in terms of gender equality, it ranks rather poorly on gender-based violence. Society still seems deaf when it comes to acknowledging the issues women face. Kirstine Holst saw the man she accused of rape acquitted by the court in 2018. Following the acquittal - in the face of political resistance, hostile media coverage and anonymous death threats - Kirstine successfully led a movement to reform the Danish rape laws to a consent-based framework.

Between the 17 and 18 October 2021 the humanitarian ship Sea-Watch 3 rescued 412 people from seven different vessels that had come into difficulty in the Central Mediterranean, within striking distance of the Libyan coast. Rob, a veteran activist, was driving one of the rescue boats. From threats by the Libyan Coast Guard to the practicalities of hosting hundreds of people on a small ship exposed to the elements, he and the rest of the crew faced many challenges in their mission to help migrants reach a safe port in Europe. The problem is, his entire persona is a fabrication. But to what extent has Zanker been able to trick the world? And what does his scam say about us?
