In this episode of the Full Circle Podcast, I am joined by Megan Cooper, a Holistic Health Coach, EFT practitioner and space-holder based in Brighton, UK. In 2015, Megan made the brave decision to leave her corporate career in London and moved to Australia to teach yoga. While there, away from her family and friends, Megan was diagnosed with a hormone imbalance which prompted her to begin healing her body naturally, the success of which led her to study Holistic Health and Nutrition to help others do the same.
Megan continues to deepen the way she works with clients, using EFT and Matrix Reimprinting to transform subconscious beliefs, trauma, and the way we see and experience the world: healing the past to interrupt the present and change possibility for the future.
Megan joins me in studio to discuss the importance of identifying the root cause of trauma and illness, the impact of trusting your internal compass, and how you can live a fulfilling life that is true to who you are.
Quotes
“I felt this deadening inside myself, and it wasn’t really about the job because lots of people worked in that industry and were perfectly happy. But it was just about me and it not being my authentic place in the world.” - 09:12
“I decided to treat myself holistically and naturally… I did a bit of inventory of the past decade of my life…I basically spent the last 10 years of my life drinking, smoking, taking drugs, partying, not getting much sleep, working in a job that I didn’t like… I wonder what would happen if I just did all of the opposite things…” - 22:57
“I went to go and have rescans, and about 18 months later they said ‘You have completely reversed your condition’ which is pretty unbelievable.” - 26:19
“I understood the success I had of doing what I was doing, but I didn’t understand HOW I’d done it. So that inspired me to go and study holistic health and nutrition.” - 26:56
“I only go wrong when I ignore my own internal compass” - 31:00
“That’s where the real liberation lies…as soon as we can bring things back to the root cause rather than chipping away at the edges.” - 37:25

What is your purpose? Have you ever thought about it before? For most of my adult life, I hadn't. As I grew older a few questions would pop up again and again: Who am I? What do I want? What is my purpose? In this episode, we explore those questions, and how you can answer them for yourself. This episode focuses on how we can connect with our purpose, and why it’s important to do so. I share how I discovered my purpose and I'll guide you through a short meditation to help you connect with your higher self to determine your very own purpose statement.
Be prepared to answer these questions:
Once you have declared what your purpose is and begin to walk your path, you'll find the worry, frustration, and inner conflict that you've been experiencing will drift away.

So many of us are lost, in one way or another. Part of what I do in my work as a Master Coach and Transformational Wellness expert is discuss identity, and how important it is for individuals to explore who they are. One of the most common questions I get is "How can I feel like me again?" and it’s a tough question to answer. That because when you've lost sight of who you really are, it can often feel impossible to find your way back. In this episode, I propose another question – which, when answered honestly - will serve as the foundation for finding your way back to your authentic self. Tune in and let me guide you to finding the TRUE answer. Once you have the answer, then you can move onto step 2.

When we experience inner conflict, it’s important to understand what the root cause of that conflict is. In my professional experience, the biggest roadblocks to being our true selves are people-pleasing and the need to fit in – but it’s important to understand exactly what is preventing YOU from being your most authentic self, as the answer is unique to each person. In this episode, we touch on the three conditions of being your true self: understanding your truth, speaking your truth and living your truth. There are four questions that I urge you to answer out loud to understand and speak your truth:
Being true to myself will mean ________
If I am true to myself, I could ________
If I were true to myself, I would let go of ________
How would being true to myself change my life?
In order to LIVE your truth you need to come back to these questions, read the answers out loud every day, and make sure your actions are aligned to them. Once you have completed this step, you can move onto step 3.

To come home to your true self you must be willing to release the past and ditch old habits and old patterns of living. To do that, we must “let go to let come.” It’s not simple to do this. For true transformation to take place, you need to lose your cynicism and open your mind, and open your heart. In this episode, I help you achieve the openness which is critical for this next step be successful. I also invite you to imagine the emotional backpack you’ve been carrying, and share tips for choosing what is important to keep inside of it, and what can be thrown away. I end the episode by reading a personal letter I wrote to my past self, and guide you on taking part in this cathartic experience yourself.

In the last three episodes, I've asked you to look within. In this episode I’ll help you connect with your passions by encouraging you to look outwards. This is an important part of finding your purpose as it helps you understand what brings you joy, satisfaction and fulfillment. As we move through step 4, I ask you: “what would you do if you could do anything?” This is a very powerful question and if you were to ask yourself this question it will give you a very clear indication or idea of what brings you the most joy in your life, what gives your life meaning. To answer this question, iI encourage you to consider these questions:
Now that there is space in your backpack, it’s time to fill it up with the things that bring a smile to your face. Once you a reminded of what brings you joy, you can move onto step 5.

Hello and welcome back to season five of the Full Circle podcast! This season is different from the previous four, as I am flying solo for the first time! You won’t be hearing conversations with guests this season; instead, you’ll be taken on a guided journey back home to your true, authentic self.
This 7-part series is inspired by my favourite lessons from my book, “Coming Home: A Guide To Being Your True Self.” In each episode, you will be given practical tips that will help you live a life that is true to yourself. As you listen to each episode, I encourage you to have real, honest and purposeful conversations with yourself. This journey requires commitment and determination, so I invite you to connect with me on Instagram (@the.master.coach) or on LinkedIn and share feedback on your personal journey - I would be delighted to hear from you. My hope for this season is that you walk away knowing that anything is possible when you connect with the whole of you: mind, body and spirit.

If you've made it through the previous 4 episodes with me, then I think you are ready for this next step in your journey home to your true self. This episode is all about radical self-care, healing, and the four cornerstones of wellness: the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. That's because honouring your body, mind, and soul is the secret to taking care of the whole of you. If you can master the four cornerstones of wellness you can move from a place of ‘doing’ to a place of ‘being’. In this episode, we explore the four cornerstones of wellness, the importance of implementing a wellness strategy and the universal law of giving and receiving. I also share how I developed my own routine in line with each of the four cornerstones of wellness and invite you to reflect on what you need to do or change to have greater balance, a joyful energetic body, a compassionate, loving heart, and a lightness of being.

This is the final episode of our 7-part, self-discovery series. Each week, we've taken a journey inward, going as far into our consciousness as possible, and looking at all the obstacles that stand between us and our true selves. In this episode, we reflect upon our journey over the past six episodes, review the lessons and insights and look at what’s next for you and your future. The purpose of reflecting is not to gain a sense of arrogance about how far you’ve come, but to simply acknowledge that we're always evolving—and there's no better reminder than thinking about where you were at the beginning of this series. If you’d like to continue your personal journey to reconnect, rediscover and reaffirm who you are, I invite you to explore one of my personal development retreats happening in Majorca, Spain in May and June 2023. There are more details at www.fullcircle.com.
Until then, stay well and invite joy and curiosity into your life.

If you want to connect with the forces inside of you, today’s episode is for you, as we deep dive into chakras - the energy centers of the body. My guest, Thimela Garcia, is a Kundalini yoga teacher and the author of ‘Chakras: The Guide To Principles, Practices And More’. Thimela also has a popular Instagram account called ‘Chakra Mama Healing’, where she educates her following on how chakras affect our bodies and how they can help facilitate our spiritual healing.
In this conversation, we discuss the common resistance toward spirituality, the seven primary chakras, ways of unblocking the chakras, and the powers of reiki healing – all in a bid to optimize the flow of energy and boost your wellness.
Quotes
“I was surrounded by incense sticks, tarot cards, meditation, mantras, mudras, reiki healing…and in a way, I tried to block it. I was just a teenager, and I was embarrassed that my mom was doing things differently than other people.” [03:12]
“I was seeking. I was incomplete. There was something internal, pulling me toward a calling. I was looking for something to make me feel alive and complete…” [05:31]
“There is a divine timing when you are where you are supposed to be, at the place you are supposed to be.” [08:10]
“You’re able to see the chakras, but not with your two eyes – only with the third eye.” [34:28]
“We are not here to save the world; we are here to save ourselves.” [41:30]

In childhood, our lives are centered around playing and being creative, but as we age, we forget the importance of play. But as my next guest demonstrates, it is possible to enhance our lives by learning to tap into playfulness as an adult.
Leila Rezaiguia is a vibrant Executive & Systemic Team Coach and Coach Supervisor, renowned for her high energy, enthusiasm, and fun-loving nature. She works with leading organisations and individuals to enhance productivity, maximise performance, and accelerate growth – and also delivers coach training programmes in the UAE. Leila is a free-spirit, driven by a desire to express her creativity, unleash her playful spirit and nurture her creativity in as many ways as possible. In this episode, she shares how she channels her creative spirit, how she injects playfulness into her coaching practice, and how you can invite more colour into your daily life.
Quotes
“We sometimes forget to even bring the simple things like joy, laughing and lightness into our relationships, with ourselves, our work…” [10:28]
“Human nature is being playful and laughing, and not taking ourselves too seriously.” [11:14]
“Tune into those things that make you feel yummy, and really make you feel happy inside.” [11:57]
“I buy creative journals wherever I go. I surround myself with creative calendars, and my laptop cover is always colourful, my jewelry, my nail colour. It’s the whole ecosystem.” [13:50]
“My medicine name is Butterfly. It is creative for me. It’s the whole energy behind the butterfly that helps me source that inner playfulness.” [18:19]

For some people, coming out as LGBTQ is easy – they’re comfortable with their identity and sexuality, and may have a supportive network. And sometimes it’s downright messy – they’re older, married with kids, or simply unable to accept their truth. Whatever the case may be - coming out can be difficult, confusing and painful.
My next guest is Melisa Raney - a mother and advocate for coming out. At 36, Melisa slowly began to question her sexuality. The problem was, she was in a heterosexual marriage, raising their two young children. Today, she is making, what she calls, her ‘mess’ her message: sharing her experience to guide others through the difficult process of coming out later in life.
It is no easy feat, but as Melisa teaches us: when you live your life authentically, you begin to live your life unapologetically.
Quotes
“I was following what was expected of me: go to school, go to college, meet the boy and get married…” [3:50]
“I had misread my own sexuality.” [4:20]
“It made me feel so validated; what I was feeling was real” [10:00]
“I was trying to fit in this box that society had created for me…” [11:22]
“I was happy in my marriage but I wasn’t fulfilled.” [24:30]

In this week’s episode, we are exploring the healing practices of Ayahuasca and other plant-based medicines that allow us to heal from within and discover our authentic selves. She is also a Plant Ritual Facilitator at ‘Behold Retreats’, where she helps individuals heal trauma and find purpose. What happens when the life you imagined for yourself is suddenly out of reach? This week’s guest is Joe Powell-Main, Wales’ first professional ballet dancer with a disability. An injury early on in his dance career changed the way he would perform ballet forever. But being in a wheelchair didn’t change his love for dance and he has used his disability to enable and inspire others in the ballet and dance world.
What I learned in this episode is that no matter where life takes you, there is joy in embracing a life that is unexpected. And that when curveballs hit, it’s normal to feel anger, fear, or sadness - but with the right mindset, facing your new circumstances can bring you one step closer to discovering your purpose.
Quotes
“It’s dancing but just in another way… because I hadn’t really seen dancers using wheelchairs.” [16:58]
“Even though I had a disability, I had differing abilities to a standing dancer and they are just as valid and should be celebrated just as much.” [27:11]
“The biggest setback can also be the greatest strength.” [33:40]

The saying ‘I’m losing my mind’ couldn’t be truer for my next guest. This week I am speaking with Barbara K. Lipska, a Neuroscientist who was diagnosed in 2015 with metastatic melanoma in her brain’s frontal lobe. As the cancer progressed and was treated, she experienced behavioural and cognitive symptoms connected to a range of mental disorders, including dementia and her professional specialty, schizophrenia. Gradually, after a course of immunotherapy, Barbara returned to normal functioning and amazingly recalled her experience – even writing a memoir entitled ‘The Neuroscientist who Lost her Mind: My Tale of Madness And Recovery’.
A tale like no other— I am honoured to speak with Barbara about returning home to her true self after her brush with insanity.
Quotes
“100% of people die with this illness when this spreads to the brain— so it’s tragic as you can imagine.” [4:41]
“I’m alive and that’s the most important thing.” [18:34]
“Live in the moment because you don’t know what will happen to you.” [26:12]

Why do we dream? And do our dreams have hidden meaning? These are some of the common questions that I am happy to have answered on this week’s episode of the Full Circle podcast. I am joined by Ian Wallace, a dream psychologist and best-selling author, who answers the most asked questions about dreaming and shares what recurring dreams and nightmares truly mean in our waking lives. Quotes

Virginia, who is also a therapist and Life Coach, shares how she found happiness in the face of adversity, healed herself from within, and offers advice for those wanting to find more joy in their lives. One of the hardest things you'll ever do is live your life without a loved one. When you've lost someone so close, it’s often hard to know what to do with yourself, and how to keep going. In this episode, I am joined by Sasha Bates, who shares her personal story about the sudden loss of her husband, Bill. Although tragic, Sasha has found a meaningful way to live her life through writing various bestselling books, her work as psychotherapist and practising yoga. In this episode, we discuss the stages of grief she went through, her advice for others experiencing a painful loss, and how she continues to celebrate Bill’s life in memorable ways.

Arranged marriages have been common practice for many centuries but there are fewer of them as society becomes more and more influenced by the west. My next guest is Mimi - a 29-year-old Content Creator based in New York City, known to her audience as Mimi Moments. Since the age of 15, Mimi felt pressure to find a suitor, but pushed against it for many years. Eventually she married. Still, an arranged marriage, but in her own time and on her own terms. She joins me to share her experience of finding love in an arranged marriage, common misconceptions, pressures she faced, and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

When we think of love within the context of marriage, we often envision two people devoted and committed to each other. But the reality for many couples is that love fades, people stray, and reigniting that spark can be a challenge. Here to share her story is award-winning journalist and best-selling author, Marcia DeSanctis. When Marcia was 47 years old – married with children and leading a very happy life – she longed for an affair. What followed was a journey to understanding herself and what she desired to find the fulfillment she craved from marriage. This episode explores her excitement at meeting a younger man, how she coped with changing emotions, and the journey to restoring the passion and love with her husband.
Quotes
“I felt alive with a capital ‘A’ again.” [11:10]
“I was re-discovering the real me. The me that I had kind of forgotten about – buried, I guess.” [12:14]
“The forties are really tough. You start thinking that there is more time behind you than there is ahead of you. That was a really disruptive thought for me.” [14:25]
“I would say that it was a strengthening event for our marriage, rather than a weakening one.” [18:54]
“The individuals need to be strong and the partnership has to be strong.” [29:36]

When expecting a new child, our hearts and minds can be overrun with thoughts of boundless love – but what happens when postpartum disorders interfere with that perfect love we imagined? For today’s guest, her unexpected struggle with multiple postpartum mood disorders forced her to reexamine everything she thought she knew about becoming a mother. Emily Phelps, a Prenatal, Birth & Postpartum Doula, joins me to discuss her personal struggle following the birth of her son, the loss of identity that new mothers experience, and why we need to normalize the wide range of responses we have after childbirth.
Quotes
“I had postpartum depression, anxiety, postpartum onset OCD, and birth trauma so I would joke that I had the trail mix of perinatal mood and anxiety disorders because I had all of them.” [04:25]
“I had a healthy baby, and I was fine…but in the months following his birth, I didn’t feel really connected to him.” [07:45]
“I felt emotionally evaporated. There was nothing left.” [10:38]
“If I had a good day, I felt like I imagined the whole thing. On my good days, I would gaslight my reality with the bad days.” [13:30]
“The village that surrounds us is a huge piece of what allows us to find our way back home.” [18:04]
“We are not good about honouring that an immense experience has happened that has a hugely acceptable range of emotional responses. It does not have to be all happy.” [18:12]
“People feel like they are defective. [They think] “What am I doing wrong? I’m not a good parent, I’m not a good mom, or dad, or partner. I’m not able to do it right. It’s me.” And it is not true. [20:36]

Death is as much a part of life as birth. And, just like a birth, it is smoother when we are prepared for it. Not that we can control the dying process, but there is a lot we can do to make the final stages of life more meaningful and peaceful. To discuss the end-of-life process, I am speaking with Janie Rakow, the co-founder of Farewell Doula. As an End of Life Doula, she journeys with the dying person and their loved ones through the end-of-life process. She fills the gaps in hospice care and helps create legacies, memories, conduct rituals, plan vigils and create guided visualizations. In this episode, we discuss how to bring more meaning and less suffering to the end of life, and ways of bringing dignity and care to death.
Quotes
“We should be saying all these wonderful, intimate things before they die so they can know and hear it.” [16:44]
"When someone is dying, hearing is the last sense to go; so they can hear you and your stories.” [18:44]
“People are going to be born and people are going to die; we need to normalise and not make it this big hidden secret." [24:07]
“Do the things and say the things right now because we never know how much time any of us have.” [30:01]
“Our body is designed to die so we know how to die; it is a peaceful process.” [31:57]

Love; undoubtedly the most powerful force in the world. Revealing a new theme, in this season I am exploring the topic of love and how it manifests in our lives. When it comes to love, we all believe in different things – but if you’re anything like me, you may wonder if love is in the ‘stars’ and whether your star sign can impact who you fall in love with. To answer these questions, I am joined by a magnificent Astrologer, Natalie Holbrook, who fuses her knowledge of science, the stars and spirituality to decode the blueprint of her client’s life paths. Natalie shares meaningful insights into how your birth chart impacts your purpose in life, the partner you choose and how you combat feelings of loneliness and trauma.

• Before the up level comes an initiation, and usually that initiation can be very painful and dark. [12:23]

Host Gillian McMichael reflects on the second season of the Full Circle: Finding Your Way Home podcast, focused entirely on the theme of transformation. Gillian shares her personal transformation story and her most memorable lessons from each episode. Season Three will be released in February 2022 and will focus on the theme of "love". Until then, stay well and invite joy and curiosity into your life.
Episode notes
Today we are exploring the idea of transformation through the lens of body-image and acceptance. Many of us embark on a journey to change our physical selves, with the promise of happiness, but true transformation is as much about changing a physical aspect of ourselves, as it is about accepting ourselves.
In this episode, Sarah McDonald shares how carrying extra weight impacted her sense of self, and what losing 150 pounds meant for her health and wellbeing. She details what life was like before her weight loss, the catalyst for embarking on a health journey, and the inner healing that she experienced. Sarah offers her advice to listeners whose relationship with food is defined by negative thought patterns, and highlights that the mental transformation is as important as the physical transformation.
Episode notes
Highlights
“It’s hard to really pin-point what led to what – did the bullying lead to weight gain, or did the weight gain lead to bullying? Probably it’s a little bit of both.” [4:43-4:52]
“It’s a huge relief not having to always think about your weight and whether your body is going to fit in the situation that you are putting yourself in.” [7:31- 7:44]
“My journey has really been shaped by that concept of mindfulness, and just thinking more about what it is your consuming, what it is you’re doing and how you’re treating your body on a daily basis.” [21:33-21:45]
“I wanted to be normal, I wanted my body to be normalized.” [23:37-23:40]
The popular understanding of sexuality is that it develops from a young age and solidifies as a person grows older. “Gay” and “straight” are treated as the default categories, with labels like “bisexual” or “asexual” often entirely forgotten. Although in recent years, more space has been made for people who identify with being gay, lesbian, bisexual, or queer later in life.
Living our truth requires being with the people we love – and for some, this requires the courage to pursue a life they never imagined they would have. In this episode, I am joined by Ashleigh MacDonald – a professional dancer who identifies as lesbian having previously been in heterosexual relationships. Today, she shares how she met her current partner Rosie, what inspired her to live her truth, and how she overcame hardship along the way.
Episode notes
Highlights
“I didn’t really know that bisexuality was a thing, I didn’t know that that existed.” [4:33-4:36]
“What’s bisexual? So, I went home and googled it and was like oh, that’s what I am. So, I had decided really early on that’s what I was.” [5:36-5:41]
“Humans don’t like change. So, I think that when you identify as something, even though you’re okay with the change and you’re okay with where you’re going, everyone else is like ‘woah’. [8:42-8:52]
“We were talking about, you know, goals and aspirations and life dreams and I really realized actually the path I’m on isn’t really honouring who I am.” [13:47-13:58]
In 1999, Flight Lieutenant Caroline Paige made the choice to undergo a gender transition, making her the first transgender officer to serve openly in the British Armed Forces. What followed after a nearly 20-year career with the Royal Air Force were immediate calls for her dismissal. However, Caroline moved forward as the person she was meant to be, becoming an LGBT+ advocate inside and outside of the armed forces.
Today, Caroline is the joint CEO of the newly formed charity Fighting With Pride - The LGBT+ Military Charity. The charity is leading the health and wellbeing support of LGBT+ veterans, serving personnel and families. She joins me on the show to discuss her transition, life in the military and the advocacy work she does within the LGBT+ community.
Episode notes
Highlights
“The LGBT+ Veterans community has been isolated from the military family for 21+ years and so this was the first occasion, and people say well why do you need to have that visibility? But if you don’t have that visibility how do people know you’re there, how do they know that the LGBT+ community has always been part of the armed forces?” [4:18-4:37]
“I was very aware, from the age of five that my gender identity conflicted with who I was.” [6:30-6:38]
“You can’t switch off your identity, you can’t switch off who you are, its there all the time.” [7:12-7:16]
“You stand to lose everything you love, so you put so much effort into hiding it but you can’t, as I say earlier, you’ve still got to try and take those risks to be yourself and I did take those risks.” [15:42-15:54]
“You only get one shot at life, its only there once. And so, you need to do something about it.” [20:36-20:4]
In this episode, I am joined by Sumi Mukherjee to discuss childhood bullying, and how those experiences can have longstanding effects into adulthood. Sumi was a victim of intense bullying as a child which triggered severe Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. To regain control, Sumi embarked on a transformative healing journey which he details in our conversation. Today, Sumi is an author, anti-bullying advocate and public speaker, who uses his own experience to help others. In doing this, Sumi found his calling – standing up for those who cannot. His story is an inspiration to those on their own healing journey after a traumatic childhood.
As a victim of prolonged bullying myself, this is a conversation I was looking forward to recording, so I hope you find the episode as cathartic as I did.
Episode Notes
Highlights
“You can always look for a specific cause of why a certain person is bullied or singled out but really the core reason is people bully, and people like to bully.” [4:37-4:49]
“Being different, you know as adults we tell kids its okay to be different because truly it should be okay, but in certain phases of your life it’s really not okay – that’s the reality. That’s the reality we aspire to that it’s okay to be different, but it’s not.” [8:38- 8:57]
“It’s like the bullying and the OCD joined forces, very strongly in my life and really tore my life completely apart.” [16:53-16:55]
“You can get through it, and the other side, when you get out, is a wonderful, wonderful life” [24:25-24:29]
“We cannot and should not compare trauma from one person to another; everyone’s trauma is their own.” [31:40-31:45]
Many of us will change our careers multiple times in our lives – but as we age, the idea of a career change begins to look not only scary, but impossible. In a time when our lives are so wrapped up in our careers, sometimes the only way to find our most authentic and happy selves is to change our jobs.
My guest today is Laura Sheehan, a career coach and speaker. Laura was a U.S lawyer when she followed her husband overseas to support his career. What followed was life in 8 different countries and on four continents. With each move, Laura changed her professional identity. Today, Laura joins the show to discuss her career transformation and shares advice for those on their own journey, no matter what age they are.
Episode Notes:
Highlights
“I had the choice of staying with the law firm in D.C. by myself, or accompanying my husband overseas to his first assignment – and so I chose the latter.” [5:31-5:42]
“I started to kind of get into a rhythm and knew generally what to expect on a day-to-day basis and really then, that’s when it started to sink in, that’s when I started to feel as though I had left something behind and that I had potentially sacrificed my career and my professional identity to follow my husband overseas.” [7:22-7:40]
“A lot of us who move around as often as I have begin to view our careers as almost like patchworks of seemingly unrelated experiences” [10:58-11:12]
“One of the women looked at me, and just stopped me in my track and said ‘well, Laura, if you could do anything what would it be?’ and the questions blew my mind.” [15:27-15:38]
“The greatest gift I think I’ve received from this part of the journey is exactly what I wanted it to be – helping other people recognize their inherent value, see that all the things that they have been doing mean something and have been moving them forward.” [22:17-22:34]

When we experience a life-changing event, we are often left to pick up the pieces of who we were and use them to create a new version of ourselves. I am speaking with Tulsi Vagjiani, an airplane crash survivor whose parents and brother perished, along with 89 others, after their plane crashed in Bangalore in 1990. At just 10 years old, Tulsi was flown home to England where she was treated for second and third-degree burns to 45% of her body. Today, Tulsi is an influential speaker, a Reiki Grand Master, Pilates Rehabilitation Specialist and an ambassador for Changing Faces. In this episode, she shares highlights of her healing journey and the moments that led her home to her authentic self.
Episode Notes:
Highlights
“I held the mirror up and I actually thought someone had drawn the face on because that’s not me.” [6:20-6:27]
“I did deny a lot of all this happening.” [11:12-11:15]
“It’s never about changing the external that’s going to bring happiness, its working from the inside out.” [20:15-20:21]
“My scars never stopped me from achieving anything - it was my mindset, the negative connotations that I take on, the narratives - it was that that was stopping me.” [25:57-26;09]
“Everything’s steppingstones towards a bigger picture.” [29:21-29:24]
“Resilience is learning how to use your emotions better.” [32:23-32:31]
“Beauty is your own version of it. Look at your own beauty, your own way, it’s not anyone else’s opinion.” [34:48–35:04]
When battling addiction, many individuals make the brave choice to embark on a transformative healing journey. This is a challenging and scary path to navigate but taking your life into your own hands is essential for leading a fulfilling and healthy life. Today’s guest is Natasha Blunt – a woman who reached professional and personal burnout after facing mental health and addiction struggles throughout her life. In this episode she shares her story of overcoming addiction, the lessons she has learned during her recovery, and tips for staying on track.

Transformation is often about finding your way home; but what does that mean when you have never had a real home? How do you find your way there?
My guest on the show had to answer these questions on her own, after spending her childhood in and out of the US Foster Care System. Instead of letting her circumstances define her, Cordelia Cranshaw used her experiences as fuel to transform her life and the lives of those around her. After aging out of Foster Care, she went on to earn a Masters of Social Work degree at age 22 and was named Miss District of Columbia USA 2019. Today, she is a social worker and child welfare advocate, and runs her own organization “Acts of Random Kindness” with a mission of helping individuals in similar situations experience their own life transformations.
In this episode, she shares her honest and true story.

Welcome back to the Full Circle Podcast, where each episode of Season 2 explores the theme of transformation.
Perfectionism is often viewed as a positive trait – but for those who identify as ‘perfectionists’ - it is far from a positive experience; high levels of stress, fear of failure and unrealistic expectations are just some of the signs of perfectionism, and if left unchecked, these traits can consume the life of the perfectionist.
My guest today is Natalie Orr, a Life Coach and professional dancer based in Madrid. Natalie has spoken openly about life as a self-confessed perfectionist, how she’s overcome some of her behaviours, and how she’s living a far more calm and balanced life as a result. In our conversation, she shares what this journey looked like for her and the advice she has for listeners who would like to put perfectionist tendencies behind them, too.

Quotes:
‘The line that you cross into perfectionism - it’s when you start to not be able to tolerate mistakes.” [4:17-4:23]
“You’re like: let me just be as perfect as possible to protect myself, to feel safe from other people’s judgements.” [9:13 - 9:24]
“Can I give myself permission to enjoy the process more? And then the question becomes: 'when I’m aligning with the process and not the goals, what does that look like?'” [20:06-20:19]
“Accepting that you’re not perfect but you’re enough…well, I have everything that I need.” [22:36-22:42]
“I’m allowed to not be perfect in my relationship.” [28:58-29:00]
