Though we have so many modern conveniences, we are all busy. But what if we are too busy!? Jesus had the greatest responsibility and mission and yet here we find him not too busy to spend time with his Father.
Jesus faced rejection—and so do we. The pain is real, but how we respond matters. Let’s respond like He did.
By looking at the temptation of Jesus, we can see how He prepared and overcame the devil.
The modern Church has gone from making disciples to arguing about personal preferences. Listen to this message as we examine the calling and process of biblical discipleship.
God's word confirms your identity. In this passage we see God confirming Jesus's identity though the world may disagree Jesus is who He is because God said so!
As we finish the book of Hosea, we see God's sacrificial love on display as Israel is exhorted to return to their Lord. The promise is that God will ransom them and heal their backsliding. This is the promise offered to every soul that turns to God through Christ.
When looking at John the Baptist we see true and Biblical spiritual leadership-not one that leans for themselves, but one that answers a greater calling.
In Hosea 11:12-12:14, God compares the nation of Israel and the nation of Judah, while delivering messages (through the prophet) to both.
How did Jesus “mature” while being man and God? And, what lessons can we learn on how we should grow up?
Culture has shifted the church from a body that serves Jesus to consumers that boast in our brand.
In some of the most tender imagery Hosea has given us so far, God tells Israel that He holds them in His arms like children. We see the heart of God on display as He asks, "how can I give thee up?" We see the promises of God for the future of Israel. As you listen to this message, ponder the absolute and unwavering love that God has for you and be encouraged!
The greatest gift given to mankind shall be called Jesus-for He shall save His people from their sins.
Culture has shifted the church from being a body that cares for one another to a group that just assembles when I feel like it. Unfortunately, the sermon audio has been lost, but we have provided a brief summary of the message for your reflection and benefit as the series progresses.
Hosea chapter ten details what Israel is, and what Israel shall be. They had plowed two furrows next to each other: one to God and one to their idols. But God will not share His glory and Israel will reap what they had sown. The same thing is true in our own lives as well. God will not share His glory. The call to Israel was simple: now is the time to seek the Lord and sow righteousness. When this is done, the harvest will be mercy. This is the call for us today. Seek the Lord. Sow righteousness. Reap mercy.
God chose Israel to be a special people. This unmerited favor was met with shocking betrayal as the people wandered from God to serve idols. In this lesson we see the devastating reward for wandering. The key lesson for us? We cannot continually sow to sin in our lives without harvesting the consequences. Join us as we look at some of the devastating rewards for Israel's wanderings.
In Hosea 8, we see the law of sowing and reaping applied to the Israelites. They had sown to the wind and would reap the whirlwind. Just like in our own lives, they experienced the upfront and the hidden costs of sin. God had appointed a place and way of worship, but the people went their own way. Popular thought today says there are many roads to peace with God, but is this what the Bible says? Join us as we look at Hosea 8.
As God continues to lay out His case against Israel, we discover how badly He wanted to heal them. We also see how dead set Israel was to continue in her sins. God loves to rescue sinners and draw them to Himself. So much so, that if we die in our sins, we cannot lay that at His feet. Through several different word pictures, Hosea reveals to Israel that their refusal to be healed caused them to be worthless, senseless, and useless. In Christ, we have freedom and victory in life. It is ours based on our being in Christ. Will we live out those truths and redeem the time? Join us as we examine Hosea 7.
The Humble King-Luke 2:1-7. A powerful king is now in authority of the modern world but he is no match for the King who is coming to be born
Coming home to the Lord is sometimes the hardest thing to do, but it is absolutely the best thing for us. God shows us His heart for His people in Hosea 6, and the message is clear: God's correction is for our benefit. He wounds Israel to bind her up. At the end of the day, Israel missed the heart of the matter. Simply put, God wants the heart - the inner man. God is far more concerned with who we are than how we appear. Join us as we dive to the heart of the matter.
In Hosea 5, God utters two phrases over Israel. The first is, "I know," and the second is, "I will go." With these two phrases, God tells the people that He is aware of their determination toward sin and His own determination in their judgment. For those who are in Christ, the blessed truth is that God knows you wholly and love you completely. The judgment for your sin was poured out upon the Lord Jesus Christ. Join us tonight as we look at Israel's determination and doom.
Let every thing that hath breath praise the LORD…before the promised Messiah even arrives, we see praise to the Lord.
How often do we ask little of God? Is God just someone to give a little patience with our kids or help us get to work on time or is he a powerful healer who can take us through the deepest of valleys. Take a listen and hear how God wants to work in your life if we would only ask.
Evangelist Bill Prater takes us through David’s experience with grief in the Psalms and testimony of the loss of his son.
Join us as Pastor Bill Prater takes us through Ephesians and his own testimony of how forgiveness can heal your life.
In 2 Samuel 9, King David shows enormous grace to Mephibosheth by inviting him into sonship. This was done not due to Mephibosheth's worth, but for Jonathan's sake. Like Mephibosheth, we are all lame and outcast from the King's table. For Christ's sake, God offers grace and forgiveness. Join us as we examine what it looks like to eat from this table of grace.
Satan has a plan to destroy believers. The bad news is that he is a committed and cunning enemy. The good news is the Bible clue us in to the attacks he will use. Join us tonight as Bro. Prater offers us insights into victory in the Christian life.
Can we reach a point where God lets us go? Romans 1 tells us that God turns people over to a reprobate mind and in our lesson from Hosea, we see that Israel reached this point as a nation. God's message is that Israel's whoredoms were so engrained they were to be left alone. He even warns the nation of Judah to keep separate. Are there people, places, or things that threaten to drag you away from your walk with the Lord? Heed the warnings from Hosea and separate yourself to godliness today!
The greatest promise in Scripture is arriving and fulfilled-and it comes to a young lady named, Mary. Here is the great promise and hope, that guarantee extends to us today.
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. This is God's message to the Israelites. They had knowledge, but they rejected it and forgot it. The result is that sin took their hearts elsewhere. This same thing can happen in the life of a believer. God's sacrificial love will not let us go, but it will not let us off the hook, either. Join us as we look at what happens when God's people are led astray.
As we begin our new series from the Book of Luke, we start with a breaking of the 400 years of silence as Gabriel comes to a man name named Zacharias.
God gave Hosea a strange but specific command in chapter one. Hosea was to go and take a certain kind of woman. And he obeyed. In chapter three, it becomes obvious that Gomer has returned to her old ways. God gives Hosea another command as strange as the first: Go buy Gomer back to yourself. This is a wonderful picture of grace, forgiveness, mercy, and redemption. But, there are stipulations and safeguards. There are also consequences for sin. God had controversy with Israel. Does He have controversy with you? In this lesson, we see the biblical law of sowing and reaping, or cause and effect, on clear display.
The love God has for His people is both severe and sincere. In Hosea chapter two, we see both of these aspects on display. God loves His people enough to judge their sin and cut them off from falling further away. This seems severe, but it is for their own good. God also loves His people enough to allure them back to Himself, providing comfort and hope. This severe and sincere love is for you as well! Join us as we examine God's judgment, grace, mercy, and love through the lens of Hosea.
As we close out II Samuel, we see David getting right with God. What a powerful text as we learn how to come before God after we have blown it.
A nobody with nothing has just seen a great victory but it’s not over. He must continue…
In our first lesson out of the book of Hosea, we set the stage for what is happening in Judah, Israel, and the world around them. Once the context is set, we go verse by verse through the first chapter of this minor prophet. We see that God's orders are difficult, but require action. We see Hosea's obedience to God's command and the coming judgment for Israel outlined in Hosea's life. Finally, we see that in spite of the judgment Israel must walk through, God's love and promises will not fail. Be encouraged! God's love for His children is unbreakable! Even when we walk through the consequences of our sin, His sacrificial love is leading the way.
What is it and how can we avoid it? Take a listen now to see the sin that gets more people later in life or after many years of serving the Lord.
We saw how God calls a nobody, now we will see how God uses a nobody with nothing. When it feels like all we have as God, take courage to His calling-“If God be for us, who can be against us”
In Genesis 3:15, God promises a coming Seed that will crush the serpent's head. As time moves forward, God rules and overrules in the affairs of men and keeps His promises. In this last lesson on Genesis 1-11, we trace the Messianic Seed line from Noah's son, Shem, all the way to Abram (Abraham), the Father of the Jewish people. In this message we are encouraged to rest in God's faithful promises and in His power to work in our lives.
As we begin our new sermon series entitled, Near to Impossible, we look at a man named Gideon. God called him where he was both physically and mentally. He called him to a high calling. How was this going to be done…take a listen to find out
God's plan and command was for mankind to fill the earth and subdue it. In Genesis 11, we see that the people of earth were determined to stay in one place and make a name for themselves. In this lesson, we look at the rebellion of the people and the judgment of God. We examine a few extra-biblical sources regarding what the tower may have signified, and what part Nimrod played in all of this. Ultimately, we see that God's will is going to be accomplished as He confuses the languages and mankind is forced to spread apart. This dispersion leads to many different languages and people groups.
David was used by the Lord to further establish a nation and its people. Though David had many mistakes, he was a man after God’s own heart and had a reputation that sought to help and grow others around him.
Jesus called Peter from fishing with the phrase “follow me.” But Peter denied the Lord and returned to fishing. In this message, we examine the reunion between Peter and the Lord and discover that Jesus meets us where we are and restores us to service.
Genesis 10 details what came from Noah's sons and their families. In this lesson we examine where these descendants spread in the world and some of the people groups that came from them. We trace the Seed line of the Messiah through Shem and his descendants and point out historical markers along the way. All of this is in preparation for Messiah. Through the Messiah all the nations of the earth will be blessed and the Bride of Christ will contain people from every nation, kindred, tribe, and tongue!
Noah stood and preached righteousness in the face of the entire world. Quite literally. But even Noah was susceptible to sin and shame. Furthermore, not all of Noah's children had godly character. There are lessons for us to learn as we look at Noah's failure and the resulting curses and blessings. Join us as we look at questions like: What was Ham's sin? Why curse Canaan? And even: Is there encouragement for parents with wayward children?
As we start a new year, let’s examine the excuses we give and seek to avoid them as God calls us to go forward!
As we consider this chapter and the very close similarities to Psalm 18, we are reminded of David's journaling, meditation and desire to be close to the Lord.
When Noah leaves the Ark, he builds an altar. His sacrifice is one of thanksgiving to God. God accepts Noah's worship and determines to stay future judgments of the magnitude and likeness of the Flood. This common grace is the reason for mankind's continued existence. God's covenant continues in effect to this day and we are all beneficiaries. Listen as we detail the blessings that God poured out on Noah, his family, and all of Creation through His covenant.

The global flood was a cataclysmic event that changed everything about the world, including its inhabitants. It is hard to imagine the wholesale destruction as the fountains of the deep were broken up and the windows of heaven were opened. In His justice and mercy, God judges the world while providing a way to be saved. Join us as we examine Noah's Flood.
As we continue our II Samuel series, take a minute to learn a few lessons from an unnamed wise woman.
With all the business in our society sometimes we forget or ignore the importance of spending time with our God. We make time for what we love and other things are stealing our heart and our joy.
The Bible tells us that Noah walked with God and found favor. Noah and his family were spared the devastation of the flood. The corruption on the earth had reached such levels that God Himself stepped in to bring to ruin what mankind had been ruining since the Fall. We see God's mercy in His interactions with Noah. He gives Noah the plan of escape, He provides Noah the details, He brings the animals, He secures the passengers. Noah simply obeyed. Obedience is the hallmark of victorious Christian living.
As we continue the Joy to the World Christmas Series, let us discover another way to experience joy this Christmas season—by pursuing our purpose. Instead of drifting through life, let us diligently seek the unique purpose that God has placed in our lives. To align ourselves with God’s will, listen to the message and discover your purpose.
As we progress through our series on 2 Samuel, today we will explore ten essential leadership principles that every leader should incorporate into their lives.
The first few verses of Genesis chapter six detail the giant problem that occurred just before the flood. There are differing views on what the Bible means by "sons of God" and the offspring of the marriages between them and the "daughters of men." We take a deep dive into those views and examine Scriptural support. One thing is for sure, Noah found favor. He experienced God's unearned grace, the same grace that flows to us today!
David is at one of the lowest points of his life but he has a calling that still remains. Listen to this message as we learn how to press on, even when we are defeated.
As we begin our new Joy to the World Christmas Series we start with giving thanks. This is our first way of having Joy this Christmas season.
Genesis chapter five unfolds 1,500+ years of the Messianic line. In fact, all of humanity is descended through this line via Noah and his sons. The curse of sin is on full display as we see the phrase "and he died" repeatedly. But Enoch did not die. He walked with God, preached righteousness, and denounced sin. Join us as we examine the line of the promised Seed (Genesis 3:15) and the intricate details of the Bible.

How well are we doing at bringing people to Christ? if this is our mission and our command, then why does it seem to be secondary in our life?
Genesis chapter four contains many firsts recorded in Scripture. From the first murder and lie to the first formal poetry, there is much to explore. Emphasized in this section is the destruction of sin and the futility of depending upon self. Sin drowns us in shame and guilt, but God brings elevation and redemption. Self-reliance leads to boasting and blasphemy, recognizing our frailty leads us to the Cross. Join us as we examine these truths!
Are you waiting on someone to fail? Does it bring you happiness to see a certain person or persons suffering or struggling? God does not want us to live in this defeat. Genesis 2:4-7 gives a more detailed account of God preparing creation for man and the actual creation of man. The Bible tells us that man became a living soul after God breathed the breath of life into him. What does this mean for us today? Every human being, no matter the stage of development, is a soul. Join us as we examine some implications of that powerful truth.
