In a battle of respect and money, a determined Lamar Jackson faces off against the NFL's salary cap and money-saving strategies as he fights for a fair contract with the Baltimore Ravens.
I learned about the NFL's wage scale and the importance of rookie contracts on the Michael Nance Audio Experience podcast. The episode discussed the Lamar Jackson franchise tag issue and whether Leo Messi would come to the MLS. It was highlighted that eight of fourteen quarterbacks on rookie contracts made the playoffs, compared to six of eighteen on non-rookie contracts. David Beckham's 2007 contract with the LA Galaxy showed why the deal for Messi in 2020 was so sweet. However, Messi's lack of English and age could be a barrier, and it could also lead to the narrative that the MLS is a retirement league. Ultimately, it was argued that Messi alone wouldn't be enough to make Inter Miami championship favorites.

In a radical twist of fate, an unexpected manager takes the helm of a tumultuous Chelsea club and must outmaneuver powerful adversaries, a hostile fanbase, and unprecedented injuries to achieve his ambitious goal.
I learned about Chelsea's preseason struggles through the Michael Nance Audio Experience Podcast. Potter, the manager, said that the players told him that it was the worst preseason ever. This stemmed from the club's flux due to the war in Ukraine, the sale of the club, and the purchase of the club by the new ownership group. In addition, their US-based travel, the one game they won, and the unprecedented levels of injuries they had to deal with were all contributing factors. The new ownership group spent a lot of money on young players, which also increased the pressure and noise around the team. Calculating payouts from sports betting odds
The odds also directly relate to the payouts you can expect back in winning bets. There are a few ways to calculate the profit potential.
Negative (change the odds number to positive for the purposes of the equation): 100/Odds * Stake = Profit
For example Odds of -140 and a $50 bet
100/140 * 50 = $35.71
Positive: Odds/100 * Stake = Profit
For example, Odds of +120 and a $75 bet
120/100 * 75 = $90
