Hey, what's a good book to read?: Recent Episodes

I decided to start reviewing books because I just don't like reading the reviews on Amazon & Good Books. People don't tell you why they dislike a book. I want people to know what's good about a book and what they may not like. I hope to explain books rather than critique them. Courtney and I hope to open up all the different parts to these stories and help you guys find a good book.
In this installment of Hey, What's a Good Book? we're going to cover:
What Moves the Dead by T. Kingfisher
Behind Closed Doors by B.A. Paris
Cabal by Clive Barker
Every House is Haunted by Ian Rogers
and, finally, I'm going to give you my take on The Wives by Tarryn Fisher. Courtney successfully convinced me to read it.
In today's episode, I'm going to go over the 4 books by Gillian Flynn. Those books are Sharp Objects, Dark Places, The Grownup, and Gone Girl. The Grownup is actually a novella, not a full scale novel.
In this episode, we are going to look at the Netflix series "The Fall of the House of Usher". It is the third season of The Haunting of Hill House. This series goes through several of Edgar Allen Poe's stories & poems, tying them into the plotline. We'll look at: The Raven, The Fall of the House of Usher, Annabel Lee, The Masque of the Red Death, Murder in the Rue Morgue, The Black Cat, The Tell-Tale Heart, Goldbug, The Pit & The Pendulum, & The Cask of Amontillado.

Finally, I am going to go through several of the short stories in the short story collection: 20 Century Ghosts by Joe Hill. Hopefully, I can convince T to read it.
In today's episode, we are going to cover novels that have been turned into TV series. I review Season 1 & 2 of The Haunting of Hill House. Season 1 is based on the novel of the same name by Shirley Jackson.
Season 2 is based on The Turn of the Screw by Henry James.
We're also going to cover The Midnight Club by Christopher Pike &
Fear Street by R.L. Stine.
We are going to finish with me convincing my mom and daughter to read NOS4A2.
In this episode, I am going to cover all things Hannibal Lecter!!! Let's talk about the novels, the TV shows, and the movies. I am also going to ask for some opinions, so be listening!

& (one of my favorite & in my opinion scariest books) Promise Not to Tell by Jennifer McMahon.

Then I am going to do a recap review of Winterset Hollow by Jonathan Durham and The Perfect Child by Lucinda Berry.
Finally, I am going to convince Courtney to read Horns by Joe Hill
This week's episode is a little longer than normal. We start with my thoughts on the newest Halloween and a discussion of why Halloween is my favorite EVERYTHING when it comes movies. Next, we get into the "review" of:
Fairy Tale, the newest novel by Stephen King
Niceville by Carsten Stroud
& The Clown Hunt by Judith Sonnet.
Finally, I convince Courtney to read The Exorcist's House by Nick Roberts, a native of Southern West Virginia.
