We are Redemption Unveiled Community. We are staying connected to God even though we are really busy.
We have the ability to worry our life away. It gives us this false sense of control over our life. Jesus promises us in Matthew 6 that God will guide us, equip us and will give us what we need today. There is no need to worry about tomorrow.
Do you feel like you are filled with worry and anxiety? Do they seem to drive your decisions?
Sometimes, we think that by worrying about our future, we can prepare to avoid the worst of outcomes, but this is honestly just a way of trying to take control.
God has control and knows us better than ourselves. Is there anyone better to trust with our future?
At the age of 17, Joseph had two dreams that showed him God's promise for his life. It took over 20 years for those promises to come true and the journey wasn't easy for Joseph, but what he learned during the wait prepared him to fulfill the promise God had placed upon his life.
Hope comes at a high cost. Waiting for God's promises to come true in our life is incredibly challenging. The waiting doesn't just last for days. It can last for months, years, even decades. There is no shame in our struggle of waiting.
How do we know when God is making a promise to us and when Satan is making a promise to us? It's ok if this feels confusing, because it can be. Today we are looking at a couple of scriptures that are great examples of how God communicates with us versus how Satan communicates with us.
You know when God makes a promise to you and gives you a glimpse into what your life will look like, but then the path to that life gets really challenging and you start questioning if you actually know what he promised you? This is God's promise coming face to face with Satan's lies. Which one are you going to listen to?
Suffering puts pressure on us. It squeezes us and makes us feel things like stress, anxiety and fear. Remember who you are, who God himself created you to be. He has equipped you for all suffering you will experience in this life.
Just as the title says, life is an adventure. God created an entire adventure for you. What we may not have realized is that the adventure wouldn't always be easy or even fun.
I really like taking a look at moments in Jesus's life where we really get to see his humility. Jesus walked his life with betrayal just like we do and he felt great sadness because of it. Here he was sacrificing his entire life and asking very little of others, but they didn't always show up for him.
Yes, the title is correct. Betrayal will be and is meant to be a part of our walk with God.
Have you noticed how good and easy it can feel to just push someone out of your life because they have hurt you? I believe that this is an opportunity to learn more about how we love others.
It takes time to heal, love and grow with those who have hurt us.
Judas, the man behind the most famous betrayal in the bible. Jesus knew that Judas would betray him, but today, we are talking about that betrayal from a different lens, Judas's betrayal of himself.
What is one of the worst forms of betrayal that really tears us down? Self-Betrayal. We are so hard on ourselves and put so much pressure on our lives, our expectations all while carrying so much responsibility. It's too much yet we continue to to tell ourselves that we aren't good enough.
We are visiting a couple of different chapters this week that help us look into Mary's life as a mother to Jesus. Imagine with me, being the mother of Jesus, having these expectations of what that would look like, and learning that this journey was going to be something very different.
I know that every woman can relate to this. At one point or another in your life, you will feel unwelcomed in a space that you expected to be accepted. We experienced this as children and we continue to experience it as adults.
Let's talk about processing this hurt and how to avoid questioning our worth as a woman.
Do you struggle accepting love from others?
Not only as Christians are we called to give love, but we are also called to be loved.
Join us as we look at a letter believed to be written by John that goes further into defining love and what role it plays in our life as Christians. We must give it and we deserve to receive it.
After exploring our calling to love and grow our capacity to love last week, we are now discussing your call TO BE loved. How do we find people who can help us heal and love us well?
We are continuing on with Paul's letters to the Corinthians and we are looking at a very popular verse in 1 Corinthians. Love is something we can strengthen and exersize, not a destination. Paul gives so much wisdom in his letter about how we should love and what love is.
I love, love, love relationships. We are really going to be looking hard into our relationships, esprecially the ones that we feel betrayed us. In this episode, we define what betrayal can look like in our relationships and I tell you how to access a betrayal guide specific to your situation to help you navigate through the tough times.
Paul was an incredibly influential person in the development of our faith, but not without discouragement. He was a man of conviction who was living the life God created for him, but he faced incredible challenges along the way.
Do you ever find yourself avoiding failure and/or avoiding people who make you feel bad? I used to do this in my life and today I am sharing what I learned from living a life of avoiding disappointment and discouragement. It's time for a perspective shift.
When our prayers go unanswered or our expectations haven't been met, we might begin to experience doubt in God and our beliefs.
Today, we are looking at John the Baptist's experience with doubt and disappointment and what we can learn from it.
We have been persistent with our prayer, but they remain unanswered. Now what?
This is a complicated topic, but one I feel is very important to have. Let's look at what is means to live a persistent life in addition to being persistent with our prayers.
As we continue on with our theme of persistence and faith, we are looking into Luke this week. It's another great story of a woman being persistent and having faith that she will receive what God has promised her.
How would you define faith and when do you feel like it shows up most in your life?
I used to think faith was associated with strength and clarity, but I have learned this isn't necessarily the case. We need to understand when our faith comes into play and how it can help us find our voice and be persistant when God has put a call on our life.
There are two times in the bible that someone changed Jesus's mind and both times it was a woman being persistent and using her voice. Never underestimate the power of your voice.
Whether you are a more talkative, vocal woman or a quieter woman of fewer words, we can all share the struggle of finding our voice and our confidence in who we are. We all will face rejection, which can make us feel like we need to change ourselves to be accepted. Let's avoid hiding ourselves, because God created us as we are meant to be.
We are diving into John 2 this week and looking at the moment Mary made a request to Jesus, he denied her, but Mary stood confident in her purpose for that moment. We take a look at the first miracle Jesus performed that was noted in the bible.
Today, we are looking at an experience that Mary had with Jesus. She put herself out there and made a request, but Jesus denied her. Rejection is never an easy thing, but when we are standing in our place that we were created to be, we can't let the no's keep us from our purpose.
We have headed back to Genesis and are looking into Jacob's story. He is the only person mentioned (I think) to have wrestled with God. What happens next teaches us a lot about who we are and how God pushes us to achieve our purpose.
Ladies, we are warriors. We were created to fight for our purpose and own who we are. We are pretty amazing creations.
We are diving into Matthew this week and looking at how we communicate with God through prayer. We will be learning how to have powerful and effective prayer and putting God's will above our own.
What does it mean to be righteous? How do we have powerful and effective prayer? Today we are talking about how we as women, can show up as we are, with all of our imperfections and brokenness and still be righteous.
After exploring Paul's journey last week of discovering his struggle of good and evil within him, we are diving into Romans 8:18-23 and exploring how powerful governing ourselves with our spirit can be.
Have you ever struggled with feeling significant in this world? Or maybe you don't feel insignificant, but failure can really set you back and knock you down. Today we are talking about two types of ways that we tend to struggle with our significance and how we can overcome and face our own challenges to show up in this world.
