On this special episode we are having a roundtable discussion from our recent attendance of the NHS Disability Summit 2021 that took place just a few weeks ago

We are joined today by Kieranne Page, a Clinical Nurse Specialist in Sexual & Reproductive Health and also Sharon Hudswell, Assistant Service Manager for Medical Education - who are also the co-chairs of the Guys & St Thomas NHS Trust Staff Disability & Long Term Health Conditions Forum!

On this episode we play a few clips from some of the featured speakers from the Summit discussing many initiatives, desired policy changes, current research and also best practices and desires for the continued growth and support of the NHS with its endeavours to improve and identify many elements with NHS Staff working with disabilities and long term health conditions

On this recording we are joined by Sharon Hudswell, Assistant Service Manager of Medical Education

This time we delve into a discussion regarding living with and understanding the Long Term affects of Coronavirus which is now more commonly designated separately as 'Long Covid'

Sharon speaks on her experiences contracting Covid-19, managing her symptoms, explainging intersections in regards to also having long term health condition and how she empowers herself to manage her conditions whilst also giving advice to others

It was a really insightful conversation to have with Sharon on to get a true understanding of just how impactful long covid can be on others.. let alone others with underlying long term health conditions, we humbly thank Sharon for sharing her story, thoughts and lived experiences in such a difficult period

Today we are joined by a member of staff from Guys & St Thomas hospital trust who is dealing with having chronic and severe long term migraines

Our guest prefers to remain anonymous while they discuss how they cope with constant headaches and migraines as a long term health condition

We discusses the physical and mental effects this condition can cause as well as the challenges / outcomes this has presented in their current role

We lastly get specific with medicines involved to help control these conditions, new and promising prevention trials and even a charity that can help others in similar situations that may find such information helpful
