Mitchell Herrema was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He attended Michigan State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in kinesiology.
After completing his undergraduate degree, he remained at MSU to earn his Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree at the College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his residency training at McLaren Oakland Hospital in Pontiac, Michigan.
During fellowship, he performed or participated in over 1,000 total joint arthroplasty procedures, including anterior hip, partial knee resurfacing, revision hip and knee replacement, and total shoulder replacement. Dr. Herrema serves as the Chief of Orthopedic Surgery at Morton Plant Hospital. In addition to being a leader at the hospital, Dr. Herrema’s expertise has been sought after by orthopedic implant companies.

Dr. Jesse Botker is a fellowship-trained, board-certified orthopedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in arthroscopic minimally invasive joint repair and treating the bone, joint, and muscle needs of athletes and active individuals of all ages.

Dr. Ponnusamy received his Medical Degree from Stanford University following a Master of Science Degree and a Bachelor of Science Degree both in Biomedical Engineering with honors from Johns Hopkins University. He then completed his residency in orthopaedic surgery also from Johns Hopkins University. After residency, he completed a Hip and Knee Replacement Fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. During his fellowship, he received additional training and earned a Master of Science in Surgery. Dr. Peter Knoll is a joint replacement specialist at Tri-State Orthopaedic Surgeons in Evansville, IN. After graduating Summa Cum Laude from the University of Notre Dame, he attended medical school at Case Western Reserve University and then completed his residency in orthopedic surgery at Wright State University. He continued his training with a fellowship in Adult Reconstruction at the University of Virginia, which allowed a full immersion in all aspects of joint replacement and arthritis management. Dr. Bedikian earned his doctorate in osteopathic medicine from Midwestern University/Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine, where he also completed an Osteopathic residency and Orthopedic Surgery internship. Dr. Kuhn joins Orthopedic Associates of Middletown in Connecticut after a 27-year career of distinguished military service in the United States Navy. Prior to joining the practice as a distinguished sports medicine subspecialist, he served with distinction achieving the rank of Commander. He served as the Chief of Orthopaedics while stationed at the Naval Hospital Camp Lejeune, North Carolina, and in support of Operation Enduring Freedom at the Expeditionary Medical Facility in Kuwait. We're excited to interview one of our first PortableConnect® patients, Dr. Darren Biehler. Dr. Biehler has been an Anesthesiologist with Lake Norman Anesthesia Associates in Mooresville, NC for the last 27 yrs. After completing med school at the University of North Carolina, he completed his residency at the University of NC Hospitals.
He has been a competitive athlete most of his life, performing as a Sprinter/Decathlete, national competitor in Powerlifting and Olympic Weightlifting, Triathlons, and as a former CrossFit competitor.
