March 26, 2023 - WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE STRONG IN THE LORD? It’s been said that true strength in a person is measured by how much it takes to make them quit!… Strength in our faith is not measured by a one-time occurrence…but rather by endurance, perseverance and a relentless resolve to stand through adversity, bad circumstances and even persecution. We are encouraged by the word from the Lord in Revelation to HOLD ON…and BE STRONG IN THE LORD!… Even though some of life‘s most difficult and impossible challenges!
March 19, 2023 - WHO LIKES RIDDLES?…Who/What is the beast from the sea?… Who is the beast from the earth?… Revelation 13 seems impossible to figure out…but in fact, if you use scripture to interpret scripture, it’s really easy and makes the rest of Revelation make sense! YOU DON’T WANT TO MISS THIS! You will see the Bible come alive in this message, especially, as you look at the world around us which will bring to light some of the things that may seem confusing in this passage.
March 12, 2023 - YOU ARE IN A BATTLE…but it’s not against who you think…it’s not against people or things of this world…the battle we face is a spiritual battle against an enemy who is working behind the scenes continuously to accuse us and take us out! How do we “overcome”, defeat this enemy and win this battle? We continue in our series through Revelation, entitled “The Overcomers”.

If the message that is to be brought is not what people want to hear, how brave do the messenger have to be to still stand and deliver the message? Would you deliver that message? Learn about two witnesses God places on earth during the tribulation to testify of the one true God, so people can repent and be saved! You will learn more in the Bible tomorrow than you probably have in any other message and will be inspired and motivated to apply God‘s word, as you see the Bible come alive in Revelations 10 and 11.
Feb 19, 2023 - WHAT WOULD IT TAKE FOR YOU TO LOOK TO JESUS AND GIVE YOUR LIFE TO HIM?If you were about to claim bankruptcy, and someone offered to pay off all your financial debt, ALL OF IT…would you turn them down and take all the penalty upon yourself, when you could have been set free and given a new start? Jesus took the wrath of God upon Himself on the cross to pay the penalty for the sin of all mankind so we can be free to live for Him! DONT TURN AWAY!…turn to the One who gives life!!!

SOLD OUT…. what does it mean to be “sold out“ for Christ?… what does that person live like? Is it someone that just knows a lot of scripture and theology… Is it someone that listens to Christian music and wears Christian T-shirts all the time… Is it someone that always posts Bible verses and Christian Facebook posts?… our society may even think it’s someone that commits to church attendance every single week, regardless of the weather. All of these characteristics are great and should be present in every believer, but these characteristics alone do not make a person SOLD OUT. What makes a person different and “sold out” is their heart… they have a Spirit-led resolve in the core of their being that wants to DENY themself and to LIVE for and STAND for Christ no matter the cost!!! We will see some people in Revelation chapters 6 and 7, who, during the tribulation, denied themself, lived for and made a stand for Christ, and even gave their life for the faith, resisting the world system and evil! It doesn’t get any more SOLD OUT than that! God is calling you to be “sold out” for Christ!…you may never have to die for the faith… But we are all called to be a living sacrifice for Christ, to deny ourselves, and to live for, and make a stand for Him no matter the cost! You do not want to miss this message!

BLESSED ARE THOSE WHO READ, HEAR AND KEEP THESE WORDS OF PROPHECY…FOR THE TIME IS NEAR…those are the words from our Lord regarding this book of Revelation! Last week we had a timely message, looking at the red horse, and diving deep into Bible prophecy, showing us what is happening before our very eyes are talked about in scripture! That should encourage you that all scripture is true, on time, and accurate! This week we finish our understanding of the four horses of the apocalypse by looking at the black horse and the pale horse that is to come during the tribulation. What are these prophetic horses and their riders to bring to the earth? How significant will it be? How can it encourage us today and move us to a Spirit-led life of holiness and a closer walk with Christ?

WHAT IN THE WORLD IS GOING ON?
Russia attacking Ukraine…are they on the rise?… Iran making a nuclear bomb, marking Israel as the target on the side of the delivery rocket…rumors of China planning against Taiwan… wars and rumors of wars, nation rising against nation…What does all this mean? What are these events pointing to? Does the Bible have anything to say about this? During the tribulation, after the white horse comes on the scene, whose rider is the antichrist…behold a red horse emerges. This rider has a great sword and promotes war…what war? Past, present, or future? Again, what does the Bible say? This is where we start to see the Bible look like an early newspaper for the events that are happening and are to come!… it will strengthen your faith in God and trust in His word… And it will give you peace and comfort to know that no matter what the future holds, God holds the future! Warriors of the cross…we are more than conquerors through Christ!… Things are not falling apart, they are falling into place!

WHAT IS REPENTANCE? WHY IS IT NECESSARY?
The call for people to repent is frequently found in the Old and New Testament...it’s a common theme all throughout scripture...so why is it not frequently preached on and adequately explained today?
Repentance is necessary for true salvation, which means repentance is necessary to experience the full grace and mercy of God! God leads us to repentance through conviction, not condemnation, by his Word...God’s conviction is healthy and necessary to show us we are on the wrong path...thus giving us the opportunity to exit the old life for the new rebuilt life in Christ and the truth of His Word!A moving message from God’s word entitled Rebuilt Through Repentance and truly understanding what repentance is and what it looks like in our life. This message could change you and your family’s life forever!

T’S THE 4TH QUARTER…the season is on the line, the odds are stacked against the away team, behind with less than 2 minutes remaining, who does the coach put on the field?… THE PLAYMAKERS! Your life has a purpose…God has placed you here for such a time as this!…His command before He ascended into heaven and told everyone to be ready and look for His return was to make Disciples!… THE PLAYMAKERS! The command was not to just make converts, the command was definitely not to make church members…The command was to make disciples!…there is a huge difference in who they are, how they are trained, and how they “show up” when the game is on the line!

WHICH PATH ARE YOU GOING TO TAKE?
In Matthew chapter 7, Jesus describes  two distinct directions and types of people in different teachings to conclude the sermon on the mount. He starts this distinction of who true followers of Christ are, and those who aren’t, by describing the entrance and path to take as being either broad or narrow...they go in separate directions for eternity...destruction (h***) or life (heaven). Then he makes a really distinct and interesting point, “many” are on this road to destruction, and only a “few” are on the road to life.Later in the passage, he says “not everyone who calls me Lord” will enter my kingdom...What does all this, and the rest of the passage, mean in regard to salvation and being a follower of Christ?

DO YOU LOOK FOR THE EASY WAY?...OR THE HARD WAY?
When completing physical tasks in life, it’s a no-brainer that we search for the easiest way…But this is not what we should expect or set out for spiritually. There are even some things in life that we know will not be easy and will be challenging at times...finishing a degree, raising a child, starting a business, working through difficulties in relationships and marriage...but we know all of those things are worth it in the end! Better said...some things are just worth fighting for! The same is true spiritually!... God has a direction he has set us in that will not be easy...in fact he promises we will face opposition if this task is completed faithfully...and his promise is to deliver those who are faithful and turn against those who oppose you. Will you be found faithful?

THERE IS POWER IN INTERCESSORY PRAYER!!!Many of us are here today because there was a mom, dad… Someone…on their knees pleading to God for His guidance over your life and you can testify to that power! As we celebrate our moms this Sunday, we have a timely message, reminder, and motivation to the power of intercessory prayer, the plea of seeking God‘s hand, direction, provision, protection, and plan over our lives!

TAKE 2!... last week, we had such an amazing baptism service, and the Lord moved in such a way, that he led us into a different
message than what was planned... and we saw how the Lord came back for Thomas, Peter and the disciples one week later to make
their faith REAL so they would get on fire for him!
Jesus told Thomas that he believed because he had seen, but
blessed are those who have not seen and yet still believe!... so how do we not see, yet still believe?… The Spirit of God moving in us
through His Word!
So… Here is our timely message for this Sunday!… we start chapter 7 of Ezra in our series entitled “Return and Rebuild”
ARE YOU COMMITTED TO THE WORD?... are you sold out relentlessly to Christ and His Word?...it is the only way you’ll be ready for what you face today and the days to come.
The Lord is looking throughout the whole earth, to find the hearts who are relentlessly committed, SOLD OUT, to him… And then they can walk by faith, knowing they are READY...because God‘s promise is that he will prove himself strong on their behalf! (2 Chronicles 16:9)

March 27, 2022 - THE OPPOSITE OF QUITTING IS PERSEVERING...inside
perseverance is a spiritual growth and faith building lesson that is
never learned in quitting. What is God trying to teach you?
As soon as the Israelites return to Jerusalem to rebuild the temple,
coming out of a season in captivity because of sin, they face
immediate resistance and opposition from the people there and
their first response was to quit the work of the Lord and retreat to
selfishly living life for themselves.
Now after presented with eye opening truth and conviction from the
Lord through Haggai and Zechariah, the Lord stirs in their heart to
resume building the temple, and immediately again they’re faced with opposition!
What will they do this time?
PERSEVERE THROUGH OPPOSITION!
March 20, 2022 - DARE TO GET UP!!!!...no matter what has knocked you down
in the past, no matter what is getting you down right now, or
what may get you down in the future...No matter how long
you’ve been down or how destroyed you may be... If you knew
that guaranteed VICTORY is ahead, would you GET UP?

March 13, 2022 - Completing and finishing the task the Lord Jesus has given us is going to require us to endure adversity and opposition and resolve in our hearts to never quit!
Continuing in our sermon series entitled Return and Rebuild going through the book of Ezra, we entered chapter 4 last week seeing that the Israelites encounter deception, discouragement, fear from being troubled by the opposition, and frustration in their start to rebuilding the temple... Now in the second half of chapter 4 they will encounter false accusations against their character as well as forceful opposition of power and authority to make them quit!
How do we overcome these types of opposition and keep our focus on what God has
called us to?
How do we endure personal attacks and acts of force that come as a result of us
standing with Christ in a deceived and unbelieving culture?
March 6, 2022 - Think back to a time when you wanted to quit something...Maybe that time is now!
What happened, or what is happening, to make you feel like giving up is the only
option? Did somebody deceive you, discourage you, make threats and trouble you,
frustrate you, present lies and false accusations against you, maybe even bully you into
quitting with authority and power?
The bottom line is when things don’t go our way, when circumstances are hard and
don’t go as planned, when people set themselves against us, and ultimately when we
face adversity of any kind... It’s easy to just want to quit!
But our Lord is not a quitter! And if His Spirit is in you, that means that you have the
strength to not be a quitter either!
February 27, 2022 - ARE YOU A FAN OR A FOLLOWER OF CHRIST?
The difference is in the heart behind your praise, the focus of your praise and the conditions of your praise!
Fans for a sports team may come and go depending on wins and losses, or even who the players are on the team, but a follower will stay with a team regardless of the circumstances because their allegiance is with this one team!
Is your praise and allegiance to Christ dependent upon your feelings, your desires being met, or what’s going on around you?...
Or are you devoted to Christ no matter what!
If that’s the case, He is always the object of your praise no matter what!

In Ezra chapter 2, God takes the time to list individually the people and families that were involved in this “return” to what he wanted to do individually in the lives of each person, as well as corporately through “His people” returning together to rebuild His temple!
Today, God has called his people, collectively known as “the church“, to bond together and be all in and committed to the task that he has given the church!
If God takes the time to list all these people out individually, don’t you think you and
your family are individually important to the task that God wants to complete through
the church?
We are “the body of Christ“ and each part must complete its task for the body to
function properly!

ARE YOU A SURVIVOR?... not physically, but are you a spiritual survivor in an anti-God culture that’s trying to brainwash you and change the way you think, make decisions and live to match the times?
How do we survive spiritually around such a constant influence from a God-less culture? How do we help our kids survive? How we encourage and help others survive?
The motto and theme from the show “Survivor” was “outwit, outplay, outlast”. A similar theme could be claimed spiritually, although this is not a game! To be a “survivor“ spiritually, we must “out- trust, out-stand, and out-live“!
What does it look like when we make a stand like this in a God-less culture? How does God use it for his glory?

WOLVES IN SHEEPS CLOTHING...the Bible told us they would be present among us, and in this biblically deviant culture combined with the increased greed, pride and deception in the heart of man, especially amongst those who call themselves pastors, they are more prevalent than you think. In fact, they are often undetected and even popular/glorified in our culture...so why aren’t they called out for who they are and what they teach?
The big problem is, many people who call themselves Christians today are being duped and deceived themselves by these false teachers, most of the time because they do not know what the Bible says, so they can even notice when somebody has deviated from it. This has left the door wide open for Satan to use these false teachers to lead people astray, either following a false/fabricated Jesus that’s made up in their mind, or leading people away from a life of sanctification in Christ and into more worldliness in the culture.
Here is how Satan uses a false teacher to deceive,...he is often filled with 90% truth, and 10% lies! Do you know God‘s word well enough to raise red flags in your heart and mind when that 10% is touched on?
How do you know if someone is a false teacher? Are there false teachers in our world today that need to be identified so people can stay away from them?

ARE YOU THANKFUL?... not just when you’re reminded, or when somebody brings it to your attention, but is your heart’s cry one of gratitude and thankfulness to God who has given you every single thing you have, realizing that you cannot take credit for any of it, or do anything to definitively ensure that you keep it?
Are you thankful even in the midst of hardship, trials, difficulty, adversity and less than desirable circumstances that happen in life?
What if the opposite of being thankful, was not just being unthankful, but was a sign of idolatry? Is there possible idolatry in our heart such as materialism, greed, covetousness, pride, self regard and promotion?
How do we ensure an attitude and life of thankfulness, and not idolatry...thus moving away from its evil and destructive grips...manifesting a life of Christ likeness that has an eternal focus?
What effect does that have on our life?

ALCOHOL...one of the most highly used and abused drugs in our society.
Any major event or venue in our in culture is expected to have alcohol present and available...it was just deemed essential by our society during the height of a pandemic where the ABC Store remained open while other businesses were commanded to close, even churches.
Nothing affects people’s lives across the spectrum (marriage and relationships, mental and physical health, employment, etc) like drugs and alcohol. Over the last 20-30 years, and especially in the last 1 1/2 years during the pandemic, alcohol consumption has increased in society and in the church.
So what does the Bible have to say regarding this issue? Is this a “grey” area in scripture, so therefore relative truth can take precedent?...or is there absolute truth from God’s word that can anchor us and guide us in all of our choices and decisions regarding alcohol consumption?
God is not the author of confusion and would not “leave us hanging” on such an issue that potentially causes so much harm in society and the enemy uses to destroy people’s lives.
Many people have opinions and feelings on the subject...but we know opinions and feelings don’t matter...only truth from God’s word does...so, with no opinions, legalism, or false narratives of man...what DOES the Bible have to say? WHO CAN TAME THE TONGUE?
Is the old saying, “Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me”, a truthful saying? Or can our words hurt others, and even ourselves, scarring us and others for life?
We live in a world where the words from the tongue of people are used to hurt others, gossip, slander, lie, tell coarse jokes, curse...we hear it at work, on TV, in locker rooms, in music...it’s everywhere we go. So, how are followers of Christ to speak?
Does the Bible have anything to say about how we speak and use our tongues as believers?...many people do not know.

Where should a Christian stand on the issue of abortion?...is this an issue that has flexibility for relative truth and varying beliefs in the church?...or is this an issue of absolute truth from scripture?
Is this really a social issue?...political issue?...or is this a theological and moral issue?

EVER HAD SOMETHING STOLEN FROM YOU? How did it make you feel? If someone was planning to steal something from you, your family, or your friends...wouldn’t you want to expose them so they would not succeed?
There is a “thief” on the loose, and he is stealing people’s identities in various ways, causing a lot of pain and harm to individuals, families and society.
WHO ARE YOU?... Male or Female?...does this even matter?... Is this decision up to you, your feelings, your psychology?...or is this something that is hard-wired in by your creator by design for a greater cause and purpose in your life?
What does the Bible say about this?
At the core of your existence and life here on earth is the concept of who you are! You were created with specificity and uniqueness, with a plan and purpose to accomplish something greater than yourself that God wants to do through you...don’t let the enemy come and steal that design and destroy who God has created you to be!

HOMOSEXUALITY... if Jesus were walking the earth now, as he did during New Testament times, when he so often talked to the disciples and the culture, teaching them all things...what would he say on this subject?
How can we as the church, speak the truth in love on this subject? How do we respond and share God's truth to friends and family members who are in support of or are living in this lifestyle, and bring light to the topic without heat?

THE BIBLE REFERS TO OUR BODIES AS “ THE TEMPLE” OF GOD...what does that mean? What is the context of this application and why is it important?
We are continuing our sermon series this week called “ Counter Culture” and we are taking a specific look the next 2 weeks at the expectations of sexual purity in God's word and in our culture...there is a huge difference! Who do you follow? Many would say God understands the culture and time we live in now and it is okay when we “give in”? Is that true? Can we have our sin and Jesus too? What does the Bible say?
Does God really expect us to honor him with our bodies?, especially those who call themselves Christ-followers?
One of the best ways we can resist our enemy that seeks to destroy, and in turn, honor God with the lives and bodies he has given us, is to live a life of sexual purity...even in the midst of living in the most sexually charged culture in history!

THERE IS A DRAGON ON THE LOOSE... it is destroying marriages, homes and lives, and the church has been silent about it for way too long!
The temptation and pull of lust is a tool the enemy is using that leads to addictions like pornography and sexual sin and is running rampant in our society.
What are the effects of lust and pornography in our lives and in our society? How can we fight back and slay the dragon of lust and pornography that fuels many sexual desires that fall outside the parameters of God's word, and his desire for healthy sexual relationships within the bounds of marriage between a man and woman?

A STORM HAS DEVELOPED ACROSS OUR WORLD THE PAST YEAR AND A HALF IN THE FORM OF A VIRUS...how can the Church be a calm in the midst of this storm? What would Jesus say to us, both individually and collectively as a body of Christ, on how we are to live and conduct ourselves in the midst of the chaos, emotion, division, and uncertainty that this crisis has created?

WHAT IS TRUTH? Who defines it? Is there such thing as absolute truth...or is all truth relative?
Our world has become increasingly more divided and deceived on many issues facing our culture because of this underlying foundational issue of defining truth...and if we have an improper stance on this very issue right here, it will mislead you in your thinking, heart and actions in life...and ultimately affect where you and others who are misled spend eternity!

WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE WHEN THE CHURCH AND THE CULTURE MEET? A better question may be, what should it look like?...because in recent years there have not been many great examples.
What does God call us to do and who does he call us to be as followers of Christ in this world that is ever so changing, chaotic, divisive and in the midst of it all, looking for hope?
How do we address the culture with truth and love regarding some of the most sensitive and divisive issues in our world today?
What does the Bible say on these issues?...would Jesus stay silent and accept sinful conduct as the norm?...would he yell, scream and call names from a picket line?...if not, how would he address the culture?
For far too long the church has been silent on issues that the enemy is using to destroy peoples lives...and he is using this to his advantage to deceive many...even inside the churches of 21 century America and the world!
Will we, as the church of Jesus Christ, continue to just stand by, stay quiet and fade into the shadows...or will we be salt and light and speak the truth in love boldly to people in a world that so desperately needs it?
Come join us at Impact this Sunday and in the weeks ahead as we start a new series called “Counter Culture: Speaking the Truth in Love”.
God has a work still to do in the culture through the church in these final days and it will not be completed if we yell, scream and get mad...or if we remain silent regarding the truth of Gods word!
It is time for the church, the Bride of Christ, to be everything Christ died on the cross for it to be!
