Jesus said that He is the light of the world (John 8:12) and He also said that we are the light of the world, Matthew 5:14. This is possible because those of us who trust in Him are one with the Father and the Son and His light shines through us. This was accomplished when Jesus returned to the Father and sent His Spirit to dwell in those of us who receive Him and obey His word. When we respond in love to those around us, His light pours out radiant joy, peace, and love to change hearts and circumstances and drive out darkness. In this episode, we look at examples of men and women who demonstrated great faith and we are told that they pleased God! As followers of Jesus Christ, we have the unlimited potential to see mountains move when we walk in faith. Jesus told His disciples that their “unbelief” kept them from experiencing victory in Matthew 17:20. Now th1at we have the promise of His Holy Spirit dwelling in us, nothing should be impossible. Let’s go boldly to His throne of grace and find help to walk in His victory over every work of the defeated foe! In the scriptures we read that wisdom is not a matter of age, education, or the accumulation of knowledge. Wisdom is found in the person of Jesus Christ, in whom all true wisdom and knowledge dwells. To know Him through His word and spending time in His presence makes one wise. One of the greatest blessings we share as followers of the Lord Jesus is JOY! This joy is not circumstantial; it is an experience that defies description and transcends all worldly happiness. It is found only in the pure light of His Presence. Jesus promised that no one can take the JOY that is found in Him. Let the JOY of the Lord be your strength! The scripture reading today is from Mark 4 and describes four types of ground; however, only one is fruitful. True faith is the ability to stand on His promises and His word regardless of what is happening around you in the natural world. As children of the VICTORIOUS King, we are promised His protection when we trust in Him and believe what His word says. To say you believe while wringing your hands in anxious worry is not faith. It’s time true believers arise and live in the reality of your position – with Christ, far above ALL principalities, powers, and every form of evil and wickedness. Be strong in Him and in His mighty power and stand! Today’s reading from Isaiah 60 reminds us of the Victory that indwells those who love the Lord Jesus! We are partakers of His Divine nature in Christ and we celebrate His victory in the taking of communion. Even as darkness covers the earth, His GLORIOUS resurrected Spirit with His power and love is alive in us. 1 Peter 2:4-10 reveals the truth of His manifest glory in His children who have been delivered out of darkness into His marvelous light to advance His Kingdom to the glory of GOD! In John 6:63, Jesus said that His words are spirit and life. The mystery hidden in this profound truth is supernatural and is described by David in Psalm 119. In this episode, Karen shares the testimony of a man she knows who this week experienced breakthrough in the midst of his grief while meditating on His word. Whatever your situation, His truth is your answer, meditate on His words and you will say with the Psalmist, “I will walk about in freedom… for you have set my heart free”. A sure way to overcome all feelings of condemnation and religiosity is to know absolutely who dwells in you. Throughout the New Testament, Paul and others describe the reality of the fullness of the Godhead, embodied in Jesus Christ, now abiding in His followers. The topic for today’s podcast comes from 1 Peter 5:5-10. In verse 7, we are told to cast all of our cares upon Him because He cares for you. As a follower of Jesus Christ, and a child of the living God, we have many wonderful promises of His provision and protection when we choose to stand on His word by faith. This requires diligence and action on our part to actually “do” what the word says so that we may receive His promises. There are many scriptures that reveal we are to be watchful, diligent, and alert to be careful to avoid the traps and snares of the enemy who is prowling about to “devour” those who are passive. In Hebrews 4:12 we read, For the word of God is living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword…yet do we comprehend that our Lord Jesus Christ is the Word? In this lesson, Karen goes through the scriptures to reveal the essence of the most powerful word that has ever or that will ever be. The Word of God as embodied in the person of Jesus Christ. The English word for peace doesn’t accurately convey the full meaning of the Hebrew word, Shalom, or the Greek equivalent, Eirene in scripture. In this episode, Karen provides a brief overview of the concept of peace that describes Jesus Christ, our Lord and Prince of Peace. Of particular interest to the conversation is the phrase “set at one again”. The peace of Jesus Christ is first and foremost a peace that is found only in reconciliation to God the Father. The Christian life is not passive. Your progression in the faith requires continual diligence. You must learn to actively resist the enemy and defend yourself against his tactics. In this episode, Karen shares a 2-part process from scripture to safeguard your soul against the deception of the enemy. We often hear Christians say things like, “God tells us to use wisdom”… to justify actions that are counter to biblical teaching in the name of “wisdom”. What they are really referring to in this case is not the wisdom of God, but man. God’s wisdom always aligns with truth found in the word of God. In this episode, Karen highlights a passage from the book of Daniel to illustrate the courage of a man who refused to bow to man’s wisdom, even the command of the King himself in order to honor His God. Throughout the New Testament, Paul and others instruct believers on how to progress in our journey of faith. Our standard is none other than the Lord Jesus Christ. In the natural, this is an impossible endeavor. However, for believers having the Spirit of the Lord, we are to “put off” the old man and “put on” Christ, the new man renewed in the knowledge of Him. In this episode, Karen talks about the pitfall and distraction of entering into the sinkhole of another person’s drama. God never intended that we become responsible for “fixing” others. He alone carries our burdens (Matthew 11:28-30). Counsel is worthless unless it points back to the word of God and the freedom and rest that He alone provides. Resist the temptation to become the “fixer”. It’s not your job! Point them to Jesus Christ and His promises and preserve your sanity and peace. In Romans 8:1, we read that there is no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. In speaking with believers, many do not understand the distinction between condemnation and conviction. In this episode, Karen shares a personal story to illustrate that conviction of the Holy Spirit reveals the tenderness of God’s grace to align our thoughts and actions with the word of God. Sin always begins as a thought and progresses into words and/or actions (James 1:13-15). When convicted, a believer has the choice to agree with God and turn from the sinful thought, word, or action and escape the entanglement of the flesh (Hebrews 12:1), or she can harden her heart and proceed in rebellion against the will and word of God. Condemnation is to face the judgment of God, without the cleansing blood of Jesus. The believer of God always has hope of the restoration of fellowship with God when she confesses her sin, turns from it, and receives His mercy, forgiveness, and cleansing of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Throughout the gospels we read about the compassion of Christ and how He was moved with compassion to act on behalf of people. The gospels provide insight as to the heart of God when we read how He was moved to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, give sight to the blind, feed the hungry and raise the dead. As His new creation, He has placed His heart in us through the Holy Spirit so that we also feel compelled to minister and serve others in His love. Karen shares personal testimony of how His heart of compassion moves us to act when we encounter those in need. With this heart and mind, in the power of His Spirit, we reveal the kingdom of God to the world through tangible acts of love. In Christ, All of God’s promises are yes and AMEN! In Revelation 2:25, Jesus makes a promise to those who keep His works to the end. If you’ve ever wondered what works He desires for you to accomplish and how to be effective in your walk, this episode is key! In this episode, Karen dives into the concept of knowledge in the context of our relationship with Jesus Christ. In John 17:1-8, Jesus prays for His disciples and reminds the Father that these have “known surely” that Jesus was of God and their knowledge of Him was true. The Greek word in verse 8 is the same word for know that Peter expressed in John 6:69. It is the word, ginosko, #G1097 in Strong’s concordance and refers to a deep knowledge, similar to the intimacy between a husband and wife. We come to know Him by abiding in His presence, by studying and meditating on His word and we grow into wisdom as we apply this knowing by ministering to others in our daily life. When we know Him, we are eager to release HIs freedom, peace and joy to set others free. Are you a ruminator? Stop it. In this episode, Karen shares how she used the word of God to transform her thoughts and her life. Like most aspects of the kingdom, the message is simple. It’s the application of the message that gets us hung up. Discipline makes all the difference. If you want to experience transformation, you must learn to filter every emotion and thought through scripture and not allow the enemy to invade the precious territory of your mind. When we are sensitive to His Spirit, He is faithful to restore us into His perfect will. In the wake of last week’s ruling in the US Supreme Court, many believer's are experiencing greater than usual spiritual battles. In this episode, Karen shares practical tactics from scripture in Ephesians 6:10-18 to encourage you to stand in His victory (1 Cor. 15:57) over every evil attack (2 Timothy 4:17-18). When we stand firm in our faith, and do not give way to fear, our God is pleased (Hebrews 10:36-39). His supernatural blessings of love, joy and peace rain on His children, even in the midst of trials and persecution (Acts 14:17). To God be all glory through our Lord Jesus Christ! Rain down, you heavens, from above, and let the skies pour down righteousness; let the earth open, let them bring forth salvation, and let righteousness spring up together. I, the LORD have created it. Isaiah 45:8.
Do you know that the Lord Jesus was sent to extend His Kingdom from Heaven to earth? See Luke 4:43. Jesus spent 3 years of His earthly ministry preaching and teaching His Kingdom principles, mostly through parables. He told His disciples that the mysteries of the Kingdom were hidden from others and given to them (Matthew 13:11). For those of us who choose to believe His teaching and to receive His Life, we become His children born again of His Spirit, and His Kingdom now dwells within us! (Luke 12:32; Luke 17:21). We are released from the bondage of sin and death and transferred immediately into His Kingdom (Romans 8:2; Colossians 1:3). God’s purpose and intent is that His new creation express and reflect His Kingdom culture to the world (2 Cor. 5:17; Galatians 5:16-26). This podcast is a bit longer than most because Karen shares a personal testimony of how she was able to manifest the Kingdom reality in her own life to overcome an alcohol addiction. We have the victory in Christ!
By order of royal command! But seek first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you (Matthew 6:33). Jesus taught more about Kingdom principals than anything else, mostly in the context of parables. His disciples had trouble grasping the full understanding of the Kingdom message because they were anticipating the earthly restoration of Israel. After His resurrection, Jesus spent 40 days with them continuing this teaching (Acts 1:3). When the Pharisees asked Jesus about the coming of the Kingdom of God, He responded, The kingdom of God does not come with observation; nor will they say, see here! Or see there! For indeed, the Kingdom is within you, Luke 17:20. We, His children must learn to take hold of the kingdom here and now and live in the authority that His sacrifice restored to us (Matt. 11:12). You are a walking gospel of Jesus Christ! (1 John 4:17). At the moment of the rebirth, your spirit is made alive and perfect because you are now one spirit with the Lord (1 Cor. 6:17). If we were only a spirit, we would have no work to do. But, since we are a 3-part being, we have a role to play in the sanctification of our soul and body. To “walk in the Spirit” we must align our soul (mind, will, emotions) with the truth He has already placed in our spirit by renewing our minds (Romans 12:2; Ephesians 4:23-24). We can operate in a unified spirit, soul, and body and if we do, the Spirit flows freely in us and through us to impact the world with His love (John 7:38; 2 Timothy 2:20-21; Ephesians 2:10). Karen shares a personal testimony of how God healed her grandbaby when her spirit, soul, and body acted in alignment to His word.
The post-resurrection revelation of Jesus Christ to the apostle Paul inspired over half of the writings in the New Testament. Paul wrote about this mystery throughout the epistles, which is Christ in us, the hope of glory! Colossians 1:27. Our faith is the only faith in the world that believes God dwells in us. If this is true, why aren’t many of us living in this reality? Why aren’t we experiencing the same and greater works that Jesus did? John 14:12-14. In this episode, Karen discusses the key to understanding and walking in the power of the Spirit as the “new creation” rather than living in the “dead works” of religious experience. If you are a believer of the Lord Jesus Christ, you’ve already been perfected. Yes, it’s true! In Christ we have been sanctified, justified (1 Cor. 6:11) and perfected (Hebrews 10:14) by His sacrifice. Unfortunately, many of us live with under a sin consciousness rather than a righteousness consciousness (2 Cor. 5:21) when our experience does not measure up with who God says we are in Christ. In this episode, Karen constructs a composite “sketch” of the Victorious Believer and encourages us to press on toward the goal with Paul (Philippians 3:12-16) to rise to our New Creation reality (2 Cor. 5:17).
In this episode, Karen reads the account of the sinful woman in Luke 7:44-47 and relates her own previous life of rebellion to the gratitude expressed by this woman for Jesus. She contrasts the love and mercy of Christ to religion and religious people who “see” the speck in the lives of others without acknowledging the “log” in their own lives. Those who have been forgiven much; love much in return and reflect their gratitude in allowing His Spirit to fill them and overflow into the lives of others, John 7:38.
In Matthew 22:37-40, Jesus tells us the 2 greatest commandments; love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, and love your neighbor as yourself. Every other commandment (and there are over 1000!) in the New Testament is covered in these two commands. In this episode, Karen shares a personal experience of how God used her to overcome pride and retaliation to be love to someone who intended to rip her off. Through her obedience, she witnessed supernatural provision to meet her need and an opportunity to be love in response to darkness.
How can we learn from the Israelites who failed to enter the Promised Land and the promise of God’s rest because of their unbelief? As New Covenant followers of Jesus Christ, we are told to be diligent to enter His rest, Hebrews 4:11. However, this rest is not passive. The rest we enter is based on our active belief that compels us to push through spiritual obstacles that stand between us and the promises we have in Christ, 2 Cor.1:20. When we say we “believe” we must act according to that belief and take the VICTORY that Jesus already paid the price for us to have. We are in a real, yet unseen battle. We have an enemy that will attempt to block us from receiving what is legally ours in Christ. True rest is found on the other side of enemy lines when we use the authority and power of our Lord Jesus Christ to push through in faith. Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you (Luke 10:19).
In Hebrews 3-3 Paul reminds us of the rebellion of the Israelites who never entered the promised rest because of their unbelief. They heard the word of God through Moses and had experienced His mighty acts in their deliverance from the Egyptians. They experienced God’s provision in the desert in the form of manna and water from a rock. Yet, with all of the evidence, they refused to enter into the Promised Land and His rest because of their fear of the people in the land. In Hebrews 3:19, Paul tells us that they could not enter His rest because of their unbelief. So what’s our lesson in this? In this episode, Karen shares insights from scripture to help you find rest for your soul in Jesus Christ.
As followers of the Lord Jesus Christ, His death, burial, and resurrection gave us the victory over all the work of the enemy. We have been translated from darkness into His Kingdom (Colossians 1:13) and His Spirit of LIFE dwells within us. His victory provides so much more than many have been taught – we haven’t just been given a “by-pass hell” ticket, we’ve received His LIFE now! Christ paid the penalty for ALL of the wages of sin and death, including sickness, disease, poverty, and bondage to destructive addictions (Isaiah 53:5-8; 1 Peter 2:24). True followers of Christ will manifest His abundant LIFE to the degree that we deny self, make Him Lord and enforce His victory by standing on His word. In the words of the apostle Paul, I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me (Galatians 2:20).

God promises safety and triumph over the enemy as we abide in Him, Psalm 91. Throughout scripture, we are promised blessings, safety, provision and hope in Jesus Christ. As you listen to Karen’s declarations and promises from His word, receive them and proclaim for you and your family. We’ve experienced tremendous personal breakthrough as a result of this daily practice. Release the POWER of His living word by declaring His promises and praising Him for His goodness. Isaiah 55:11, “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.”
In Roman’s 4:20-22, We read of Abraham’s faith and that it was unwavering – even to the degree that he lifted his hand to slay his son, Isaac because he trusted that God would fulfill His promise. Abraham’s example reveals that we are to have faith that stands firmly and resolutely on God’s word and His promises, regardless of our circumstances and trials in this life. We have a good Father who reveals His loving nature and character to us through the embodiment of Jesus Christ. Our God is the God of love, healing, peace, righteousness, mercy, VICTORY and deliverance from ALL Satan’s evil schemes. Stand firm sister.
Jesus said, if anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water, John 7:37-38. Jesus is the source of life and as believers we have continual access to His Spirit within us. He is our deep well of life, love, hope, joy, peace, and righteousness. Are you thirsty for something more? Come to the well. The Lord will guide you continually, and satisfy your soul in drought, and strengthen your bones; you shall be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters do not fail, Isaiah 58:11.
True faith is infinitely deeper than an intellectual understanding or belief that God exists. True faith stands firm on the word of God without wavering or doubting that His promises are true, even in the midst of contradictory circumstances, disaster, and evil. This is the essence of pure, Jesus-embodied Christianity. We walk by faith and not by sight and are not moved to fear - even when the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, Ps.46:1-2. In this world, we will face trouble, persecution and tribulation, but in Him, we are more than conquerors for He has overcome the world. As children of the most High God, we are called to be light bearers to a dark world. In Romans 12:21, our command is clear; Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.
