Last weekend, we started the series "Christmas In The Real World" and we learned how we can respond when our plans get shattered (Pray, Perspective, Providence). This weekend we’ll keep it simple: We’ll find out how to make this year’s Christmas better than usual. Considering the dumpster fires that we have experienced the past two years, we’re due for a better-than-usual Christmas. This weekend I’ll share two things we can do to help make that happen in the message, “When Christmas Isn’t What It’s All Cracked Up To Be”.
This weekend at CFBC we’ll begin the 3-part Classic mini-series “Christmas In The Real World”. It teaches how we can remember the birth of our Redeemer in the middle of holiday busyness and unexpected interruptions. The message in the series is, “Surviving the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” and the text will be Matthew 1.18-25.
We’ll end our first season of God Wins: Revelation Series,* with one of the most hotly debated questions in eschatology, “Who are 144,000 in Revelation 7?” There is much speculation about the identity of that group. For example, Jehovah's Witnesses errantly believe that only 144,000 faithful Christians from 33 AD (Pentecost) until the present day will be resurrected to heaven. We’ll dive into Revelation 7 to see how in the middle of the most horrific seven years in human history, God still desires to redeem humankind from sin. The first episode of God Wins: Revelation Series Season 2 will begin on the weekend of January 8 & 9.
We’re getting to the part of Revelation that describes God’s judgment being poured out on the world. As the scroll of Revelation 5 is opened in chapter 6, a time of unprecedented global catastrophes will pour out of the scroll as each seal is broken. These disasters are the manifestations of God’s judgment on the earth that has reached a fevered pitch of rebellion against Him. As the judgments are released, each one being more severe than the last, the entire population of the planet is in for seven years of hell on earth.
Some of the most descriptive of all of Jesus’ titles are found in Revelation 5; The Lion from the tribe of Judah, The Root of David, and The Lamb. Also, one of the most speculated items in the Apocalypse is introduced: The Scroll with Seven Seals. This weekend's Revelation message, The Lion & The Lamb, reveals how the Lamb who is worthy to open the scroll for John is able to open the unopenable for us down here.
We do hope you’re receiving a blessing in the Revelation series, God Wins. Each service is planned around that week’s teaching and we pray that you are picking up on the powerful anointing that is found in studying, The Book of Revelation. By the texts and posts that we’ve received from many of you, we are encouraged by the faith-building, that is happening at CFBC.
For 2,000 years believers have wondered WHEN the transfer of believers from earth to heaven will take place. This transfer event is called The Rapture. As we look at Revelation 4 this weekend, we’ll discover what believers will see in heaven the moments immediately AFTER the Rapture of the Church takes place.
Some of the most descriptive words in all the Bible are “neither cold nor hot”. The One who stands amongst the lampstands said these words to the worst congregation of the Seven Churches of Revelation: The Church at Laodicea. You will be AMAZED at the first-century reality that the Laodicean congregation would have associated with being “lukewarm”. Once you hear this fresh revelation you’ll never see this passage the same way again.
The “God Wins” series submits its third installment this weekend with the message “Now & Later Pt.1".
This weekend we’re going to open the curtain of Revelation a little more and hear The Voice.

Learn these truths and unleash the antidote to anxiety and confusion: Biblical Truth from the perfect Word of God.
Blessing2: To Get It–Give It series with the message, “Standard of Giving Raise”. It’s the linchpin lesson that ties everything together in the Blessing2 series.
We’re looking at another great weekend at Chester’s First Baptist. The second message in the Blessing2 series will be rolled out. The sermon is entitled, “Building an Attitude That Blessings Stick To”. One of the most insightful parts of this teaching has to do with this question, “Which medalist is the happiest; The silver medal winner or the bronze medal winner?” You will be shocked at the answer and even more surprised when you discover why they are happier.
