I started off the year with so much enthusiasm and I was ready to put in the work to achieve everything I wanted. My priorities were my cooking business, my blog here on Hive and my studies. In 2023, I had one major goal and that was to overcome my anxiety and change the narrative of my life. Though a struggle, I achieved that and I was super encouraged and pumped about 2024. My vision for the year was Radiating Excellence. I wanted to perfect the skills I learnt and show up everywhere exuding excellence. But somehow, it looked like myself and my goals were unlike poles that could never meet. In no time, I was merely existing through a year I wanted to live.
Starting with academics, I thought my last lap in school was going to be one of academic comeback but no one told me the truth. You know how you decide that the energy you’ve been putting into your academics, you’ll maintain it or even do better because it’s the last lap, you can literally see the finish line but news flash? I really pictured myself making it through the last phase with so much ease but It was the most hectic and chaotic level of my academic experience.
Let’s begin with the bills. I feel I spent in the final year, the total amount of money I spent from first to third year combined. It was that crazy. With every turn I took, I was paying for something. Lecturers had us paying for books we did not need compulsorily. We paid for forms, paid to change receipts, we almost paid to breathe.
Another major challenge was the rush. The school calendar was rushed since the strike ended and we were found resuming school mostly after every two weeks and writing examinations every two months. Lectures were rushed, assignments were numerous and pressing, the timetable was suffocating as the courses were scheduled closely.
Final year was also filled with lots of activities. We had the faculty cultural day, departmental cultural day and the most important - the Final Year Biz Week where final year students had 5 days of activity marked by unique dress codes and they included Corporate Day, Denim Day, Ankara Day, Jersey Day and Costume Day. All of these activities required money to purchase the necessary costumes. I participated in some activities while I missed some. In all, it was a successful final year.
I also faced some emotional challenges last year. Found myself in a terrible situationship as the Gen Zs call it. I was constantly nagging, literally begging for the barest minimum from someone who professed love to me. Communication was a problem and so was transparency. Every time I complained about something, he’d change and do better for a short while and then go back to default settings.
For someone who is so self aware, learned and outspoken, one would think that I’d walk away from a person or situation that wasn’t serving me but I didn’t. I held on and hoped for a positive change based off of the good things other people had to say about him but it cost me my peace of mind. I was always typing epistles, addressing issues and never having absolute peace.
In all of these, I learnt the need to know people for myself rather than just blindly trusting other people’s judgement of them. This experience had me evaluating myself and trying to see where and what I missed. Was I desperate? Scared to be alone? Did I give room for certain negativity? Lose focus on my priorities?
It definitely took a while but I woke up one day and said I’ve had enough. I began to say no to people, places and things I didn’t want to be associated with. I stopped trying to salvage relationships. For once, I stepped back to see who was going to ask what’s going on, call or try to figure out how to make things work. Guess who did? Nobody. And so I picked myself up and learnt to fly solo.
These events may seem like a walk in the park but they took a toll on my social life as well as my availability status on Hive. On some days it was a matter of lack of time, other times it was as a result of lack of motivation, feeling overwhelmed, needing a break from school stress and life, and not even finding the words to express the circumstances around me.
Despite these, I had beautiful moments too. I got a remote job to work as a customer care representative and I earned in dollars for the first time. I was on cloud 10! It was very stressful joggling school with my business and now a remote job but it was a very nice experience. I quit at some point due to poor network challenges and examinations but altogether, a great experience.
In the last three months of the year, I picked up my cooking business again and was determined to finish strong. I showed up everytime I had the chance to and I couldn’t be more proud of myself. I experienced immense growth in knowledge and patronage.
Though the ride in 2024 was rocky, a lowkey people-pleaser and overthinker ended the year being okay with saying no, not caring about people’s opinion, and choosing & prioritizing people who did the same for her. This is growth and this is just enough.
This is 2025. I refused to pick a mantra for the year or limit myself to resolutions. This doesn’t mean that I’m visionless or have no goals for the year. I’m simply flying as the wind blows, giving myself the opportunity to explore as much as possible and enjoy every bit of the flight.

Welcome to yet another week of enjoying amazing entries of rich African tunes from people all around the world. I almost missed the opportunity to participate in this week’s entry but thank goodness!, the day is not your over. Today, I'll be presenting the amazing jahm Away by Davido.

While looking at the list of songs I had to pick and present, I tried a lot of songs but I wasn’t particularly feeling them. I decided to pick something in tune with my current mood and vibe and this song was the perfect fit.
The beat was perfect and so was the lyric. The song tells of the singer admitting that people are looking forward to his downfall but he’s standing strong. He says he doesn’t have time for side talks, he’s in Ibiza having the time of his life.
I specifically love this track or the entire album because we all know how it was birthed. This was the first album Davido released after he lost his son Ifeanyi. He was off social media for a long time because he was grieving and he most likely had no answers to how exactly his boy died.
People whispered, dragged, and did everything to get his feathers ruffled and get him to talk on social media but he didn’t fall for it and when he was ready to return, he came back with mind blowing hits.
I also love the incorporation of the Yoruba dialect and Nigerian Pidgin in the music lyrics. I honestly just smile when I see features that helps people discern where I’m from. It shows Africans are proud of themselves and their language and don’t mind applying it in their craft, thereby raising the African flag high.

Hello AfriTunes family! 😍I'm pleased to be a part of AfriTunes week 77. I've been Mia for a while because I travelled to my hometown for a short break. Everything was all good until Saturday.
Woke up on Saturday not really feeling strong but I didn't feel like I'm sick. I went about my chores with ease but I had this discomfort in my right ear. I think I have felt the discomfort since Friday but I just wasn't feeling pain. It felt slightly blocked, like water had entered my ear. If I lay down and my right ear is on the pillow, I feel like something is descending slowly, and if I turn such that my right ear is now upward, I feel something going up into my ear.
I picked up some cotton buds and started cleaning the affected part of my ear to see if I could get anything but my ear seemed clean. I had to ask my dad to look into my ear, this he did with the aid of a lamp, yet he couldn't find a thing. I felt very uncomfortable, I couldn't sleep, I couldn't turn my head unnecessarily if I'm laying down because I feel pain each time I try to.
I went to a pharmacy on Saturday evening to at least make consultations. Unfortunately, none of the pharmacists could relate to my pain. I was given medicine for pain relief and an ear drop. I didn't feel better. On Monday the pain became unbearable. I strongly believed I was getting deaf. I was so scared.
I started applying hot balm inside my ear, that's all I could think of. On Tuesday morning, I decided to clean the ear again. This time, I saw some blood and sticky fluid. Instinctively, I knew a boil was growing right inside my ear. It's a very terrible feeling but I'm grateful that I'm getting better.
Also, we're resuming tomorrow and all I feel is gratitude. God has brought me so far and I can tell he'll stick with me till the very end.

Hi fam! 😍 Welcome to AfriTunes week 71. I'm glad because I'm able to partake in this week's entry. I've been so busy! I feel like I don't even have a life anymore. Second semester examination has commenced in my school. You're confused right? I was too.
I concluded my first semester examination on the 10th of May. Around 14th may, the second semester began, so we spent roughly 2 months and a few weeks in the second semester.
The timetable is crazy. Below is my calendar. The dates dotted are days scheduled for my examinations. You can see that there's a point where I have an examination everyday for a week. It's crazy! I felt like crying but there's no time for that.
I'm using this opportunity to apologize ahead of time just in case I vanish again.
On my quest to share amazing African Tunes with y'all, today I'm presenting a very soothing Yoruba gospel song. Just as I've been doing recently, I've tried to incorporate Yoruba language in my presentation again.
This song speaks of the qualities of God and how words are not enough to describe Him. God is forever to be trusted. Sometimes When I speak of his awesomeness, people get lost. A few times that I've been opportuned to share the word with people who are unbelieving, I've always prayed that they experience the kind of miracles that I have so they can understand where I'm coming from.

This song had me reflecting on the numerous miracles I've encountered. It took me back to the years I sought for admission. Writing JAMB 5 good times broke me. I felt useless. After trying twice, I decided to find a job. A year letter I was employed at the school I applied to. I wrote JAMB again, seeking admission to study Law. I didn't get it. My scores dropped each time.
I started working as a class assistant which I applied for. I was so small. The job turned out to be my biggest nightmare. I was given additional tasks such as cleaning, Washing toilets. It was hectic. I ran errands in and out of school. I considered resigning a lot of times but because I didn't want to be idle.
A year later at that school, I learnt a great deal, I started covering for teachers on their sick days irrespective of the class. I held home lessons for kids who had some challenges and just like that, a passion for education grew and I applied to study English Education. The admission came so late, a month after school had resumed. My name reflected on the VC's list. VC, I don't know. Who worked out my admission? I can't tell.
There and then it dawned on me that oftentimes waiting on God is a good thing. It might not make sense to you why what you desperately need is so far away but it will make sense much later.
I have shared this story a few times from different perspectives, today I'm encouraging you to hold on because God is mighty and there's nothing he can't change. I hope you enjoy my presentation.

Hi fam! 😍 Welcome to AfriTunes week 69. I'm beyond pleased to be able to partake in this week's entry. I lost my voice due to stress. From choir rehearsal to singing during an all night event, to singing on Sunday. My voice was stressed so I couldn't speak or try to make a presentation earlier. My voice is back now, though not fully but at least I could record this video.
AfriTunes community as we all know is a community where we share and promote amazing African songs weekly. This community has challenged me in many ways like having to research and listen to varieties of African music, learning them, understanding their meanings and learning other languages as well. Recently I've been trying to incorporate a lot of local dialects in my presentation. That's because in my opinion, a song isn't just African because an African sang it.
It's the musical instrument used, it's the language, it's the message, it's whatever portrays Africa.
This week I decided to pick a Yoruba song which has a few English words as well. Victoria Orenze who is the artist that owns the song is a powerhouse of amazing, powerful, soothing christian music. I loved this song instantly.
The song says that whoever thinks evil of me, my father will fight my battle. Whoever comes to destroy me will meet my father at home 🔥. This song screams trust, confidence, and the next level kind of faith! The lyrics are so powerful.
From the moment I heard the song, I just said to myself "Fear, it's over". Meaning that there's no more room for fear, anxiety, sleeplessness cos I get backing! So if you're looking for a gospel song to keep your faith and confidence in place, this is a valid recommendation.

Hello friends, happy new week to us all. Today, having considered the theme of the week which says 'Music for Children', I'm presenting an Acapella of the song Kuchi Kuchi by Jodie.
Kuchi is a very interesting song even though I don't really know what Kuchi means. The song talks about the connection between a mother and her baby. Throughout the song, the singer adores her baby, she speaks of their striking resemblance and the different emotions she experiences because of her child.
Motherhood is such a beautiful experience. I think it's lovely to just have 'a bundle of joy and trouble' looking back at you, imitating you, tugging at your clothes, clinging to you and growing into a younger version of you.

Hello everyone, welcome to AfriTunes week 68. Today I'm excited to share with you all a song by Victoria Orenze titled Shalom. The song speaks of God as a source of peace.
Life is crazy at the moment. People are dying here and there, strange things are happening. Students are missing, some dying as well. Today, a friend told me about a final year course mate of his that just died. The lady is said to have gone for a tour with fellow students and they were in a boat and it turned over. The students were rescued but they realized that some people were missing and by the time they got back to save them, they had died.
It shook me. The story of the submarine too. School stress, denands, personal needs. A lot can make us lose our peace but somehow I'm still alive, still sane, still moving on, tired but not giving up. I can only boast of these because Jehovah is shalom, my peace!
Personally I'm so hot tempered. I'm easily triggered by certain things so each time that rage comes up upon me I just remember the word "shalom". I sing this song repeatedly whenever I'm down and it really works.

Hello everyone, I'm pleased to be able to partake in this week's Creative Sunday initiative. I have chosen to sing a song from the movie Titanic, which is currently trending due to the missing and subsequent implosion of the submarine that was built to tour the sunken Titanic Ship.
The news said that the people who went on the tour paid over $250,000 to tour the sunken ship on the sub and that these people are notable billionaires too.
I felt so emotional. I watched a clip where the teenage boy's aunt revealed that the boy didn't want to go on the trip but obliged just to please his Dad for Father's day.
The lady I spoke about in the video is Renata. She said she saved for 30 years to see Titanic. At the time, no one knew where it was so she decided to find it. During her first week in school, people found it and so she switched her course to banking.

Contrary to what I said in my video, she wasn't among the people who went on the submarine. The video clip didn't say if she later went or not. But just like her, I don't know why others went but my heart goes to the young boy, he had a whole life ahead of him but this just happened.
The song I'm singing speaks of a lost love. Someone you value who's no longer with you. Like it's said in the song, you can only see them in your dreams and feed on the memories you created while they were alive. I guess this is the only way to connect with them now.
I hope the souls of the ones lost rest in peace and their families be comforted.

Good day friends of the Afri-Tunes Community. It's yet again another lovely week to present amazing African Tunes and enjoy the performances of others too.

The song was sung in Nigerian pidgin English and Igbo language. Funny enough, I'm not an Igbo girl but I love the language so much. I'm currently learning the language.
Just in case you didn't know, I'm a hopeless romantic, or you can call me a lover girl hence my reason for loving this song so much. In the song, Chike shares insight on how long he met the girl he's singing about and how he knew from onset that he'd marry her. He also said the universe has to know her. That is what I call intentionality. Men who date with intentions, good intentions! 😁 A real man shows off his woman because he's proud of her.

I understand this theme to mean lovers of animation. During my early childhood stage, I enjoyed a variety of animation based shows. One of my favourites of such productions is Barbie. As a lover of art and music, I was drawn by the music. I loved every bit of it and I learnt to sing along each time I watched the movie again.

Good day everyone. I'm once again delighted to be a part of Hive Open Mic Week 166. The theme is equally very interesting and encouraging as well. Never Give Up to me is a phrase that stays stuck at the back of my mind always.
This theme is very personal to me. My birthday is coming up in exactly 5 weeks and I'm having that sick feeling again. The feeling of unenthusiasm, sadness and all. I just barely get excited about my birthday because there's a lot I feel I should accomplish at this age yet I haven't checked half of the list in the box.
I see people just burying their heads in work and they seem very fulfilled but I can't even tell what I want to do. Today I feel like I know where I'm going and tomorrow I'm as confused as hell. I could go weeks without writing or engaging in anything that should take me a step closer to my dreams.
Perhaps you feel the same way too. Your journey is probably very exhausting and you're doubting the light at the tunnel. This theme says "it's okay." I've grown to realize that no experience in this journey of life is a waste. It might not always look like a blessing or what you prayed for but its playing a big role in getting you to that dream place so never give up!
I chose Sia's Angel By The Wings because the song seems to be ministered to a weary soul, a hurting soul. She says: * Hold on, head up, be strong. The lines that say take an angel by the wings, beg her now for anything feels to me as though she's emploring that you pray to God over what really overwhelms you and the chorus gives the song an excellent finish which relates to the theme, it says You can do anything*. I hope we all always let this stick to our minds. Never give up!

Warm welcome to week 66 of Afri-Tunes Community musical presentation. I've been in a very optimistic mood lately so I thought, "why not sing something a bit lively?". That's why I chose a song by Frank Edwards titled I No Fit To Shout.
The song is sung majorly in Nigerian pidgin English hence a good choice of African Song. This language gives the song some wit and makes it more interesting.
I chose this song because I know where I'm coming from. There were times I had to sell to eat, I had to farm under the rain, I had to beg and borrow but thankfully it's not so anymore. Now I feed myself and feed my friends as well. It's not because I have so much but because God's grace is sufficient. When I think of it all I really cannot scream (I no fit shout!)

Good day lovely friends. Welcome to Hive Open Mic Week 165. As always, we have a very wonderful theme this week. Nature is something that everyone can relate to and I'll really be in doubt if anyone doesn't like a thing or two about nature. The trees, the birds, the refreshing air, the sun, the stars, the moon, the waters, everything is just amazing.
To key into this theme, I chose a song by Evie Karlsson titled Tree Song. The song speaks of the beauty of trees. How it provides shade for man from the hot summer sun and serves as a source of habitat for the birds. I love trees, I love plants. I think of their colour as unique. The way they beautify spaces and just give a serene look to the environment is beautiful.
Spending time in nature is one of my most effective tools for relaxing, meditating, reflecting, and pretty much just having that alone time. It makes me feel refreshed and ready to face life head on. I hope you key into this theme and just enjoy the performances of other people.

Hello everyone, welcome to week 65 of the AfriTunes community music presentation. This week, I decided to sing another gospel song by Yadah titled Beyond Me. Yadah is a Nigerian female gospel artiste who hails from the southern part of Nigeria.
I chose this song because God has been beyond faithful. Looking at how flawed I am, I never seem worthy of all the love God has bestowed. Falling sick made me realize that I should never be given reasons to praise. The things I thought were insignificant such as the ability to sleep, swallow food, taste things etc, I realized were very massive and worth praising God for. Last week felt like hell. Everything was a struggle. Sleeping, tasting food, chewing food, swallowing. My mouth was sour and my teeth were hurting so I couldn't chew. For these basic things I'm grateful.
Yadah - Beyond MePeople are dying daily for reasons I don't understand. We've lost three students in my school this past week. While I don't intend to capitalize on anyone's misfortune, it just makes me realize that life is just God's grace. It has nothing to do with my efforts, it's purely grace. For this I'm grateful.

Today on creative Sunday, I'm bringing you all the unique AkwaIbom State Banga Soup which is called Atama in our local Ibibio dialect. Banga soup is prepared with an extract obtained from pounded palm fruits.
It is noteworthy that what differentiates the Efik/Ibibio people's Banga soup from that of other tribes is the Atama leaf. Let's dive into my ingredients and recipe. Stay with me!☺️
INGREDIENTS * Palmfruits * Atama leaf (use fresh or dry, I used dried for mine) * Goat meat * Cowskin * Periwinkle * Stockfish * Fresh pepper * Salt * Seasoning cubes
THE PROCESS I started my cooking by soaking my properly washed periwinkle in salt water. I sprinkled enough salt in water and poured in my periwinkle. I left it covered until I needed it. This technique helps the salt get absorbed into the shell of the periwinkle and this will make it very tasty after preparation. (I just shared a secret free of charge, say thank you ma) 😁
I also washed my chopables😁 that's my meat and fish and I proceeded to cook them to get my stock water. I added just salt, pepper and seasoning cubes while cooking them.
Next step is to boil the palmfruits. I boiled till the flesh began to tear up. The colour too changed from bright red to a sort of brownish red. That's how you know it's soft and ready.
I filtered the water and pounded the palm fruits into a mash. The flesh was completely separated from the nut at this point.
Using cold water, I squashed and squeezed the juice and oil from the mash and took out the shaft gradually. After this, I filtered it using a thin net filter to get a very clean extract.
The oil and water extract gotten from the palm fruit is what I use to cook my soup. That is the main base. So you pour the extract into your clean pot and proceed to heat it up. I allowed it to simmer a little and I added my stock water, my meat, cowskin and stockfish, as well as my periwinkle. Here I added more salt and seasoning cubes to taste and left it for about 6 minutes to cook.
Next I added my crayfish. I love crayfish so much so I added a little more than normal and I left it to simmer a little then I stirred the contents of my pot in order to get them mixed perfectly. After this, I tasted my cooking to make sure the taste was perfect. Lastly, I added my dry Atama leaf.
The leaves are already dry so I didn't let it cook anymore. I just added it, stirred, tasted my soup for the last time and turned off my gas. Bang! The Banga soup was banging!
A little tip for people who may like to use the fresh leaves instead, the fresh leaves are mostly bitter so you have to wash to your satisfaction which could be extremely bitter, slightly bitter or not bitter at all.

Hopeful - the theme for this week is an excellent one. Hope is that feeling of expectation that something we desire so much will come through even though we may not know how that will come to be. As an applicant in need of employment, you submit your CV in a company, go for an interview. When you return what happens? You begin to hope that the employment will be yours, isn't it?
At one point in time we've all been hopeful. From the silliest of things to the greatest of our needs. We're hopeful that our dreams will come through, we'll build that dream house, we'll live to see the next five years, we'll graduate, we'll marry, the list just goes on and on.
To key into this theme, I chose a song by Maverick City ft Naomi Raine and the song says God will work it out. Here, I'm looking at another angle of hope. Hope in situations that are beyond our control. What happens when there's a great need in the family and you can't provide? Your daughter wants to go to school in the best University but you cannot afford the fees? You're nursing an illness and the doctor says there's no cure for it? I bring you goodnews of hope today that God will work it out, be encouraged!

Hello AfriTunes Family! 🥳🥳🥳 How are we all doing?
It's a pleasure to be part of another wonderful week of AfriTunes music performances. I'm grateful for a lot that's why I decided to hop in no matter how tight my schedule might be.
Last week, I got ill. What began as a joke became extremely serious and I was so confused about how quickly everything switched up. Just like that, I wasn't able to sleep anymore, I couldn't eat and I had this really intense headache. It equally affected my voice which y'all might notice in my presentation. I apologize for not being so audible in my introduction, I was saving the strength for the main song😁
In all, I'm grateful because I am breathing, and wherever there's life, there's hope. I know I'll get better. I've been receiving treatment. For this reason, I chose the song I'm presenting today and the part I'm holding on to so strongly is the part that says "no need to cry cos You're always with me". No child panics or frets when the father is with him, in the same light, I'm not afraid for God is with me.

How are we all doing? Welcome to another amazing week of Afritunes musical performances. I went mia for two weeks, I know and I'm so sorry. I'm still writing my examination but the goodnews is that I have just one examination left so I'll be more available soon.
For this week, I decided to go back to my gospels because last time I sang a love song, I was told that I'm acting like someone that's being chiked😂 I hope I'm behaving well today. The culprits involved should leave me a review in the comment section.
On my reasons for choosing this song, first it's a lovely one and it's very meaningful. "Imela" is a Yoruba word that means "thank you". The song is that of gratitude. I'm grateful to God for a lot of things but most importantly for courage to get through life each day. For a long time, I'm talking about months, I haven't felt good. A lot of things I was handling went wrong so it weighed me down because I invested so much money and time in those things. I ended up so confused on how to move on and what to move on to. I wept for days, was lonely for other days too and very unmotivated. Looking at my blog, one could tell that I haven't written an article for ages because I can't put the pieces of anything together.
Despite all these, I'm grateful for life, for courage to wakeup daily and breathe, for ability to feel pain because trust me everything happens for a good reason and better days are coming.
I also asked God for provision. I needed money to surprise my brother on his birthday which was last week. It struck me that all my life I've never appreciated him. It's sad that I'm always giving people I'm not related to gifts, sometimes people who haven't impacted in me as much, people who turned out to not be genuine but I forgot my brother. I'm grateful because I was able to get him a quality gift.
I also chose this song because of the combination of Igbo and Yoruba dialect in the lyrics. Since AfriTunes is about celebrating African music, I decided to celebrate the culture too.

How are we all doing? Welcome to another amazing week. I sincerely apologize for missing week 58. It was because of my exams. I had to just try and record this particular one because i didn't want to miss out again.
Everyone knows that I'm usually singing gospels so i decided to try a love song that's meaningful since I'm not a big fan of secular music.

Hello beautiful ladies and handsome gentlemen. It's a pleasure to be participating once again in AfriTunes weekly entry.
Last week I performed a song titled Capable God and people laughed at me because i said i sang ut because of my examinations which I was yet to see the timetable. I have a testimony! The timetable is out!
We all know it's one thing for timetable to be released and another thing for it to favour you. They've been changes on the timetable about three times since it was released. It turns out that a particular course that I'm rewriting was now clashing with a particular examination of mine. I was so disturbed. Two exams were already fixed for that day and now with this other exam that I'm rewriting, it would be three with two of the examination time clashing. I wondered which one I'll write and which one I'll miss. I felt so down.
Our class rep kept attending meetings with the lectures involved and pleading. Other departments offering the course too didn't want it to be moved so it was a big challenge. Thankfully, even though they've been no final information, they'll be changes. Tomorrow I'll be writing only one course instead of three. No more clashing and even though there's no time to cover all the topics because I wrote an exam yesterday, i am still thankful. So this is may praising God in different songs for coming through.

Hello beautiful people. Happy new month to y'all. I welcome us all to yet another amazing week in the AfriTunes community. This week I'm singing a song by Judikay titled Capable God.
I chose the song because examination has started😭😂😂 As always, we've gotten past questions for the courses that are handwritten. There are rumours about a course that 80% of the class fails but I'm determined to pass it excellently. The funniest part is that timetable hasn't been released for my department. We've only seen the timetable for CBT examinations and it's only two of my courses that are computer based so I have every reason to panic. Other departments are writing exams and we're just watching.
So I'm singing this song because I trust God that this exams will go well. I refuse to panic. All I'm doing is preparing for success. So whatever is scaring you right now or you feel is beyond you, trust God to do it because he's capable.

Hello everyone in the music zone community, I'm excited to be here for the first time. I've decided to sing a lovely song for my first entry.
Yesterday Everyday Always is a song by popular singer Tatiana Manaois. The song has a central theme of self-love. National Moi-Moi is a really witty and hilarious song by a popular Nigerian Actress popularly known as Mama G. In the song, Mama G presents herself as one who has just been elected as the governor of her state. She thanks the citizens for voting for her and goes on to state some really funny, weird and equally meaningful things she'll do for the people of her state as she's now the governor.

Hello everyone, I hope you all are having a good day just like me. I'm pleased to be here for the first time. I am presenting a very old song by Tatiana Manaois who happens to be one of my favourite artists. The song is tiltled Loke You. It is a song that portrays self-love and encouragement. I feel like it's the best song for this season, judging from the way things has been going in my part of the world - Nigeria.
In hard times like this people are expected to stay strong and in a bid to do so, people think it means bottling up emotions, not asking for help, not being vulnerable at any point and that's wrong. Some people may even be feeling as though they are not enough and they are not doing enough either . Someone might have a great business idea but refuse to act on it just because they don't think it's worth trying or they have a low self-esteem so they shy away from taking the risk of trying. This song is an encouragement to take that bold step. Give yourself some credit because you deserve it, ask for help if need arises and never live according to people's definition of who you are or their idea of who you should be. I'm excited to be back in the AfriTunes community! On this week's entry, I decided to sing a song by Dunsin Onyekan, which Pastor Jerry Eze was featured as well.
I chose this song because today is mother's day and this song reminds me a lot of my mum. There was a time my mum was so sick and I was usually afraid that she won't make it out alive but my mum is a woman of faith. She really believed that she would be healed and she never entertained any negative thought.

Music has a way of covering every aspect of life. There's a song for every process and every kind of feeling. Perhaps this is why music is so relevant.
We all have experienced different stages and processes in life. It was in one of these processes that this song inspired me. It was a stage of pain, confusion and sorrow.
