In this episode, Ph.D Student Hayden Lukas discusses his article in the 2022 edition of Grapho on the nature of light. Through a comparison of the platonic and physicalist perspectives on light, Lukas encourages the recovery of the light as the revealer of truth and intelligibility, especially as it pertains to Christ. Suffering is an unavoidable part of the human experience, and it does not take long in a ministry context before we see its signs. Trauma, as a specific form of suffering, is something many people have experienced. The laments of Scripture, particularly the Psalms, give us language to approach the trauma of human life, with its questions of theodicy and emotional, physical, and mental suffering. Join us, seminarians Aidan Moon and Adam Flanick, as we scratch the surface of how lament can be integrated through ritual and liturgy to help those suffering develop the skills necessary to live in right relationship with God and their fellow creatures.

Former and current graduate students Kendall Davis and Ben Vanderhyde discuss how to get started doing research on a biblical passage whether for preaching, for bible study, or for class. Sometimes it can be hard to know how to start and how to direct your research. The key is learning how to ask questions of the text that guide your research. Kendall and Ben discuss the parable of the wicked tenants (Matthew 21:33–46) as a test case in learning how to ask questions of a text.

What are the benefits of podcasting for pastors, students, and professors? In this episode, Seminarian Aidan Moon and graduate student Ben Leeper discuss the purpose and function of podcasts as a medium.
