Bong Mines Entertainment presents “Da Hot Spot,” a new music podcast created by Zangba Thomson to highlight tomorrow’s most promising stars and today’s mega superstars.
Rinchere (formally known as Spectacula) is an up-and-coming rapper based in Queens, New York. Not too long ago, he released a dope hip-hop tune, entitled, “The World Watching,” featuring revolutionary Queens rapper, Var Brown. The accompanying music video, directed by Brown, shines a much-needed light on how much things have changed.
Rinchere explained 🗣: “In a way, this project was inspired by the documentary, The Social Dilemma. The internet is a powerful tool that has innovated the world in many positive ways, but at the same time, it has done irreversible damage to humanity. This project is a retrospect on that.”
‘The World Watching’ finds Rinchere and Var Brown rapping about pivotal issues plaguing inner-city communities. The likable tune contains a relatable narrative, thought-provoking lyrics, and an infectious, ‘90s-inspired hip-hop instrumentation. Also, “The World Watching” serves as a tasty appetizer to what listeners can expect to hear on Richere’s upcoming album, entitled, Retrospect. The project is set to be released on April 22, 2022. Furthermore, the song is a 2022 revision of Jay-Z’s “Streets is Watching” single.
“If I did not have music as an outlet, I probably would have been very emotionally distressed. I don’t think I reinvented the wheel or anything. I just feel like if more rappers spent time perfecting their craft, hip-hop would be much better.” – Rinchere stated Rinchere is one of the most notable additions to New York’s up-and-coming roster. Born to Haitian parents, he grew up in Queens, where music quickly became the sensation of his childhood. Soon, he was introduced to R&B and Kompa. Later, he fell in love with the beat and the rhythm along with the music’s ability to grab the attention of anyone who chooses to listen for 3-5 minutes. Be it meaningful, emotional, or just plain stupid. Currently, Rinchere is focused on his musical development, the creative process, and releasing new hip-hop music.

Chloé Morgan is a Vancouver, Canada-based singer-songwriter and an award-winning DJ from London, England. Not too long ago, she released a lyric video for her inspiring pop tune, entitled, “Taking Me There.”
The song represents the beautiful transition from darkness to light with love to lead the way. Chloé Morgan is an entertainer to the core: singing, acting, dancing, and playing musical instruments from five years of age. As a youth, she was awarded a scholarship to the acclaimed London Studios Centre performing arts college, which cultivated and sculpted her passion – giving her talent a strong foundation. Through her ambition and drive and insatiable desire to share her gift with the world came many opportunities. One of which was the hit British reality show, Popstars: The Rivals.
From her experience and exposure on the show, the contacts she made led to her signing a major record deal as part of the girl group, Clea, with industry powerhouse, Warner Brothers, in 2002. The group toured the UK as a supporting act to Daniel Beddingfield and the boy band, Blue, and performed on many radio and television programs. During that time, Chloé shared the stage with artists such as Beyoncé, Britney Spears, Girls Aloud, and Kelly Clarkson to name a few.
Chloé acquired the skills she needed to take her to the next level and decided to pursue a solo career. After expanding her skills in the UK as a DJ, she worked the club circuits in Essex and London, as part of the DJ team’s world-famous, Hillsong London. Then, she moved to Vancouver, Canada, where her career advanced and she became a high-profile DJ and singer in the city. In 2017, she won a Golden Owl Award for Breakout DJ of The Year.

Nové is an up-and-coming singer-songwriter based in Nashville, TN. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Claustrophobic,” which tells an intriguing tale about a vulnerable young woman who experiences internal battles with her insecurities. Apparently, she created a huge prison inside of her mind, where she feels trapped and defeated. As the oxygen is slowly fading away, she pleads for anyone to break into her mind to save her from herself.
Nové explained 🗣: “‘Claustrophobic’ is a real and raw song about my own inner struggles. It’s my sincere hope that my song resonates with listeners in a way that can be of comfort to them in knowing they are not alone. So often as humans we get ourselves stuck in our minds with thoughts of anxiety, insecurities, and self-doubt. Sometimes, it can be so overwhelming, you trap yourself in your own self-made hell. ‘Claustrophobic’ is also about getting stuck in a reality I’ve created for myself, and I need someone to help me get out of it. It touches base with the reality of the human experience, knowing that we all do it to ourselves in some shape or form – whether on occasion or on a daily basis. It’s okay to acknowledge these inner struggles and support each other through them. And I hope my song brings that to the forefront of people’s minds.”
Music has always been a part of Nové’s identity. From a young age, her mind was filled with melodies, lyrics, and dreams of the future she imagined for herself. For most people, these thoughts would merely pass along only to be forgotten in a few moments. However, she did not let her ideas slip away. Her pen was quick to hit the paper. PLANT is a London-based singer-songwriter and producer from Portland, Oregon. Not too long ago, she released a lovely debut single, entitled, “Aftershock,” produced and co-written by Stefan Abingdon (Selena Gomez, Jess Glynne).
PLANT explained 🗣: “I wrote ‘Aftershock’ after a minor fight I had with my partner that I just couldn’t get over. It made me think, when we have these fights, where do our words go after they are voiced? Who’s responsible for their reverberations – the speaker or the listener? I don’t know if I found an answer. But writing about it gave my hurt feelings the voice they needed to be heard.”
‘Aftershock’ contains a problematic relationship-based narrative and ear-pleasing vocals that will resonate well with fans of Sylvan Esso and Lorde. ‘I’m Letting You Go’ tells a heartbreaking tale about a young woman who finds herself breaking up with her significant other. Apparently, letting her partner go is tearing her heart apart because she still cares about her partner – even though they’re not an item anymore. Unsure about their future apart from each other, she optimistically tells her former partner, “I know you’ll find somebody who will be able to heal your soul. So don’t be sorry, there’s a place in my heart that’s only yours.”

Aminata explained 🗣: “The song is about two people who have fallen out of love with each other. Breaking up is always painful, especially if you have spent years together. Breaking up is frightening because of the uncertain future. The thought of seeing your loved one with another person is painful. Letting go is hard when you both have become dependent on each other. It is easy to confuse dependency with a relationship. Everyone deserves to be happy and there comes a time when you need to let the other person go and be happy on their own. Love does not end at that point, it transforms. Letting go is hard for everyone, whether you have to let go of a person, belief, or insecurity. This song is about ourselves.”
Aminata represented Latvia in the Eurovision Song Contest 2015 with the song, “Love Injected,” which finished 6th overall. The following year, she wrote “Heartbeat,” which was performed by Justs at the ESC in 2016 – placing 15th in Grand Final. So far, Aminata has released three studio albums: Inner voice, Red Moon, and Maiga Vara. In 2020, she signed with Universal Music Group.

Meyru is an up-and-coming band from Manhattan, New York City. After two years of touring and writing, they have released an enchanting indie-rock tune, entitled, “Off White.”
The accompanying music video finds Meyru aloof inside an off-white brick-and-cement studio. The theme of detachment – floating in some negative space – is threaded throughout the video and track. Meyru supported the release of their debut album, “Good to See You,” with a series of sold-out shows in New York City, San Francisco, Atlanta, DC, and Charlotte. Now, they are putting the finishing touches on their sophomore project, which finds them recording each song live – with the intention of bringing out the true energy felt in their live shows. Also, they are calling on everything they know to bring fresh life to the album. It’s a nod to their ’90s influences and stripped down when compared to their debut release.

But I actually wrote this song about a very specific situation that I had with a guy I was seeing. It just felt to me like he wanted to be somewhere else most of the time that we were together. I realized he didn’t really know how to connect with people beyond the surface. The end of the song is a culmination of that realization and also realizing that I didn’t need to constantly be feeling like I wasn’t enough. It’s critical to trust your instincts and your emotions when you’re dating and in so many other situations. And it’s something I work on every day.” – KATH explained

Not too long, Nazzereene appeared on the national TV program, The X Factor. At 18-years-old, she received a standing ovation from three superstar judges. Also, she had the entire Hisense Arena on their feet. Nazzereene then took to The Voice stage, where she turned a chair in the Blind Auditions with her soulful and heartfelt rendition of “Gravity” by Sara Bareilles. In a world that divides us, Airyen is standing up for equality, human rights, and unity. All the earnings made from her “Breathe (Dj Yaang Remix)” single will be donated to Ukrainian refugees from Romania.
“I discovered this beautiful and amazing voice when she was invited on my radio show at Kiss FM Romania. That is when I instantly wanted to be, somehow, involved in her project. So I made this remix as a slap-house dance version, which brings a European sound to this powerful and uplifting song.” – DJ Yaang explained
The initial, unapologetically activist tune, “Breathe,” produced by Douglas Martung, created controversy for its message to ‘breathe’ at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. The song, which was inspired by images of global youth protests, now has another valuable purpose. It serves as a comforting beacon of hope for Ukrainian refugees displaced because of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
With “Breathe,” Airyen continues the trend of using her music in a powerful way. This time, she calls out to the world’s younger generations with a simple message: make your voice heard. Through her uplifting and infectious pop vocals, Airyen encourages youth protest and members of the younger generations to do whatever it takes to bring about positive change in the world. At its heart, this track is about fighting for what is right, no matter what controversy it may cause or how others around you might react to it. Throughout the song, Airyen continually uses the chorus to plead with listeners to just, “breathe.” In doing so, she is reminding listeners that they cannot allow themselves to be suffocated by a fear of upsetting others.

“I wrote the chorus of this song two years ago in the middle of a panic attack. I was by myself and I didn’t know what to do so I started singing just to calm down. The inspiration for the verses came by the beginning of this year and this is how the song was born.” – Airyen Vay explained

Amorie is a singer-songwriter originally from Saint Louis (US) but is also based between the UK (Liverpool) and Norway (Oslo). Patrick Perez is her long-distance production partner. Not too long ago, they released a lovely music video for their “Goddess” single.

A true survivor, Star2 was born in a refugee camp in Thailand. His family walked over 500 miles through the jungle to escape Burmese soldiers when they attacked and burned down their village. As Karen’s (Kuh-ren), a minority group that the Myanmar government has tried to destroy, Star2 (and his family) has faced immense adversity and racial opposition for generations.
With no father or mother by his side, his grandmother was chosen in a lottery to be able to migrate to the United States. At the age of six years old, she took Star2 to San Diego, where he began his new life. Unfortunately, it wasn’t an easy one, as a young kid living in the inner city, his family struggled financially and he lived with an uncle who was addicted to drugs. Adapting to living in a new world filled with cars, electricity, and paved roads, he was overwhelmed and overstimulated.
Star2 eventually found solace and turned to music as a teenager. During this time, he learned how to rap, sing, write, and perform. With a diverse set of influences including Justin Bieber, Tyga, and Chris Brown, Star2 developed his own musical style complete with winning hooks, rich harmonies, and distinctly progressive R&B soundscapes.

Beyond his environmental conflicts, Nell questions how “free” are we really in America?
‘S.G (4K)’ spawned from a piece of digital art and a five-hour studio session. Since then, the song has blossomed into so much more. Therefore, she wholeheartedly asks him, “Why can’t you ever feel the same? Am I not good enough to stay? Is there something that’s wrong with me? Is there something that I should change?”

I know it took me some time, but now, we should pretend that it’s over and move our own separate ways.”

Joëlle Buyckx comes from a Mexican mother and French father. Music has always been a part of her life, but in the last few years, she’s realized nothing makes her feel the way music does. Her multifaceted upbringing has given her the ability to keep an open mind to different perspectives and she sees differences as strengths – her music derives from that dynamic.
Also, she doesn’t follow rules, only what feels and sounds good in its own unique way. What really matters to her is evoking a mood and making people feel a certain way through sounds and visuals. Lastly, she hears in colors and sees in sounds, and she hopes her music can make listeners do the same.

“‘Hate You’ is an emotive bite back at the girls in my school who never believed in me. I wrote this song just after seeing a toxic ex-friend pop up on my social media for the first time in a while. When I saw this, I wondered how they would treat me now that I’m more confident and doing well. Daydreaming, I imagined a scenario where one girl, in particular, would try to befriend me again, and in return, I would just dismiss them.” – Nova May explained
Not too long ago, Nova May was signed to UMG Decca Records as a child star. She had a Top 20 hit with “The Poppy Girls,” which saw her perform for the Queen at the Royal Albert Hall in the mid-2010s.
