One where no topics are off-limits, we understand that all areas of our lives are intertwined. We will talk about money, emotions, even emotions around our money. Raising kids is sure to be a hoot as they say the darndest things. Dating, relationships, marriage, grief in many forms whether it’s a death, divorce, illness, or life just not turning out had you thought. That my friends are real, I can speak to that firsthand. We will tackle life’s epic failures, celebrate the wins, overcome the obstacles, address the mountains and valleys in each other's lives. No rock shall go unturned.
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THERE IS AN EXPLANATION FOR WHY I HAVE MANAGED MY MONEY THIS WAY…How many of you are not even sure where your habits, behaviours or patterns have stemmed from, yet you know that they have derailed you financially over the years? I was that person, unable to articulate why I couldn't change, beating myself over the head with shame, guilt, and blame for not changing my behaviours with money. Unaware that my past trauma, wounds, papercuts, whatever you wish to call them, have played out in my finances.
Financial healing is a journey to wholeness, where we align our mind, heart, and soul. It's not about the destination but the journey at hand where we can hold brave space for our past, present, and future.
One of curiosity, not judgment, this work is not about reliving or rehashing what has happened. Instead, it's about holding the paradox of something terrible in one hand and a fantastic future in the other.
I share with you my own struggles, so you know you are not alone; we all have our shit and manage money as a reflection.
Trauma is trauma, and it doesn't matter if it is a little t or big T. It plays a role in your money. I know, as I used my story as a get-out-of-jail-free card many times and played victim too, but this happened to me. It sure did, but it comes down to our choices regarding how we live because of moving forward.
In this episode we will talk about the four lenses to financial healing and wholeness and how IFS - Internal Family Systems plays a role in our money. When we can acknowledge there are no bad parts only protector parts, we can reflect on why they show up and do the inner work to find healing and wholeness. Through this your finances will thank you!
It's time you RETHINK YOUR FINANCIAL HEALTH, keep a look out for my upcoming book that will take you and your finances to the next level!
There is a link between money, self-esteem and our financial future; we have been socially conditioned to believe that our work makes us valuable, depending on our role. Creating a link between occupation and identity, and money. To no surprise, we view our self-worth based on our financial standing.
Our self-worth is abstract; it cannot be measured, but money can, debt total, bank balances, annual income, and net worth. When our self-worth is based around money, our value can change in a moment; it's shifting like shadows. Too many uncontrollable variables are a rollercoaster of emotions when we link the two. It takes a toll on our mental health, which plays a role in our physical health over a more extended period. We can tie our self-worth to many things, not just our money or job title.
The list is long: our physical appearance and academic success, who our partner is, who our parents are, where we live, and what we drive. It has also been said that people with low self-esteem and a lack of self-love are the roots of unhealthy spending habits and patterns as they seek material things. Materialism promises satisfaction but yields hollow remorse. Society exploits insecurities and generates more through this cycle.
How you feel about yourself does impact your bottom line. Make sure to distinguish the order. First, your self-worth is what you believe to be true about yourself and your future. So, if you have a poor opinion about yourself, you won't feel worthy, won't ask for that raise, and inconvertibly, you will experience lack, causing you to lack confidence in yourself.
Do you see the correlation? We take you deeper into this episode and give tips and tricks to empower you to shift your confidence and self-worth so you can live out financially free and in alignment with who you are to your core.

A fantastic title that kicks us off with Patricia Morgan "Loving Them As They Are" as we dive into trauma and addictions.
Wisdom, right out of the gates, boundaries represent where I begin and end, and you begin and end—getting clear that our thoughts are different from one another, same with feelings and core values. More to come as you listen and we get through three key elements.
We are getting equipped to handle the hard things in life with the ones we love—great resources at Patricia's website.
You have heard lots of buzz about limiting beliefs; you've even worked through some of your own with a counsellor, coach, friends, and family. There is that great quote - "if you believe you can or believe you can't, either way, you are right."
Causes of our limiting beliefs develop at a very early age. This is where they begin. Remember me talking about the four filters we see and do life through? These filters are relevant, and it's time that you understand the filters and how you are viewing life from what you were told - that is one filter, what you learned is the second, what you experienced is the third, and from that, you have a belief which is your fourth filter or lens in which you do life. Often time limiting beliefs stem from a negative experience that leaves an impression. Here is an excellent example of the limiting belief I created and manifested in my life. Black sheep, I may have been a challenging teenager, did things the hard way, and gave my parents a run for their money. While my brother was the golden child, I still to this day use these terms. It doesn't mean it is true; I formulated this belief system from seeing, hearing, learning, and then my feelings hijacked all rationale and created this story. That I wasn't good enough, that I was the black sheep, that I wouldn't make anything of myself. My list can go on and on.
When left unchecked, they can sabotage our financial future; listen to learn ways to overcome your limiting beliefs so you too can finish well financially. There's more to money than numbers. Learn more by completing the financial scorecard today to evaluate your financial health.
Fear is relevant in today's world as it surrounds us in all areas, even our finances. Fear in and by itself is not bad; we need fear and anxiety to keep us safe. However, the perception of threat, this "fear," activates the sympathetic nervous system and triggers an acute stress response that allows our bodies to fight or flee.
Remember, as these responses kick in, the brain is flooded with stress hormones such as adrenaline and cortisol. This is needed in aspects of our lives, and other times this fear response occurs when there is no danger or intense situation that triggers anxiety. Understanding these responses and how to regulate our nervous system will increase your overall mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
Fear doesn't always present itself with a lack of finances; it is not always about how much money you have. It is about how secure you feel with the money you have. I will repeat this; it is not about how much you have or make. It is about what you do with what you have and the feelings of security it brings you. This was my "aha moment" after my separation.
Fear of finances is not always about lack of funds; it can be many things...listen to learn more as we give you examples, tips and tricks to work through your fear and anxiety regarding money. Including the five "R's": recognize, reflect, rebuke, reframe, and reposition will allow you to break away from fear and finances. We break each of these apart in this podcast and the emotional tapping technique so you can live out your finances in abundance and whole.

I am shaking things up in today's podcast and bringing the male voice to the space with Coach Cary. I am beyond excited to have Cary on the Sharing the Manual Podcast as we discuss demasking. Although men do it too, ladies, he will share with us why, how it shows up for men, and how we as women can support and hold space for the men in our lives, whether our partners or sons or friends.
Cary is focused on getting people unstuck and into their greatness.
A proud father of 3, he is passionate about serving others in their journey to level up using the perfect blend of mindset, manifestation, motivation, and life experience.
Cary takes his pain and brings about purpose; what fans his fire is his passion for serving. He says it best:
"I know what it's like to hide behind a mask. Thinking I always have to show my "A game" and look like, I have it all together - while navigating the storm of emotions, insecurities, and life challenges on my own. Then it hit me you don't have to do it alone, and reaching out for help saved my life."
Now Cary, your authenticity, emotions, and no-bull-shit approach have drawn me to you and your work. I know your story, and it has touched me many times as you were able to get to the other side. So I wish to start there, Cary; can you share with our listeners your journey of masking up and the pivotal moment when everything changed?
Men face imposter syndrome in all areas of life, which causes us to hide behind a mask; we are afraid to speak and share. So often, if I had listened to the little nudges in my life, I could have prevented a full-blown fallout. Proactive vs. reactive,
Often, we are afraid to ask the question as we don't want to hear the answer, or we don't want to ask others as we don't have the answer or imposter syndrome creeps in, making us feel unqualified, fraud, or phoney.
Ownership is key to where you are at. It takes back the steering wheel to your life.
Awareness, freedom, and the ability to work through when you are ready, getting the right people to support your growth journey.
Men, like women, want to feel seen, known and understood.
A great way to create space for your partner, child, or friend is to notice something different, ask them, and let them know that you are there to support them in any way: a listening ear, solutions, thoughts, etc.
What are the four questions Byron Katie asks:
You write down your stressful thoughts and then ask yourself the following four questions:
Wow, thank you for the wisdom that you shared with us today; I know that I was able to pull from this episode and apply things within my own life of raising a teenage boy and what I will take forward in future relationships.
Cary's mission is global impact through exploiting his gifts in the service of others. You support people with their transformation by uncovering and using the lessons and skills in their struggles and frustrations to level up and live the life they desire. So how can our followers get in touch with you?

Welcome listeners to today's episode with Dana Lewis, I am blown away by our newfound friends and I can't wait for you to meet her. We connected on Instagram as we both commented on a post about grief. We then realized some similarities, we both are in year nine of being widowed, and raising three teenagers. I believe in divine interventions, and this is it. Wait there is more, she has a podcast called...are you ready for it..."STOP FAKING FINE", ohhhh ladies I did this for years.
Dana is here to encourage you not to settle! An author, podcaster, and speaker Dana is all about empowering women to live their best life by replacing their unhealthy patterns and equipping them to THRIVE. She helps high-achieving women manage stress, gain energy, and a better mood and awaken their metabolism.
Dana is going to share with us a little about her story as you know me I believe our stories have the power to heal followed by:
We don't often know we are doing it and here are some key things to look out for:
Why do we stay stuck in the fine because we are stuck in our fight or flight response? Cortisone levels are through the roof, we are on autopilot, get her done mode. Don't have the bandwidth to make decisions or to recognize that something is wrong.
The first step in the toolbox is to lower your cortisone levels and balance your brain and gut health. This brings focus, clarity, enhanced mood, and energy the right kind that doesn't bring crashes or jitters. This was the secret for me to invest in myself so I could show up better for my kids, and career, and start giving my best YES. This brought balance to all areas of my life.
"Stress is unavoidable. The goal is not to be stress-free. The goal is to help support our bodies to manage the stress better"

The first-time meeting Lindsay there was this energy between us and I can't tell you how excited I am that she is joining us here on the Sharing the manual podcast. We are talking about values, truly listening, and how to connect our brains and our mind.
Lindsay Harle-Kadatz is known as the Values Vixen (that…and a quirky human). As a leadership team brand and mindset consultant, she supports leaders who want to have an immediate and lasting impact on their people - and it starts with values. Values are the tasty mental prune juice that teams need to create a culture of flow, enthusiasm and joy to produce better-quality bottom-line results. A Neuro Change Method™️ Master Certified Practitioner, branding specialist, and ever-learning listening student & facilitator, she uses a different lens for connecting values to actions that matter to gain real traction in business (and life). For Lindsay, breathing life into a team goes beyond a pretty branding document with captivatingly clever statements. It goes to the core of engaging individual beliefs and accountability. It goes to the core of being human.
Before we jump into your nuggets of wisdom Lindsay shares the story behind her heart for what she does and how she shows up. Give a listen you will love this amazing human. She says:
1) Values are not fluffy marketing statements. They are the underlying beliefs upon which we take action. So - are your actions aligned with your values? You can tell in a few ways (flow, experiences, stories, natural state), whether or not they're junk values (Johann Hari), and whether or not you're intrinsically motivated by them when challenges present themselves
2) Listening saves lives. When we take the time to deeply listen without judgment or expectation, we
i) create opportunities for people to choose to start healing on their journey, and
ii) create opportunities for us to be more connected and aware of what listening means in our body, as a process and practiced skill.
3) The brain and the mind must connect for there to be long-lasting sustainable change (in other words - how we change our behaviour/habits/ways of being).
Love what Lindsay shared with me: the story from within this: values save lives; people when heard hold themselves accountable; we can only create real change when everything is in full alignment. There are lots of poop analogies, neuron analogies, and really bad puns. It's a story for the awkwardly weird to embrace and be embraced.

Hey there everyone, so glad that you have joined us on today's episode where we debunk some of the myths about money. We bring light to real, honest, brave money confessions. I can't tell you how blessed I am to have shared space with these remarkable individuals from all walks of life who let me into their emotions around money.
We do this so you feel informed and empowered that you are not alone in this big bad world of finances. There are a lot of things out there for you to consume and hopefully, you get what you need right here. My hope for you is that you will have the courage to open up in a whole new way when it comes to your money. You know it to be true that our emotions have tremendous power both consciously and subconsciously. It's time we take back the power.
We are diving into myths, and confessions I wonder what will surprise you and which ones you can relate to. I know for myself there were lots that I resonated with. So much of this comes from our very own money stories and the lenses through which we do life. I've talked about it before that we wear filters and those filters distort the truth. It's leading you astray, it's time you reach financial wholeness. The only way to do that is to speak out your shame, guilt, fear, worries, and embarrassment about money to a safe person who can help you dismantle and rewire your patterns, so you have control of your finances, and your finances aren't controlling you.
Get back in the driver's seat of your life so you can kick ass with your money. Reach out to learn more about our ten-week intensive financial healing workbook. Learn More
I am stoked to have Tanya Kelloway joining me on the episode where we talk about stress and burnout. Tanya is a doctor of acupuncture at Calgary Integrative Medicine. Over the last twelve months, I have come to know her heart and I am truly blessed to call her my dear friend. We have journeyed together through a remarkable program to get bold and visible. I am impressed by her expertise and story. I love Tanya's ability to partner with her patients on the healing journey, helping them move the needle on their health. She takes you from living with day-to-day pain, stress, anxiety, and digestive upset and living in a balanced system where you can show up as your best self.
Tanya brings such richness to my life, and I know that without a doubt she will leave you, listeners, with tangible things you can do to care for yourself. Her story of living in a body whose nervous system was easily overstimulated had her compelled to learn more. Our bodies are the best teachers we must listen to them.
We talk about Stress, productivity, burnout and three ways our bodies handle it: Ventral, Sympathetic, and Dorsal Branches. She gives us tips on how we can self-regulate through gentle kindness. Hand on your heart and stomach while breathing in, and surround yourself with safe loving people, meditation, acupuncture, massage, and exercise are great ways to help combat your fight, flight, and freeze responses.
Ventral - when we are regulated into the ventral aspect of our autonomic nervous system, we feel our best selves. Safe loved, rested, stable.
Sympathetic - this is when we feel uncomfortable in our bodies, we may feel anxious, stressed, agitated, and aggressive. We tend to overeat, or have no appetite, we easily gain weight, struggle sleeping, have digestive problems, and have pain and tension in our bodies.
The dorsal Branch - is the oldest branch of our nervous system and is activated in times of acute or chronic stress. This is the protective mode, different than the sympathetic. This is the part of the nervous system where we can experience burnout. Our bodies go into shutdown. We are weak, everything is hard. A great example is a gazelle and how they collapse in a lion's mouth. That is what our nervous system is doing. To have the best chance at survival.
Stress in our nervous system is telling us that something is wrong, consider it like an alarm that tells you if you are offline. It needs your attention. Get curious and lean into where things are showing up in your body and dig deep to discover why. The key is to pull yourself in with compassion and love. Talk to your inner child whose nervous system is dysregulated. Speak kindness and gently to them.
Be sure to follow Dr. Tanya Kelloway and check out her website www.tanyakelloway.com
This episode is going to be fun and fast; I just know it. The title hits it home - What you water grows. Now if you're a mom you know this to be true. If you feed your kids your grocery bill grows. Especially now is anyone else feeling the pinch at the grocery store. The lady at the checkout must think that I have monkeys in my house for the number of bananas I buy. We all know that bananas are the cheapest fruit you can feed a kid. My teenage boy eats three a day, I know right I am surprised that kid isn't bummed right up. Too much info for the podcast - I think not.
This wonderful phrase what you water grows is true for all aspects of our lives. You have likely heard it said a little differently before: You are what you eat, what you fear you create, you become what you declare, and so forth.
I like to switch things up and get you thinking so let's put thought to how what YOU water grows plays out in your money. Accountability and ownership are key ingredients to healing and true change.

I am so excited to have Michelle Arpin Begina on the podcast today. The way she views money as more than just numbers warms my heart. She marries the science of wealth management with the art of financial therapy. You have all heard me say that in order to reach financial freedom you need to become financially whole from within. I refer to this as a financial healing journey.
Michelle has a long list of amazing accomplishments New Jerseys Five Star Wealth Manager, twice named one of Worth Magazines' best 250 Financial Advisors. In 2020 Michelle launched a lifestyle platform that provides women with financial education, tools, events, and emotional intelligence on money. Not to mention being on TEDx recently sharing "Talking about Money is Easy When You Know How." - Love this!
This my friend is why she is with us today, her heart for what she does runs deep. She shared with me her why a couple of months back and I knew she was the right fit for the show. She like me has a money story and speaks to the behaviour bias having an impact on our financial decisions. Michelle shares with us today her very own story followed by your nuggets of wisdom.
Michelle gives us the secret formula to success in this episode, she also has a website full of wisdom and ways to transcend your money beliefs. Check out her website: https://michelleab.com/
Women have an inner knowing, be brave enough to stay truly aligned. Be brave enough to acknowledge it! Many women are afraid of what it will mean, how to change it, what others think and so forth. Deep down, many women have an inner knowing that needs us to act on. This requires courage, stepping out of what we have always done. When we don't, we stay safe and stay stuck. It's time to get comfortable being uncomfortable.
It is your job to disappoint as many people as long as you don't disappoint yourself. Give yourself self-love, grace, and compassion to learn and unlearn. Self-abandonment is real, we negate ourselves in hopes to please others. Carly gives us so many great tips as to how we can show up brave, with courage and model healthy behaviours.
Self-reflection role as a woman, people-pleasing, perfectionism, fitting a mould that we think is the norm or a good reflection. Take an inventory, prioritize, get support where you feel safe, seen, known and understood, do an assessment detect what is happening and understand why. Then be brave enough to shake things up.

Are you intrigued? I loved drafting this episode and really reflecting on what I wish I would have known sooner. When I ask both men and women the questions "What do you wish you knew sooner when it comes to money?" a lot of them referred to saving earlier, making better decisions, not falling into some of the money traps, knowing the programs that are out there like RRSP, RDSP, TFSA and so on. But I want to hit on a few more things that many of our parents didn't teach us about money: the shame, embarrassment, superiority complexes, money infidelity/secrecy, money obsession, destructive behaviours, passed down generational money traumas, financial abuse, money disorders, and money enmeshment. I hope that you are listening and realizing that YES there is a lot more to money than just numbers. And when these issues arise or are within family dynamics having financial wholeness is hard. Reaching your finish lines can and being hijacked by one or more of these issues. And without recognizing it or bringing awareness to it we are unable to make the necessary changes needed to reach fulfillment.
Give this episode a listen and do some journaling, and some self-reflection. What can you relate to? How have your emotions, or life experiences played out in your money? When you are ready to have financial wholeness and heal areas that are affecting your finances reach out. It is your time to start kicking ass financially.
Dare we talk about money, women and starting over we have with us today, Kimberley Manning. Her story of being in Corporate Finance and starting over after divorce provides us with some great insight into the challenges that we woman face.
We talk about how easy it is to fall into solitude, autopilot, and survival mode, Yes - I've been there.
We touch on the importance of knowing and believing in self, understanding our very own resiliency. I love how we can all share what we wish we knew sooner in our lives, as this is empowerment for others going through something similar. So, pay attention my wonderful peeps as she shares the importance of having the right people on your bus and what that looks like.
This brings us to another great takeaway which is how our pride and ego get in the way, how they can show up and not serve us well. Stay tuned you don't want to miss this episode.

So very excited to bring to you today our first guest on the Sharing the Manual Podcast, Krista Malden. She is a remarkable human, not to mention a rockstar. She originated in the music industry, a founder and publisher of Community Now Magazine, which you should check out if you haven't already! Her love for storytelling comes through in all her work. She wears many hats and is a mom and a drummer.
Krista and I have had multiple conversations about mental health and wellness, trying to make this world a better place by building a community around conversations. She will be sharing with us today that it is okay NOT to be okay. But, of course, we all share from the point of living our very own journey.
This is a hard story for anyone to tell because to tell it you have to admit that at some point you were not ok. And most people don’t realize they aren’t ok - when they aren’t ok until it’s too overwhelming. If you are “living” in the not ok space … everyday… that’s hard. (On all aspects of our lives…health, wellness, work, social, family…)
Imagine having the good and evil on your shoulders yelling at you from both directions, imagine fighting your own mind.
Being ok with not being ok Is complicated and it means we have to own how we feel Right now … and be ok with how we feel right now.
I’ll be the first to admit I’m not there.
Build your community of support, try people on - I just love this!
Being ok with not being ok means acceptance of the moment. Breathe it, live it, release it…accepting it is the key.
I, too, asked her what her favourite quote is, as it sheds some insight into her heart. "Until thought is linked with purpose, there is no intelligent accomplishment." James Allen.
The topic for today's episode came about rather organically. As it turns out, my life is a guinea pig in my line of work. I help people talk about money, emotions, and emotions around money, and I help them reach their financial finish lines.
I talk about money stories, our old money narratives and how we must dismantle subconscious patterns to reach financial wholeness. I love what I do and spend my days helping people protect what is most important, their loved ones, and to live out their money differently. Now I say this because my husband, who listens to me prepare speeches workshops and is aware of my money workbook, completely caught me off guard when he purchased a truck without discussing the matter. Oh ya, that happened; he went to the bank, got himself a line of credit and decided to trade in his current vehicle for a truck.
This being said, I had to pull some statistics on money and relationships it was alarming. And so we bring you today some tools, tips and tricks on how we can have the hard conversations with our partners. How have you lived out your money through filters?
What you were told, learned, experienced, and believed to be true. Your partner also has these filters in which they do life and their money. Stay tuned as we help families navigate yours, mine and ours when it comes to blended families. Financial compatibility does not mean you need to go looking for a partner with the same financial standing as yourself - or that you need to kick someone to the curb because they don't earn enough money. Rather, this kind of compatibility has much more to do with your respective attitudes towards and habits surrounding money.
I have been working on this one for weeks. I didn’t even know it was a thing until it was a thing, and then as I spoke aloud of my very own struggle with it – what do you know many others felt as though I was reading their mind.
What the hell, and here I thought it was just me being all crazy and shit. Many of you have heard me talk about picking your friends carefully as you are on average a sum of the five people you spend the most time with. I have also said that your friends and your community can either make or break your finances. I believe this to be true also. What I didn’t know to be true is that we woman I can only speak for us as I have not inquired regarding the mind of men. We woman long for close friendships, belonging, and a sense of community but, guess how many of us women feel alone, and isolated – now granted I know that covid hasn’t helped all of this I get that. Oh, my word the number of women that resonated with a quick video that I had on my social opened this can of worms.
I unpack the struggles and give some tangible takeaways for you to build your very own community of awesome humans.
This one is going to be a blast, why because there are times when I don’t know who the parent is in my home, lol. I laugh because sometimes I think my kids are teaching me far more than I have ever taught them through the years. For an adult, I lack the idea to have roots deeply planted in the ground. I’m a little more of a free spirit than some.

There were a lot of rough patches let me tell you which I will be sharing with you today in hopes to make you laugh and realize you are not alone and you to got this!
