In Hebrew, the word Hallel indicated joyous praise, to extravagantly or to very confidently boast about the fantastic greatness of God. Yah is of course indicative of Yahweh, the Hebrew name of God translated LORD (in all capital letters in most English translations of the Bible). Put the 2 together and you get Hallelujah!
Let us extravagantly and confidently boast about the fantastic greatness of the LORD together. Hallelujah!

This week we pray for China, a country of over 1.3 billion people. There are 223 cities in China with populations of more than 1 million. As a communist country, they are officially an atheistic country - but their people are hungry for spiritual things. Pray that the truth of our LORD Jesus Christ will change lives in China today!

Because we are his dear children - May we live a life filled with love
Not just a little love whenever we feel particularly loving - but FILLED with love

Watch what God does, and then you do it,
like children who learn proper behavior from their parents.
Mostly what God does is love you. Keep company with him and learn a life of love.
Observe how Christ loved us. His love was not cautious but extravagant.
He didn't love in order to get something from us but to give everything of himself to us. Love like that.

There is an old song - perhaps you've heard it - with these words...
Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His Wonderful Face
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim
In the light of His Glory and Grace
Worship re-calibrates our priorities doesn't it? What really is important? What do I really need? God gives me everything I need and more! He forgives my sin... He has sent his own Holy Spirit to live within me... He puts peace and love and kindness into my heart...
In 2 Peter Chapter 1 we are told that God's divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness.. Through His glory and goodness, God has given us his very great and precious promises! Through these great and precious promises, we participate in the divine nature and escape the corruption in the world caused by evil desires.
God's divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness. . .
All of that has come to us because we know the One who chose us.
God chose us because of his own glory and goodness.
God has given us his very great and valuable promises.
He gave us these promises so we can share in his nature. His own Holy Spirit lives within us!
God also gave us these promises so we can honor him by living a holy life - a life that seeks to honor and glorify Him.
When I turn my eyes upon Jesus - and meditate upon what great and precious promises he has given me... the things of earth fade in to their rightful place of dim background... Nothing can compare to the Glory and Grace of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ...*

You are the beginning and ending of everything.
You are all I need.
