Today, my guest Mia Bolden, a Coach and Motivational Speaker, shares her journey of self-discovery.
Mia grew up in a middle-class family. She was the oldest sibling and had a stepsister with an Asian appearance. Mia’s father was black. So, Mia started to compare herself, her skin color, and her hair with her stepsister. By doing this, she began to make bad decisions, rebelling, running away from home, hanging with the wrong people, and selling drugs.
Seeing people from her circle start going to jail, Mia called her mother to move back home.
Mia was in the worst situation of her life. She lost her self-esteem, her self-confidence, and she gained weight. It was so hard that the voice inside her became louder. She wanted to lose weight and change her life.
Mia started to go to the gym and practice yoga. She discovered her spiritual awakening and changed her life.
Now she empowers others to transform their lives.

Have you ever had a traumatic experience that you keep secret? Can you imagine how it can affect your life, your behavior, and your relationship with yourself and others?

It can be intimidating to talk about spirituality in the medical world. But what if spirituality is one thing that can help people improve their mental health and overall well-being?
I'm Mina Qandar. Your Host and on today's episode of Wellness All Seasons with Mina, I talk about the role of spirituality in well-being with Dr. Savitha Raveendran, Psychiatrist, and Advanced Hypnotherapist.
Dr. Savitha explains the importance of having a holistic approach to help people heal from their trauma and find their well-being.
She explains how she deals with her clients and offers them the appropriate way for their particular situation.
We talked about the importance of spiritual practices that can help find inner peace and focus on what matters most to you.
Spirituality alone doesn't resolve all the problems and doesn't replace medical treatment when it's necessary.

Emotions are an integral part of being human. They play a significant role in how we perceive and interact with the world around us. Expressing emotions can vary from one person to another and can be influenced by individual differences, cultural norms, and personal circumstances.
Some individuals express their emotions openly and visibly and others don’t. In this episode, you will discover how to deal with your emotions and the importance of emotional well-being in your daily life.
Hi. I’m Mina Qandar, founder of Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast. Welcome. If you are new and interested in your well-being physically, mentally, emotionally, and financially, consider subscribing so that you don’t miss the upcoming episodes.
Emotions serve to process information, make decisions, and connect with others on a deeper level. It is important to note that having emotions is a natural and normal aspect of the human experience.
Some express their emotions openly and visibly through their facial expressions, body language, tone of voice, or words. They use their emotions as a response to personal experiences, events, relationships, challenges, or other triggers. This can influence many aspects of a person’s life depending on the environmental, social, and relational circumstances.
The intensity and expression of emotions can impact your well-being and the outcome. That’s why it’s crucial to know how to manage your emotions effectively and protect your well-being in both of life’s ups and downs.
Here are 7 key components of emotional well-being:
Emotional Awareness: Your ability to recognize and understand your emotions and the feelings of others.
Emotional Regulation: Your capacity to manage and control emotional responses appropriately, avoiding extreme emotional reactions.
Coping Skills: Your ability to effectively cope with stress, adversity, and life changes without being overwhelmed by negative emotions.
Resilience: Your capacity to bounce back from setbacks, difficulties, and traumas, maintaining inner strength and balance.
Positive Relationships: Having supportive, nurturing, and positive relationships with family, friends, and social networks.
Self-esteem: A healthy sense of self-worth and self-acceptance, fostering a positive self-image.
Life Satisfaction: Overall contentment and fulfillment in life, even in the face of challenges.
Emotional well-being plays a vital role in your overall well-being and quality of life, influencing various aspects such as physical health, social interactions, productivity, and achieving personal goals. It requires ongoing self-awareness and self-care to nurture and maintain a healthy emotional state.

Research has shown that our emotions and physical well-being are interconnected. One can impact the other and the consequences are significant.
Emotions refer to the state of a person and the ability to handle the challenges and experiences of life. It’s important to note that emotions result from your personal experiences, physical well-being, environmental circumstances, and your interactions with others.
Depending on the quality of these factors, you can have either positive or negative emotions.
In this episode, you will discover the relationship between your emotions and your well-being.
You are listening to the Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast. I’m your host Mina Qandar and excited to be with you in this new episode. If you listen to Wellness All Seasons with Mina, you know how important your well-being is to me, and if you are new, you are welcome and would love to know from where you are listening.
In the previous episodes, we talked about different situations that can cause negative emotions, which significantly affect a person’s well-being. Check episodes of trauma, unhealthy relationships, unhealthy workplaces, and much more.
When you experience positive emotions, you express joy and positive energy. On the other hand, if you experience negative emotions, you feel weak, sad, and anxious. This can disturb your sleep, which leads to fatigue and feeling irritated.
It’s crucial to be aware of your emotions, identify the root causes, and manage them so that they don’t affect your well-being.
My friends, you deserve to experience more positive emotions than the negative ones.
In some cases, negative emotions can have a positive impact on our growth. We can feel them, learn from them, and use them to change our life.
Be aware of your emotions and use them for your well-being.
Don’t let negative emotions destroy your well-being.
Emotional well-being is a dynamic state. You can actively work on improving your emotional well-being through self-awareness, seeking support from others, engaging in healthy activities, and practicing self-care.

Your busy daily life can be stressful and deprive you of your overall well-being. Your well-being matters. That’s why it’s crucial to let go and enjoy the present moment.
Here are 5 tips to help you in your daily life:
Be fully present and live the present moment without judgment. Incorporate practices, such as deep breathing exercises, meditation, yoga, or walking. These practices can help you let go and focus on the present.
Prioritize self-care: As a busy woman, it’s easy to forget your well-being. Having your regular self-care time is necessary. Choose what you enjoy most and do it.

Many events and experiences can be traumatic, such as experiencing violence, accidents, natural disasters, sexual assault, ongoing abuse, or other incidents. A traumatic experience can have a profound impact on a person’s well-being, physically, mentally, emotionally, or socially.
Here are some common ways in which a traumatic experience can impact a person’s well-being:
Physical impact: chronic pain, headaches, sleep disturbances, fatigue, and a weakened immune system.
Mental impact: a traumatic experience may contribute to depression, anxiety, nightmares, flashbacks, and hypervigilance.
Emotional impact: Such as feelings of fear, anxiety, anger, sadness, guilt, or shame. Managing and expressing emotions may be compromised.
Relational impact: A traumatic experience may lead to difficulties with trust, intimacy, and emotional connection.
Cognitive impact: Individuals may have trouble concentrating on tasks or have difficulties to make decisions.
Self-esteem and identity: The person may experience feelings of guilt, shame, or worthlessness.
It's important to note that the impact of trauma can vary from person to person, and the severity and duration of symptoms can also differ. Seeking professional help from a therapist who specializes in trauma can provide valuable support in navigating the healing process and addressing the specific impacts on well-being.

We are not equal in how we react to challenging situations. Some people have the power to use them positively. They learn from them, take action to change things and move on. However, others struggle with holding inside tension, strong negative emotions, and thoughts.
So, what can you do to face a hard situation that you cannot control?
Challenging experiences may cause anger, irritation, and frustration. These feelings hurt your well-being, physically, mentally, and emotionally.
If you pay more attention to the bad experiences, you suffer more. So, how to deal with and keep your well-being?
The important thing to start with is to trust that things happen for a reason and be open to the opportunity to live new experiences.
Second, be positive, learn from your challenges, and use them instead of letting them use you.
And finally, practice letting go by focusing on what you can control or change. This is not easy but it’s a process.
Practicing Letting go is so powerful. It helps you transform your life and protect your well-being.

Being a nurse involves being in the service of the patients, taking care of them, answering their demands and needs, dealing with the pressure of doctors, hospital administrators, and the families of the patients

Nurses work long hours, experience others’ behavior, and know a lot of stress. This impacts the quality of their lives and their physical and mental well-being.

Today’s episode is about How to Manage Your Energy and Be More Productive.
If you feel excited when you schedule your week but frustrated at the end of the week because you didn’t accomplish all that you have planned to do, I invite you to manage your energy by following these tips:
Track your energy level during the day: in the morning, afternoon, and evening. You will notice which moment you have high, normal, or low energy.
Understand why. Describe your day and time with high energy and the opposite. This will help you review and adjust your activities, tasks, and rest following your energy.
If you feel tired in the morning, ask the question why? Did you sleep well? If not, why?
The idea here is to help you find the reasons why you lack energy.
Check your lifestyle habits
Check your diet: What you eat and how you feel after.
Track the things that give you energy and those that drain your energy.
Track your relationships. Think about how you feel about the persons you interact with at home, at the workplace, with your friends, and on social media.
Track your energy level during the week: The days your energy is high, and when it’s low.
Organize your week, work, and activities around your energy.
Listen to your body and adapt your activities, rest when you feel tired, and let go of the things you can’t change.
Adopt healthy lifestyle habits, eat healthy food, and practice your favorite physical activity regularly.
If you need help with these tips, you can DM me on Instagram: @mina_q2021,

If you have a job in which you feel stressed, you can’t organize your work as you like and you consume more coffee and unhealthy snacks to have energy, it’s time to think about it.
I’m here to help you find clarity and decide about the quality of your life and your physical and mental well-being.
We, women, our energy is cyclic and seasonal depending on which phase we are in. We are concerned by the change in energy, and we can manage it.
I hope that this episode will help you understand what is going on and empower you to act and master your energy.

#38 – Your Well-being Here and Now
If you think about your well-being plan as a new year’s resolution, stop and listen to this short episode until the end.
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, a healthy lifestyle coach and founder of the Wellness All Seasons Podcast. My mission is to empower you to take control of your physical and mental well-being no matter what season of the year or your life and to help you stay fit, healthy, energetic, and serene.
Welcome, and if you like the podcast, hit subscribe button.
As a reminder, The Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast is a short episode every Tuesday at 10 am EST, except this one, and an interview on Friday at 10 am EST.
Many people think of their fitness and their weight on occasions only: New year, summertime, birthday, marriage, etc.
This approach has negative impacts physically and emotionally. It causes a lot of frustration and yo-yo effects on your body. The reason why it’s time to stop to think about your physical and mental well-being in terms of occasion and season and start to make it your daily concern.
You take care of your well-being physically and mentally here and now. Don’t wait for January or another occasion. Each day is a new occasion to do a good choice in how to nourish your body, your mind, your heart, and your soul.
Each season has its characteristics and needs. For example, fruits and vegetables in winter are not the same as in summer, that’s why it’s key to eat local products of each season. The same thing in terms of the seasons of our life, our needs in nutrition, fitness, and energy are not the same in our 50 as in our 20 years.
We take care of our physical and mental well-being by living in the present moment and focusing on our needs in each season.
I hope it helps. Please tell me what you think, and let me a review on Spotify or Apple Podcast. You can DM me on Instagram: @mina_q2021

Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, the founder of the Wellness All Seasons Podcast. I’m so thrilled to have you here. Welcome and thank you so much for listening.
The number of sleep depends on age. The American Academy of Sleep Medicine recommends between 7 and 9 hours for adults.
But the quality is as important as the quantity. If you have an agitated night and your sleep is interrupted, you will not have a good sleep quality even if you sleep 7, 8, or 9 hours.
Some factors can affect sleep for women, such as :
Lack of time for busy women who do everything by themselves,
Hormonal changes during pregnancy and menopause,
Women need to be aware of these periods and make sure to manage their sleep because sleeping well and enough hours helps us have more energy, a good mood, be productive, and feel serene.
How much do you sleep?

Lack of sleep or poor sleep quality may lead to weight gain and increase the risk of health problems.
Hi, I am Mina Qandar, a healthy lifestyle coach and founder of the Wellness All Seasons Podcast, welcome and thank you so much for listening.
If you don’t sleep enough or you have poor sleep quality, your metabolism is impacted.
Studies mentioned that lack of sleep affects the regulation of two hormones: Leptin and ghrelin. Leptin decreases the appetite and ghrelin increases it.
Staying awake influences the habit of eating. People who don’t sleep, tend to eat more or consume unhealthy snacks, which facilitates gaining weight.
Lack of sleep or poor sleep quality hurts mood and energy. People who don’t sleep well, feel tired and irritated.
If you don’t sleep enough or your sleep is not good, you need to check the causes. Is it due to your nutrition, your environment, or other problems such as your relationships, work, or finances?
In the next episode, I will give you some helpful tips to sleep naturally and easily.

Can Stress Cause Weight Gain?
The answer is Yes.
Hi, I am Mina Qandar, a healthy lifestyle coach and founder of the Wellness All Seasons Podcast. Welcome and thank you so much for listening. My goal is to empower you to take control of your well-being.
In this short episode, I want to remind you that stress can cause a lot of health problems.
Stress can affect your physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
When you are stressed, cortisol increases in your body. This slowdown your metabolism and makes you feel irritated, overwhelmed, and out of control.
These feelings can lead to unhealthy behaviors, such as emotional eating, binge eating, craving sugar, sweet, salt, and fatty food, drinking alcohol, smoking more cigarettes, skipping meals, lack of sleep, etc.
All these have a bad impact on the mind, the body, and well-being in general.
As a result, stress facilitates gaining weight.
Managing your stress levels will help you to be healthy physically, mentally, and emotionally.
Do you want to know how to do it?
Stay tuned and make sure you listen to the next episode in which my guest will share her tips to help you manage your stress levels and be serene.

Does weight gain contribute to depression, or does depression lead to gain weight, or they are interconnected?
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, a healthy lifestyle coach and founder of the Wellness All Seasons Podcast. I’m very excited to be with you in this new episode. Welcome and thank you so much for listening. If it’s the first time you listen to Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast, please make sure you subscribe so that you don’t miss the upcoming episodes.
In this episode, I want to share with you what I know about the relationship between depression and weight gain. As mentioned in the previous episodes, there are a lot of factors that affect our physical and mental health. For example, being a workaholic or working hard might deprive a person of having a healthy lifestyle, such as having activities, eating healthy, and having a good relationship with self and others. As a result, the person might know difficulties to manage many aspects of life and experience stress, anger, anxiety, overwhelm, frustration, lack of sleep, fatigue, and depression.
These feelings can lead to eating higher fat and sugar food, which facilitates gaining weight.
In general, when women gain weight, they are not happy, they don’t accept their bodies, they lose their self-esteem, and their self-confidence and they become depressed. In this case, depression is a result of gaining weight.
So it’s very important to be aware of what is going on in your life and how you manage yourself and all the aspects of your life.
We are human and sometimes we don’t know how to handle everything in our lives. That’s why seeking help is key.

Sometimes we think that working hard will help us to have the career and the life we want. Dedicating all the time to work and underestimating taking time to prepare healthy meals, rest, sleep and spend time with others can be disastrous to our well-being.
Ignoring our physical and mental health can have negative consequences and we may feel frustrated, overwhelmed, and not fulfilled. These disagreements can lead to depression, turning to food to find comfort or other addictive behaviors.

In some workplaces, poor management develops the pressure to overwork or to work overtime. This behavior becomes a criterion to build a career in this kind of company culture.
How do these conditions affect the well-being of the workers, especially women?
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, a healthy lifestyle coach and founder of Wellness All Seasons Podcast. Welcome and thank you so much for listening. I’m very excited to be with you and share with you all what I know, learned, experienced, and what I do to stay fit, healthy, energized, and serene.
Having worked a full-time desk job for 20 years and being able to keep the same weight for more than 15 years now, I confirm that those who are focused on their work more than themselves and their well-being develop some unhealthy behaviors that cause a lot of damage on their physical and mental health. They also gain weight.
I noticed that ladies gained weight after six or nine months in the company. When they start, they are slim, less stressed, more confident, and look happy. A few months later, they start to be stressed, drink more coffee, eat unhealthy snacks, and don’t take time to eat and rest. Most of the time, they eat in front of their computer. They don’t move their body for hours.
This lifestyle leads to a lot of mental and physical health problems.
To have a good body shape and stay healthy, you need to make your well-being a priority because when you are healthy mentally and physically, you become more productive, happy, and fulfilled.
If you spend a lot of time in a desk job, working from home, or working on your project at home and you don’t know how to keep your body shape, have energy, and be serene, Wellness All Seasons Podcast is for you. Ladies before marriage dedicate time only to themselves. They take care of themselves and pay more attention to their bodies, their weight, their nutrition, their fitness, and in their well-being in general. But most of them gain weight after they get married and have their first kid.
In this episode, we will see why and how to avoid it.
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, the founder of Wellness All Seasons Podcast. This podcast is all about how to stay fit in all seasons with a healthy lifestyle.
Welcome and thank you so much for listening. I’m so excited to be with you.
After marriage, women start to have other responsibilities, other priorities, other projects, and other family goals. The lifestyle changes completely. Eating habits are different. Sometimes, women stopped their fitness. When they have the first kid, women know hormonal changes. They don’t have enough sleep and they are more stressed, especially if they have full-time jobs.
These conditions lead to gaining weight easily. So how to avoid it?
We, women, should understand that it’s so important to continue to take care of ourselves as before, to make our well-being a priority by continuing to eat healthy food, do physical activities, rest, sleep well, and manage our stress levels.
This is not being selfish because if we don’t take care of ourselves, we can’t do it for others.
Taking care of everybody and forgetting yourself may lead to feeling overwhelmed and exhausted. Which may trigger turning to food as comfort. This facilitates gaining weight.
In the next episode, my guest will share her story, how she struggled with weight gain and as a result, she suffered from depression.

Women may suffer from body image due to weight gain in every period of their lives even at an early age. This can have a lot of negative consequences such as comparison with others, frustration, depression, feeling insecure, etc.

Usually, women gain weight when they have a baby. So how to lose weight and stay fit after pregnancy?

We are not equal regarding weight. Some women gain weight easily, and others are naturally thin.
A lot of women suffer from being overweight and are looking for being slim. Others struggle with being thin and feel disadvantaged as attractive women.
Today, my guest is an extraordinary woman Tannia Gonzalez. She is originally from Latin America and will share her story about growing thin in a society where to meet the standard is to have a curvy body.

Each culture has its symbols, norms, values, rituals, and codes regarding well-being physically and mentally. The standards of the society in which we live can influence how we perceive ourselves.

Our perception of ourselves and how we look is influenced by cultural standards and the society we live in.
In some countries, having a certain curvy body is a criterion of fitting or not into what society deems a beautiful woman. For example in some African countries, girls eat more to have a certain weight to get married.
In The United States, Canada, Australia, and Europe for example, women are seeking a slim body shape.
In Latin America, being skinny can be a problem for women.
You see, culture can affect how we think about our bodies and influence our attitudes and behaviors.
We start to criticize ourselves and our bodies. We find something or a part of our body that doesn’t look like how we want to be or how the other women look like. This mindset can create misery, suffering, and low self-esteem.
But what if we cherish ourselves as we are and find our well-being in what makes us feel good without comparison or self-destruction?
I have the pleasure to announce that my guest for the next episode is originally from Latin America and she will share her story.

There are a lot of emotional triggers that can impact us depending on our mindset and how we deal with them. These emotional triggers can be anxiety, fear, anger, trauma, grief, toxic relationship, abuse, stress, lack of sleep and rest, feeling unfulfilled at work or in life, etc.
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, your host. Welcome to Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast and thank you so much for listening. I’m very happy to have you. This podcast is for you. In this episode, my guest Maria LiPuma, a Body Confidence Coach. She shares her story of childhood trauma and her struggle with weight. She started to have emotional eating and developed an addictive behavior toward food. As a result, she gained weight.
Maria followed many diet plans and even if she lost weight, she didn't feel good until she understood that her appearance was not the only thing to resolve, but her inner peace.
When we have an emotional trigger, we start to look for something that may help us to support this emotion. Each person has her reaction.
If we turn to food or a specific food each time we have an emotional trigger, we may manifest pleasure and comfort in the beginning, but repeating this action becomes a habit. The more we do it, the more we start to lose control. Therefore, we can easily develop become addicted.
The gap between emotional eating and food addiction is very small. This is why being aware of these emotional triggers and knowing how to manage them will help you to be in control of the situation.

No matter where we are and who we are, we express emotions and we have feelings. These emotions and feelings may be positive or negative.
Two persons may experience the same emotion, but each one will feel and perceive it differently. As a result, each person will have different behavior.
And this is what I want to share with you in this episode of Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast.
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, your host. Welcome and thank you so much for listening. I’m very happy to have you. This podcast is for you. If you are new, please subscribe so that you don’t miss upcoming episodes. And if you have already listened to the previous episodes of Wellness All Seasons, welcome again to this new episode.
As I mentioned, each person expresses their feelings towards a particular emotion. The way one person behaves is linked to the emotion he or she is experiencing. Emotions influence behavior. As a consequence, the behavior comes to express how the person feels.
That’s why turning to food or to a specific food to respond to a certain emotion means that the person starts to use food as a source of pleasure.
The habit of using food as a source of pleasure leads to building a strong relationship with food. In this case, we engage our brain and our body. The more intense the relationship with food is, the less able we are to think clearly and logically. This is how a person became addicted to food or any other object.
Most of the time, the result of food addiction is gaining weight, which may cause some health problems.
To avoid these problems, it’s very important to manage your emotions and know how to deal with any negative emotions without using food or another object.
If you are experiencing any kind of emotions that push you to eat, please contact me. I’m here to help you. Book a free call with me at:

Have you ever asked the question why are you eating?
Do you eat when you are hungry or when you have a negative emotion?
These questions are very important to evaluate your relationship with food because developing the habit to turn to food or a specific food such as a Chocolate bar for example when you have a negative emotion leads to getting out of control of the relationship with food.
The need to eat can become critical and unhealthy.
This is what we will discuss with my guest in this episode. I’m very excited to have you here and thank you so much for listening. If you are new, make sure you subscribe.

Many people find comfort in food when they feel sad, stressed, angry, alone, or have other negative emotions.
But what if eating to respond to these negative émotions becomes a real addiction and a source of pain, shame, fear, self-sabotage, and gaining weight?
Hi, I’m Mina Qandar, the host of Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast, Welcome. If you are new, make sure you subscribe, listen, comment, download, and share.
This episode is about the difference between eating because of hunger or because of negative emotions.
Using food to find comfort and not only to satisfy hunger leads to getting out of control of the relationship to food or a specific food.
Breaking the habit to turn to food when we have a negative emotion is sometimes vital. That’s why identifying these triggers and seeking help is necessary.
Having a healthy lifestyle will help you to be aware of how to nourish your body and stop using food to feel good.

Have you ever wondered how to keep the same body shape?
Are you experiencing gaining weight and you are spending time trying to put on your dress or pants but nothing suits you as before?
Do you know this feeling before going to work or somewhere else and you couldn’t wear what you wanted because of weight?
This is what I experienced more than 15 years ago, and in this episode, I will share with you my story.
Hi, I am the host, Mina Qandar, a Healthy Lifestyle Coach, I created Wellness All Seasons with Mina Podcast to empower you busy professional women to be fit, healthy, energetic, and serene.
When I was a student, I was slim, healthy, and never knew problems with weight, and I always loved doing exercise and paying attention to what I eat.
But when I shifted to working a full-time job in a stressful environment, spending a lot of time in a seated position, I didn’t feel fulfilled in the situation I found myself in. My relationship with food started to change. Eating became a source of pleasure, I found my comfort in eating tasty food, chocolate bars.
I became addicted to food, I was eating without being hungry and I stopped only when I felt pain in my stomach. I gained weight and started to have some health problems like blood circulation and back pain. I felt depressed and began to isolate myself.
I remember, I went on vacation and 10 days later when I went to come back, I had to buy other large jeans. Coming back home, I compared my clothes and the new jeans. I was shocked and decided to do everything possible to help me get my body shape back and wear my clothes again.
I started to search everything in nutrition, fitness, stress management, and self-development. I discovered 3 Easy Powerful Steps to follow and gave myself 30 days to get my body shape back. After one month, the jeans became very large and I started to have my smile again. Since then, I became patient with nutrition, fitness, and wellbeing. I was helping my friends and colleagues with healthy lifestyle tips to empower them to stay fit.
Now, I decided to empower more women by creating my podcast. And for those who want my help, I offer one-on-one coaching.
