A Warren, Ohio native, Ralph Stringer put together an All-American resume at NC State as a defensive back and kick returner before a freak injury derailed his playing career. After hanging up his cleats for good, Stringer began another all-star career, this time in the sports marketing industry. It was during this new journey that a young Ralph Stringer met a young Dan Marino and a lifetime friendship and business relationship was forged. For more than 30 years, Stringer has represented Marino in his marketing endeavors through his company, Neostar Sports & Entertainment. In The Tank, Ralph explains how a “country boy from Ohio” and a rock star quarterback made fast friends. He recalls the less than glamorous first deal he ever brought to Marino, shares what Jim Carey did to win Dan over and sell him on Ace Ventura, explains how the Hall of Fame quarterback invented a new category in the diet industry, and also reflects on the injury that took his eye and eventually his football career.
