Clay and John are sophomores at Birmingham Southern College. Clay is from Nashville, TN and is studying Art. John is from Birmingham, AL and is studying Mathematics with a minor in Psychology.

Before Season Builder they were facing:

Daily panic attacks, unsure of his major, trying to live in the moment but couldn’t stop focusing on the past or future.

Struggles connecting with people, constant anxiety,  waking up with a pit in stomach and couldn’t eat, mind going a million miles per hour, didn’t have a method of dealing with it, and just going through life.

Why do college guys feel overwhelmed:

  • Too much pressure of future
  • Expectations not met

Their responses of the impact Season Builder had:

  • Built confidence and motivation
  • Powerful to pick each others actions and hold each other accountable
  • Great it was to see their friend group grow together
  • The need of a mentor

Many of this generation can relate to anxiety, being overwhelmed, and not knowing how to deal with it. This is a great example of how crucial it is to have a mentor to help students develop a path out!
