Claire meets Trade Master!

Claire has difficulty during this phase of the climb. She is attacked and wounded by a large black-backed gull.

Claire continues her climb within the tunnels of the cliff and up the rock cliff wall.

After the boat hits turbulent weather, Claire washed ashore nearby the Giver's community. The village she arrives at is on a peninsula at the foot of a cliff. The readers are introduced to the following characters: Old Benedikt, Tall Andras, Alys, and Lame Einar. Alys begins to help Claire recover from her injuries.
