B2B focused Podcast, providing a take on how to sell more, make more and grow faster. Hosted by Dean Seddon, the CEO and Founder of MAVERRIK, a global training and consultancy company to businesses looking to achieve extraordinary growth and sales.
In this episode, I sit down with Helen Tudor, a LinkedIn coach and spiritual business mentor who has spent ten years building her personal brand, and who returned to the podcast five years after her first appearance to talk about the reinvention she is going through right now.
We talk about how she got into LinkedIn out of sheer necessity, £90,000 in personal debt as a single mum, looking for ten local clients at £250 a month, and why the platform's core mechanics have never really changed even as everything around it has.
Helen explains why almost every stuck business, whatever the size or budget, comes back to the same missing piece: a genuine, specific understanding of who the ideal client actually is. Not a vague audience, but a real person you can name and speak directly to.
We get into why saying no to money is one of the hardest and most important shifts a business owner makes, and why chasing every opportunity that comes your way keeps you exactly where you are.
Helen shares the financial rollercoaster of 2020 to 2021, making a million pounds one year and 564,000 pounds the next, and how that instability eventually led her away from launches and challenges towards deeper, more aligned work.
We also discuss the three things that determine whether someone actually follows through on advice: energy, personality and bandwidth, and why telling people what to do rarely works if you have not accounted for all three.
Towards the end, Helen talks about her book, Ideal Client Attraction and Spiritual Practice, why she wrote it in five days, and why she gives it away for free to anyone building a business.
If you are thinking about repositioning your business, trying to get clarity on who you actually serve, or working through what your next era looks like, this episode will give you a grounded, honest way to think it through.

In this episode, I sit down with Flo LaBrado, an executive leadership coach who spent 27 and a half years in telecommunications and technology, 25 of those in leadership, before leaving corporate life to build her own coaching practice.
We talk about the gradual process of getting clear on her own values, strengths and relationship with work, and how that clarity gave her more courage than the fear of starting something new. It was not one galvanising moment. It took around seven to eight months between getting serious about her strategy and opening for business.
Flo explains how she worked out exactly who she wanted to serve, not just a vague audience but people with a specific problem or goal. Through months of unpaid coaching and practising how she talked about her work at networking events, she learned to notice when she felt energised and connected versus when she was just saying what she thought people wanted to hear.
We get into the shift from having your professional identity tied to an organisation to owning it yourself, and why that distinction matters so much when your company's identity can change but your own purpose should not.
Flo shares the fear that comes with self-promotion, particularly for people who feel uncomfortable stepping into their own authority, and how reframing content as being in service to others helped her move past it.
We also discuss why depth of trust matters more than reach. Flo explains why relying on the hundred or so people who deeply trust you creates a stronger business than chasing volume, and why consistency across everything you put out, from your writing to your images, is what makes people feel safe enough to trust you.
Towards the end, Flo shares the exercise she uses with every client to help them get clear on their values: thinking back to a moment when everything in life felt right, and identifying what was actually present in that moment.
If you are thinking about leaving a corporate role, building a coaching or consulting practice, or trying to work out who you actually want to serve, this episode will give you a practical way to think it through.

I went down the self-absorbed rabbit warren of Googling myself this week, and what came back changed how I write.
Past the usual Companies House stuff, there was a snippet: my net worth. So I clicked. And Gemini told me, accurately, that I run Maverrik, roughly what the business turns over, and what my target is for this year. It knew my goal. Not because it hacked anything, but because I'd been posting about it on LinkedIn for months. My own posts had become training data.
That's the thing I don't think enough of us have caught up with. In the old world, I posted on LinkedIn and it stayed on LinkedIn. That's over. Everything I write is being hoovered up and spat back out in ChatGPT, Gemini and Claude, to people who are checking me out before they'll ever get on a call with me. And they are checking. Buyers have never been more sceptical. Reviews can be faked, engagement can be faked, entire people can be faked. Before anyone invests with you, they want reassurance you're not the latest in a long line of chancers.
So I asked myself a blunt question: what evidence am I actually leaving? I can't post "I'm really good at what I do" and hope the machines repeat it. I have to weave in the proof: the 25 years, the 500 people trained one-to-one, the 25,000 in sales teams, the 150,000 who've been through some form of training with me over 14 years of social selling.
In this episode I talk about how I've changed what I publish, and why I've stopped leaning on AI to write the things I want to last. I share the "public journal" approach I use when a client won't let me name them, why PR and blogs are about to matter far more than tips posts, and the simplest place to start if you haven't got a blog at all.
It's the easiest thing in the world to skip. That's exactly why it's worth doing.

In this episode, I share seven toxic habits that stopped my business growing, slowed my progress, cost me money and made running the business harder than it needed to be.
These are not habits I have observed from a distance. I have done every one of them.
I talk about how comparing myself with competitors damaged my confidence and pushed me towards changing things for the wrong reasons. I was comparing the messy reality of my business with the polished version of theirs that I could see online, without knowing what was really happening behind the scenes.
I also explain why chasing trends and looking for secret tactics is a trap. Trends change, algorithms change and technology changes, but people do not. The more deeply I understood my customers, the less I needed to rely on the latest tactic. That lesson has shaped how I think about business growth and social selling.
Another habit was searching for the answer instead of making a decision. I spent too long looking for certainty when what I really needed to do was assess the options, make the best choice I could and move forward.
I also share how half-hearted commitment delayed one of my biggest ideas for years. I wanted the outcome, but I had not committed to the work required to create it. I explain why real progress often means going beyond the point where it feels comfortable and giving an idea the time, attention and energy it needs.
I cover the danger of waiting until a situation hurts before taking action, confusing busyness with productivity and spending time on work that feels good but has little impact. I also talk about the cost of repeatedly fixing immediate problems instead of dealing with their root cause.
The biggest lesson is that growth does not come from reacting to whatever appears in front of you. It comes from making decisions, committing to the right work and building systems that move the business forward.
If you are relying on referrals, struggling to create consistent growth or trying to make social selling work, this episode will help you recognise the habits that may be holding you back.

In 2018, I stopped trying to sell everything and focused on one clear LinkedIn offer. Within four months, the business was generating £30,000–£40,000 a month, and that decision helped me make my first million.
In this episode, I explain why too many offers create confusion for you and your buyers, how focus improves your marketing, and why predictable revenue should come before diversification. You will also learn how to choose the right offer, position it for LinkedIn, and avoid using cheaper products or new services to disguise a messaging problem.
Who is Dean Seddon?
Dean Seddon is a global social selling expert with 15 years’ experience helping sales teams, consultants and business owners generate revenue through LinkedIn and social selling. Through Maverrik, he has trained more than 25,000 salespeople and business owners and helped clients generate over $100m in revenue.
If you get most of your business from referrals, this episode is for you. Being referral dependent feels comfortable, but it means you're relying on someone else's trust to bring you clients, and you don't control how or when that happens. In this episode I explain why that's a risky place to be and what to build instead.
I walk through the three-circle ecosystem I use with my clients:
I share why these numbers matter and how getting them right gives you predictable leads instead of feast and famine.
I also talk about my own approach to social selling, why I believe in always building trust ahead of where you want to be, and how I learned this the hard way when my first business ran out of leads. If you want consistent clients without becoming a full-time salesperson, this is the practical way to think about it.
Walk into a Rolex shop and try to buy the watch everyone wants. You can't. There's a waitlist. That scarcity is exactly why they can charge what they charge and choose their terms. Your business can work the same way.
In this episode, I take apart the most logical trap I see expert-led businesses fall into: "I only need one or two clients, so why do all this marketing?" Whether you're a consultant, a professional services firm, or a solo expert, my answer is the same. Your content, LinkedIn, and email list were never meant to land the next client. They're there to build a waitlist. More demand than you can supply. That's what protects your pricing, weathers any downturn, and puts you in control of who you work with and what you charge.
I'll explain why a single client is a fragile foundation, how excess demand lets you walk away from bad-fit work without flinching, why even 0.1% of your niche would overwhelm you, and what the "infrastructure" behind a waitlist actually is. It's simpler and far less icky than funnels and chasing virality.
If lead generation feels like banging your head against a wall, this is the shift that turns you into the Rolex of your niche: the one people wait for.

Discover a focused system to add $10,000/month from LinkedIn without a huge audience or endless activity. Learn how 30 minutes a day, the right high-ticket offer, and the right setup can create a steady pipeline of clients.
Episode highlights: build a single $5K offer, pre-sell it through your profile and content, and use a simple pipeline (Leads → Appointments → Proposals → Deals).
Plus five proven lead channels—demand-creation content, email/newsletter, relationship-led selling, hyper-targeted outreach, and live webinars—and how to pick one to master.
People have been telling me the same thing. Summer's coming, projects are coming to an end, new ones aren't starting until September, and they've got a gap to fill.
In this episode, I'm sharing five simple ways to drum up business right now without cold calling, paid ads or spending hours and hours on marketing.
These are practical strategies you can put into action straight away using your computer, the internet and your social channels.
If you've got a quiet patch coming, or it's already here, this episode will show you some of the quickest levers you can pull to create more conversations, more opportunities and more business.
In this episode, discover why repeating a simple, emotionally resonant message is essential to getting noticed and winning clients. Learn how the mere exposure effect, low cognitive load, and owning a memorable slogan—like successful political campaigns and famous brands—help build familiarity and trust so prospects are more likely to choose you.
Use consistent repetition, reduce complexity, and decide now what key idea you want to be known for to create a powerful, repeatable brand message.
What if the key to everything you want in your business (higher prices, better clients, a constant waitlist, and effortless lead generation) is actually much simpler than you think?
In this episode, I break down the exact "Category of One" architecture that takes you out of the crowded, price-competing marketplace and positions you as a world class specialist. If you have been feeling the frustration of shouting into the social media void or trying to split yourself between three different business ideas, this is your exit ramp from that permanent state of limbo.
By the end of this episode, you will discover:
Stop playing a broad, exhausting game that yields zero impact. Tune in to learn how to dial in your focus, build massive trust before clients ever jump on a call, and build a business that works for you.
Most people know they should post more content, share more opinions and put themselves out there more online, but they stop themselves because they are worried about what other people might think.
In this episode, I recorded a podcast publicly on Miami Beach because I wanted to challenge that fear in myself too. It felt awkward. It felt uncomfortable. But it reminded me how often we let random people influence our behaviour, even when those people will never affect our life or business.
I talk about:
If you keep second-guessing yourself before posting, recording videos or sharing your ideas online, this episode will help you understand why.
I believe experts and service businesses grow faster when they focus on building deep trust with a smaller number of the right people.
In this episode, I break down how high-value, low-volume businesses create stronger demand, attract better-fit clients, and build more sustainable growth online.
We also explore:
• Why a smaller audience can create bigger business results
• How focused positioning makes you easier to trust and remember
• Why reputation compounds faster than attention
• How experts build demand differently from creators
• Why solving one valuable problem changes everything
If you want to build a business around expertise, authority, and real client demand, this episode will help you think differently about growth online.
I spent years stuck in feast and famine. One good month gave me hope. The next month wiped it out. Everything depended on me chasing business, closing quickly, and solving short term pressure.
Then I realised the problem. I had not built the infrastructure that created consistent demand.
In this episode, I break down the exact social selling system I used to become known for one specific problem, attract inbound leads, and get clients lining up to work with me. I walk through the five parts that changed everything for me: expert positioning, pre-selling presence, demand creating content, intent bridges, and conversion systems.
I explain how I used my content and online presence to build trust before calls happened, how I turned attention into buying intent, and how I built a repeatable system that consistently converts qualified leads into clients.
If you want more inbound leads, stronger positioning, and a business that attracts the right clients consistently, this episode will help you rethink how social selling actually works.

Listen if you want growth on your terms, with the clients you actually want to work with.
I made a $1.3 million marketing mistake and it cost me $68,000 in losses before I worked out what had gone wrong. In this episode I share exactly how it happened, what I did to fix it, and the lesson every business owner needs to hear.
I switched off the LinkedIn Lives and webinars I was running every week because the data made them look unprofitable. A few months later I was looking at a $50,000 loss one month, an $18,000 loss the next, and wondering if my business was over. When I went back through the numbers properly, I discovered 70% of my new clients had come from those events, and most had registered for at least two before buying. Each one had been worth $27,000 to my business.
I walk you through how I tracked the real source of every sale, why my CRM was telling me the wrong story, and the 30 day lag that catches most business owners out. I share my always be marketing principle, the bucket theory of pipeline, and why social selling builds value long after the activity itself.
If you run a business, lead a sales team, or rely on social selling to fill pipeline, this one is for you.

If you're winning referrals but losing organic leads, the sales call is where the deal is going wrong.
Most business owners run the same call for both. Referrals already trust you, so the call is easy. Organic leads turn up curious, and you have to show the value on the call itself. Most business owners don't know how to do that. They describe and explain their service, when they should be showing the prospect what their life looks like once the problem is solved.
Listen to this episode and you'll know:
If you've ever come off a call sure they were going to buy, then watched them ghost you, this episode tells you what went wrong and how to fix it.
In 14 years of coaching over 500 clients, I’ve seen one foundational mistake stall more businesses than any bad tactic: the "Upstream" message failure. Many people dive into social selling thinking they need a secret strategy, but they’re missing the core hook that actually makes a prospect stop scrolling.
In this episode, you’ll learn why your current outreach is likely being ignored and how to fix your "Upstream" message so your relevance is immediate. I’m breaking down the four-second value prop—the skill of communicating what’s in it for your client in just 12 words. You will discover why selling the "process" or being "cryptic" is costing you leads, and why narrowing your focus to one specific problem is the only way to cut through the noise.
If you want to stop being ignored on LinkedIn and start turning profile views into actual conversations, you need to master this principle. Learn how to nail the message that makes every other social selling tactic you use more effective.
I reveal how my podcast makes me $8,000 a month without sponsorships, brand deals, or on-air product pitches. I explain why I almost did not start it, the freelancer who pushed me to do it, and what three years of consistent publishing has taught me about building trust at scale.
You will learn:
If you want to build a long-term asset that fills your pipeline and wins clients, start here.
My first business failed because I never decided who I was selling to. I tried different offers, different tactics, different marketing. None of it worked.
I ran out of clients, ran out of money and moved back in with my parents.
When I built my second business around one specific customer, Christian organisations needing print, I sold it.
When I applied the same thinking to Maverrik, I scaled it to $2 million.
In this episode I walk you through:
If your marketing isn't working, it usually traces back to this one thing.
This episode shows you how to sort it out.
Everyone is telling you AI will transform your business.
95% of AI projects deliver no value. The outreach it generates is spotted a mile away. And the tools you're paying for are losing money just to keep you subscribed.
In this episode I give you my honest take on AI after testing tools, watching the hype, and deciding where I'm actually placing my bets.
You'll hear:
This is not an anti-AI rant. I use it every day.
But if you're making business decisions based on what you see in the feed, you need to hear this first.
I published a book in 2024 with Wiley. It got into Waterstones and Barnes and Noble.
It didn't become a bestseller.
My book:

Here's what I got wrong, and what you need to know before you create a book, course, or any low-ticket product you're planning to sell.
In this episode I cover:
If you're thinking about writing a book, launching a course, or selling anything at volume, this episode will save you a serious amount of time, money, and frustration.
If your pipeline is empty and you don't know where to start, this episode gives you three things you can do this week to change that.
Most business owners live on referrals until they dry up.
Then they panic.
Set massive outbound targets. Hate every minute of it. Get nothing back. Quit within a fortnight.
Paul Owen knows this pattern well. He was broke at 32. Earning £8k a year doing data entry. £30k in credit card debt. Sleeping on a mate's bedroom floor.
Three years after getting his first sales job, he was debt free and building the business he runs today, training sales teams across the world.
In this episode, Paul shares the three things he tells every business owner who needs to fill their pipeline now.
Why the first step has nothing to do with picking up the phone.
The weekly number that makes outbound feel doable instead of draining.
And why most people never build the one thing that takes someone from "sounds interesting" to "here's my money."
I was crippled by content creation for years.
Staring at blank pages. Searching for something original that nobody had ever said before. It nearly stopped me putting anything out there at all.
Then I cracked it. Three frameworks that give me hundreds of ideas from a handful of topics.
In this episode I'm sharing my APE framework, the TASTE formula, and how I split content into attract, nurture and convert so every post has a purpose. The same system I use with my clients at Salesforce, Microsoft and Citibank.
You'll never stare at a blank page again. Hit play.
Response rates on cold outreach have dropped to 0.02%. Sales teams are sending 70% more messages than ever.
And results are getting worse, not better.
In this episode, I break down why the "more volume" approach to sales outreach has hit a wall, and share what's filling pipeline right now instead.
You'll hear:
If you're a salesperson, sales leader or business owner who feels like outreach is getting harder, this episode explains why and gives you the fix.
Most LinkedIn creators think more followers and more engagement equals more money.
It doesn't.
In this episode I walk through the full maths behind my $1M year on LinkedIn, including my offer stack, the four client paths I run every week, and why I only need 20 clients and 60 meetings to hit my number.
I sat down with Kris Ward who went from working 16 hour days to six, and built a business that runs without her.
She was pulled away from her business for two years to care for her husband during his cancer journey. When she returned, her clients had no idea she'd been gone.
That's when she realised what she'd built was different.
One of her clients quadrupled her income while cutting her hours after her cortisol levels had got so high she needed medication.
Within a year, that same client took a month off in Costa Rica with no WiFi and her VA ran the business without her.
In this episode, you'll learn why your to-do list is draining you even when you're not working.
Why writing instructions for your VA gets you lost and what to do instead.
The hidden problems with VA agencies that nobody tells you about.
Why are you doing 10 dollar tasks when you should be doing 1000 dollar work.
And the simple screen recording method that works better than any 52 page manual.
If you've ever thought it's quicker to just do it myself, this conversation will change how you think about getting help.
Discover why most LinkedIn marketing and B2B sales outreach fails - and how to fix it. In this episode, we break down the #1 mistake consultants, coaches, and B2B professionals make: talking about root causes instead of observable problems their buyers actually see. Learn why expertise can hurt your marketing, how to craft messaging that resonates, why going niche beats staying broad, and the difference between treating symptoms vs. solving problems in your sales approach. We discuss why experts overthink their messaging to death, the vital difference between observable problems and root causes (the "burnout vs. overworked" example that transformed my coaching), and why 22-year-olds with basic knowledge often outmarket 20-year veterans.
In this episode, I sit down with Steve Radford to unpack what selling actually looks like in the real world - especially when you’re early in your sales career, hate cold calling, or feel uncomfortable “being salesy”. Steve has spent years building sales apprenticeships and training teams, and this conversation goes deep into the mindset shifts that make selling feel more human and far more effective.
We talk honestly about why so many people fear contacting prospects, why discovery calls feel overwhelming, and how sales models can sometimes get in the way of genuine conversations. Steve explains why sales isn’t about persuasion or pressure, but about helping people make informed decisions - and how reframing selling this way changes everything from cold outreach to closing deals.
We also explore conversational selling in practice: how to prepare without over-preparing, how to know when you’ve uncovered the real problem (not just the surface one), and why talking too early about your solution is one of the most common mistakes - even for experienced salespeople. Steve shares practical ways to simplify questioning, stay present in conversations, and build trust without trying to “perform”.
Beyond technique, we get into how AI is reshaping sales roles, why bad SDRs are at risk, and what actually makes a salesperson valuable in a world full of automation. We finish by discussing why sales is becoming more complex - not less - and why human judgement, curiosity, and empathy are the skills that will future-proof your career.
If you’re in sales, running a business, or simply trying to get more comfortable selling yourself and your ideas, this episode will change how you think about selling.
In this episode, I sit down with James to talk about the realities of running a small business when margins are tight and costs keep creeping up. If you’re a business owner or solopreneur, this conversation is all about protecting your profitability without feeling like you’re constantly firefighting.
We dig into where profits are often lost without anyone really noticing — things like insurance, mobile contracts, waste, subscriptions, and supplier price increases that start to feel “normal” in an inflationary market. James explains why many of us have become numb to rising costs, and why that mindset can seriously damage the bottom line. One of the key points we explore is that just because prices are going up everywhere, it doesn’t mean you should stop challenging them.
We also talk about why the businesses that save the most money aren’t usually the ones in trouble. They’re the calm, well-run companies that regularly review their costs and look for small, meaningful improvements before problems appear. James shares how specialist benchmarking and expert insight can quickly show whether you’re paying a fair price or overpaying without realising it.
Beyond costs, we get into the mindset shift from employee to business owner — especially the uncomfortable move into sales and putting yourself out there. I share my own experience with LinkedIn, webinars, and content, and how focusing on being genuinely useful, rather than salesy, changed everything. We wrap up with an honest discussion about AI, what it can realistically help with today, and why human judgement still matters more than ever.
I’ve always said that increased competition is basically a tax you pay for not being unique enough. If you feel like you’re constantly shouting into a void or defending your prices to people who don't "get" your value, it’s time to stop playing the mass-market game.
In this episode, I’m sharing my framework for building a Micro-Monopoly. This isn’t about being the next Amazon; it’s about becoming a "Category of One" in your own corner of the market. I’m breaking down why the "bigger is better" mindset is a trap that kills margins, and how shrinking your target audience can actually be the fastest way to grow your revenue.
What I’m diving into today:
If you’re a coach, consultant, or small business owner tired of being treated like a commodity, this episode is your roadmap to standing alone and charging what you're worth.
How do you grow an online coaching business when referrals run out?
In this video, Dean explains how to grow an online coaching business from scratch using clear, practical steps. No funnels, no ads, no hype.
You will learn:
This video is for coaches who want to grow an online coaching business without over-complicated marketing, paid ads, or pretending to be someone they are not.
If you are asking how to grow an online coaching business sustainably, this video gives you the foundations that actually matter.
We’re in a trust recession.
Buyers aren’t cynical, but they are cautious.
Big promises feel cheap. Engagement can be faked. Testimonials can be bought. Even five-star reviews raise suspicion.
So how do you win clients when people don’t trust what they see anymore?
In this episode, I break down what’s really killing trust online - and what actually rebuilds it in 2025 and beyond. We talk about why confidence no longer converts, why “just book a call” repels the right buyers, and how consistency, relevance, and restraint now matter more than persuasion.
You’ll learn:
If you sell your experience, expertise, or know-how - and you’re tired of competing with people who look louder but aren’t better - this episode will change how you show up.
If referrals keep you afloat but nothing outside referrals converts, there is a single blind-spot creating that pattern.
In this episode, you’ll see where that blind-spot hides in your copy, your positioning and even how you speak about what you do.
It explains why smart buyers don’t enquire, why peers engage more than prospects, and why your process—no matter how strong—never converts.
The odd thing is that referrals disguise this weakness, so you think you have clarity when you don’t.
Once you spot it, you’ll notice how it affects the quality of leads, the price people accept and the confidence buyers have in you.
You’ll see it clearly, but you won’t unsee it.
Tune in and you’ll realise exactly what has been holding you back when you’re not being recommended.
Everyone’s noticing the same thing on LinkedIn right now:
Their posts stall.
Their reach drops.
Their feed shows the same recycled stuff for days.
This isn’t just an algorithm story.
It’s a content story.
In this episode, I break down why some posts now spread and others die, why random topics kill your visibility, and why your visuals matter far more than you think.
You’ll see how LinkedIn is rewarding experts who stay on-topic, use clear visuals, and stick to a simple mix of attract, nurture, and convert posts.
By the end, you’ll know exactly why your content dropped off—and what your posts need to cut through again.
Most experts think no-shows happen because people are flaky.
But that’s not the real reason.
In this episode, I break down what’s actually going on when someone books a call, blocks out time… and still never turns up.
You’ll see why this keeps happening, what it really says about your leads, and the unseen factors that decide whether someone shows up or disappears.
By the end, you’ll look at your calendar in a completely different way.

I’m asked all the time how to make your first 100K on LinkedIn and most people are shocked when I tell them the real reason they’ve been stuck. In this episode, I walk you through a completely different way to think about LinkedIn, why the usual advice keeps you spinning your wheels, and the simple shifts that unlock predictable revenue without living on the platform.
If you’ve been posting endlessly, overthinking the algorithm or feeling like LinkedIn just isn’t clicking for you, this will change how you see everything.
Hit play and let’s get you moving toward that first 100K.
In this episode, I dive into one of the biggest challenges experts face when they leave corporate life: turning all that deep experience into a clear, sellable offer. In a job, your expertise sits neatly inside a role. When you go solo, that structure disappears. Suddenly you’re holding a huge basket of skills with no container. My goal here is to help you build that container so people instantly “get” what you do.
I break everything down to one simple truth: people buy what they want, not what they “should” want. If your offer is built around what you think they need, you’ll always have to work harder. Instead, I show you how to anchor your offer to one specific problem your market is already motivated to solve and one outcome they actively desire.
From there, we shape your expertise into a sellable package using four parts:
Those milestones matter because they give buyers confidence. They can see how your steps translate into real progress, rather than vague promises.
I also talk about how to market and sell this offer without becoming a full-time content creator. You need flow: awareness, trust, and conversion. Social media builds awareness and trust. Systems like newsletters and webinars handle the conversion so you’re not glued to LinkedIn all day.
And finally, we tackle the emotional side – choosing a niche. It can feel limiting, almost like you’re shrinking your potential. But in reality, focusing on a small slice of the market is what creates stability, profitability, and momentum. Once you own that slice, you can take on the rest.
This episode is all about making your expertise easy to buy so you can spend more time doing what you’re brilliant at.
In this episode, I dig into the 15 practical reasons sales calls fall apart for coaches and experts. If your calls feel messy, you lose control, or you come off a call wondering what went wrong, you’ll hear exactly why it happens.
Most coaches don’t struggle because they lack skill. They struggle because the call slips out of their hands early. The prospect talks too much, the conversation drifts, the value gets lost, and by the time the price comes up, the call is already weak. If you’ve ever had a call where the person said, “Let me think about it,” this will make sense of it.
Here are the 15 issues I cover:
I show how these mistakes create confusion, weaken trust, and make the prospect drift instead of deciding. If you want calls that feel cleaner, clearer, and more controlled, this episode gives you the pressure points you need to fix.
Most coaches never get enough clients. In this podcast, I explain the four core reasons why coaches struggle to grow their business, stay stuck relying on referrals, and often end up going back into corporate.
You will learn:
• Why lack of clarity on the problem you solve stops clients choosing you
• Why trying to serve “everyone” kills demand
• Why your message feels vague and gets ignored
• Why missing systems for leads, trust and sales keeps you in feast-and-famine
If you want a coaching business that is predictable and profitable, this breakdown shows you exactly what is going wrong and how to fix it.

Is AI about to wipe out whole sales roles… or is it the biggest career opportunity in decades? In this unfiltered part-two conversation with Christine Norton, GTM at Global Big 4.
We dive into how the sales game has radically shifted since we last spoke — from the death (or evolution) of the SDR, to the rise of ‘Agents as a Service,’ to why your forecast meetings might disappear overnight.
We explore how AI is creating fiercer competition, forcing sellers to think like consultants, and making deep discovery and big-picture thinking more valuable than ever.
Plus, the one skill every salesperson must master now to stay relevant in a world where buyers are more informed, more impatient, and less tolerant of fluff than ever before.
In this episode, I break down exactly what's changed with the LinkedIn algorithm in 2025, why so many of us have seen a sudden drop in views, and what you need to do to stay relevant and effective on the platform.
I’ll share:
This update is a big shift, but it's not all bad news. In fact, I believe this is a huge opportunity—especially if you’re a coach, consultant, or B2B service provider. If you focus on building a targeted audience, sharing evergreen content, and creating real engagement, LinkedIn can still be your best client-generating platform.
If you're feeling frustrated or confused about what’s working now, this episode will help you cut through the noise and make LinkedIn work for you again.
You’ve got the skills. The offer’s solid. You’re posting like a content machine. So… why does it feel like you're shouting into the void while others—less experienced, less ethical, less you—have people lining up to work with them?
In this episode, Dean lifts the lid on the real reason your inbox isn’t flooded with inbound leads. It’s not your pricing. It’s not the algorithm. It’s not that you need another bloody lead magnet.
It’s your positioning. Your message. And—most importantly—the gap you haven’t exposed between what your audience wants… and what they’re settling for.
You’ll learn:
This isn’t another “be consistent and show value” fluff-fest. It’s a direct line to what actually creates desire and makes people chase you, not the other way round.
If you’re tired of being overlooked by people you know you could help, this one’s going to sting in the best way.
Hit play. Get uncomfortable. And then get in demand.
Are you pouring hours into social media and seeing zero real money back?
I get it, because so many people are falling for the biggest scam on LinkedIn and social media: this idea that just creating "content" is going to make you rich.
I'm going to show you exactly why 95% of content creators are struggling, and then reveal how of business owners are actually crushing it by using what I call the "demand creator" model.
Stop wasting your time chasing likes, and let me give you the proven strategy to turn even a small, targeted audience into high-paying clients.

Ever hit that terrifying moment when your sales pipeline suddenly runs dry?
You know the one — you start the year full of hope and clients, but come mid-year, everything slows to a frustrating crawl. Dead silence. No leads. No sales. It feels like the business is on the brink of collapse, and panic starts to set in.
But here’s the hard truth most people won’t tell you: It’s not just the economy or “seasonal slowdowns” causing this. More often than not, it’s complacency. Between January and July, distractions take over, you lose focus, and before you know it, you’ve got a gap that feels impossible to fill.
In this episode, Dean pulls no punches on why this happens — and why the “status quo” is your worst enemy. He shares real-world lessons from his own experience and reveals why doubling down harder during a slowdown isn’t always the answer. Instead, you need a system — a reliable, predictable pipeline that works even when clients go on holiday or the algorithm changes.
You’ll learn:
If you’re tired of pipeline panic and want a real solution that works no matter the market, this episode is for you. Listen now and take control before your next slow season hits.

A few summers ago, I was 10 days from payroll and £13K short. No fluff, no runway, just panic. In this episode, I share exactly how I closed that gap in 7 days using a simple one-page Google Doc, two LinkedIn posts, and a couple of DMs.
I break down the 7-day client system I created from that pressure cooker moment, something that’s now helped over 170 people generate fast revenue without ads, funnels, or a fancy website.
You’ll hear:
If you need clients now - or just wants a lean, effective system that works - you’ll get everything you need right here.

One of our TikTok videos got 9,648 views.
The account was brand new.
It only had 32 followers.
And we knew exactly what would make it take off.
In this episode, we walk through what we did and why it worked. It has nothing to do with trending sounds, dancing, or posting every day. It’s something almost no one talks about. And it starts before you even hit upload.
We also explain how the platforms really work now. Why follower count matters less than ever. Why some of your videos flop while others randomly fly. And what most people miss when they try to grow an audience.
This is not about going viral. It’s about getting your content seen by the right people with as little effort as possible.
You’ll learn:
Most people are guessing. We tested this. And the results speak for themselves.
If your content isn’t getting traction, this will show you why. More importantly, it will show you what to do differently.
And the tweak that started it all?
You’ve probably ignored it a hundred times.
You're putting in the hours. You’re active online. You’re trying every tip, tool and strategy that promises results. But your income still isn’t showing it.
In this episode, we break down why so many business owners feel like they’re doing everything right but still not getting paid. The problem isn’t your work ethic. It’s what you’re focusing on. Chasing leads, switching strategies, launching new offers every few weeks might feel productive, but it’s usually just panic disguised as progress.
We talk about why building systems feels boring but is essential, how broad messaging kills trust, and why most people avoid the real work that leads to consistent results. We also get into the mindset traps that keep people stuck, from needing guarantees before taking action to constantly reacting instead of building with intention.
If you’re working hard but still not earning what you should, this episode will help you spot what’s really going on. It’s not about working more. It’s about finally doing the right things, repeatedly, even when it’s not exciting.
This is the gap between being busy and being profitable. And we’re calling it out.

LinkedIn in 2020 rewarded almost anything. A quote, a blog link, a quick thought from your day. If you showed up regularly, it worked.
In 2025, that approach falls flat. The platform is more crowded, the algorithm is pickier, and the audience is more selective. What used to get reach now gets ignored. What used to convert now gets scrolled past.
In this episode, I explain exactly how LinkedIn has evolved over the past five years. I compare what worked then with what works now. You’ll hear how content reach has shifted, why lead generation requires a clearer message, and why most outreach goes unnoticed. I also explain why follower counts matter less than people think and what that means for how you build trust and visibility.
This is not a motivational pep talk. It is a practical breakdown of how to use the platform properly in its current form. If you want to stop guessing and start getting results again, this will give you the clarity you need to adapt.
LinkedIn still works. Just not the way it used to.
From Burnout to Booked: How Aaron Rebuilt His Career (and Client List) on LinkedIn
What do you do when the thing you’re good at is slowly draining the life out of you?
Aaron Bart had the title, the team, the 60-hour weeks, and the kind of agency leadership role people chase for years. But behind the scenes? Burnout. Resentment. And a creeping sense that this wasn’t it anymore.
In this episode, we dig into the shift—from running creative teams in high-stakes US agencies to building a coaching business from scratch using LinkedIn. No ads. No hacks. Just honest content, real conversations, and the clarity to know what he actually wanted to be known for.
We talk:
If you’re sitting in a job that doesn’t fit, building something on LinkedIn that’s not clicking, or just wondering what the hell you’re doing next—this chat will hit home.
No fluff. No “manifest your dream life” energy. Just honest lessons from someone who’s actually done the hard pivot—and made it work.
You don’t need a new job title. You need a clearer direction.
And maybe, a bit of help finding your voice again.
Tune in.

Selling shouldn’t feel like guesswork.
But for most solopreneurs, it still does.
In this episode, I’m joined by sales pro Paul Owen to unpack why even the smartest founders stall when it comes to closing - and how to finally fix it.
You’ll learn:
If you're great at what you do but tired of the feast-or-famine cycle, this episode gives you the tools to change that - without adding more hustle or hype.
Listen now, and get the confidence and system you need to turn interest into income.
Most founders believe that if they just follow the plan, success will come.
But Elizabeth Gooch - who built a global tech company from her bedroom with £1 - says that’s rubbish.
In this episode, she tears apart the fantasy that growth is just about working harder or sticking to a five-year roadmap. Business isn’t predictable, and those who cling to their plans instead of adapting are the ones who get stuck. She talks about the real reason most businesses plateau, why most leaders are winging it, and how to stop wasting time on strategies that don’t translate to results.
Elizabeth also gets into the tough moments - the times her company was on the brink, the brutal lessons in leadership, and the realities of selling a business under pressure.
She doesn’t sugar-coat the challenges, but she does have a clear message: if you’re serious about growth, you need to rethink everything you assume about how businesses scale.
This is a conversation for people who want the truth, not recycled advice. If you’re running a business and feel like you’re pushing against a wall, you need to hear this.
For years, people have obsessed over follower counts, thinking that more equals better. But the way social media works has completely changed. Platforms don’t care how many people follow you anymore - they care about what holds attention. And that’s good news if you know how to use it.
In this episode, I break down why followers are no longer the key to visibility and what actually moves the needle now. If you’ve been trying to grow your audience but feel like you’re shouting into the void, this will explain why -and what to do instead.
We’ll cover:
The shift is already happening, and those who understand it will have a huge advantage. If you’re still playing the old game, you’re wasting time. Listen in and start using social media in a way that actually works.
Most people start a business for freedom. Then reality slaps them in the face.
In this raw and unfiltered episode, I sit down with Lee-Ann Johnstone, founder of Affiverse, to talk about what it really takes to grow a business from scratch - beyond the hype and Instagram fantasy.
We cover:
🔥 The messy middle - what happens when the excitement fades and reality sets in.
🔥 Why most new business owners set themselves up for failure (and how to avoid it).
🔥 The two biggest mistakes that kill momentum and keep you stuck in survival mode.
🔥 Why niching down feels terrifying but is the only way to grow.
🔥 The shift happening in marketing that most people haven’t woken up to yet.
And - spoiler alert - building a business isn’t about working less. It’s about working smarter.
If you're serious about making it work (without losing your sanity), this one’s for you.
you’ve probably felt the pain of the feast-and-famine cycle.
One month you’re slammed, the next you’re scrambling, panicking about where your next client is coming from. I’ve been there, and trust me - it’s brutal.
Years ago, I found myself needing £13k in a single week or my business was finished.
Bank account empty. Bills stacking up. Panic setting in.
I was out of options.
In that moment, I realised most of what I’d been taught about marketing was too vague, too slow, and too complicated for a crisis.
In this deeply personal episode, I’m sharing exactly how I turned desperation into action.
You’ll learn how I created an irresistible, crystal-clear offer, priced it boldly, and aggressively marketed it to go from broke to fully booked in just days.
I’ll also show you how to permanently break free from the feast-and-famine cycle - by simplifying your offer, clarifying your message, and building systems that reliably bring clients your way, month after month.
If you’re ready to hear what really works (and stop repeating my mistakes), hit play.
You know your stuff.
You’ve got the experience, the results, the credibility—but online, it’s like no one sees it.
Meanwhile, people with half your expertise are getting all the attention, landing the clients, and owning the conversation.
Frustrating, right?
You’re careful with your words because you don’t want to sound arrogant.
You try to share value, but it gets lost in the noise. And every time you see someone less qualified blowing up online, you wonder - what are they doing that I’m not?
In this episode, I’ll show you exactly why this happens - and how to flip the script. Small shifts in how you communicate can take you from overlooked to undeniable.

For years, I played it safe. I posted “valuable” content. I tried to sound professional. I thought if I just shared good advice, people would listen.
They didn’t.
No engagement. No clients. No one cared.
And then I realised something brutal: boring is worse than being hated.
Agitation:
I see so many people making the same mistake I did—hiding their personality, watering down their opinions, trying to appeal to everyone. And then wondering why their content flops.
I know how it feels. You pour time into a post, hit publish… and nothing. Meanwhile, people with half your experience are blowing up, getting clients, building a brand that actually matters.
It’s not because they’re better. It’s because they refuse to be forgettable.
Solution:
The second I stopped trying to fit in and started owning my voice, everything changed. And in this episode, I’m sharing exactly what I did.
🔥 The biggest myth that’s keeping you invisible.
🔥 The lie about “professionalism” that’s killing your content.
🔥 The mindset shift that will make your audience actually pay attention.
If you’re tired of shouting into the void, this is your wake-up call.
Listen now. Because the longer you wait, the harder it gets.
AI is creeping into every industry—now it’s coming for coaching.
With AI-powered apps offering sessions for less than the price of a coffee, some coaches are already feeling the heat.
But here’s the real question… Is AI a threat or the biggest opportunity the coaching industry has ever seen?
In this episode, I break down:
This isn’t about fear—it’s about strategy.
If you’re a coach (or thinking of becoming one), you need to hear this.
Listen now and get ahead of the AI curve.

In this episode, I’m sharing the exact framework I use to run sales calls that feel less like a pitch and more like a productive chat.

I’ll also dive into why explaining less and listening more can completely change the way you approach your calls - and how to present your offer in a way that truly resonates.

Tune in to make your next sales call your best one yet.
Most small businesses and solopreneurs struggle with marketing.
They waste time copying big brands, following flashy trends, and spreading themselves too thin.
The result? Burnout, frustration, and little to show for all that effort. Instead of attracting clients, they’re stuck chasing likes and impressions that don’t convert.
Imagine pouring hours into LinkedIn, TikTok, or email campaigns, only to see crickets.
The competition is fierce, and everyone seems to have a bigger budget, larger teams, and slicker strategies.
It feels impossible to stand out. You’re not Coca-Cola or Nike - you’re a small business owner with limited time, budget, and resources.
Trying to play the same game as the big players is a guaranteed way to lose.
What if you stopped competing on their terms and started playing to your strengths?
The secret isn’t about going bigger - it’s about thinking like an underdog.
Underdogs know how to be scrappy, focused, and strategic.
They don’t waste time mimicking the giants; they carve their own path.
With the right framework, you can simplify your marketing, build a loyal audience, and win clients consistently.
In this episode, we break down four essential steps to reduce the friction between you and your ideal clients.
You’ll learn how to create a clear offer, target the right audience, craft magnetic messaging, and build a time-saving system.
This isn’t about working harder - it’s about working smarter, so your efforts actually pay off.
Ready to ditch the big-brand playbook and market yourself like an underdog?

Building a business on LinkedIn isn’t easy. It’s frustrating, confusing, and at times, you’ll wonder why it’s working for everyone else but not you.
I’ve spent years going round in circles, trying to figure out what others were doing right while I felt stuck.
But eventually, I learned some tough lessons that saved me a lot of time and hassle, and I’m sharing them with you so you don’t have to make the same mistakes.
If you want to save time, avoid burnout, and build a business that actually works, you need to start making smarter moves.
These seven lessons will help you do exactly that.
When I first started using LinkedIn for business, I was terrified of looking desperate or salesy.
I was going through a really tough business split (some of you know the story), and everything felt up in the air. I needed business, but I didn’t want to come across as that pushy person.
But here’s what I learned: it’s not about being salesy, it’s about being personal and relevant.
I made the mistake of lumping all outreach into one category - the bad, the annoying, and the irrelevant.
But I realised, after a lot of time wasted, that it’s not about the outreach - it’s about how you do it. When you research someone, understand what they do, and craft a personal message, people appreciate it. Once I understood this, I started getting better responses.
So, don’t be afraid to reach out. Just be targeted. If you do it right, it’s a game-changer.
If you want to get clients, stop hiding behind your fear of looking desperate.
Take the time to research and reach out in a personal way, and watch the doors open.
I spent a long time thinking that if I could just get more followers, I’d start getting more clients.
But the truth is, that doesn’t work. Sure, having a large following looks nice, but what does it matter if most of those followers aren’t interested in what you do?
I’ve seen influencers with massive followings struggle because their audience just isn’t the right fit.
More followers won’t fix a strategy problem. Focus on getting the right followers.
I’d rather have 500 followers who are perfect for what I offer than 50,000 who are just there for motivational quotes.
It’s not about numbers - it’s about quality.
Stop wasting time trying to reach as many people as possible. Focus on the people who are actually interested in what you offer, and you’ll start getting the results you want.
At first, I thought I was clear about what I was offering.
But when I looked at my profile and content through the eyes of a potential client, I realised I wasn’t being clear at all. I was trying to appeal to everyone - business owners, marketers, sales teams. The problem was, each group had different needs and perspectives.
I learned that to really speak to someone, I had to be specific about who I was talking to.
So, I started tailoring my messages for specific groups.
The result?
A massive improvement in engagement and responses.
If you want to attract clients, you need to make it clear what you do and who you do it for.
The more specific you are, the more you’ll stand out and attract the right people.
Likes, comments, shares - they all feel good.
But I’ve learned that they don’t always lead to clients.
I’ve had people with 200,000 followers tell me they’re making no money.
I’ve seen people with huge engagement numbers still end up going back to a regular job because they couldn’t convert the engagement into business.
The real question is: are the right people engaging with you?
If your likes and comments aren’t coming from your ideal clients, they don’t mean much.
Engagement isn’t the goal - it’s a tool.
Focus on getting the right people to engage with your content, and you’ll see more clients in your pipeline.
For a long time, I thought content was the key to everything.
Post enough, and clients will come to you, right?
Well, I learned the hard way that content alone won’t bring in the clients.
Sure, content helps you build your authority, but you need a system to convert that content into leads.
Without a system in place to handle the inbound interest, content is just fluff.
Systems are what bring in the business. The content is just the tool to get you noticed.
If you want predictable results, stop relying solely on content.
Build a system that converts your content into clients, and you’ll see steady growth.
It’s easy to forget that LinkedIn is full of real people with real needs.
When I first started, I focused too much on the numbers and forgot to treat LinkedIn like a room full of people.
The best outreach I’ve ever done is when I’ve focused on the individual, taken the time to understand them, and made the message personal.
People can tell when you’ve done the work to understand them, as opposed to sending a generic message.
If you want to stand out, treat LinkedIn like a room full of people, not a mass of profiles.
When you focus on the individual and engage with them on a personal level, they’ll notice the difference.
To stand out on LinkedIn, stop treating it like a numbers game.
Focus on the people.
Personal outreach leads to more meaningful conversations and better results.
There are a lot of tools, hacks, and trends that promise to make LinkedIn easier.
Believe me, I’ve tried most of them.
But here’s the problem: if you keep chasing the latest shiny object, you’ll never get anywhere.
It’s a cycle.
The real key to success on LinkedIn is building a system you can rely on.
Systems don’t rely on trends - they work consistently over time.
And once you have that system in place, you’ll stop worrying about the latest hack or trend.
You’ll know what works, and you’ll stick to it.
If you want sustainable success, stop chasing trends.
Build a system that works for your business, and you’ll get predictable results without the stress of chasing every new trend.
So, what’s the takeaway here?
LinkedIn success isn’t about hoping for a viral post or trying every new trend.
It’s about having a clear strategy, focusing on the right people, and building systems that consistently work.
If you’re ready to stop wasting time and start building a business that works, reach out to me on LinkedIn.
Send me a message with the word "win," and let’s talk about how we can get your business on the right track.
Focus on systems, not hacks. This is how you build a business that lasts.

In this episode, I’m digging into one of the toughest lessons I’ve learned in business: the high cost of people-pleasing.
It’s something we all think we can avoid – until we’re knee-deep in projects, saying “yes” to every request, and feeling like our work isn’t even ours anymore.
I’ve been there. Burned out.
Frustrated.
Wondering why the business I built for freedom started to feel like a trap.
In this conversation, I get brutally honest about how people-pleasing sneaks in and, before you know it, robs you of your energy, your time, and, frankly, your confidence. I'll take you through the moments I said “yes” when I knew I should have said “no” – and the exact cost of those decisions.
But this episode isn’t just my horror stories.
I’m sharing what I’ve learned about setting boundaries, the importance of clarity, and why respecting your own expertise is the only way to build something sustainable. Because here’s the thing: clients don’t hire you just to make them happy; they want results – and that only comes when you have the courage to stand firm.
This episode is for you if you’ve ever felt:
If you’re ready to protect your time, reclaim your work, and create something that works for you, don’t miss this episode.
It’s about delivering real value, on your terms, and building a business that truly serves you – without sacrificing your sanity.

I sit down with Tom Thompson, the guy who’s been working with me behind the scenes on my socials and content at MAVERRIK.
We're recording this chat from a motel in Atlanta, and I’ve finally managed to convince him to join me on the podcast.
We’re talking all things TikTok – our six-month journey of trying to crack the platform and the rollercoaster ride that comes with it.
We dive into the ups and downs of content creation, why some of our TikTok's took off while others totally flopped, and how we’ve been experimenting with trends.
You’ll hear about the spontaneous videos we threw together that ended up outperforming the ones we actually planned out.
And, of course, we get into the quirks of TikTok’s algorithm – the mystery of why certain posts skyrocket while others fall flat.
It’s not just about strategy, though.
We talk about the emotional side of creating content, dealing with negativity, and the fine balance between standing out and staying authentic.
If you've ever wondered how to keep your sanity while trying to grow on TikTok, this episode will give you a behind-the-scenes look at how we’ve navigated it all.
Whether you're already on TikTok or just thinking about giving it a go, you’ll get some practical tips and a few laughs along the way.
Tune in to find out how we’ve been using trends to our advantage – and why, sometimes, you just have to keep going and let the numbers speak for themselves.

In this episode, we’re diving into something that can transform your business – the power of being yourself online.
Too many people are afraid to stand out. They try to please everyone, and in doing so, they end up blending in.
Here’s the reality: people buy from people. But they won’t buy from you if they don’t believe in you. And they won’t believe in you if they can’t see the real you.
Let’s take an extreme example – Donald Trump. Like him or not, his supporters back him because they feel he’s being real. He’s built a fanbase by being bold and unapologetically himself.
Now, I’m not suggesting you turn into Trump, but the principle holds - if you want die-hard supporters, you need to be bold. Be real. Be YOU.
And guess what? You don’t need thousands of fans. In fact, you probably only need about 100 true supporters to build a thriving business.
This episode will challenge you to stop playing it safe. Stop being vanilla. Start owning your personality, your opinions, and the way you do things.
When you do this, you’ll start attracting your tribe. People who believe in you, trust you, and buy from you.
If you’ve been afraid of being too much, of scaring people off, you’re holding yourself back. The truth is, people will love you more for being yourself.
So, are you ready to step up? Tune in and discover why being real is your best marketing strategy.
This episode will change the way you think about personal branding and show you how to stand out.

Many people struggle with low engagement on LinkedIn. They’re pouring time into thoughtful, well-constructed content, only to see minimal interaction or impressions. It’s frustrating, especially when they see others posting casual, less polished content that seems to get traction.
The typical advice of "just add more value" doesn’t cut it – there’s a missing piece that most aren’t aware of, something crucial about how LinkedIn actually works.
You know the feeling: you spend time crafting insightful posts, sharing knowledge, offering value – and yet, you’re lucky if a few people even give it a like.
Meanwhile, someone else’s blurry selfie or simple update blows up with likes and comments. It’s maddening. You’ve tried being consistent, adjusting your messaging, maybe even jumped on the AI trend.
Still, it’s as if your content is invisible. You wonder what you’re doing wrong, and why LinkedIn’s algorithm seems to be working against you.
It’s time to stop tweaking your content randomly.
The solution lies in understanding the mechanics behind visibility on LinkedIn – and it has nothing to do with being more valuable. The secret is mastering how long you can keep people engaged.
I use a simple but effective 25-second principle that can dramatically increase your reach.
This isn't about writing longer posts or forcing engagement – it’s about understanding how the platform measures attention. Once you apply this, you'll see the difference, and your content will finally get the visibility it deserves. Tune in to learn how you can start applying this today without overhauling your entire strategy.
Are you a solopreneur who’s feeling paralysed by indecision, constantly second-guessing every move in your business? You’ve got the expertise and the drive, but when it comes to making bold moves—whether it’s marketing yourself, pitching to clients, or scaling your income - you’re stuck in analysis paralysis.
In this episode of Mindset, Marketing, & Money, we’re digging into why overthinking is holding you back from the freedom and success you’re striving for. We’ll talk about the fear that keeps you hesitating—the fear of making the wrong decision or not being enough - and how that mindset is sabotaging your progress.
I’ll share why jumping from one marketing tactic to another, relying on content that’s safe, or waiting for perfect answers from others won’t get you anywhere. Instead, you’ll discover how imperfect action is the key to unlocking your growth, whether that’s through more confident outreach or taking ownership of your brand strategy.
This episode is packed with actionable strategies, from setting deadlines that force you to decide to narrowing your options so you can make faster, smarter moves in your business. Most importantly, we’ll dive into how shifting your mindset from cautious to unstoppable can help you get consistent leads, land premium clients, and build the business you truly want - without the overwhelm.
If you’re ready to move from stuck to unstoppable, this episode is for you. It’s time to take bold action and finally see the results you’ve been waiting for.

I'm thrilled to bring you this episode, where we cut through all the noise and get real about what personal branding truly means in 2024. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or just dipping your toes into the world of personal branding, this episode is packed with insights, truths, and practical advice that will transform how you think about your personal brand.
We’ve all seen it: the endless diagrams, the celebrity-like projections, and the constant pressure to put on a show. But let’s face it, personal branding has become a bit of a circus. People are tying themselves in knots trying to figure out what it means and how to make it work for them. That's why I’m here to demystify personal branding and give you the tools to create a brand that is genuinely you.
In this episode, we dive into the essence of personal branding. It’s not about pretending to be someone you’re not or chasing likes and follows. It’s about creating a character that reflects your true self—your expertise, your stories, and your unique perspective on the world. Think of it as crafting your very own Indiana Jones character, complete with your quirks, values, and backstory. You don’t need to reveal everything, just enough to connect with people and build trust.
Trust, my friends, is the currency of the future. In an era where everything is fakeable—followers, reviews, even success—building genuine trust through your personal brand is more critical than ever. It’s about being consistently present and authentic so people know who you are and what you stand for when they need your expertise.
We also explore the idea of typecasting yourself in your industry. Just like Liam Neeson found his niche with action-packed roles, you can find your sweet spot by focusing on solving one key problem for your audience. This doesn’t mean limiting yourself but rather creating a strong, memorable brand that people immediately associate with a particular need or expertise.
Building a personal brand isn’t about overnight success. It’s a journey, a compounding process that grows and evolves over time. I’ll share how you can document your progress, celebrate your milestones, and keep pushing forward even when it feels like you’re not making much headway. Remember, personal branding is about the long game.
Throughout this episode, we’ll discuss how to balance authenticity with professionalism, how to project the right image without losing yourself in the process, and how to stay consistent in a world where attention spans are shorter than ever.
So, if you’re ready to step up your personal branding game and create a brand that’s not just seen but truly felt, hit that play button. Let’s embark on this adventure together and unlock the power of personal branding.
And hey, if you find value in this episode, please subscribe, leave a comment, and share it with others who might benefit from a fresh take on personal branding.

In this episode, I reflect on a transformative trip to the US, where stepping away from my daily routine allowed me to see things from a fresh perspective. I hope that by sharing my experiences, you too can find inspiration and seize the unexpected opportunities that lie around you.
Let’s set the stage. About ten days ago, there was a global IT glitch that disrupted planes, hotels, trains, and major businesses. This chaos was triggered by an error from the cybersecurity company Crowdstrike. I was at the airport during the meltdown, capturing the growing queues and posting the footage on TikTok and Twitter. Within hours, my videos went viral, garnering around 200,000 views on TikTok and 80,000 on Twitter. Suddenly, I was in high demand for TV interviews, reporting live for ITV, BBC, and Sky News. This frenzy showed me how hungry people are for real-time updates during global events.
From this unexpected burst of online fame, a company even wanted to buy the rights to my footage. It was a surreal experience, and as I jetted off to the US for a series of workshops, I couldn’t help but reflect on the vast sea of opportunities surrounding us daily. Often, we let the doom and gloom of news and social media convince us that opportunities are scarce, but in reality, they are abundant.
As a business owner, you might feel overwhelmed by the notion that there’s a lack of opportunities due to economic challenges. However, the truth is, there are countless opportunities at our fingertips. The key is to recognize and seize them. For instance, I've had scenarios where seemingly insignificant meetings turned into life-changing deals. One coffee meeting, which I almost skipped due to skepticism and past disappointments, led to a project pitch and eventually the biggest deal of my career. This experience taught me that opportunities don’t always come neatly packaged.
I've been active on social media for nearly 20 years, posting across various platforms. Recently, someone reached out to me for a meeting after seeing my Twitter posts. Initially, I was hesitant due to the long drive and my past encounters with time-wasters. However, I took the plunge, and although the initial meeting seemed fruitless, it eventually led to a significant project pitch. This was a stark reminder that we must remain open to possibilities, even if they don’t immediately seem promising.
One major takeaway from my travels and experiences is the importance of building relationships and personal branding. Being visible and nurturing connections can unlock opportunities that no business plan can predict. Often, we miss these chances because we are too focused on our to-do lists and productivity.
For instance, filming a TikTok video at the airport led to my footage being featured on major news outlets. This wasn’t planned or expected, but being in the right place at the right time and sharing my experience created a significant opportunity. It’s crucial to be present and aware, allowing room for these unplanned moments.
In summary, as solopreneurs or small business owners, it’s essential to invest time in building relationships and your personal brand. While not every interaction will lead to immediate success, these efforts create a foundation for significant opportunities down the line. Reflect on your approach: are you allowing space for relationship-building and personal branding, or are you too consumed by daily tasks? The unexpected opportunities are often disguised as time-wasters. By staying open and proactive, you can turn these moments into game-changing opportunities. So, take a step back, build those connections, and stay present in the moment – you never know what incredible opportunity might come your way next.

In this recent podcast episode, I had the pleasure of hosting Greg Coe, an experienced IT professional and LinkedIn coach. We delved into the nuances of optimizing your LinkedIn profile to stand out in today's competitive job market. Greg, with his extensive background in IT and his side gig with Getlinked.Pro, shared invaluable insights on how to leverage LinkedIn for personal branding and career advancement.
One of the key takeaways from our conversation was the importance of a well-crafted LinkedIn profile. Greg emphasized that having a professional headshot, an engaging background photo, and a headline that not only states your current role but also hints at your future ambitions are crucial. These elements are your first impression and can significantly impact a recruiter's decision to delve deeper into your profile.
Greg also highlighted the significance of showcasing your achievements succinctly. Instead of writing long paragraphs, he advised using bullet points to list your accomplishments, starting with quantifiable results. This method captures attention and provides a clear picture of your capabilities and successes. For example, stating "229% of quota in sales" immediately draws attention and indicates your performance level.
We also discussed the value of recommendations. Greg strongly recommends collecting LinkedIn recommendations as social proof of your skills and work ethic. These testimonials can be repurposed in your CV, adding another layer of credibility. He shared a powerful anecdote about how a well-timed recommendation from a mutual connection helped him secure a job, underscoring the impact of this strategy.
In terms of standing out in a crowded market, Greg mentioned the importance of aligning your profile with the keywords and skills relevant to the jobs you're targeting. Recruiters often use LinkedIn like a search engine, filtering profiles based on specific skills. Ensuring these keywords are prominent in your profile can make you easier to find and more attractive to potential employers.
Finally, we touched on the proactive use of LinkedIn. Engaging with content, sharing industry insights, and being an advocate for your current employer can all reflect positively on you. This activity demonstrates your enthusiasm and thought leadership, traits highly valued by hiring managers.
For anyone looking to refine their LinkedIn profile, Greg's advice is gold. Whether you're actively seeking a new job or just looking to advance your career, optimizing your LinkedIn profile can make a significant difference. If you need personalized guidance, Greg is available through his website, getlinked.pro.

This week, I had the opportunity to speak at two events dealing with similar concerns about the use of LinkedIn and social selling. Despite one event catering to large technology businesses and the other to solopreneurs, the problems brought up were oddly similar. Both companies, despite their diverse dynamics, had struggled with leveraging social selling via LinkedIn and were wondering why it simply wasn't working out for them.
From attempting to post engaging content, to outbound messaging, and even attending one of LinkedIn's training sessions, the companies couldn't quite grasp how to effectively use the platform for sales. But having worked extensively on these exact issues, it was a situation I relished. It allowed me to share some crucial insights about why such problems occurs, not just to them, but to many others trying to use LinkedIn for sales.
LinkedIn, a colossal platform with a billion members, is a fundamental spot for salespeople, marketers, and solopreneurs to start their journey. The focus usually hovers over content, an avenue to get oneself known and visible, with an added eagerness to harness high engagement rates. But it is significant to remember that engagement isn't the be-all and end-all of social selling—resonating deeply with potential customers is.
The common mistake that many businesses make with LinkedIn is believing that a higher volume of eyeballs on their content equals more leads. But it is crucial to understand that the key is not in persistent expansion of viewership, but resonating with the target audience. Content alone can't generate sustainable sales; it's shooting out a signal that exactly the right people can pick up, rather than just making more noise that attracts a broader, and consequently more irrelevant, audience.
Instead of trying to cover broader demographics hoping to catch the right people, the secret is more in adjusting your frequency, dialling it into a form that speaks exclusively to your ideal customer. LinkedIn's improved algorithm works towards matching relevant content with users who resonate with it. Streamline your content to serve a specific audience rather than all possible audiences to maintain relevance and resonance. Crafting highly targeted content may mean having fewer impressions, but the majority of these impressions will be absolute gold.
No matter how broad your service or product offering might be, it is always more effective to present a curated, focused network that avoids confusing your audience and the LinkedIn algorithm. The focus is to encapsulate the needs and interests of one specific audience, with a critical understanding that not all content will be relevant for everybody.

It's Dean here, and today I'm talking about how to create LinkedIn posts for engagement. If you've been wondering why your content isn't hitting the mark or why engagement seems like a distant dream, you're in the right place.
I'm unpacking the five critical reasons your LinkedIn posts for engagement might be falling flat and, more importantly, how tiny tweaks can turn things around. First off, let's talk about the elephant in the room: an unfocused network. It's easy to overlook, but who you're connected with on LinkedIn can significantly impact the reach and engagement of your posts.
If your network is a mishmash of past and present industries, it's time for a clean-up. Tailoring your network to reflect your current focus ensures your LinkedIn posts for engagement are seen by the right eyes, making all the difference. Next up, an unfocused message. This is a biggie.
Trying to appeal to everyone often means you resonate with no one. If you want your LinkedIn posts for engagement to cut through the noise, they need to speak directly to your ideal clients. Make it crystal clear who your content is for, and watch as engagement starts to climb. Now, let's tackle content length. In the fast-paced world of LinkedIn, less is often more. Keeping your posts concise and to the point can help hold your audience's attention, boosting those crucial engagement rates.
Remember, overwhelming your audience with too much information can lead to them tuning out, not tuning in. Complexity is another engagement killer. Simple, straightforward content not only performs better but is also more accessible to a wider audience. If you're tackling a big topic, consider breaking it down into a series of posts. This approach keeps your LinkedIn posts for engagement digestible and engaging, encouraging your audience to come back for more. Lastly, the power of discussion cannot be overstated.
Posts that invite opinions and foster conversation naturally generate more engagement. Instead of broadcasting information, try to spark a dialogue. Ask questions, share ideas, and encourage your followers to weigh in. This strategy not only boosts engagement but also builds a sense of community around your content. In conclusion, if your LinkedIn posts for engagement aren't performing as well as you'd hoped, don't despair.
By focusing on these five areas, you can dramatically increase the impact and reach of your content. Remember, LinkedIn is a powerful tool for connecting with potential clients and building your personal brand, but it requires a strategic approach to truly harness its potential.
So, take these tips, apply them to your next posts, and watch as your LinkedIn engagement begins to soar.
Remember the reason why you are doing this.
What's your why?
➡️ It's easy to get distracted and pursue the wrong goals
➡️ It's easy to follow someone else's plan for you life
➡️ It's easy to do things for no reason
Ignore the noise.
Your why is your personal mission.
It's the reason you're doing this.
There is nothing more powerful, persuasive or engaging than someone on a mission of conviction.
Tell the world your why.

Their advice is "post great content and you'll get enquiries"
That's easy to say when your sat on 174k followers and can sit on LinkedIn for 90 minutes mindlessly replying to comments.
The content money machine is a myth.
You need a system to help you build your business, win clients and doesn't hinge on being in favour with an algorithm.
You need a repeatable process that gets you clients, without overwhelm or sales pitching strangers.
You need a system that is consistent and doesn't trash your credibility.
That's why I teach people how to use my Educational Selling Method - a way that 854 coaches, consultants and thought leaders have used to spend more time doing what they love and less time selling.
If you want to sell more on social media, you need to package up your service or product into a compelling offer. Unfortunately, this is one of the hardest things for small business owners and solopreneurs to do.
I walk through some of the common reasons why people fail to sell their services on social media, 90% of the issue is that their offer is the problem.

In this episode of the Podcast, we dive into the world of political campaigns and explore how businesses can learn from them to find their message and accelerate growth.
We all know that political campaigns are all about messaging. Candidates spend countless hours and resources trying to craft the perfect message that will resonate with their target audience. And it's not just about what they say, but how they say it and when they say it.
The key to growing a business is finding your million pound message, a message which resonates with your target audience and projects confidence in your solution.
But what many businesses fail to realise is that the same principles apply to them. Finding the right message for your target market is crucial for accelerating growth. And in today's fast-paced and highly competitive business environment, it's more important than ever to get your message right.
Think about it: if you're not communicating effectively with your target audience, how can you expect them to engage with your product or service? You need to speak their language and address their pain points in order to build trust and establish yourself as a credible solution.

On the pro side, AI can potentially save time and resources by automating the creation of certain types of content, such as simple image posts or short video clips. AI can also be used to analyze user data and identify patterns that can inform the creation of more effective content.
On the con side, there are concerns about the accuracy and reliability of AI-generated content, as well as the potential for it to spread misinformation or perpetuate harmful stereotypes. There is also the issue of job displacement, as the use of AI for content creation could potentially lead to the reduction of human labor in certain fields.
