I am a man in love. Not helplessly, not hopelessly romantic. Just 2 adults planning their future together. Now that I say it to myself, I see how unconventional it sounds. Talking about sounds, after I released my recent episode of beats by beez, someone told me that my voice is not good for rapping. In specific terms

I don’t have a rapping voice.

I didn’t know that “rapping voice” was a thing. Anyways, I have decided to do some experiment around spoken word. I have never done it before, it’s my very first try.

I would like to say a few things about how I feel.

Although, no matter how hard I try to describe it, my emotions just seem to be locked behind a seal.

It is not as if I am shy,

Or don’t want to be free as a bird in the sky

It is just the fact that what I feel in my gut right now,

Can only be described as a complicated beauty, like the 4 stomachs of a cow.

The first time I felt like this

It was the strangest thing to me

Everyday, I take some time to reminisce

To ask myself if this was all love was meant to be

A feeling, an emotion,

A fleeting pleasure that soon gives way for the wars and fighting of human relation

I heard a lot of stories, lots of advice

But nothing had prepared me for this thing that looked like a game of dice

So, I told myself,

Love will not kill a man; it will only make him stronger

But what I didn’t realize was that heartbreak could make a man detest living any longer.

Or was it the fact that he had left his brain behind in the pursuit of love?

Blinded by the fleeting emotions, or just a woman’s curve?

Today, I am wiser

Today, I see things a bit clearer

Today, I know that love should be an event that puts the heart and mind in a blissful concert

Not one lording it over the other like the expert

But a perfect harmony in which 2 mature people play along each other’s strengths to perfect them and each other’s weaknesses to turn them into strengths.

Ok. In the last episode of beats by beez I made a beat and I knew that what was lacking was the lyrics. I had made that beat in accordance to how I was feeling about the state of Nigeria. So, in this one, I have decided to add the lyrics.

I had to do everything on my phone because I don’t have a microphone or any professional recording devices. I am sure future beats would sound a lot better.

We keep going around in circles having our hopes dashed again and again in pieces

Stealing and killing is an envious fantasy

Many people stand up for their rights but they soon realize that their right is just a rite that could be washed away.

It’s like a beautiful flower that soon withers under the hot sun.

It wasn’t long before the others realized that this is not a test.

PS:

I did some free styling and because I couldn’t do a proper timing from my phone the lyrics may sound disjointed. I promise to make the next one better.

After uploading my Pilot work of Beats by Beez, I got some input from @draysax whom I consider a very knowledgeable guy with sounds.

So I decided to do something better. I tried to fashion the beat according to how I feel, and tight now, I feel really sad about Nigeria and her current state.

I was thinking about adding the lyrics to the beat but I can't be caught rapping when I am supposed to be working.🤣😂(🤫 shhh dont tell anyone). So I might put some lyrics to it in a later date.

I recently found an amazing app on my phone that allows me to be a DJ for a while. It's called beez.

I am not sure if it is any playstore. Anyways, I decided to tinker with it a little and came up with this beat. It's not exactly what I had in mind , I made some mistakes here and there but I love it.

Listen to the beat and tell me what you think.

I guess all that remains is to gind a wrapper with some sick lyrics to intergrate into the beat.

Its better with headphones 🎧.
