In this weeks episode Leah and Alison chat to Roisín Ní Ríain, who is a double Paralympic swimming medal winner and current UL Student. She has competed for Ireland in the Tokyo and Paris Games. They talk about how her journey into swimming, the experiences it has brought her and how she balances her sporting career with study. The girls also chat about what new coffee shops they've tried this week in Limerick.
Are UL? is back with a brand new season and two new hosts for the '24/'25 academic year! Meet Alison and Leah, two final year journalism students, who sit down with the founder and owner of the Poppy Cup Evelyne Mancassola, who just graduated from UL with a BA in International Business.

The Old Barracks are situated overlooking the River Shannon in the idyllic village of Birdhill, a location that is quickly earning a reputation as an innovative and proactive village, in addition to being Tidy Town winners 2017 and being home to their new coffee roastery and coffeebar, the rural village recently announced that they are Ireland’s first autism friendly village.
For this episode, Cathal and Nicky were joined by, Dr Roberto Mazza, Lecturer in the History of Modern Middle East at the University of Limerick.
Roberto specialises in the history of Palestine in the late 19th century and early 20th century and focuses on the history of violence and aims to understand historically, why it happens.
He also has a huge interest in the city of Jerusalem and hosts his very own podcast ‘Jerusalem Unplugged’.

Both Tracey and Sean are UL Alumni and are making a name for themselves in the fitness industry. They talk about their time in UL, their fitness journey, and everything in between.
In this episode of 'Are UL?' Communities officer Chelsea Joyce talked with William Keohane, a transgender man studying in UL. The two discussed the new UL Gender Recognition and Identity policy which is currently being developed.
In this podcast William discussed what transitioning was like for him. He talks about his experience with the university for changing defining records such as student email name and parchment details. The two discuss the benefit of the new policy to future transgender students, they also talk about the importance of inclusivity both on and off campus.
John and Brian, AKA The Performance Nerds, might look familiar to some of you who have attended their Leadership Training Module organised by the Student Leadership and Representation Office. This training helped students to get a better understanding of the overall principles, practices, and styles of leadership. Watch out next semester, for more training opportunities with the guys!
