Stephen — Congressman, Attorney, Brookfield native.
Stephen Harding was elected to his first term representing the 30th District in the State Senate in 2022 after four terms serving the people of the 107th House District. The 30th State Senate District is the largest geographically in the state comprising the communities of Bethlehem, Brookfield, Canaan, Cornwall, Goshen, Kent, Litchfield, Morris, New Fairfield, New Milford, North Canaan, Salisbury, Sharon, Sherman, Torrington, Warren, Washington, Winchester.
Stephen serves as Ranking Member of the Legislature’s Environment Committee, and as a member of the Judiciary Committee, Education Committee, and the Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committee.
After graduating Summa Cum Laude from Albertus Magnus college, Harding pursued his law degree at New York Law School in Manhattan. After graduation from New York Law, Harding was admitted to the Connecticut Bar and currently operates his own law practice in Danbury, CT.
Stephen has served the town of Brookfield on both the Zoning Board of Appeals and Brookfield Board of Education, where he chaired the Board’s Policy Subcommittee. In addition, he is a member of Brookfield Cares, an organization which addresses substance abuse and other mental health issues facing the town and surrounding communities. In youth sports, Harding has volunteered as a coach and is an executive board member of the Brookfield Baseball and Softball Association.
Stephen has been a resident of Brookfield for nearly 30 years, where he currently lives with his wife, Kelly, son, Carter, daughter, Piper, and golden retriever, Kennedy.

Louie, Danny and Joe — pavers, primos, pals.
Brothers Louie and Danny Augusto along with their cousin Joe Boa are the owners and operators of A & J Construction based in Brookfield, CT.
A & J was started in 1979 by Louie and Danny's father Arlindo. Joe's father Ray joined Arlindo 3 years later as a silent partner and in a full capacity by 1989. They do everything from paving driveways and parking lots to highways and airports.
Louie entered the business fresh out of high school and Danny followed soon after. Joe joined after receiving his Business Management degree from UConn in 2009. Together they've help build it to become one of the premier asphalt milling and paving companies in the tri-state area.
The conversation dives deep into the early days of growing up in the business. It emphasizes the importance of being a cohesive family unit while maintaining professional relationships.

Dave — Frontman, Lead singer, Rock Star Dad.
Dave Oberacker is the lead singer of the band Seeking Homer. They were born out of the Bronx, NY in the late 90's and quickly rose to become one of the most successful independent DYI rock and roll bands in the US.
Dave was born in Boston but spent most of his childhood in Bethel, CT where he currently resides with his wife and kids.
Dave is still active on the music scene with Seeking Homer as well as Lock Rock Outift and Gorja.
Seeking Homer is well now for their rendition of the Star Spangled Banner which was featured as part of a showcase during the 2000 PGA US Open. In 2001, the band gave all rights to the American Red Cross so that all royalties of the song would go directly to those affected by the 9-11 tragedies.

Dr. Brittny — Vascular Surgeon, Mom of 3, proud New Englander.
Brittny Howell is a board-certified Vascular Surgeon specializing as a physician coach at her practice Modern Vascular PLLC in Ridgefield, CT. There she focuses on a more holistic approach utilizing such things as IV therapy, neuropathy treatments, and Emsculpt Neo which is the only FDA-cleared, non-invasive treatment that increases muscle and reduces fat.

John — mortgage master, down-to-earth Dad, cancer survivor.
John Mascolo is the Branch Manager/Residential Loan Officer at Fairway Independent Mortgage in Ridgefield, CT. He has been in the mortgage business for the past 15 years and with Fairway Independent Mortgage for the past 3+ years. Prior to Fairway he was a Senior Loan officer for 11 years at Fairfield County Bank.
During John's time as a Loan officer, he has held various positions and contributed to several organizations within the Greater Danbury Area. He was a part of the United Way Emerging Leaders group and helped out with Habitat for Humanity. He led a group that raised tens of thousands of dollars in support of Ann’s Place while serving as the golf Chairman. Currently he is the treasurer on the Women’s Council of Realtors Board.
John is a cancer survivor for over 11 years. His youth was filled with sports and brotherly love. Having three brothers made daily life growing up hectic but thrilling. His parents instilled hard work, dedication and the importance of education in all the boys.

Alyson — Licensed Clinical Social Worker, truth speaker, wisdom seeker.
Alyson Halas is a psychotherapist with her own group practice in Danbury, CT. She and her staff see clients with a wide range of clinical issues such as trauma, chronic stress, anxiety, and depression. She also sees clients in a coaching capacity who have done enough healing work to step into the conscious work of personal expansion. Expansion work involves having the freedom to safely feel all of our feelings, to live primarily in the present moment, and to find the next steps on what she calls “the path of purpose and passion.”
Alyson is passionate about stress and trauma education, as well as trauma prevention. She believes that the majority of mental illnesses, as well as struggles with self-esteem and self-actualization are rooted in difficult life experiences, stress, and trauma and the effects of such experiences. She is an expert in a trauma and stress release technique known as EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) or “tapping” which can be used as a self-healing tool and in process with a psychotherapist trained in the application of Clinical EFT. Her expertise in the area of EFT comes first and foremost from her own use of the tool and the impact it has had on her own healing journey, as well as the essential role it continues to play in her own expansion.

Sandy and Gabi — Mom and Daughter, entrepreneurs, power Fam.
Sandra Do Nascimento and Gabriela Corte-Real are a Mom and Daughter duo who with other members of their family recently launched a new company. Onyx Threads is an online boutique specializing in on-trend women's clothing. The covid pandemic was a terrible situation for lots of people but these intelligent ladies got creative and stayed focused. Committed work ethics and strong family bonds assured them absolute success.
Sandy is Steve's first cousin. She's been a teacher for 21 years; bilingual Portuguese for the first 4 and Kindergarten for the past 17. As discussed in the podcast she also owned and operated a bridal shop before becoming a teacher.
Gabi is Steve's Goddaughter. She's been learning valuable lessons her entire life by staying involved in several family businesses from a young age. She recently received her undergrad from Iona and went directly for an MBA. She's currently in tax accounting.

Perry — restaurant owner, Greek Freak, pizza purist.
Periklis “Perry” Anastasakis is the owner of Famous Pizza in Bethel, CT. His parents started the business in 1982. Perry and his family have successfully operated it for over 40 years.
Perry had a brief stint in the corporate world after graduating college with an accounting degree. But he returned home to follow his passion for serving great pizza in his hometown. He has expanded the business with his partner & brother-in-law Tony. They work hand in hand along with a tremendous staff to serve the neighborhood and beyond.
Famous Pizza has been a staple in the center of Bethel for decades. They are well known not only for their great food and friendly service but they continue to be a shining light among everyone in the local community.

John — family man, VP, a true DeMoura.
John DeMoura is Steve's first cousin on his Father's side. He is the Vice President of Encon Heating and Air Conditioning based in Stratford, CT.
John grew up in construction. All he knows is hard work. He claims to be a simple guy who stays humble but his peers recognize someone who is extremely driven, inspires others and stays hungry.
Our conversation was truly enlightening. It quickly became evident he has the formula and the fortitude for success. He went to the school of hard knocks. In essence he came from the bottom now he's up.

Mindy — wifey, momma, photographer, teacher, CrossFitter, lover of people, coffee shops and all things crunchy.
Mindy Palhete Fernandes graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY with a degree in elementary education and science with a minor in psychology. She went onto CCSU to earn her Masters degree in early childhood. Mindy taught for nearly a decade in Danbury, CT; 2nd grade for three years then 3rd grade.
Mindy and her husband Lou left their profession as teachers to focus on growing their photography and videography company. Everlasting Films & Photography, where they specialize in weddings, boudoir photography, and family portraits, has been a thriving passion they continue to run today.
Once Mindy and Lou decided to start a family, they expanded their business with associate photographers and videographers so that she could focus primarily on raising her children while still managing the business and handling the editing/studio work. She does still however pop in to shoots from time to time to get behind the camera. Her photography work has led her to projects in Spain, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and Mexico.
Mindy’s health journey has led her to living a very natural, holistic/’crunchy’ lifestyle. She’s dedicated a great deal of time to learning about and experiencing the healing benefits of nutrition, supplementation, and detoxification. She embraced her cancer diagnosis in 2017 and set off on a wild trip getting to the root of her health crisis. With the help of Dr. Yvette Whitton, Dr. Nelson Labaredas, Dr. Henry Sobo, and amongst other practitioners, Mindy underwent a personal quest to heal her body from within in the realms of physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It was way beyond the physical that western medicine led her to believe. Her mission is to one day, share all of her findings and experiences in a book in hopes of helping others.
Mindy's journey continued when she moved from Brookfield, CT to Florida in 2020 with her family. She enjoys getting her high doses of vitamin D and Crossfitting with Lou. She is always on a search to find a good local dive that offers local and clean products and absolutely loves supporting small businesses!

Niro — Mom, therapist, podcaster, author.
Niro Feliciano is a cognitive psychotherapist who has specialized in treating anxiety for the last 16 years. She just released her first book "This Book Won't Make You Happy: Eight Keys to Finding True Contentment" which headlined the podcast conversation. She is also the author of the Psychology Today blog “The Good Enough Life” and podcast host of “All Things Life” a weekly show on mental, emotional and spiritual wellness. Niro co-founded a multi-specialty mental health group Integrative Counseling and Wellness Group in Wilton, CT where she treats mainly anxiety in adults and adolescents. In addition, she helps clients with relationship issues and communication, self-esteem issues, personal goal development and stress management.
Niro is a Brooklyn-born Sri Lankan-American. She graduated from Columbia University with a Masters of Science in Social Work and completed her internship at Beth Israel Medical Center. She also worked at Mount Sinai’s adolescent health center, one of the largest adolescent clinics in the country. Over the years Niro's passion has grown into a strong desire for helping women and men live freer, fuller lives by getting aligned with what is most important to them.

Eddie — aspiring law enforcement officer, gym beast, lovable teddy bear. Eddie Pierre is local guy on a path towards self empowerment and financial success. Marky Mark — Commissioner, former Mayor, Big Poppa.
Mark Boughton was the longest serving Mayor of Danbury, CT. He held the title for 10 consecutive terms before leaving to serve as commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services in late 2020.
Mark knows Danbury better than anyone. He went through the public school system and taught Social Studies at Danbury High for 11 years before beginning his political career as a State Representative for 138th District of Connecticut in 1998. His first year as Mayor of Danbury was in 2001.
As a veteran Mark knows a thing or two about what it takes to tackle demanding issues while maintaining a steady hand. He made national headlines by pitching at Amazon to bring their HQ to Danbury in 2017 by marking notable statistics including its designation as the safest city in the state, one of the most diverse cities in the country, and the 2nd best place to live in the United States of America. Another event headlined Danbury when famous comedian and TV host John Oliver attacked the city for no apparent reason on his show. Mayor Mark responded in typical amusing fashion by renaming the sewage treatment plant to the "John Oliver Memorial Sewage Treatment Plant". It was all in good fun, Oliver ended up donating $55,000 to charities in Danbury.
Mark's passion in education and public service cannot be denied. He continues to be a leading advocate of quality education for all children. His robust presence on social media proves that he is willing to serve in all forms for the community.

Angelina Valentini is a Real Estate Agent with William Raveis in Danbury, CT. Ray — local business owner, entrepreneur, exceptional idol.
Ray Boa is The Boa Life in the flesh. He is the co-owner and President of A&J Construction based in Brookfield, CT. He was born in Portugal but moved to Angola, Africa at a young age where he lived a very modest life with both of his parents and older brother Joe. The family eventually immigrated to the U.S. to seek greater opportunities and settled in Danbury, CT.
As a young man Ray had many aspirations. His focus was developing the tools needed to excel at soccer, be a positive community leader as well as a family man. He is currently fluent in four languages but was only capable of speaking Portugese when he arrived at NYC on February 28, 1968 aboard the ship Christopher Columbus. He knew he had to work exceptionally hard. The love, dedication and ambition his parents instilled in him has led to the many successes he continues to reflect on today.
Ray graduated from Danbury High School and Western Connecticut State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration. He dominated the soccer field and was proudly inducted into Soccer Hall of Fame at both schools. More recently he received the Entrepreneur of the Year Award and was selected to be on the Advisory Board Center For Compassion, Creativity, & Innovation at Western Connecticut State University. He was also honored by the Danbury Old Timers. After school Ray quickly rose through the ranks as a Supervisor at Grolier Inc. and then Manager of Export Sales and Service for International Development Markets at Duracell Inc.
Ray's accolades are endless. The list begins with being on the Board of Directors at the Portuguese American Club and President of General Assembly and Marching Band at the Sons of Portugal, all while starting a new family and venturing out of the corporate world into business with his brother-in-law Arlindo Augusto. A&J Construction was in its infancy but Ray knew that his entrepreneurial spirit could not be held down. He continued to work hard and serve his community. The Portuguese Cultural Center was born and Ray served as the President of the Board of Directors and Board of Trustees. Ray also served as member of Economic Advisory Committee at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, the Board of Directors at Danbury Hospital and currently serves on the Board of trustees at Union Savings Bank.
Ray lives in Danbury, CT with his wife Zulmira. They have three adult children Kelly, Lori and Joseph. The also have six grand children Nina, Jax, Luke, Nora, Mila and Reese.

Jimmy and Neil — comrades, coaches, CrossFit extraordinaires.
Jimmy Oates III and Neil-Thomas Lauri are CrossFit coaches at CFB Athletic Club in Bethel, CT. They lead multiple levels of athletes with ages ranging from 5-83 years old through the rigorous fundamentals of exercise. They encompass what it means to be well rounded healthy individuals.
Jimmy has lived in Bethel for much of his life. He's been coaching for over two years and is currently the GM at CFB Athletic Club. As a former lacrosse player for Quinnipiac University Jimmy has the experience and tools to get the best out of his members. His favorite part about the job is being able to help people achieve their goals and getting them the results they want. Jimmy's passion is working out and competing in CrossFit competitions, but music and anything marvel related occupy any down time he may have.
Coming in at 5 foot 11 and a half inches, born in late 1991 and raised in the Empire State comes Neil. Neil's been coaching CrossFit since 2012. It's been his main focus along with powerlifting, Olympic weightlifting and sport-specific training. He's trained a diverse group of athletes ranging from weight loss to competing. Neil's life outside the gym is mainly occupied at a butcher shop in Brewster, NY where he's been employed for the past 15 years. He lives next door in Carmel, NY.

Alex Carmargo and Daniel Silva lead an office of 15 real estate agents in the greater Danbury area extending into New York State with a considerable focus on agent growth and team development. They serve their community by providing education towards selling, buying and investing. Both Alex and Daniel are originally from Brazil but have resided in Danbury for the past 20 plus years.
Alex lives with his wife Angelica and son Andy. He enjoys spending time with his family, serving his church, volunteering in community events, playing volleyball and running Spartan obstacle course races. For Alex, a good balance of spirituality and health begins at 5:00am with some reading and intense workouts so the day is already conquered before sunrise.
Daniel lives with his wife Marcela and two beautiful daughters, Violet and Olivia. He believes that his occupation is to be an agent but his vocation is to teach. He dedicates parts of his day to training new agents as a way to give back to the industry and help impact lives. Daniel enjoys spending time with his family, serving at his church, networking, reading, playing tennis and golf and working out.

Matt — educator, proud boy dad, devoted Crystal Palace fan.
Dr. Matthew Worwood is a professor of Digital Media Design at the University of Connecticut with a research focus dedicated to creativity, design thinking, and learner experience design. He blogs at DadsforCreativity.com and co-hosts the Fueling Creativity podcast. He's also produced some super low-budget documentary films including the class of 2032 project.
Nick and Steve have known Matt for almost 10 years. Nick used to kick his butt at 6am Bootcamp and Steve would hassle him on the soccer field where Matt worked as a ref.

Angelica — mom, counselor, bright character. Angelica Camargo, LCSW is a behavioral health clinician at the Adolescent and Family Counseling Center of Danbury, CT. She studied social work at Fordham University, where she received Phi Alpha Honors with her Master’s degree in Social Service.
Throughout her graduate education, Angelica applied her knowledge, skills and training to the Community Health Center. She has worked for over 12 years in many social service roles such as case manager, community liaison between mental health organizations, patient navigator, MSW intern and behavioral health clinician. Prior to those roles, Angelica worked with Greystone Program, a contracted organization through the Administration of Children Services (ACS) in New York, which assisted in providing skill building services for children who were leaving the foster care system and being adopted. Angelica’s primary focus throughout her education and professional experience has been to continue working with individuals and families in underserved communities who have been impacted by traumatic experiences such as neglect, abuse, incarceration, and addiction. In addition she works with faith-based organizations to provide referrals for children, adults and families in need of behavioral health services. Cal Evan is from Houston Texas. His desire to learn more about the world and expand his photography career led him to move to the northeast. Win — Orthopaedic Surgeon, inventor, undeniable savant.
Dr. Win Chang, M.D. has recently retired from 27 years of private clinical practice as a shoulder and total joint reconstructive specialist. He is a former Clinical Assistant Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at the New York University Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was also fellowship trained in Bio-engineering.
Currently Dr. Chang travels the world extensively teaching physical therapists, athletes and coaches on a novel rotator cuff exercise device that he invented, the ShoulderSphere. Shortly after creating his device he received the 2016 INPEX Gold Medal Award for the most innovative invention in the field of health sciences.

Steve's wife Kate is the rock of the Demoura household. Her daily life is jammed pack raising their three amazing kids, Maxwell (8), Carter (6) and Chloe (5). As a former teacher she has all the ingredients for the Boa Life but admits to looking for more balance. The Demoura motto is "running our own race".
Nick's wife Kelly is a Boa by birth and super proud of her Portuguese roots. Kelly has her MBA and worked in the corporate world for 10 years before starting her own skincare business. She is grateful to be able to raise her son Luke (3) and daughter Mila (1) while growing her successful business from home.
