This is a novel. It’s long winding story that is based on the encounter that I had in my youth with a fascinating man by the strange name of Giuseppe Lupo.
Here I am asked by my creative writing teacher to remove myself from the story. So I begin chapter one with Gio’s bicycle ride towards his new life.
Intro Part 3: A Secret, Shared With Julia
Part 3 covers the questions the reader might have about the credibility of my stories, and if the stories are all true (they are!). I also see how it is very tough to tell his story comprehensively, but his daughter Julia appears to offer to help.
Intro Part 2: The Colors of a Sandwich
In Part 2, we learn more about understanding these notes from my creative writing class on Gio’s life, which were out of order and written with no set chronological fashion. We also understood just how much I wanted to be like Gio, and how much he had already influenced the trajectory of my life.
Intro Part 1 is a prologue to my story “The Apprenticeship of Giuseppe Lupo”, detailing why I have written this book, what it means to me, and the encounter I had in my youthful years with this strange man, who taught me so much about life, and how to live it well.
A story weaved in a creative writing class.
