The Facts of Salvation

  1. All people have sinned (for all have sinned and fall short. Romans 3:23)
  2. The penalty is death. (The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus.)
  3. Jesus paid the penalty. (But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. Romans 5:8

So to become a Christian means a willing response to the goodness where we see ourselves as sinners who cannot save ourselves and place our confidence in Jesus to save us. It's saying "yes" to Jesus. Yes to his sacrifice for us personally. Yes to belief in him. Yes to receiving him.

When it comes to doubts about God’s faithfulness in our lives,  we all have them.  There are times, maybe even long seasons, when we feel God isn’t showing up like before.  I say “like before”  because we all have memories, stories, and the accompanying emotions when God has shown up big time - and wowed us.  But perhaps it doesn't seem that way anymore.  Three thoughts to consider.

From Hebrews 12:1-16
