The main message seems to be that contentment is available to believers who turn to God in prayer instead of worrying, rely on Christ's strength, focus on blessings rather than lack, and trust God to meet their needs. The key is an inner attitude of peace and gratitude in Christ.

Here are a few key points from the sermon:
· As Christians, we have dual citizenship - temporary on earth, eternal in heaven. We become citizens of heaven when we trust in Christ alone for salvation.
· Citizens of heaven should live differently than the world:
Follow godly examples, not ungodly ones. Be a godly mentor for others.
Embrace the message of the cross - be dead to self and the world. Live for Christ and eternal things.
Live in anticipation of Christ's return. Be ready at any moment for Him to come back and transform us into sinless, heavenly bodies.
· The sermon encourages us to align our priorities and live like citizens of heaven while we are still on earth. We should make a positive, eternal impact each day.
In summary, the main idea is that as Christians, we have an eternal citizenship in heaven that should affect how we live each day on earth. We are called to follow godly examples, embrace the cross, and live in anticipation of Christ's return.
Philippians 3:20, But our citizenship is in heaven, from where also we await for our Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ,

Choose the right things.
Make sure we are on the right path.
If we are choosing the right things and seeking the right things we need to keep the right things.
Heart is the central word for the mind.
When we guard our hearts it affects our mouth.
Proverbs 6:12; Proverbs 10:11; Proverbs 15:28; Proverbs 16:1; Provers 4:25
Psalm 101:3, I will set no wicked thing
before my eyes.
Psalm 73:1-3, Truly God is good to Israel,
to the pure in heart.
2 But as for me, my feet almost stumbled;
my steps had almost slipped.
3 For I was envious at the boastful;
I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
Proverbs 4:26, Ponder the path of your feet,
and let all your ways be established.
God is here looking out for us.

Proverbs 4 - https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=proverbs+4&version=MEV
We need to seek the right things.
Proverbs 4:4-5, Get wisdom! Get understanding!
Do not forget it, nor turn away from the words of my mouth.
6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you;
love her, and she will keep you.
Jesus is our starting place then from there we can gain so much truth and hope for our lives.
We need to choose the right thing.
Proverbs 4:10-19
We all have choices to make.
Matthew 7:14 because small is the gate and narrow is the way which leads to life, and there are few who find it.
Proverbs 4:11, I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right (upright, straight forward) paths.
Proverbs 4:12, When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
and when you run, you will not stumble.
We take the freedom to make choices and can stretch that to our own demise.
Our life is complicated. God helps us.
Psalm 119:105, Your word is a lamp to my feet
and a light to my path.
God does protect us. Look to Him for true protection.
Proverbs 6:23, For the commandment is a lamp, and the law is light;
and reproofs of instruction are the way of life,
2 Corinthians 5:7, For we walk by faith, not by sight.
We grow by the Word of God.

The Church Striving Together for the Faith of the Gospel • Pastor Larry Luffman

1Live your life in a way that is consistent with the gospel. Your actions should match your beliefs. Be people of integrity, not hypocrisy. When unbelievers see Christ followers living in contradiction to the gospel, it turns them away from the faith.
2Serve together as a team. God has made believers one with each other. Strive to maintain unity amidst diversity. Don't allow bitterness, gossip, pride or jealousy to divide you. Keep the main goal in focus - spreading the gospel.
3Demonstrate relentless courage in the face of opposition and adversity. Don't be afraid of those who oppose the gospel. View suffering for Christ as a privilege. Take heart knowing you are not alone - others are facing similar battles. Resolve not to quit but to keep fighting the good fight of faith.
The church's mission is to advance the gospel of Jesus Christ. This requires unity, consistency between beliefs and actions, courage and determination. As we strive together despite opposition, Christ is glorified and His kingdom expands.

There are principles in God’s Word that:
Guide us (Proverbs 4:5-6, Get wisdom! Get understanding! Do not forget it, nor turn away from the words of my mouth. 6 Do not forsake her, and she will preserve you; love her, and she will keep you.
Proverbs 4:7, Wisdom is principal; therefore get wisdom. And with all your getting, get understanding.
Wisdom is the captain. It’s the most important quality in life.
Proverbs 8:11, for wisdom is better than rubies, and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
Matthew 16:26, For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul? Or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?
How do you come to have peace in your life? It is by receiving wisdom through God’s Word.
Proverbs 4:10-19, Hear, my son, and receive my sayings,
and the years of your life will be many.
11 I have taught you in the way of wisdom;
I have led you in right paths.
12 When you walk, your steps will not be hindered,
and when you run, you will not stumble.
13 Take firm hold of instruction, do not let her go;
keep her, for she is your life.
14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,
and do not go in the way of evil men.
15 Avoid it, do not travel on it;
turn from it and pass on.
16 For they do not sleep unless they have done mischief;
and their sleep is taken away unless they cause some to fall.
17 For they eat the bread of wickedness
and drink the wine of violence.
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light,
that shines more and more unto the perfect day.
19 The way of the wicked is as darkness;
they do not know at what they stumble.
As a motivation, Solomon tells his son about the path that is right before him. Pay attention to what is right in front of you.
We can think, at times, we are on the right path, yet find ourselves stumbling along life.
We may need to recalibrate our life and bring God and His Word closer to us and thirst for His wisdom and not those around us.
God gives us guidance.
The path of the wicked is controlled by the evil.
Our lives must be controlled by the Word of God.
Proverbs 4:18, But the path of the just is as the shining light,
that shines more and more unto the perfect day.

Finding the Right Hope in Christ Alone
1 Timothy 1:1-3
Do you know fellow believers who are not of your physical family, but they’re just like family? Isn’t this awesome? There is a reason for that. Ephesians 4:16 & 1 Corinthians 12:12-27. This book of 1 Timothy is written out of a relationship like that. vs. 2
Paul deals with this issue of hope in the very first verse of the book.
The word “hope” means “anticipation; expectation; confidence.” It’s not a wishy-washy, maybe so, probably so type of thing. It is a steadfast confidence.
If your hope today lies in your job, your money, your house, your stocks and bonds, your religion, or your relationships, you are on a shaky foundation. Christ is your hope.
Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?
First, Christ alone is Savior.
The word “Savior” means “deliverer.” What do we need to be saved from? The Bible is clear. We need to be saved from our sins and the destruction that will come to this present evil world from the hand of God. Galatians 1:4
Did you know Christ desires to be your Savior? He alone is Savior because He alone was God in the flesh, dying for our sins.
Christ alone is Savior because He is the only One that abolished death. When Christ appeared, it was a wonderful day for this world. There was now hope, a way to be eternally delivered from death, a way to escape it, and a way to overcome it. 1 Thessalonians 5:9-10
Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?
Second, Christ alone is Lord.
Notice in verse 1 that Paul refers to Jesus as “Lord Jesus Christ.” Again in verse 2, he refers to him as “Jesus Christ our Lord.” The term “Lord”means “absolute authority.” cf. 6:15
Jesus is called the “only Potentate [ruler]” and “Lord of lords.”
Why is finding the right hope only found in Christ alone?
Third, Christ alone can reconcile sinners. As we said, Christ alone is Savior. It is Jesus Christ that saves sinners. vs. 15
How can that gap be bridged? We desperately need somebody who can mediate and bring peace with God for human beings that are sinners. There is now a way to find grace, mercy, and peace with God. If you have trusted Christ as your Savior, do you know what happened the moment you got saved?
You received:
Grace – You became an object of God’s favor by faith in Christ alone.
Mercy – You were released from the sentence of judgment you deserved.
Peace – You were brought into a position of complete peace with God.
Only Jesus Christ could do this for you. That is why Christ alone is our hope.

I believe that most would describe the church that they attend as a good church, wouldn't you agree? But would you say it is a perfect church? No, I am sure we would agree on that too. Why?
There is no such thing as a perfect church, and do you know why there are no perfect churches? Because there are no perfect people, and people are what lead and compose a church! If you have people, then there will be problems. That’s just a fact. There are some churches that are doing a great work, and the Apostle Paul mentions one in 1 Thessalonians 1:2-3 - We give thanks to God always for you all, mentioning you in our prayers, 3 remembering without ceasing your work of faith, labor of love, and patient hope in our Lord Jesus Christ in the sight of God and our Father. There are some examples of great churches in God’s Word. One of those was the church in which Paul had his first public ministry, the church at Antioch.
The church that you are in and that I pastor, is it a good church or a GREAT church? Let's look into God's Word and learn what a GREAT church does and looks like. What were the characteristics that made the church at Antioch a GREAT church?

Charles Spurgeon said, "The doorstep to the temple of wisdom is a knowledge of our own ignorance." Solomon, who is writing here in Proverbs 2, must have had a similar thought in mind when he begins to instruct his son regarding the wisdom that he needed for life.
We tend to be satisfied to do whatever we think or feel is right for the moment and, at times, never seek out the wisdom of God or what He thinks. The verses in this chapter are filled with 8 imperatives that describe the importance of getting all the wisdom that you can get. We are to receive, hide, incline, apply, cry after, lift up the voice, seek for, and search after the wisdom of God.
Synonymous with wisdom is Christ and the Word of God. When we have Christ in us and the His Word dwelling in us, then we have the wisdom of God available to us.

The Bible in Proverbs 1:20-33 talks about someone who is simple, foolish, and who is a scorner. What do these terms mean and what can we learn from it? By the way, these are not a good description of any person, especially those who identify as a Christian.
Why do we need wisdom and what does it do for us? What if you or I decide we are going to do things our own way, make our own decisions without God, or we choose to live apart from His truth from His Word? What are the consequences to living independently from God?
In this study we will learn that there are consequences, but you don't have to experience them or wait until the outcome is bad to start making godly choices and decisions now.

Solomon explains the levels of influence in life for his son here in this text of Proverbs 1:10-23. The greatest influence or best influence we can have in our lives is of course, the Lord. It is important to realize that we never outgrow peer pressure. Even as adults your friendships will have a tremendous effect on your life spiritually.
Temptation is common to every person. We are going to be tempted by the world, the flesh, and the devil to violate the Word of God. Yet, God has promised us a way out of all the temptations that we face.
1 Cor. 10:13 **“There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
James 1:12 “Blessed is the man that endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love Him.”**When we have a greater insight and understanding of the temptation that we face in life we will have more ability and strength to resist the temptation. In this study, we will discover how we can say no to the voice of temptation.

We all at times can make excuses, can't we? Have you ever made an excuse that while may have not been the exact story, you used it to get out of doing something or to avoid taking responsible for something? I have, not my best move to say the least. We all probably could say yes to that.
Jeremiah had some excuses to when God called him to be a prophet to the nations. To say the least, he had a few, yet God had a promise for every excuse that Jeremiah came up with.
Let's look into God's Word together and learn how to not only stop the excuses but also become the person that God wants us to be and will equip us to be.

When you study the teaching of the Lord Jesus on the vine and branches, you realize that there is a great deal to the Christian life and yet the fruitfulness of the Christian life isn't always pleasant nor does it some easy or natural. Growing spiritually comes through God molding, shaping, and pruning us.
Any good gardener knows that beautiful roses require careful pruning. Pieces of a living plant have to die. A rose that will bloom into something of beauty cannot just grow wild. In order for the proper nutrients not to be starved out or hindered in getting to the needed places for maximizing the plant, tree, or branch's potential, some pruning must be done, or the needed growth will never take place.
And so it is in our life spiritually as well. Join me in this study out of John 15 as we learn the purpose, process, and principles that are associated with Christ at work in our lives.

Matthew 27:55-56
Matthew 27:55 says, “Many women…. followed Jesus…. serving [ministering to] Him.”
Verse 56 of Matthew 27 says these women included, “Among whom was Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James and Joseph, and the mother of Zebedee’s sons.” Many women followed Jesus.
I believe one of the greatest assets this world can have is women of faith. The greatest influence a woman can have on her family and community is to be a woman of faith. Women of faith have made some of the greatest, most constructive, and life-changing contributions to our world than any group in society.
Don’t believe me? Have you ever read the story of Mary, the mother of Jesus? She above anyone else made the greatest life-changing contribution to our world. Did she not?
And there have been many, many more women along with her who have been positive ambassadors of Christ as well.
Although Jesus never married, some of His closest, faithful followers were women. Many followed Him throughout His life. I want us to look at some of the women who were faithful followers of Jesus.
What kind of women were they? What were some of their characteristics? What was in these women that can help women today become faithful followers of Christ?
How do we see their faith? By their actions/deeds/words. A woman of faith speaks of her faith in her Lord. Join Pastor Larry through this podcast to be encouraged that church and its leadership is way more than the traditional man mindset!

Have you ever noticed how we love to blame others when things fall apart? Do you think God ever gets blamed for bad things today? When problems and bad circumstances enter people’s lives, often they will turn and blame God.
But I need to tell you the truth about this…God is not the author of sin, death, confusion, and evil. God is a good and gracious God. Problems enter our lives for many reasons but most often it is from the choices we make. James 1:13-14Here in Acts 21, the apostle Paul is bound with two chains by the chief captain in Jerusalem (vs. 33). This would end Paul’s public ministry as a free man. No longer would Paul have the liberty to decide where he would go and preach the gospel.
How could this happen? The greatest apostle in the New Testament was mobbed, arrested, jailed, and eventually executed. A person might ask, “Why would God do this to Paul?” Isn’t it sad that sometimes we often look to blame God? God did not do anything to Paul! Paul brought all of this on himself. Paul made a series of choices that led to all of these problems.
You must understand that every choice you make always has consequences. How can you make godly choices in your life?

Join Pastor Larry with a look back at his message “Shine As Lights” in Acts 24; Ephesians 4 from August 29, 2021.
Philippians 2:15, that you may be blameless and harmless, sons of God, without fault, in the midst of a crooked and perverse generation, in which you shine as lights in the world.
The world is perverse. How should Christians respond to that? It is to shine as lights.
We should want to shine bright for Jesus Christ.
We need to go and shine bright in the world no matter what you are doing or where you are at.
If you are a Christian, positionally you are a child of God. We are the light of Christ, but not everybody does it.
How can you shine as a light for Christ in everyday life?
Refuse to associate and participate in the works of darkness.
The believer’s actions, ethics, morals, and tactics should be vastly different thatn those who are without Christ.
Ephesians 4:25, Therefore, putting away lying, let every man speak truthfully with his neighbor, for we are members of one another.
1 Timothy 6:10-11, For the love of money is the root of all evil. While coveting after money, some have strayed from the faith and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.
The Good Fight of Faith
11 But you, O man of God, escape these things, and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, and gentleness.
2 Corinthians 4:6, For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.
The Christian life is not just about what we don’t do.
The Christian life is also about allowing God’s Spirit to fill us and bear His fruit iin our lives, proving what is acceptable to the Lord.

The Lord introduces some great truths in the gospel of John by the use of a vivid illustration. He uses the imagery of the vine to teach us about life in Him and bearing fruit for Him. He tells them 8 times in this chapter that they are to “abide in the vine.”
To abide in Christ means to, to stay (in a given place, state, relation or expectancy): abide, continue, dwell, endure, be present, remain, and stand. Abide is the imperative of the passage. We have to be commanded to abide because it is not natural for us to do that.
As we study the great lesson on the vine I want you to come away with this study convinced of the fact that God has a plan and purpose for your life, and nothing will satisfy you like spending your life glorifying Him.
Let's learn together why it is so crucial for us to abide (remain) in Christ and the key or secret to doing so.

When you remember the fact that our forefathers were seeking to be free from the tyranny of England and desiring religious freedom then you appreciate the fact that the battle cry for the Continental Army was, "No King, but Jesus."
However, as you read this text of the trial of Jesus Christ just prior to His crucifixion, it appears that the battle cry in that day was "Any king but Jesus." The arrest, trial, and crucifixion of Christ have many interesting highlights. The dialogue between Pilate and Christ is a fascinating study on how people view Jesus Christ. It also shows the uniqueness of Christ and the impact that He had on every person that He had contact with.
You must decide what you are going to do with Jesus Christ. You cannot ignore Him, you better not dismiss Him, you must make a decision. After, there is no one like Jesus.

John 11 is about an empty tomb. Not Christ’s empty tomb, but Christ’s friend Lazarus’ tomb. He had been dead for four days, but Christ raised him to life. vs. 41-44
With Christ performing a miracle of such magnitude like this (raising Lazarus from the dead) it forced people to get off the fence and make a true decision about Jesus Christ. Life is all about decisions.
There is one decision you will make that will affect you more than you could ever imagine and that’s the decision you make concerning Jesus Christ and the empty tomb. Jesus ended His teaching with a simple question, “Do you believe this?”what Jesus was simply asking was, **“Do you believe me?” vs. 25-26
Every person must decide whether to believe or not concerning Jesus and the empty tomb. Why?**

In Christianity, the cross is the main thing! It is the only thing! It is the center piece of who we are and why we do what we do! What Jesus did, the price He paid, the sacrifice He made, the wrath of God that He satisfied and the redemptive work at the cross is the main thing.
Without the cross there is no power, without the cross there is no freedom, without the cross there is no forgiveness, without the cross there is no authority, without the cross there is no strength, without the cross there is no victory, without the cross there’s no peace —there is nothing at all. The cross is the main thing.
The problem that we face today in our modern, contemporary Christian culture is that we have forgotten the purpose, preeminence, and the power of the cross.

Temptation is a subject that should be of interest to every person. There is not one person who is immune to temptation. 1 Corinthians 10:13 - “There hath no temptation taken you, but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.”
What about us, can we ever win the battle over temptation? After all, even in a perfect environment, Adam and Eve succumb to temptation. Is there any hope for us?
The answer is yes, but we must learn the truth about temptation in order to understand how we can escape it and live in victory over it. Join me as we walk this journey discovering how the battle is won over temptation.

We live in a day and age in which few people believe in absolute truth, yet the Bible emphatically declares itself to be the truth. John 17:17; Ephesians 1:13; 1 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 Timothy 2:15
Answer this question for yourself…Am I committed to the truth of God? Does it impact my daily life, my home, my decisions, and my relationships?
Every believer must be totally committed to God’s truth. Why is this so crucially important? Join me in this new study as we learn about why God's Truth (the Bible) demands a decision.

Have you ever been excited about something, and then another person came along, and as the expression goes, “They threw cold water all over you.” Unfortunately, this happens in the church, too. A person is excited to be at church, passionate about helping and serving others, and they are on fire for God, but his or her passion for God is quenched by someone or something.
Here in this study, we find that David was young, inexperienced, and outmatched, but he had one thing going for him. He was passionate about his God and wasn't about to allow this giant or even his own family to kill the passion that God had put into his heart. David was red hot, on fire, sold-out, fervent, zealous, and passionate about his God. He was 100% committed to God. Did you know that this is God's will for every believer? Yes, that is true, God wants you and I to live this way as Christians. To be passionate about God and His Word.
However, Satan does not want you to possess this kind of spirit. He would rather you possess a casual, ho-hum, detached type of attitude toward your relationship with God. In fact, Satan has what is called “passion killers” that will drain you of your passion for God. David had to overcome these here in our text, and we must overcome them too.

Have you ever felt this way, heard this from others, or even said this statement..."My life has been Hell on Earth, I have been through so much pain and disappointment, either physically or emotionally”? If we are all honest, even if we have never said it, we all have felt that way at times. Life can be very tough, painful, and disappointing.
Maybe you have experienced that in the past or you are even at this very moment. We never want to minimize that for you, but I do want to bring you some encouragement.
Here is the good news. You can experience a taste of Heaven on Earth right now. This has nothing to do with your outward circumstances or your past but it has to do with your response to God, fully resting in Him, and trusting His Word.
When we are learning the Bible to live the Bible, that is when life begins to be a taste of Heaven on Earth for us. Why? Because we are following God’s plan and God’s will for our lives. What does it look like when we live out what we’ve learned in the Bible?

Jesus made some big bold claims in the New Testament. They would have been absurd, outrageous, and ridiculous except for the fact that He was God in the flesh. No other prophet, moral person, or even self-acclaimed religious leader has ever, will ever, or could ever make these claims.
Jesus made six of these bold claims in the book of John that started with the words, "I AM". The name "I AM" means that He is God, that He always has been, and He always will be God.
Take the journey with me as we learn of these bold claims, what was Jesus saying, and how they apply to us today!

Why do we exist here at Freedom Ministries? Why do we gather, worship, add ministries, post podcasts, use social media, and strive to further the gospel not only in our community but also around the world? It is to love God, love others, and make disciples. Without a mission/purpose statement, it would be easy to become adrift, out of line, and have no impact in the lives of others and including our own. God gave us His book so that we would have truth to base our lives on. Truth produces change.
Here at Freedom our desire is to welcome a new year, not because of what we want God to give to us or to do for us, but because although it is a different year, we have the same God! Join us for 2023 as Pastor Larry helps us through God's Word (the Bible) in the areas we struggle with and need to change in.

Merry Christmas to you all. It always amazes me how the world gets into Christmas without even a thought or clue as to what it is really all about.
Christmas is supposed to be all about Christ. Christ was born in Bethlehem, but then 33 years later willingly laid down His life on the cross for us. He fully paid our sin debt so that we could be forgiven.
This is what Christmas is all about. It is about worshiping the Son of God and the Savior of the world, Jesus Christ. It is about worshiping, praising, and adoring Christ.
Join Pastor Larry in the text of Matthew 2:1-13 where a group of men fully realized what the birth of Christ was all about.
Thank you for joining us through Pastor Larry's podcasts.

What did Jesus specialize in when He walked this earth? If you asked this question to a group of people, you may get a variety of answers.
Here in Luke 2, a group of shepherds had their lives radically changed because of this babe in Bethlehem, Jesus Christ. For over 2000 years now, Jesus has been taking lives and changing them for God's glory. He is still doing it today.
Every person can experience a changed life through Jesus Christ!

When we think about the Christmas story, our minds immediately go to Jesus, to the baby in the manger. Also, we think of Mary, and we may even think of old, nasty King Herod. Our minds may think of the proverbial “three wise men” or the shepherds in the field. But usually, we don’t give a lot of thought to Joseph, the man who would be the earthly stepfather of the Son of God, Jesus Christ.
I believe Joseph should be talked about more. He was quite a man. Joseph is an incredible example to us all of what we ought to strive to be. This message will hopefully inspire all of us in our walk with God, especially as we enter the Christmas season.

Unfortunately, at times, we all can be judgmental and unthankful towards life, other people, and even towards God. I want for us to learn about being thankful and how that plays out in our lives according to God’s Word.
The principle of thankfulness is mentioned about 50 to 60 times in the New Testament. Just in this book of Colossians, it is mentioned five times. Colossians 1:3, 2:7, 3:15, 17; 4:2
Here in Colossians 3:15-17, the Bible teaches that a thankful spirit is indicative of the spiritual depth of a Christian’s life. Your thankfulness (or lack thereof) really evidences where you are at in your relationship with Christ.
When a person is thankful, it shows up in their life. Would thankfulness describe you?

I know at times we all can be judgmental and unthankful towards life, towards other people, and even towards God. Sometimes we only thank God at a certain time, place or season. Sometimes we only thank God when things are going great in our lives. I believe we have to constantly focus on being thankful and demonstrating that.
I want to share with you this week of Thanksgiving 4 things or areas that every born-again believer can thank God for, no matter what the circumstances are.
All of these points involve the word “Freedom” in them. Four freedoms you can thank God for as you go into this season of thanksgiving.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Job 1:21, The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away;
blessed be the name of the Lord.”
Four freedoms that every born again believer can be thankful for:
1. We should give thanks for the freedom that we have to worship and serve our God as we please.
We can serve our Lord and worship Him without looking over our shoulder here in America.
There are restricted nations out there that do not give freedom to worship God and believe Him.
Four freedoms that every born again believer can be thankful for:
1. We should give thanks for the freedom that we have to worship and serve our God as we please.
2. The freedom from your past.
2 Corinthians 5:17, Therefore, if any man is in Christ, he is a new creature. Old things have passed away. Look, all things have become new.
When Jesus applies His blood to us and forgives us our slate is wiped clean.
Jesus will give you a clean and fresh start.
We as Christians are free from our past. Come on, let's live the way. Not prideful or in vanity, but as His trophy of grace here.
Isaiah 43:25,
I, even I, am He who blots out your transgressions for My own sake, and will not remember your sins.
Through Jesus Christ there is freedom from your past sins and failures.
Psalm 103:12, as far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed our transgressions from us.
Acts 8:3, But Saul ravaged the church, entering house by house and dragging out both men and women and committing them to prison.
Acts 9:1-2,
The Conversion of Saul
9 Saul, still breathing out threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest, 2 and requested letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any there of the Way, either men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem.
Acts 9:20-21, Immediately he preached in the synagogues that the Christ is the Son of God. 21 All who heard him were amazed and said, “Is not this he who killed those who called on this name in Jerusalem, and came here with that intent, to bring them bound to the chief priests?”
Acts 9:29, And he spoke boldly in the name of the Lord Jesus and disputed against the Hellenists. But they tried to kill him.
Joshua 2; Hosea; John 4; John 8; Mark 5
No matter the sin, no matter our past, Jesus forgives us.
As you enter into Thanksgiving thank God for allowing you to worship and serve Him and also that you are free from your past.

Lunch with Pastor Larry, Thursday, 11-17-22. Rightly Dividing the Subject of Prayer (Prayer Promises for the Body of Christ) – Part 7. Episode 7 on www.podcastwithpastorlarry.com
Many Christians are hurt and confused because they prayed about something and God didn't answer their plea (restore my marriage, heal my loved one, meet this financial need, don't allow my child to make this mistake, etc.).
If people get what they asked for, they declare, "See, it works, prayer works." But if not, they begin to doubt God's promises and doubt God's faithfulness. They lament, "This prayer stuff just doesn't work like the Bible says."
The entire Bible is written for us, but it isn't all written to us (thisis evidenced in the fact that we worship on Sunday; eat meats that were forbidden, etc.).
In this Bible study, we will examine these prayer promises in their context. We will see that they were valid prayer promises, made to a specific group. We will see who they were made to, why they were made and even see their literal fulfillment in Scripture.

Becoming a Good Soldier in God’s Army
2 Timothy 2:3-4
Pastor Larry Luffman | Freedom Ministries
pastorlarry.org
Here in 2 Timothy 2:3-4, we get the idea of what a good soldier is. Paul is speaking to Timothy and he is about to be killed for his faith. This what like one of his last thoughts.
Soldiers know who is their enemy. They know who they are fighting against and they know what they are fighting for.
As Christians, we should know who our enemy is and what we are fighting for as well. Our enemy is Satan. Our war is not with each other as Paul said we do not fight against flesh and blood. Yes, we can get so mad and angry at others but they aren’t our enemy. We can get mad at God, but God isn’t working against you, He is for you and wants to equip you and I to become a good soldier in His army.
How can we prove ourselves to be good soldiers in God’s army?

There are a couple of different accounts of the disciples of Jesus encountering really bad storms.
Life has a way of bringing different types of storms, doesn’t it? Storms are a part of life. We all go through them. All of us can, at times, feel like a little canoe being tossed around in the middle of the vast ocean.
That may describe how you feel at the moment. Life’s storms are pounding your soul. You feel like you are not going to make it, and you’re going under. What should a person do? How do we handle the storms that come our way? How do we survive the storms in our life?
There are some very helpful principles from our text: We will see three areas on how you can survive the storms in your life…Before, During, and After the storm.

It was reported that Jesus was in the house here in the text of Luke 5, it is noted in verse 17, “…the power of the Lord was present to heal the sick.”
These men had an acute awareness of the opportunity to evangelize and reach out to others. They were taking advantage of the fact that evangelism and the power of Christ were already present and preeminent.
They had gathered in the house & around the house to see & hear what the Lord would do & say. They believed that if help was at all possible or that if any hope could be restored then it would be found where the Lord Jesus was present.
What’s it going to take for Christ to be displayed outside the church walls? Listen in to this mini-series and get Biblical answers to becoming a better witness for Christ.

Here in Romans 15, the Apostle Paul is writing to the church in Rome about this very issue of interpersonal relationships. He is starting with the premise that the weaker believers are in more need than those that are stronger and more grounded in the Word of God.
The church, which is made up of Christians, should be according to the scriptures living in a way that represents Christ. Not only outside the church but inside too. Sometimes we get so outwardly focused that we at times can fail at helping those that are right next to us. Yes, our own family.
I trust that this will help all of us get healthy inside so that we will have a greater impact in reaching others who are outside the church. After all, is it no wonder that those outside the church don't want anything to do with those inside the church because they hear about all the nonsense and hypocrisy that goes on inside the church? Let's become more Christ-like.

Many of the psalms give us insight into what was going through the heart and mind of David as he went through these troublesome times. This is like a journal of David’s thoughts and heart during some of the roughest times in his life.
David loved the Lord so much, yet many times David found himself surrounded by dark and difficult circumstances. He battled sin just like the rest of us. He often found himself in hard times and times of discouragement.
David is singing praise to God even in the middle of dark circumstances. How could he do that? How is that even possible? It is because he is contemplating the spiritual truths that we can read about in these two psalms.

Jesus said, figuratively speaking, that the Pharisees cleaned the outside of the cup – they made sure they looked good on the outside but inside they were a mess. They looked like a lot of churchgoers today – good, God-loving people, they have the bumper stickers, the t-shirts, jewelry, catch-phrases, they have the Christian lingo down, but it is just appearances.
God is calling those who are members of His church (the body) to be builders and not a bulldozer. There is a great word in the Bible for this – “edify.” It carries the idea of building something.
God’s desire is for us to be builders of people (our family, fellow church members, co-workers, spouse, and kids). How can you be a builder and not a bulldozer? Join me in this study of God's Word and we will learn this important truth together.

God’s plan for the believer is found in Galatians 5:22-23. This describes for us the character and attitude that Christ desires to produce in and through us.
Galatians 5:22-23 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, 23 meekness, and self-control; against such, there is no law. These qualities are wonderful, priceless commodities, but they won’t come to us while self (our flesh) is enthroned on our hearts. These fruits are displayed in us when we surrender our will to God’s will and allow Christ’s Spirit to flow through us freely.
Here is the problem: self always stands in defiance of surrender. When self is enthroned on our hearts, it restricts the flow of God’s Holy Spirit in and through us. If this happens, we begin to shrivel up spiritually.
How do you open up and allow Christ’s Spirit to flow through you? It takes a heart of surrender. What does a heart of surrender require? In this study we will learn from the Bible what a heart of surrender looks like and how to obtain it.
How do you stand strong as a Christian in this world with so many battles like temptation to compromise, sexual desires, giving in to chasing money & fame, following the crowd, etc.?
We are in a war, not a physical war as Christians, but a spiritual war. Ephesians 6:10-20 tells us about the war we are in and the battle that faces us all. How do we prepare? How do we get equipped with this armor of God and what does each piece represent and mean?
Join me as we not only discover the defensive pieces of armor that God has provided for us but as well as the offensive pieces that will help us to suit up and stand strong.

Are you generous when it comes to be gracious towards others? Have you been blessed with God's grace and mercy in your own life? What a blessing to know Jesus and that He is forgiving, kind, patient, longsuffering, loving, gentle, merciful, and extremely gracious. Yet, while we are great recipients of grace, we aren’t at times that good at giving grace to others or being glad when others receive God's grace. Maybe we think they don't deserve it or they won't appreciate what they are given.
In John 8:1-11. Not surprisingly, the Pharisees (religious people of that day) are in the "accuse and condemn" mode. It is so easy for Christians to become this way. We can become very cynical – ever watchful to find a flaw in others, a crack in their armor, or some sin and inconsistency. We can become very intolerant and caustic towards each other, but also towards those that don’t know Christ. Christians can get the attitude, "I hope they get what is coming to them."
There is another way to live life. Instead of delighting in accusation and condemnation (like Satan and the Pharisees), we delight in mercy (like God). Micah 7:18 - Who is a God like unto Thee, that pardoneth iniquity, and passeth by the transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He retaineth not His anger forever, because He delighteth in mercy.

Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there. What does it mean to be a man of God? What does that exactly look like? I am sure you have heard the expression, "He is a man's man". What does that mean and how is that different than being a man of God? We will look at a man in the Bible by the name of Nehemiah who fit that description of being God's man. How did he become that and what can we learn from this incredible story found in Nehemiah 13? We will get those answers and more on what it is to be a man of God.

You may be asking questions like “But what about today? Where is Christ today? Is Christ still working today?” And the answer is yes! In our time period, we are not seeing the outward, physical signs and wonders that were so prevalent during Christ’s earthly ministry. But please don’t think Christ has stopped working and is on an eternal siesta. Christ is very much at work.Did you realize that Jesus desires to do a great work in and through you? If you know the Lord, there is divine power at work in your life. Christ desires to do amazing things in your life, ultimately changing you into His glorious image.
But how can we see Jesus Christ do a mighty work, a work changing us from the inside out, enabling us to become the man or woman in Christ we are capable of being?
In this series, "Christ at Work in You", we will get answers to these questions.
Thanks for listening in on this new series entitled, "Living the Christ-Life".
What is living the Christ life? What does that look like in the Christian's day to day life? How do you get it and where does that actually come from? Does it come from obeying all the commandments in the Bible perfectly and why is it a struggle to do so?
Well, you might be approaching this whole subject the wrong way, have never been taught, or have been taught wrong. We are going to learn this once and for all together and grow from God's Word on what it means to live the Christ-life and live in victory. Thanks for listening.

Would you be described by others as a priest, Levite, or a Good Samaritan? If someone is nice to you or gives you something, is it a strain to be good or nice back? No, it isn't. It is easy to do this when it is reciprocated. Yet, if we are honest, we know that this isn't where the struggle is in our lives. The difficult challenge is to love those who don't love us back, care for those who don't care about us, to be compassionate on those who don't show compassion towards others. Yet, this is how God wants us to love, care, and show compassion. God wants us to display this to everyone regardless of how they treat you. Let's learn from this familiar and incredible parable from Luke 10 that Jesus told concerning the Good Samaritan.

Did Christ really rise from the dead? Is there an empty tomb? Was all of this just a great trick and mastery of some disciples? Did anyone see Jesus after He was risen, hear Him speak, eat with Him, or even touch Him? Were there any eyewitnesses and why was there a cover-up and efforts to stop this if Jesus was still dead? What would be the threat if He is still in a tomb? If Jesus is alive then it changes everything. Learn with us some facts regarding the truth that Christ is alive!

We fall in love; we fall out of love. Why is that so easy to do and why can't we be consistent at loving others? Doesn't everyone deserve to be loved? Need to be loved? Want to be loved? Of course, we all do, but not everyone is loved and at times we ourselves aren't that lovable, nor do we love others as like we should. So, what do we do? We go to the One who is the author of love and is constant in love and never wavers in His love towards us. It is Jesus. He teaches us how to love others and what we find is that love is the greatest gift we can give someone. Join me in John 15 to listen to Jesus teach the disciples this great truth of loving others as He does.

Luke 15 Jesus tells three parables. There is a lost coin, a lost sheep, and a lost son. What is Jesus trying to teach about lost things? What is He teaching us today in the church about how we should treat others and what kind of church should we be? The truth is that churches and Christians can become cliquish. Jesus tells a story about a son who broke up the clique and shows us a better way, a Christ-like way, in receiving and embracing others. Let's learn it so we can live it!

Webster defines the word "revival" as the state of being revived. RE – again, VIVE – life. Here in Nehemiah 8, there is a courageous group of Jews, led by the prophet Nehemiah, to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. Here in Nehemiah chapter 8, an incredible revival breaks out among the people. But what led to this revival? I am happy for these people, but can we experience that? What was true then is true today and what is always the center of revival is the Word of God. If a church or individual is to exude, display, and live out the life and vitality of Jesus Christ, it will only come through the Word of God. There are four responses that are the keys to experiencing a personal spiritual revival today for your life. Let's learn what they are.

This is part 3 of A New Year, A New Start, and A New You. It is the final installment of this message. Nothing would be the same for Noah and his family. Everything was gone and they had to start a fresh. There are some advantages to having a new start. We've learned that Noah and his family needed each other but we also learned that Noah made worship of God a priority. Let's discover together now with Pastor Larry and from Noah's example of how he didn't stay stuck on "the way things used to be". He moved forward and he didn't let the past define him.
What do we learn from Genesis chapter eight about Noah? After all, he and his family lost everything, everyone was gone, and now they had to start over. There are some advantages to having a new start. We learn that Noah and his family needed each other but we also learn that Noah made worship of God a priority. Let's discover together with Pastor Larry and from Noah's example of how he prioritized worship in his life. You might be surprised at what you learn and how you can apply this to your life today.
Are you struggling to know God? Do you know and understand what God wants for your life? Do you want to start over? Do you want to become a better, newer you? You can and God has help for us in His Word. Join Pastor Larry in Genesis chapter eight as he teaches us and takes us on this biblical journey to a "New You".
