There she obtained operational experience broadened by her work in various clinical areas, including emergency medicine, perioperative services, case management, emergency management, security, and hospital education. Kate Veronneau has built an unconventional career in sports, transitioning from a college basketball player at Brown University to a professional cyclist. After facing challenges in women's cycling, she returned to the workforce, holding roles at GSI Commerce and Vanguard before becoming Marketing Director at Thomson Bike Tours. In 2016, she joined Zwift, where she launched Zwift Academy, a virtual tryout program for women's pro cycling. The initiative gained significant media attention and supported Zwift’s commitment to women’s cycling. As Director of Women’s Strategy, Kate played a key role in launching the Tour de France Femmes avec Zwift in 2022, marking a milestone for women's cycling with record global viewership.

Dr. Megan Rosenstein** is the Associate Chief Medical Officer and Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at Atlantic Health System’s Overlook Medical Center in Summit New Jersey. Dr. Rosenstein came to Overlook from New York Presbyterian Weill Cornell Medical Center, where she completed her training in Anesthesiology with a focus on the care of high risk perinatal patients. In her time at Overlook, Dr. Rosenstein has actively participated in Atlantic Health’s system-wide Maternal Collaborative, Overlook’s Perinatal Safety and Quality Committee and spearheaded projects such as the Massive Transfusion Protocol, Opioid Reduction Task Force, protocoled response to Amniotic Fluid Embolism, and Enhanced Recovery after Cesarean Birth. Dr. Rosenstein is the New Jersey state representative for the Society for Obstetric Anesthesia and Perinatology, which recognized Overlook as one of the first designated centers of excellence in Obstetric Anesthesia care.
Isabel Pierre-Louis, BSN, RNC-OB, is a career-long advocate of equitable, accessible, high-quality healthcare for all. In her specialty of obstetrical nursing, Isabel is attuned to the needs of women and birthing people, including the unique experiences of those chronically exposed to healthcare inequities, like the BIPOC communities.

On our Earth Day edition of SEEChange we are talking about oyster farming and aquaculture with Karen Rivara, President of Aeros Cultured Oyster Co.
Karen was inspired to be a Marine Biologist while watching the “Undersea World of Jacques Cousteau” on television when she was 12.
Today, Karen operates Aeros Cultured Oyster Co. where she grows oysters commercially for food, providing oyster larvae to other farms and to environmental groups that grow oysters for restoration purposes.
Oysters are a critical part of the waterways because they are considered key stone organisms providing habitat for other sea life and also filter feeders that take nitrogen and carbon from water systems and turn that into delicious oyster tissue that can then be consumed.
Karen’s almost 40 year career in shellfish farming has given her a front row seat to the rapid effects of a changing climate on the waterways and the #oyster population. While her story is a wake-up call for the changes we all need to make to reduce our environmental footprint, it will also leave listeners hopeful for the future as she is seeing oyster populations and overall interest in improving the environment trending in the right direction.

We are honored to welcome the accomplished and inspiring City of Chicago Treasurer, Melissa Conyears-Ervin for this episode of SEEChange. She is the first elected treasurer in over 20 years that was not previously appointed. Serving since 2019, Treasurer Conyears-Ervin
· manages the city’s $10 billion investment portfolio,
· is responsible for maintaining records and accounts of the city’s finances and
· serves on four local pension boards with nearly $25 billion under management.
With an MBA in finance and career that has spanned both the public and private sector, she knows how to get things done. Having grown up on both the South and West of Chicago and the first in her family to go to college, she knows the struggles that these communities face and has identified the structural barriers that impede their ability to become financially empowered. Her upbringing and career path have shaped the social impact lens through which she looks at everything. As City Treasurer, she is in a unique position to help address these barriers and struggles through outreach, inclusion and investing for impact.
We were lucky enough to talk with Madame Treasurer the day after she was elected for her second term in office and got her first hand accounts of the highly publicized mayoral race as well.
She is a sophisticated, eloquent, and determined to make things better for the residents of the city. She loves to share her story and is a shining example and role model of what is possible for her young daughter and all of the youth of Chicago.

In this episode, we talk to Laura Bray, Founder and Chief Change Maker at Angels for Change. Laura shares the story of her nine year old daughter’s battle with cancer and her first-hand experience facing 3 drug shortages of life-saving medicines during her 9 months of treatment.
When faced with this life threatening situation, Laura took matters into her own hands and enlisted the help of friends and family to do whatever necessary to get her daughter the medicines she needed. Throughout their journey, they learned about a systemic problem with medication shortages for life saving pediatric cancer treatments and while she was able to fix the problem for Abby, she could not rest knowing that this was a pervasive issue that parents and children all across the country were facing every day. She knew something needed to change and so she created Angels for Change.

Lori Reynolds is a three-star United States Marine Corps Lieutenant General (ret) and board member who most recently developed, led and managed the Corp’s $12B global information portfolio spanning intelligence, IT, networking, cyber security, space, and information. She guides complex global organizations to manage large-scale risk and transform operational information into strategic business intelligence assets. As the most senior woman in the USMC for nearly a decade – and only the third woman to achieve her rank – she is recognized for her ability to identify and retain diverse, global, workforces to deliver innovation and value.
Lori served on the USMC Corporate Board with responsibility for strategic oversight of a $50B budget and global strategy, capabilities and missions. She regularly reported to and was accountable to Congressional committees on risk, cybersecurity and strategy. She serves on board transformation, cyber security, risk, and DEI committees.
In this episode, Dr. Kirschbaum discusses her academic journey and her current role as the Director of the Goddard Space Flight Center’s Earth Science Division at NASA, one of the largest earth science divisions in the world! She currently leads a research team that focuses on disaster research with a specific concentration on landslides and additionally serves as Chief of the Hydrological Sciences Laboratory which focuses on the movement and study of water via satellite observations and models. Dr. Kirschbaum is a Disaster Response Coordinator and works with other NASA centers and stakeholders globally to bring satellite data and products to bear during natural hazard events to improve situational awareness and inform decision making.
