There is ‘refreshment’ evident in forgiveness. This comes from the knowledge that we can be freed from our sins – as well as the guilt of our sins. Frequently, there are the consequences brought on by our shortfalls. How to negotiate those ‘land-mines’ is important to the believer.

Prayer suggestions:

  • Pray for someone who is in a different ‘age category’ than you.  Generations share common challenges.  Would you pray for them by name?
  • Pray for world leaders (1 Tim. 2:1-4) so that we might lead lives of peace.
  • Pray for the church at Germantown that we might be always looking for ways to share the good news of Jesus Christ.  (Re-read Luke 24:44-47.  It seems interesting to me that Luke, a Gentile, would be writing about the gospel being taken to ‘all nations,’ which would mean more than just the Jews.
  • Pray for strength to keep our motives pure and our actions consistent with our motives.

Prayer suggestions:

Prayer is – without doubt – a stabilizing factor in the life of a Christian. We bow to the Father, in the name of the Son, and the power of the Holy Spirit. We ask according to His will – with the confidence that we are receiving an answer. The answer we receive may not satisfy us at the time, but the knowledge that an all-wise Father is answering our prayers gives us reassurance.

Prayer suggestions:
Our prayers are offered from the sincerity of our heart and the confidence of our faith.  Our lives impact the receptivity on the part of the Father.  As we live and think of all the matters for which we pray, we keep a constant sense of the sovereignty of God… the sheer magnitude of His awareness of our situation… and the understood wisdom that He has in giving the answer He gives.  We bow in prayer.

Prayer suggestions:

Pray that as we journey through 2020, God will be the focus of our life and devotion. Since He is faithful, our prayer is that we may be faithful – individually and collectively. Pray for those who do not know Jesus Christ that they may come to see Him better through us. Pray that God will help us grow spiritually this year – one day at a time.
