My 8th and final episode of the Creative Conception podcast is a special one, where I interview my sister Josée. After having a straightforward first pregnancy with her daughter, Jo and her husband Greg, overcame a number of obstacles before eventually having their sons. Jo and I chat about the role her spiritual side played in her fertility journey after medical interventions were unsuccessful.

This episode is especially powerful for those looking for alternative ways to approach infertility for themselves or support others who are struggling.

Trigger warning: This episode includes topics such as artificial insemination, Grave's disease, IVF, and miscarriage.

It was such an honour to interview my friend Matt for episode 07. Matt and his wonderful husband Chad are married and live in Canada. They knew they wanted a family together and they knew the road to creating their family wouldn't be easy. Matt takes us through their whole journey which spans a few years and involves egg donation, surrogacy, and the rollercoaster of becoming new parents. Matt shares insights on setting boundaries, asking for help, and connecting with those that have gone before. Thank you Matt, it was a delight chatting with you.

Trigger warnings for episode 07, Matt's story includes egg donation, surrogacy, failed transfers, and a congenital heart issue.

For my sixth episode of the Creative Conception podcast, I interview my friend Heidi. If you've ever met Heidi, you would describe her as warm, giving, kind and thoughtful. She's one of the most naturally maternal women I've met, which shows once again that fertility challenges can happen to anyone.

Heidi has experienced and overcome a huge number of fertility obstacles and shares her journey so openly and honestly. Her strength and determination are inspiring.

When we recorded this episode Heidi was years into trying to conceive  her second baby. I'm overjoyed to share that she has since announced that she is pregnant. I cannot wait to meet this little bub after hearing this journey.

Trigger warning for this episode as it contains stories involving: miscarriages, IVF, ectopic pregnancy, and post natal depression.

In episode 5 (which was meant to be 6 ;), I chat with Narelle about her incredible story of becoming a single mum via sperm donor. I've known Narelle for over 10 years and she's funny, bright, insightful, and courageous.  In her journey, she shares how she kept ending up with partners who didn't share her desire to start a family, and how she decided to have a baby on her own. Her story is one of many challenges both before and after having her beautiful son, and she wouldn't change any of it. Narelle offers guidance on how to best support others going through the same process.

Trigger warning: This episode includes mentions of sperm donors, IVF, miscarriage, and post natal depression.

The audio quality isn't the best in the episode, I apologise as there's some echoing that I couldn't get rid of.

In this episode, I have the absolute pleasure of chatting with Cassie Silver, former Channel 7 journalist and current media company Boss Lady. Cassie is 2 years deep in her IVF journey and has plenty to share from her experiences.

We chat about what Cassie's been through so far including many rounds of IVF, hyperstimulation syndrome, and embryo sweepstakes. We also touch on the importance of mental health, trusting your medical team, and finding a good source of information to educate yourself.

If you enjoy this episode as much as I enjoyed creating it, definitely check out Cassie's podcast - What to Expect When You're Injecting. It's educational, inspirational, and hilarious.

Sophie was the first person outside my family to share her fertility journey with me. Over the years, she has been an amazing support and mentor to me while going through infertility.

From experiencing in fertility clinics in 4 countries and IVF in Australia, France, and Switzerland she has incredible insights to share. In this episode we chat about going through many rounds of IVF, the importance of testing both partners for fertility issues, considering surrogacy, when to get a second opinion, and how her partner always knew they would end up with children.

Grab a cuppa and enjoy the journey!

My sister is an amazing mum to four kids, two girls and two boys...and she managed to only give birth twice.  She had an incredible family creation journey and we chat about all the ups and downs along the way - from being a single mum, to adopting her partner's child, to struggling to conceive children together, then becoming pregnant with twins.  She has some crazy stories to share and profound insights to help anyone in a similar situation.

Episode 01 is an overview of my fertility journey through alternative health supplements to six years of injections, doctors appointments, different clinics, egg collections and embryo transfers to egg donation in South Africa.

For this episode I invited my sister to be on the podcast and ask me insightful questions.  I share my mental and physical challenges as well as some of the strategies that helped me the most.

In a few months time, I will upload a follow up podcast specifically on the role of coaching through my journey, as I didn't go into that in this episode.

Enjoy!
