Oh so much, we tackle those in just the first 15 minutes, so listen to the rest for a really good time (and to hear about trying bad ideas, connecting with people who are better than you and questioning what better is anyway, and hanging out with a kid for a day)

We riff about the merits of artistic perseverance and the need for reality checking yourself about your creations.

We muse about the impact that art communities can have on our relationships with our pains and our bodies.

We talk about the joys of natural spaces.

Amanda Kuron is back with a real-life example of taking a chance and it working not at all as she planned, but better.

Our collective thoughts - Stay open - hold hope, hold curious, be-friend uncertainty, and lean into the agency you do have in life (hint, it's plenty)

Plus, we get to the body feels and how to identify what physical sensations certain emotions show themselves as.

Fun quotes and ideas you'll encounter - "Sunday-scaries", the cost of just sticking it out, energy conservation can mean different work not less sometimes, "something being 'common' is not the same as it being 'normal'".

Things we mention:

The Book of Joy - Dali Lama XIV, Desmond Tutu, Douglas Abrams (around min. 13)

Hormone intelligence - Aviva Romm, MD (around min 18 - 21)

candles that smell like flowering daphne and sweet basil. No link but I vote to go to your local maker's markets/women's markets, etc...

Amanda Kuron and I had an excellent talk about the windy way life drops you into one job or another, the way it feels when you actually like what you do, and how you can get there.

She's an excellent coach who focuses on women and their careers, and she's a beast at supporting those in the helping professions (think social work, nursing, non-profit, etc.) transitioning into the corporate work force. Since we nerd out on that together, we also dive into what coaching really does when you break it down.

Since she was just so fun to talk to we went way over our time limit and decided to break it into two episodes. Enjoy part on of this two part-er, and check out Amanda here:
