Phoenix Rescue Mission is a Christian nonprofit that exists to share hope, healing and God’s love with all who are hurting in the Valley.

Our mission is to provide Christ-centered, life-transforming solutions to people facing hunger, homelessness, addiction and trauma.

That mission proceeds through a wide variety of programs that address immediate and long-term needs. Taken together, these advance our God-given vision: Love, hope and transformation to every neighbor in the Valley.

The centerpiece of their ministry is a residential recovery program for men, women and women with children who need help overcoming one or more life-controlling crises. By addressing our guests’ physical, emotional, financial and spiritual needs, they are well-prepared to lead positive, productive lives once they leave the Mission and become a contributor to our community.

The Nations Are Here!

God is moving refugees and international students from unreached people groups to our neighborhoods. This presents an extraordinary opportunity for them to experience God’s kindness and mercy through you.

This is a strategic moment. God has brought people from unreached nations into close proximity to the Church, but without intentional effort, they may remain unreached. That’s why GoTEN has created a meeting place where you can connect with these neighbors, building relationships that bring the hope of Jesus to the nations.

Across the world, countless people struggle daily to find clean water.

But even more pressing is the spiritual drought that leaves billions without the hope of Jesus.

You are called to care for both, offering clean water for today and living water for eternity.

Bringing clean water and the Gospel to those who have gone without.

Quenched is more than a charity—it’s a movement driven by an unwavering commitment to meet both physical and spiritual needs in regions where clean water and the message of Jesus are scarce. Serving in remote communities, we face challenges head-on, working alongside local leaders to bring hope to those who need it most.

Clean water opens doors for lasting discipleship.

Each well we establish becomes a gathering place where local pastors form lasting connections, fostering discipleship within communities. By meeting physical needs, we also open hearts to the message of the Gospel. As these communities receive water, they also receive the opportunity to encounter Jesus in a meaningful, life-changing way.

With me today Greg Nettle who is the President of Stadia, a global church-planting organization dedicated to starting churches that reach the next generation at spiritual risk. At 23 years old, Greg planted his first church in Dublin, Ireland. Previously, Greg led the RiverTree Movement in Ohio for 25 years, growing it from 100 to over 3,000 people and helping start 50 churches. A visionary leader, Greg has helped Stadia grow from supporting a handful of church plants to starting hundreds worldwide each year. His adventurous spirit has taken him to Everest Basecamp, Kilimanjaro, Cotopaxi, and Whitney, where he has climbed to raise funds for children in need. An author, speaker, and consultant, Greg has co-authored Small Matters, One Of, and Disciples Who Make Disciples. He shares insights at gregnettle.com and @gregnettle. Above all, Greg and his wife, Julie, are committed to leading their children, Tabitha and Elijah, to fall deeply in love with Jesus.

STARTING A CHURCH takes courage, navigating the process shouldn’t be a solo journey. We walk alongside leaders ready to start new churches—offering coaching, assessments, training, and relational support at no cost to them. Why? Because we believe in removing barriers, not adding them.

*While every church plant still requires its own funding, our services are made possible by a generous network of partners who invest in healthy, multiplying churches.

IT’S YOUR CALLING. You understand Jesus’ unique ask on your life. We’re here to make the journey with you and help you start with firm foundations so you can make an impact for the long haul. From Discovery to Startup and beyond, you get to decide what to do with the recommendations, resources, and relationships we’ll equip you with.

In The Beginning

Our story is really His-story.

Visionaries, sensing the leading of God, from Christian Churches in Phoenix gave birth to UCYC (United Christian Youth Camp) in 1952 with the purchase of 112 acres in the tall pines of Prescott. The first buildings, known now as The Pines were erected in 1953. Log Cabin Village, now known as The Summit was constructed in 1988.

But UCYC is more than just buildings. It’s our core values that drive us.

We pioneer fun, quality experiences in a safe outdoor setting where the gospel is presented in loving relationships.

Over the years we have partnered with churches to meet the needs of young people in both summer and winter as UCYC explodes with programs we plan. In addition, a variety of groups rent UCYC in order to create space away from the normal pace of life.

UCYC is a non-denominational, non-profit organization, affiliated with the Independent Christian Churches throughout Arizona and Nevada. We are governed by an Executive Board of Pastors and business professionals who are passionate about seeing lives transformed into the image of Christ. Locally the camp is lead by Executive Director, Joe Zizz, and his team.

We get life in ministry.
We make it easy and fun for you to camp or retreat.
We understand the power of a shared experience in an outdoor setting.
We love life transformation – not just in our guests but in our own community.

But – don’t take our word for it. Watch the stories of the impact camp has on leaders, pastors, parents, and campers, and scan the real-time, real-life reviews (below) posted on Google and Facebook.

What church leaders tell us is that “we get them”. They feel valued, understood and appreciated…and when they leave us – they feel encouraged.

How is this possible? Frontline joys and scars. Many of us have worked in churches, ministries and youth groups. We bring your perspective to all we do.

Hope Partners is an International ministry with a simple mission:

To rescue children and transform their lives through acts of compassion in Jesus’ name.

How do They Do It?

HPI creates “centers of hope” in some of the most impoverished parts of the world to care for the most vulnerable among us.

A Hope Center is…

A place to learn and grow. It’s a place of joy and, most importantly, it’s a place of HOPE.

Each of the Hope Centers is a home base for vulnerable children, providing them a safe place of refuge from abuse, drugs, and sex trafficking. In addition to safety, we provide consistent nutritious food, education through college or vocational school, and a path to hope for their future.

At the center of it all is the chance to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ.

Love & Truth Network is led by Garry & Melissa Ingraham, who both left LGBTQ+ identities to follow Jesus. They later married, have two sons, and founded Love & Truth Network in 2013 to help more people experience freedom in Christ.

Many studies reveal that the majority of Christians suffer from sexual and relational brokenness, but most churches lack effective strategies for leading their congregations into safe, transformational recovery.

According to Scripture, sexual, relational, & identity wholeness by God’s standards is both possible and readily available for everyone through surrender to Jesus.

Love & Truth Network empowers churches, Christian communities, & individuals to experience God’s restoration by providing leadership training, teaching, and discipleship resources in the context of a safe, loving community.

The idea for Team Expansion was born in 1978, during a small prayer meeting at a Bible college in Eastern Kentucky. There were eight guys in a crowded dorm room and all of them signed their names on a world map. Our president, Doug Lucas, happened to sign beside the country of Uruguay. Four years later, Team Expansion fielded its first team, to Uruguay, by God’s grace.

For the next 40 years, Team Expansion continued to send out teams to unreached parts of the world. As we learned more about disciple-making movements and multiplication, Team Expansion evaluated and shifted strategies and tools. But our goal was always the same: to take the Gospel to people who had never heard it before.

But over the years, God has grown our team and refined our approach. In 2018 we had 300+ missionaries serving in 40+ countries, we are multiplying disciples and churches among the unreached on a huge scale. With strategies like Disciple-Making Movements, Community Health Evangelism, and Media to Movement, we are seeing an unprecedented response.

For over 35 years the Christian HolyLand Foundation has been focused on educating and advocating for issues concerning Israel and Palestine, both in the Middle East and in the United States. Israel is a nation full of beautiful and traumatic history. It has been a place of great religious significance as well as great turmoil and suffering. CHLF wants to help bring grace, peace, understanding through Christ to this incredible land and its people.

In the Middle East, CHLF works with local churches and pastors to disciple, encourage, and grow the local Christian community through evangelism, church planting, discipleship, relief and development ministries, and many more outreach programs.

In the United States, CHLF educates on and advocates for the many complex issues facing the Holy Land today. We offer programs for churches, small groups, or other ministries to help your church better understand these challenges. We also organize and provide trips to the Holy Land to help educate and advocate through travel by spending time in communities, providing authentic cultural engagement, showing the reality of peoples' daily lives and visiting biblical sites with experts, theologians, and historians.

Are you ready to be changed forever? We're delighted that you have decided to take this crucial next step of going on a mission trip! Remember, you're representing not just CCV, but the Lord Jesus Christ. And so we want to remind you that at CCV, our mission is to win people to Christ, to train believers to become disciples, and to send disciples to impact the world. I’m sure you know that was Jesus final words to hid disciples and to us today when he finished his earthly mission. It is known as the Great Commission.

God has called a lot of different people on this trip with you. You are needed. Your skills are valued, but they're not more valuable than what the team has to offer. So we want to encourage to function as a team and just take good care of one another.

Someone once asked me, what is the single biggest barrier to a successful mission trip? Without hesitation, I said, understanding the culture of the region of the world that you are visiting. Imagine the world divided into three regions North, East and South. CCV goes to all three of those regions. So it is critical that the team understands the people who live in those regions.

Steve and Terri Vogel, founders of Thrive Arizona, launched the ministry in 2016 to address foster care needs, prevention efforts, and support for aged-out youth. Their initiative grew from their personal experience as foster parents, where they noticed a gap in resources available to biological families.

Thrive Arizona now provides essential services like housing and counseling to help both foster youth and families working toward reunification. In this conversation, the close partnership between Christ’s Church of the Valley (CCV) and Thrive Arizona is highlighted, with a shared commitment to aiding vulnerable children and families involved in the foster care system.

The Vogels were foster parents for six years, and they had up to 18 kids in their home at one time, and they also have adopted a little girl out of the foster care system.

Noel Hutchinson’s passion for missions began in his childhood, growing up in a church with a strong mission focus in Toronto. His early exposure to missionaries in Africa, combined with stories from his grandparents who were missionaries in Argentina, planted the seeds of a calling that would later flourish.

Initially pursuing a career in automotive mechanics, Noel had plans to join the Air Force’s search and rescue team. However, a visit from a Bible college group led him to shift his path, earning a degree in theology. He later completed his mechanics license, closing that chapter before a spontaneous trip to Thailand with a missionary friend transformed his life.

During his time in Thailand, an encounter in a hill tribe village stirred something deep within him. Though he couldn’t understand the language, Noel felt God’s undeniable call to return and serve in Thailand. After marrying his wife, Marnie, the couple returned and served two terms as missionaries, fulfilling the call that had been nurtured since his youth.

Angel Barnett joins us today to talk about the amazing work happening at the Short Creek Dream Center, a project that started a few years ago and has since been making a tremendous impact in the community.

To give you some background, our connection with Angel and the Dream Center is deeply rooted in a shared mission to transform lives. The Phoenix Dream Center, founded in 2006 by Pastor Tommy Barnett, serves over 40,000 people each month through a variety of programs dedicated to renovating lives and spreading the love of Jesus in the inner city. Their comprehensive life recovery program supports individuals recovering from substance abuse, mental illness, and trauma, offering housing, education, and counseling to help them rebuild their lives.

Our partnership with Angel and the Dream Center showcases how God brings different ministries together for a greater purpose. Today, Angel will discuss how these partnerships have grown into a powerful movement at the Short Creek Dream Center and how you can become a part of this life-changing work.

Matthew Ellison, who joined us in a previous episode, has become a very good friend of mine. We're walking through life together, experiencing many new and exciting things that God is doing through his ministry, Sixteen:Fifteen.

I think I mentioned this in our last episode, his books had a profound impact on what we are doing at CCV. They really made me rethink the purpose of missions and why we're here. Matthew's books - "When Everything is Missions" and "Conversations When Everything is Missions", had a huge impact on me and our work.

Matthew Ellison, is the President and Church Missions Coach at Sixteen: Fifteen, he served as a missions pastor at a mega-church for nine years, helping them transition from a reactive approach to world missions to a proactive one. During this time he realized that there was a growing wave of churches no longer content to only support missions, instead, they desired active global engagement. This led to the founding of Sixteen:Fifteen. Since 2004 he has been coaching churches across the United States, helping them to develop missions vision and strategy that fulfills the biblical mandate while taking into account their unique gifts, talents, and passions as local bodies of believers.

We're about to take GameLife to the next level by discussing unreached people groups. We've touched on this before, but just to recap: there are over 17,000 different people groups worldwide. Out of the roughly 8 billion people on Earth, one-third belong to what's known as "unreached" people groups. This means they have never heard the name of Jesus and have no access to the gospel or anyone who knows about it. For many of them, the name of Jesus is completely foreign.

We're excited to talk about a project we're currently involved in. DJ will be leading a team to Southeast Asia, where we'll be engaging with various groups. We’re eager to see how God will work in that region.

I met Anthony about a year ago, and over the past 12 months, I've been continually amazed by his life and ministry. Anthony retired from his commercial career 14 years ago to fully dedicate himself to ministry work. Around 12 years ago, during his tenure as the executive secretary of the Full Gospel Business Men's Fellowship in Malaysia, God opened his eyes to a profound need: countless people did not have access to His Word in their mother tongue. Anthony's dedication and the impact of his ministry are truly inspiring.

Stadia Church Planting Podcast: "Hey friends, I'm Greg Nettle, a stadia church planting where our vision is for every child on the planet to have a church. We do that by helping you start thriving, growing, multiplying churches for the next generation. This podcast episode. Larrie Fraley on the podcast Larrie was a founding member of Christ Church of the Valley in Peoria, Arizona. And today that church, Christ Church of the Valley, reaches more than 50,000 people every week. Crazy growth and impact. Today's episode is very special to me because I have a dear friend as our guest today, along with another guest whom I will introduce shortly. Matt MacClean has been with CCV since 2009, and I’m excited for him to share his journey with us. He founded an organization called Quenched, addressing the dire need for clean water in Nepal.

Nepal is a beautiful country, known for its breathtaking landscapes and rich culture, but it is also home to millions facing a severe water crisis. Matt saw this need and took action to meet it. It’s an honor to have him with us today to discuss his incredible work.

Over 1.2 million children are trafficked each year for the purpose of sexual

exploitation.

Conservative estimates say, of that number, over 400,000 are boys. Tragically,

there is little help or hope for boys anywhere on the planet. Blackbox International was

created to change that.

Blackbox seeks to bring healing to male survivors of sex trafficking

through holistic aftercare. We began this critical work in the Dominican Republic and

continue to provide care for boys and young men in our safe-home. We are learning from

this first initiative and developing a model for holistic aftercare that can be reproduced

globally.

Mary is no stranger to the podcast, having been previously featured in episode 13 of season one. She embarked on her journey of service after accepting Christ and sharing His message through local mission work. Originally starting her studies at Kenyatta University, Mary's path took a turn when she met a young worship leader whose stories intrigued her. This encounter led her to the Mary Valley in Nairobi, Kenya, home to one of the oldest and largest slums in the city. Witnessing extreme poverty firsthand, Mary felt a calling to devote her life to helping those in need.

Living among the impoverished community, Mary was shocked by the unhealthy and dangerous conditions people endured. Determined to make a difference, she co-founded Missions of Hope (MOHI) alongside Dr. Wallace Kamau. CCV has long supported MOHI, not only financially but also through active participation in serving the community. Mary's dedication to her mission has inspired countless individuals, and listeners can learn more about MOHI's impactful work by visiting MOHIAfrica.org.

TCM comes alongside Christians who are leading in their own countries and have a passion for reaching their people for Christ. Through our institute we can develop a Christian leader for a fraction of the cost it would take to send a U.S. missionary to that same country. Since these individuals already know the cultures and languages, they are able to have successful ministries and are equipped for a lifetime of service.

When you think of the 3.2 billion people who haven’t heard the name of Jesus, the task of sharing God’s love with people from every nation can seem overwhelming, even impossible! Fortunately, God never intended for us to complete the task on our own.

Never in our lifetime has the goal of reaching the over 3 billion unreached seemed so attainable. Why is the goal possible? Media. Through creating culturally relevant media, you share Jesus without borders or boundaries.

Rick Wappel would be in my book, if I wrote one, called the most interesting people I have ever met. Truly a believer that most of us would want to be. A prayer giant, and loves people like no one I have ever met. Today we will take a peak into this man’s life. He is part of our mission partner, called rescued not arrested, Arizona ministry that provides hundreds of church services, one on one mentoring, mail mentoring and baptisms each month.

RNA has distributed over 750,000 English and Spanish NIV Bibles to hundreds of Chaplains and missionaries internationally reaching millions incarcerated. The word is spreading fast and more demand for free Bibles with free shipping is being requested weekly from prison chaplains and missionaries. Praise God!!! Rescued Not Arrested is operated by 100% volunteers, another miracle!! dozens of volunteers including me serve full time for free. All donations are used for the mission cause and majority of the funds are used to provide the Bibles.

Zondervan publishers has partnered with RNA providing all our Bible needs at a very reasonable rate. In addition, RNA partnered with DES-Governor Ducey’s 2nd chance program to help inmates integrate into society successfully by providing them employment, housing, and accountability resources before they are released.

With me today is Larry Burek. Larry resides in Scottsdale, Arizona, with his wife, Becky, of almost thirty years. His son and daughter-in-law currently serve at a church in Orange County, California.

Larry and I have become very good friends over the last 2 or 3 years. Today, we'll discuss medical missions at CCV and what is happening in that ministry within CCV. How is God moving in our church?

Larry was fortunate to be raised not just in a home focused on Christ but also one where missionaries were common guests at the Monday morning breakfast table as they traveled from church to church, raising support.

In the middle of a pre-dental program at the University of Michigan, Larry felt led to partner with a missionary dentist in the Central African Republic to affirm his vocational calling and discover Jesus anew. After returning to the US the following year, he transferred to and graduated from Grace College. During that period, his sister unexpectedly died while studying to become a medical missionary. Following a short break, he completed his M.Div at Talbot Theological Seminary and started serving in local churches and para-church organizations in Southern California.

Believing that God was calling him in an entirely different direction, Larry furthered his education at Pepperdine University School of Law before embarking on a 34+ year legal career throughout California, working for small and mid-size businesses and litigating complex cases. Even then, he worked with his local church, Baja Christian Ministries, and International Justice Missions, providing legal advice and guidance for ongoing projects in Rwanda. In addition, he served as the President and Chairman of the Board of Make-A-Wish Foundation of Orange County, where he worked with critically ill children.

Larry moved to the Phoenix area in 2017 while continuing to practice law in California. He quickly became involved with Christ’s Church of the Valley and its missions department, which, in turn, led to multiple mission trips and his involvement with Rocky Point Medical Clinic, The Neighborhood Christian Clinic, Missions of Hope International, and Liberte Live. The combination of his passion for medical missions and the organizational and leadership skills he acquired as a lawyer prepared him to lead CCV’s medical-dental-vision-mental health mission outreaches here, near, and far.

Today is a special episode focusing on our mission partners currently in Israel and going through the holocaust of this generation. I am speaking with one of the leaders CCV supports, Saleem Hanna. Saleem and his wife, Andera, are a couple who are leading a church in Nazareth. He is an excellent communicator in an Arab-Israeli church. He is very active in the churches and ministries in Israel, helping forge unity within multi-church backgrounds and promoting a Biblical ministry model.

Saleem and Andera are part of the Christian Holy Land Foundation, which partners with six pastoring couples native to the Galilee region of northern Israel. As church planters, they serve both established congregations and 'home' churches. They are also active in specialized ministries such as Women's programs and trainings, Believer reconciliation events, youth groups, and more.

Since 2005, they have expanded from 6 ministries in 5 different communities to working with two dozen groups in nearly 30 villages and towns. CCV is proud that God has allowed us to have played a part in their growth.

In Joshua 1:9, the LORD calls you to be courageous – not because you are a gifted leader, strategist, organizer, communicator, motivator or fighter – because the Lord will be with you wherever you go.

Today I talk with a Jonathon Roe a long time good friend who helps faith based Non-profits fight back.

Jonathan Roe has been a non-profit coach and trainer in AZ for more than a decade, and is the Founder and CEO of Venture 1:9. Venture 1:9 (based on Joshua 1:9) guides non-profits to a place of courage, health, sustainability and impact, through free training, coaching and granting.

After graduating college in Boston, Jonathan spent 17 years in church leadership, pastoring two local churches near Washington, D.C. and Columbus, Ohio. In early 2008, he moved to Phoenix to launch and lead Mission Increase AZ (MI AZ), a ministry to strengthen Christian non-profit organizations. Under Jonathan’s leadership, MI AZ engaged hundreds of non-profit organizations, granted more than $2m for community and Kingdom impact, and built a close-knit family of Christian non-profit leaders.

Jonathan earned a Master of Divinity degree from Wesley Theological Seminary and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. His doctoral work focused on ministry management and leadership, combined with developing strategy and leading organizational change.

Today I talk with my good friend John Moore. He loves generosity as much as our sr. pastor and has committed his life to the principles he has learned from scripture. We will find out a little about his life.

John founded John Moore Associates (JMA) in 1997 with a passion to both serve his community and help his community serve others through the causes that matter to them. His diligent stewardship is in part refined by his military experience, which instilled in him a strong sense of discipline and strategic thinking. John handed off the leadership of JMA to Brian Cochran in 2022 but continues to lend his wisdom to the JMA team as a consultant. An avid flyer since the age of 16, John has enjoyed flying both airplanes and gliders and spending time with his wife of over 40 years, Connie.

John believes that the best financial meetings have nothing to do with money. He knows that our most valuable asset is people.

John would say that these are his values and the values of the company he founded.

Relationships
Our community is our most valuable asset. We put others before ourselves and are committed to collaboration, loyalty, and trust-building with all clients, vendors and coworkers, knowing that together we can help create more fulfilling futures.

Wisdom
Our expertise is only as deep as the wisdom we seek. We continually pursue a greater knowledge of our trade, our clients, and the world, combined with timeless and transcendent principles of the bible, so that we may provide fruitful counsel.

Service
We bring a servant’s heart to all we do, with caring, attentive, proactive, and responsive service to our clients and colleagues. We consistently find real solutions to clients’ challenges to optimize stewardship.

Generosity
We believe that sharing God’s resources and encouraging a life of giving will have a deep and lasting impact on families, our communities, and our own joy.

For thousands of years humanity has struggled with the riddle of just how to help those with addiction, but meaningful treatment was elusive in the early 1900s. A group of desperate alcoholics developed a spiritual answer to what was newly being called a disease. We know them as AA.

Dr Don Middleton is a board-certified in family medicine and has practiced in Arizona for 30 years. He’s currently on the medical staff of the internationally acclaimed metals, behavior health of Wickenburg and medical Director for a group of men’s health clinics. A lifelong Arizona and he developed his love for science and nutrition at an AU And Madison at Western University of health science. He considers the entire world, his family in Christ, but is attended CCV for over 20 years.

Whether you’re battling addiction or have a loved one battling addiction Don is committed to take the principles of AA along with modern Christian faith approach to help educate and guide addicts through recovery. In his book Don provides a perfect balance of faith and scientific knowledge to what and why addicts struggle with and go through. This book along with the work book has helped countless people to recovery.

Sasha is a missionary that CCV supports, he is the founder of and CEO of the International Center of Fatherhood in Ukraine. And his ministry was all about helping fathers in his country of Ukraine. Many of those fathers work away from the home for extended periods of time, therefore creating a void for fathers. And his ministry focuses on that with his team there. And then everything changed.

We interviewed Sasha in Episodes 3 & 4 when the war broke out. Now, 18 months later we will hear what life is like now in Ukraine.

In February of 2022, the Ukraine war broke out and his life changed and his ministry changed. We interviewed Sasha in Episodes 3 & 4 when the war broke out. Now, 18 months later we will hear what life is like now in Ukraine.

And he's here with me today in the studio. Well, from the first time since the war broke out. And so we're going to hear from him today.

Retirement is generally recognized as a part of the American Dream. Not mine by the way.  We grow up, we work, we retire, and we die. It’s just another part of the rhythm of life. But is the hope of an easy life of retirement something Christians should cling to?

Not according to Mike McClain a long time friend who is as active as ever leading people to Christ.

The model that the culture seems to point toward for retirement (at least if I can trust the ads on television) is one of complete leisure, once I quit working, for the rest of my life.

Yet even before sin came into the world, God told us to work,  (Gen 1:28). Idleness and dissipation do not appear to be a part of the divine design for humans.

In fact, the model of retirement that is built around limitless leisure seems to undermine God’s design for human existence.

Mike will share how God is using him in a time that world says to retire.

Today Julia Hernandez shares with us her preparation to lead a trip of 8 CCV goers as they head to Ancona, Italy to talk with people there about Jesus Christ. We will explore Zume Discipleship training (found in our shownotes).

Matthew 28:18-20 - "Jesus came and spoke to the eleven disciples, saying: 'All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and surely, I am with you always, to the very end of the age.'

The act of teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you through Christ with others in public settings using Wisdom and considering all culturally, socially, and legally permissible techniques is known as biblical street evangelism.
Our personal opinions are irrelevant, and as Christians, we must always be prepared to accept the Truth, even when it contradicts everything we have been taught and believed to be true up until the moment the Truth arrives to upend all previous false beliefs. As Christians, we should embrace the Truth rather than be fearful of it!

Acts 20:28-30 NIV

Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood. I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.

Today we will be talking with Rich Wooten, Director Safety and Security Director Safety and Security at CCV. Rich has been with CCV for 6 years. Prior to that Rich was the Security Manager Security Manager for the National Football League in New York, New York, Rich also retired from as a Police Detective for City of Phoenix after 26 years.

The vast majority of churches won't experience a terrorist or shooter attack, but other situations are more frequent, and church leaders need to have a security plan and staff in place to protect their flock. Alarm systems, security personnel, and video surveillance are simply a few components of the solution.

If CCV or any church doesn't feel safe and secure, they can forget the purpose of your church and the message of God. Every church needs a security strategy that outlines what the staff, church leaders, security personnel, and our attendees should do in case of emergency.

Today's episode is with Mark Benson, the West Regional Director of Partner Relations for the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. Now, Mark actually living here in phoenix and attends CCV.

I met mark a few year ago and over the years we have become good friends.

The Museum of the Bible is located in Washington, D.C., and houses artifacts and manuscripts related to the Bible. David Green’s connection to the Museum of the Bible comes into play through Hobby Lobby funding the museum.

Check out: https://www.museumofthebible.org/

He no stranger to the church. Mark’s father was a third-generation Lutheran minister, retiring at 86 years old. (He went home on January 1, 2022.) Mark did not feel the calling to be a minister, but as a capitalist, and Mark’s ministry has been to the people he served in business. Mark and his wife Mary owned or operated 16 new car dealerships around the country. They were also the managing partners for: Ford, Honda, Lincoln, Infiniti, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Jeep, Chrysler, Hyundai and Ram.

While the owners of Honolulu Ford, they boldly invested in the Church. The FCC approved an on-demand station at Cox-cable: JOHN 316. We filled our Christian station with 9 local churches, with 60,000 Hawaiian home tuning in each month. Much like Hobby Lobby, In-and-Out, Mark closed his dealerships on Sunday to honor the Sabbath. https://youtu.be/t7K6s6Cxfes and sales exploded.

Now, Hawaii is his mission field, and the last year Mark owned a dealership.

Mark has worked for the Museum of the Bible for 2.5 years.

The pervious 5-8 years Mark would wake up at 2:00 AM and ask God, am I using my talents the way that you would like me to?

The Benson family has a passion for missions. He partnered with Rotary International to drill a well in Naberera, Tanzania. It did not turn out the way that he thought it would. "We hit water 147 meters down, but the pastor there was afraid that his Massai Tribe would kill him and take the well over. He waited for 10 years to put the well head on and start pumping water. Mans timing is different than Gods!"

This episode is a little bit different from the others. My experience in the early years of CCV is discussed in an interview with Mark Moore, who serves as the teaching pastor at CCV. We will discuss the origins of CCV as well as a few of the significant events that have taken place along the way to bring CCV to one of the greatest churches in the United States. However, the most important aspect of this discussion will be how God used one man, along with a few other men and families, had the faith and made the sacrifices necessary to lead us to where we are now. It has been an adventure from the beginning and will continue to be one as long as we continue to give all of the credit to God, who has used us to carry out his plan.

Hiking the paths that Jesus and his followers walked is the topic of discussion for today with CCV teaching Pastor Mark Moore and me. The year 2018 marked the beginning of hiking in the Holy Land. Mark Moore and I have had it on our lists of things to do for quite some time. Even after we've done it a total of five times, it's still the highlight of the year. Every year, twelve men are picked to embark on a pilgrimage that covers over 100 miles of hiking through the holy region. It is beyond reasonable doubt that Jesus and his followers traveled across the same ground, and it is quite probable that we will travel in the same areas as they did. We started our trek at Nazareth and made our way up to the north coast of the Sea of Galilee. Along the way, we stayed in a variety of hotels, the most of which were in the style of bed-and-breakfasts. Join Mark and I as we attempt to describe what it was like, along with some amazing transformations, and we hope you'll join us.

Our guest today is an amazing leader and disciple-maker. Carl Gaede, leads Tutapona, a Christ-centered organization that facilitates emotional healing through mental health services for people impacted by war and conflict.

Tutapona’s vision is to bring healing and hope in order to restore relationships, build peaceful communities and glorify Christ.

In 2008, Carl and Julie Gaede, psychotherapists from Wisconsin, moved to Northern Uganda. With a passion to help people affected by the emotional impact of war find emotional healing from their experiences, Tutapona - a Swahili word meaning, ‘We will be healed’ - was born.

Uganda had suffered years of civil war and unrest at the hands of the Lord’s Resistance Army, leaving widows and orphans in its wake. The physical and emotional scars ran deep, but Carl & Julie held hope that a community, once unified by pain, can become a community unified in healing through group-based mental health programming.

Today, Uganda is one of the top 3 refugee receiving nations in the world. Carl and Julie continue to work there in 4 locations around the country, to provide targeted, culturally relevant quality mental health support to some of the 1.4 million people registered as refugees.

You will hear his story today.

Lou Steel, who has a wonderful story about how God prepared him to reach people through a motorcycle ministry, will be our guest today. Lou Steel is a co-founder and member of the national board of the Last Disciples MC, a 501(c)(3) Christian organization whose challenging aim has been to spread the gospel to hardcore illegal motorcycle clubs and anybody else who God places in their way in the United States and Australia.

The Last Disciples is an MC that works with motorcyclists, gang members, street people, at-risk youth, those who have addictions that are ruling their lives, and people who have "fallen between the gaps" of traditional ministries. They genuinely serve those who the church fears.

The biker's outlaw lifestyle is marked by extremes; he will spend the day working, but mainly just hanging out, and later seek solace in drinking, using drugs, partying, or riding. Outlaws are often fatalistic and many of them have no aspirations for a better life. The majority of their literature and art is focused on motorcycles, particularly Harley-Davidsons and choppers, and they have a set of ideals that celebrate freedom, nonconformity to popular culture, and an extreme loyalty to their MC. Therefore you might want to reconsider facing them head-on if you were considering it. The warning is explicit and deliberate and is stated in the Outlaws MC's motto, "God Forgives, Outlaws Don't," or GFOD for short.

Mark Moore and I conducted this podcast in the slums of Nairobi, Kenya.
Like other Nairobi slums, Mathare grew as a result of massive rural-to-urban migration. Mathare has a population density of 1,000+ residents per 2.3 acres For comparison, Manhattan has a residential density of 70,000 residents per square mile or 270 people per 2.5 acres. It is, however, important to note that almost all Manhattan residents live in buildings between four and 30 stories, whereas Mathare consists primarily of single-story structures.

We had a chance to teach 50 pastors and hear many of their stories as well as see firsthand how the residents of Mathare live.

Today, I'm having a conversation with D.J. Bosler, a phenomenally creative leader who obeyed God and now runs one of the world's most rapidly expanding children's discipleship ministries. His GAMELIFE ministry offers churches a fun and exciting approach to educate kids about God's Truth and encourage them to apply it to their lives. GameLife gives kids the opportunity to apply biblical principles while engaging with God's Word through meaningful interactive games.

Every second of GameLife's Midweek Ministry is dedicated to involving kids in worthwhile activities that vividly illustrate the Bible. The One Main Truth of a passage is understood by students through in-depth discipleship training, which includes both reading Bible stories and discovery-based learning. GameLife equips leaders with the child-focused educational strategies they need to share God's Truth with children. In GameLife training sessions, leaders of all ages have fun and learn alongside the students. The only prerequisite for volunteering is a small amount of time and no prior knowledge of the Bible; all that is needed is a desire to submit to Jesus as he works through each volunteer.

I had the pleasure of meeting this amazing man of God. He has a unique gift of teaching people how to memorize.

Emmy-nominated founder and lead pastor of Hope In Numbers, Gordon Wickert is pursuing the mission to lead people in transforming every number seen into a timely, powerful verse from scripture that can be applied daily so nothing can separate people from the living word of God. He is an empowering leader who provides inspirational teaching and visionary leadership. Gordon has worked as a youth Pastor for 11 years and Graduated from the Vineyard Institute in 2005. He is the author of the book Hope In Numbers. He lives in Peoria, Arizona with his wife Cindy, and has 5 kids including his 4 daughters Ky, Emily, Hope, and Hallelujah as well as his son Andrew James who recently passed on into eternity with the Lord.

Gordon prays that Christian families can raise their children to see God’s word in numbers so that they can know God all the days of their life, as they fall deeper in love with Jesus Christ.

More than three billion people live in areas with few Bibles, Christians, churches, or people trying to reach them. Yet, only 3% of Christian workers and 1% of mission dollars focus on these unreached areas of the world.

We think this should be different.

That’s why 86% of our TTI's resources are devoted to these areas.

They’re unlikely to hear the Good News of Jesus Christ unless someone intentionally engages them.

Church planters with The Timothy Initiative are doing just that. Faithful disciples are proclaiming His name among 765 UPGs and 40 UUPGs. People are coming to Christ and becoming part of some of the first-known churches in their people group!

Today we will talk with Jacob Park, a good friend and one the godliest man I know. He is the COO of CRAM. Their mission is to take the love of Jesus Christ to the people of Asia. By meeting their physical needs we gain the opportunity to meet their spiritual needs. Hunger is something people face daily. Many of them do not know when their next meal will be. Many people of Asia struggle with the fear of having no food to feed their family or themselves. In 1997, the Lord placed a burning desire within the hearts of C. Y. and Patricia Kim to evangelize and meet the physical needs of people living in the communist countries of Asia. Through God’s amazing grace and guidance, He has expanded those opportunities, and Christ Reaching Asia Mission (CRAM) Worldwide now shares benevolent works in China, North and South Korea, Cambodia, and the Philippines. Established in 1998, CRAM is an active accredited member of the Evangelical Council for Financial Accountability, ensuring our supporters that we follow the highest standards of accountability.

God is moving in the world unlike at any time in history. With Christianity now centered in Africa with over 700 million Christians and China exploding with the Gospel, many Christians and Non-Christians are moving away from their homelands and scattering around the world.

Some researchers estimate that 40% of the world does not have access to clean water, but 70% have a cell phones. The opportunities to reach the world thru digital media are endless.

Today we will dive into what one organization is doing to advance the Gospel and discipleship digitally. We will hear from one of the most creative and innovative organizations I know, Good News Productions International.

Today, Mike currently serves as President for Good News Productions, International—a multi-national, Christian pro-church organization whose mission is to share the Good News through strategic evangelism and provide effective resources to increase global disciple-making efforts because GNPI's vision is to fill the earth with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.

Missions of hope have been a long-term mission partner of CCV. I highly encourage you to listen to episode 13, where the founders of missions of hope, Mary and Wallace Kamau of Missions of Hope, which call MOHI for short, were interviewed in a podcast here at let's go 360. This episode I have chosen To call, After Missions of Hope. Today we will talk with Natasha Feagins, the Director of Sponsorship and Advancement for MOHI.

Today we will explore what happens to children who have completed school and enter the world as independent young men and women.

Natasha oversees the Sponsorship program in the US. Her team manages the sponsorship of 25,000+ students and works closely with all their sponsors.

Natasha is also responsible for creating and cultivating relationships with partnering organizations, corporations, and foundations to further MOHI's mission and benefit the communities they serve.

In full transparency, I have known Natasha and her family for 20 years now, and I have to say I think she is one of the hardest-working people I know. She has such a massive heart for underprivileged children living in some of the worst conditions in the world. She has worked with some fantastic non-profits, providing scholarships to graduating students, working with local children's shelters, and fundraising for local child abuse rescue organizations.

Born out of a desire to serve the community, Dawn & Michael Rapaport started H.E.L.P. in 2012. While growing up, Dawn experienced seasons of Homelessness as a child. As a result, she’s understood the perspective of how difficult it is to be uprooted continually and not know where her head would rest for the night or when she might eat again. Both Dawn & Michael are committed to serving and being involved with the underserved community and offer their talents & gifts back, providing hope, education, and direction to people who really need the help.

In our own community, there are boys and girls who go to bed hungry every night. They have enough challenges going through the stresses of living on the streets. Being hungry just adds to their anxiety and stress.

Many homeless families cannot afford to provide their children with adequate meals. For many of these children, the only meals they obtain are through their school’s breakfast or lunch programs.

Homeless Engagement Lift Partnership is intervening to fill these hunger gaps with daily afternoon nutritional snack bags ( HelpSnackz ). We work with the school district's Homeless Liaison to identify which schools, and how many of these students need our support.

The most effective way to intersect with homeless children and their families is through schools. We feel it is the most efficient way to reach the families. This program is a stepping stone in assisting families to break the cycle of homelessness. It started with the Helpsnackz Program.

In this episode, I will be talking with two of the Youth Pastors here at CCV to get their perspective on students on mission trips.

Sending high school kids on mission trips is a great idea for several reasons. Parental concerns like, "Why are you wishing to send students overseas when there is so much work to be done here?" are common for me as a missions pastor to hear. Even when we travel within the United States, I am frequently asked this question.

While it's true that we have plenty to accomplish at home, high school students should nonetheless consider participating in mission trips abroad. Mission trips give the youth of the church I serve the opportunity to learn that God can use them to spread his name, and I find it to be a really rewarding experience. We believe that sending out missionaries is a vital element of our plan to see those far from God become devout disciples of Jesus Christ.

Every short-term group should go into the trip with the mindset of a student, ready to learn from the experiences of the long-term missionaries and eager to assist them in any way they can. Primarily, short-term travel affords the chance to spread the gospel to far-flung regions of the world.

Today I will be talking to Micah Foreman with Scriptures in Use. Scriptures in Use is reaching out to the hard places of the world. Places where the message of Jesus has never been heard. Places where cultural and linguistic barriers have isolated people from the transforming message of Jesus Christ.

SIU has developed powerful and effective methods to communicate through storytelling the great narratives of the Bible. Through dramatizations of the parables of Jesus and cultural adaptations of Scripture in Song, every believer is taught to become a Bible storyteller through which they become natural disciple-makers and trainers.

Oral learners are people all over the globe whose mental processes are primarily influenced by spoken rather than textual forms of communication. They, therefore, learn primarily or exclusively by speech, song, etc.

Oral communicators also learn information by spoken rather than textual means. Some do so out of necessity because they cannot read or write with understanding, but others simply prefer non-print forms of communication.

80% of the Earth’s People are “Oral-Preference Learners.”
Traditional literate evangelism techniques do not reach these people groups.

“Oral-Preference Learners” prefer to share and pass information, knowledge, and
history through oral communication. Many of them cannot read or write, while
others simply prefer non-print forms of communication.

There are an estimated 5.7 billion people who are oral learners. This includes
3 billion adults, 900 million very young children, and 450 million children between
the ages of eight and fifteen; all of these have basic or below basic literacy skills.

Today it's an honor to talk with Nick Demos CCV's Pastor of CCV Stars.

CCV Stars is a youth sports experience focused on developing character and integrity on and off the field. While CCV Stars is a ministry of Christ’s Church of the Valley, we invite anyone in the community to participate in our sports programs.

CCV Stars began as an outreach program with a goal to connect the church with the community through youth sports. During its inaugural season in 2004, CCV Stars had over 600 participants in the recreational soccer league, United Soccer. Since then, CCV Stars has grown to serve thousands of youth participants in many sports across the valley.

MORE THAN A GAME (MTAG)

At CCV Stars, we utilize a More Than A Game (MTAG) philosophy that emphasizes life skill development so that each child can win on and off the field. We want to partner with parents to further develop the character and integrity of their children based on Christian values.

Today we are going to talk about Europe. So much about Europe, we can relate to here in the US. Many in Europe are discouraged and feel cynical about the future. As freedoms of speech and religion have become more limited, anger towards government figures grows. Distrust is high in politicians and their effectiveness to solve the issues that plague their countries. Europe is in desperate need of a spiritual revival because the only one who can lift the weight of hopelessness and despondency from Europe's shoulders is Christ.

That disciple-making process was so clearly role modeled and taught to us by Christ himself. He asked his disciples to see for themselves, then to believe and to follow him. And then of course we get very clear instruction 5 times as Jesus gives his final command to go and make disciples.

And that is exactly what Josiah's venture is doing in walking with young people through the process of disciple-making, challenging them to take the next step in the journey from unbelief to spiritual maturity.

And with me today is Kelly Hargan, Director of Josiah Venture, US I had the privilege of working with Kelly in Czech Republic back in 2019. I left so encouraged by their heart for youth. I saw Josiah Venture boldly standing on the front lines of ministry in a spiritually dark place. I saw lives bein
g transformed.

Today we talk with Pastor Harry Demos about CCV’s More That Us Initiative. At CCV, we are a small church with a large vision to reach the entire Phoenix Valley for Jesus Christ. With nearly 4.7 million people in the Valley, many of whom are unchurched, we will not accomplish this goal alone. We will need MORE THAN US. By partnering with other Phoenix Valley Churches, together we will be able to share the love of Jesus more than CCV could do alone.

The right relationships and resources make all the difference in helping people experience the hope of Jesus. And getting started is simple. Starting a church is one of the most fulfilling – and difficult! – things you will ever do. But did you know that 66% of new churches don’t make it to full self-sufficiency within 4 years? Though the stats are daunting, with prayer, wise counsel, and some reflection, we can understand who God created us to be, what God created us to be doing, and what our current assignment is. Today we will talk with Brent Foulke.

Brent Foulke serves as Vice president for global with Stadia. He’s been in ministry for 30 years he has been a lead pastor and I know he has a pastor's heart. He has been in church planting for 22 years since planting his home church in Albany, NY, and helping with many other church plants. Brent and his wife Kay live in Upstate NY, their two sons and their wives are in ministry in PA and IN. They have two daughters in college.

Today’s episode is with Dermot O’Mahony who is talking about Elevate church that he leads in Limerick, Ireland. I met Dermot many years ago when he came to CCV just looking to learn how to start a church. He came on board CCV's sports ministry as an intern and his journey began. Now a successful Lead Pastor in his hometown, Limerick, Ireland. Dermot explains that his church is a group of people who believe life is an adventure. He talks about the church is not about mere religion or a specific denomination, but they are about introducing people to the adventure that a life with Christ can bring, and then challenging and encouraging them to live a life of significance. Dermot wants Elevate to be an Irish church that is known for its service to you and the city of Limerick and he does not want to be a church that talks the talk, but a church that serves people. And that is exactly what they are doing. Elevate is made up of dozens of volunteers, reaching people each week with the good news of Jesus.

Today we speak with Terry Kovach, Transitional Services Director at New Freedom.

NEW FREEDOM provides critical human services that protect the community and inspire dignity by empowering the innate goodness in every human being. They have found that those who come to New Freedom are quick to say it feels like home. When new member first enters, they are greeted with friendly faces and welcomes. There is no judgment and no size-ups like in jails and prison yards – because the people who come to New Freedom want to live a different lifestyle.

On the first day of arrival, a new member receives a key to their room. Next, a peer mentor escorts them to their team with which they program and live together for the next 90 days.

This is a 90-day program that provides for every basic need. At New Freedom, members are given the tools needed to uncover inner peace, remember their dreams, and begin executing strategic plans for their futures.

I met Saleem and Andrea his wife several years ago but for over 35 years the Christian Holy Land Foundation has been focused on educating and advocating for issues concerning Israel and Palestine, both in the middle east and in the United States. Trust me if have not been there and, we will talk about that a little more later, Israel is a nation full of beautiful but traumatic history. it has obviously been a place of great religious significance as well as great turmoil and suffering. the team there wants to help bring grace, peace, and understanding through Christ to this incredible land and its people.

So in the middle east, chlf works with local churches and pastors to disciple, encourage and grow the local Christian community through evangelism, church planting, discipleship, relief and development ministries, and many more outreach programs.

But their ministry is not limited to the holy land, in the United States, chlf educates on and advocate for the many complex issues facing the holy land today. they offer programs for churches, small groups, or other ministries to help your church better understand these challenges and that’s what we intend to do with this podcast to our CCV family. they also organize and provide trips to the holy land to help educate and advocate through travel by spending time in communities, providing authentic cultural engagement, showing the reality of people's daily lives, and visiting biblical sites with experts, theologians, and historians.

Through relationships between western Christians and local indigenous Arab Christians, they share the gospel and disciple those who accept Christ and then provide holistic support that will foster a Christian movement across the holy land.

Today we will talk with my good friend Joshua Ward about Bulembu, Swaziland. Swaziland is surrounded by South Africa, except for a short border with Mozambique, Swaziland depends heavily on South Africa from which it receives more than 90% of its imports and to which it sends 60% of its exports. Joshua was born in Southern Africa and is a 3rd generation Swazi. He grew up in ministry life, with both parents in vocational ministry.

Swaziland, now Eswatini, has the highest HIV rate in the world, resulting in over half of the child population either being orphaned or vulnerable. Struck by the masses of children flocking to the streets of the capital city, Kevin Ward, Joshua’s father, resigned from his corporate job to start caring for orphans.

Starting out as a soup kitchen in the capital city, serving street kids, the ministry has grown to include family-based orphan care, community development, a men’s rehabilitation center, and a safe house for abused women. Together, we are on a mission to bring Kingdom Transformation, One Life At A Time, and we believe we can really transform this entire nation within 1 generation.

Joshua spent much of his childhood on a farm, where he and his family lived with 50 orphaned and vulnerable children. It was here that the Lord birthed the vision of Bulembu – an abandoned mining town rebuilt to be a refuge of safety for the orphaned generation of Eswatini.

After studying business in Tennessee and working in corporate America for a little while, Joshua was quickly drawn back to serving the ministry. Joshua now lives in Phoenix, AZ. He attends CCV and serves at the Verrado campus, and leads Partners in Action, a 35-year old Phoenix-based nonprofit that is focused on resourcing Kingdom Transformation in Eswatini and beyond.

He is married to his college sweetheart, Caroline, who is a part of the CCV worship community.

They don’t have children yet but are excited for that season to come. In the meantime, their Corgi puppy proves to be challenge enough for them.

I am so excited about today's episode. I have to admit that our next guest has helped me in rediscovering missions at CCV more than anyone. He has become one of my heroes as I try to be obedient to the Great Commission. He co-authored two books “When Everything is Missions and then another follow-on Book “ conversations on When Everything is Missions”

I have a good friend. Her name is Stephanie Freed and she co-founded Rapha International in 2003 after she was challenged by her father to research the issue of human trafficking. Beginning with one aftercare program for underage female survivors of trafficking and sexual exploitation in Battambang, Cambodia, 15 years later, Rapha now serves child survivors in Cambodia, Thailand, and Haiti. Stephanie is a firm believer in quality programming and collaboration, which allows Rapha to enjoy the cooperation and respect of the governments where they are working.

Rapha International is a public benefit 501c3 nonprofit committed to ending the trafficking and sexual exploitation of children. Founded in 2003, Rapha continues to rescue and rehabilitate children, while bringing them to lasting freedom. Rapha’s vision is to see all children living in sustainable freedom within safe communities.

Rapha is a faith-based organization that takes seriously the scripture that reads: “Dear children, let us not love with words or speech but with action and in truth” (1John 3:18). It is with compassion energized and sustained by love that we act on behalf of victimized and vulnerable children. Though we are faith-based, we offer aid without requiring those that we help to embrace our faith. When Jesus fed the 5,000 he did not withhold from those who refused to believe. He gave freely, and so do we.

Micah 6:8 says, “He has shown you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”I serve on StreelightUSA's board where Hannah Burkle is the Executive Director at StreetLightUSA. In 2011 Hannah joined the anti-trafficking movement and worked for Rapha International speaking and bringing awareness to human trafficking nationally and internationally. She moved to Cambodia in 2013 and lived internationally for seven years as the Country Director for Rapha International. In her position, she oversaw two aftercare programs, two prevention centers, one special needs house, and one transitional home. Hannah believes ministry is a way of life, meant to be lived in service to Christ Jesus. Hannah is passionate about empowering leaders, staff, and the community at large, to “be a voice for the voiceless” through awareness, outreach, support, and advocacy opportunities. Her goal is to enrich the lives of each child God places in StreetlightUSA’s care, by helping each one find their voice, purpose, love, acceptance, and hope in Christ. Hannah will continue to build and maintain partnerships with churches, mental health and wellness centers, medical providers, government agencies, law enforcement, pastors, business owners, supporters, NGO’s, and donors. It is Hannah’s prayer that she and StreetlightUSA be a beacon of hope and unity in the valley and around the world for change by breaking the cycle of abuse as they walk alongside each child God has entrusted to them through their journey of healing.

There is a saying by some in Japan that says, Not knowing id Buddha which means you have a choice in this life; you can know, or you can not know, and become Buddha. I agree that you have a choice in life. Perhaps that is the common ground between Christianity and Buddhism. No matter what anybody says and no matter how well anything can be explained; it is finally all up to you. You must find the truth for yourself. Everyone has that capacity. That's where Mustard Seed goes to work.

Today's guest is Jay Greer with Mustard Seed. Jay and his wife Caitlin both graduated from Ozark Christian College in 2007 and moved to Japan in 2008. They have lived and worked in Japan for 14 years doing church planting and evangelism in three different cities. Currently, Caitlin serves in music ministry and Jay is the pastor of their church in Tokyo and also serves in leadership with their organization, Mustard Seed Network. They have four kids, one of which is adopted, and they were all born in Japan. Their mission is to glorify God by making disciples through planting gospel-centered churches in urban Japan.

Their Vision is to see the cities of Japan saturated with and impacted by gospel-centered churches that further the global cause of Jesus Christ.

I have known Doug for many many years and I can honestly say he has impacted my life with his encouragement and has always been there for counsel. He is one of a very short list of men that I would place in the category of the wisest men on planet earth.

Doug Lucas is the founder and President of Team Expansion. He is married to Penny and has two grown sons. He has served the organization since October, 1978.

It is said that the Greeks didn't write obituaries. They only asked one question: "Did this man have passion?" Doug has said that if his friends remember only one thing about him, he hopes they'll remember this -- that he had a passion for caring about those who had no hope.

Doug strives to launch new fields and train leaders both from the USA as well as from partner sending bases abroad. Because most Team Expansion workers raise support for all that they do for the Lord and for the organization, Doug depends completely on faithful partners directly supporting his work with Team Expansion.

Without your prayers, gifts, and partnership, Doug would have no resources to lead the organization forward into new lands.

Thank you Doug for your vision and shared partnership. It’s both inspiring and empowering.

Our guest today is Frederic Libert from Laliberte.live. Fred and Nadine live in Kinshasa, Congo, and pastor laliberte.live.

CCV helped start this amazing church less than 1 year ago. They have more than 50 small groups on 4 continents and have just planted their first physical campus in Kinshasa (DR Congo) the most populated French-speaking city in the world. Kinshasa has the largest population of any city proper in Africa with a population of over 10 Million and ranks as its third-largest metropolitan area. It's also the largest French-speaking city proper in the world by any other measure,. After decades of armed conflicts imposed by neighboring countries, the infrastructures of the once leading modern African city are now being remarkably restored.

RNA’S mission is to reach the incarcerated Internationally and their loved ones with the good news of the Gospels, the Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20). They have provided over 500,000 Bibles to inmates, Leper colonies, and others internationally. We partner with over 500 prison Chaplains in the US alone to provide New International Version Bibles & Study Bibles free of charge each year. Locally, in Arizona jails and prisons they conduct Church services, baptisms, re-entry support, and one on one mentoring. They also partner with CCV to embrace the formally incarcerated including sex-offenders, the lepers of today's society. Their most recent partnership with Governor Ducey’s DES 2nd chance program is one of the most successful Re-Entry programs and continually seek partnership with like-minded churches nationwide, the company’s to employ ex-felons and housing opportunities to assist released inmates transition successfully into our communities.

Bobby Cox is a good friend. He is the President and Founder of GoTEN (Go To Every Nation.) GOTEN’s mission is to create disciple-making movements among unreached people. They begin by working with unreached refugees that have resettled here in the United States. They then partner with refugees to return to their home countries to introduce Jesus to their own people. Bobby’s team is based here in Phoenix and creates opportunities for volunteers to engage unreached people without having to leave the United States. Bobby has been in full-time ministry for 30 years and has traveled to 60+ countries. He and his family served as missionaries among an unreached and 100% Muslim people group.

Today we will hear about how GOTEN reaches the refugees by moving into their neighborhood.
