This podcast was created to help you heal from trauma. Trauma interferes with our internal guidance system and separates us from one another and more importantly, from our highest self. Trauma survivors and sisters Dr. Amy Hoyt and Leina Hoyt, MA draw upon their personal knowledge and extensive research in the fields of mental health, trauma, and spirituality, to teach you practical and powerful evidence-based steps to heal yourself from trauma.
Three skills that will help you when deciding how to limit contact with a toxic family member or friend and knowing when to go no contact.
- Communicating with the person that hurt you
- Setting Boundaries
- Avoiding Triangulation
We'll also cover the difference between limited contact and no contact and when to use those appropriately.

Do you find yourself adding in a lot of details and explanations each time you ask for things or change your plans? Do you over explain because you are nervous that people will be upset with you or not believe you? Many survivors of complex trauma (cPTSD) long to be heard, see and validated. Over-explaining or over-communicating is a trauma response that comes out of a deep need to feel seen, heard and validated. Listen in this week as Dr. Amy Hoyt and Leina Hoyt, MFT explain how this develops in childhood and how it shows up in adulthood.
