We're back! After a long hiatus, we're up and running again for this podcast. Thanks for listening, and make sure to check out the other episodes we've recorded over the last few seasons if you're new to this podcast.

In this episode, we are talking about a big cultural topic; youth sports. And particularly, club and travel team sports. Don't worry, we're not wanting people to drop all sports in their lives. But, we do want families to have healthy conversations and feel like they are able to maintain their priorities and values even as their kids do sports.

To find out more about healthy sports ideas and to listen to the podcast episode that sparked this conversation, click on the links below. As always, feel free to reach out to John at jvanne@gracepres.org with any questions or feedback about this episode or ideas for future episodes!

According to the National Center for Education Statistics, for the 1970-71 academic year, the average in-state tuition and fees for one year at a public non-profit university was $394. By the 2020-21 academic year, that amount jumped to $10,560, an increase of 2,580%.  This is a cumulative price increase of about 567% during the last 50 years. What are parents and students supposed to do?  The world says "take on as many student loans as you need!  Everyone is doing it and you'll pay it off eventually..."

Greg Gipp joins us today to both offer help and hope that we don't need to go into a mountain of debt to achieve the goals and dreams God has laid on our hearts.  We have options!  And, we can avoid becoming a slave to the lender, which impacts every part of our lives.  This is a must-listen for parents and students who are in their upper high school years.

Hey, Teleios listeners!

As our world returns more and more to "normal" we recognize that it can mean we are susceptible to quickly return to a kind of over-busyness that grabs ahold of our lives and our kid's lives and defines our priorities and values without our permission. What can be done?? What wisdom does scripture have to offer us? Tune in to hear more!

Dan and Carol have 4 kids with the youngest in college currently.  Dan has a passion for helping families develop their students well as they near high school graduation.  With so many options available, so much external pressure, and quite often, so many internal expectations, it is very difficult to find the wisest post-high school path for our students.  Dan shares his wealth of experience and insight as you continue to disciple your teens.   Enjoy!
