Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #75 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”.
Today we’re discussing the topic: “Why Can’t I Lose Weight: Ultra-Processed Foods”.
Ultra-Processed Foods are often marketed as “healthy”, “natural” and “organic”. These words may describe the original ingredients, but they don’t refer to the process of how the food was made. These foods go through multiple processes and contain many added ingredients. They’re highly manipulated. Some examples of ultra-processed foods are soft drinks, chips, chocolate, candy, ice-cream, sweetened breakfast cereals, packaged soups, chicken nuggets, hot-dogs, and fries.
Diets high in these foods may set off the immune system, causing inflammation, gut permeability, and a bacterial imbalance in the gut. These can negatively affect your immune system, and cause weight gain.
Eating ultra-processed foods, such as industrial oils and synthetic preservatives, make them softer and easier to chew and swallow, which may lead to eating a larger quantity of food at a quicker rate. This, in turn, leads to a higher caloric.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #74 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”.
Today we’re discussing the topic: “Why Can’t I Lose Weight: Cortisol – the weight loss devil”.
Cortisol is the primary stress hormone and it’s made in the adrenal glands. It’s elevated when we experience heightened anxiety or stress, and it’s lowered when we’re in a relaxed state.
When cortisol levels rise, all of the body’s energy goes into handling the stressors instead of focusing on digestion, the immune system, or other regulatory functions.
Cortisol stimulates carbohydrate and fat metabolism for quick energy. It prompts insulin release and maintenance of blood sugar levels. This can cause an increase in appetite and cravings for sweet, high-fat, and salty foods.
Today, we’re discussing healthy ways to lower your cortisol levels.

Today we’re in (Part 4) of a series that dives into the “Why Can’t I Lose Weight: What’s My Body Type?”
In Part One, Podcast #70, we discussed the 3 different body types: ectomorph, mesomorph, and endomorph. In Part Two, Podcast #71, we discussed how to determine which body type you are and how to train and eat for your body type. In Part Three, Podcast #72, we discussed the first two (Adrenal and Thyroid) of the 4 body types according to organ systems of the body.
This week, we’ll discuss the last two of the body types according to organ systems of the body. The Liver body type will have a protruding belly (beer belly) because beer destroys the liver and causes it to leak into the belly. They may have right shoulder pain, skin issues and stiff backs.
The Ovary body type will have their weight in a pouch below the belly button and in their hips and thighs (saddlebags). They may have ovarian issues, menstrual problems, and hot flashes.

This week, we’re going to discuss body types according to the 4 organ systems of the body.
The Adrenal body type is the most common, and it has a sagging belly, buffalo hump on the back and a rounded face. Excess cortisol is the cause of most of the issues.
The Thyroid body type gains weight all over, has hair loss and loose skin, outside eyebrows falling out, dry skin, and they crave alcohol, bread, pancakes and waffles. Too much estrogen, heavy periods, the environment, or a lack of digestive gallbladder release may be the culprits.

Today we’re beginning (Part 1) of a series that dives into the “20 Reasons Why I Can’t Lose Weight”.
Mindless eating occurs when the brain is distracted, and a person becomes unaware of what and how much he or she is eating. It can lead to excessive calorie consumption and weight gain.
One way to tackle this is to track what you’re eating. Consuming whole foods and eating plenty of protein while adding in exercise, can be helpful.

Thanks for joining us on episode #66 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”.
Today we’re beginning (Part 1) a series that dives into the question: “Why can’t I lose weight?”
Weight can be an all-consuming topic. You might wake up and think about it, and then before going to bed at night, look down and see your full belly, and promise yourself to be “good” tomorrow.
On the most basic level, calories in should be equal to calories used, in order to maintain your weight. We’ve all heard this. So, what is it that ‘s preventing us from following through?
The weight loss industry is big business. I’ve been desperate before and bought into what they were selling. I’d lose weight and then I’d put it back on. The ups and the downs of the numbers on the scale controlled how I felt about myself. I was looking for a distraction from the emotional pain that life brings. Food was a way to numb it. Like any addiction, sugar became my friend.

Today we’re bringing one of our favorite guests back on the show, Ted Hahn, to discuss “Synthetic verses Whole Food Supplements.”
Dr. Kell interviewed Ted back in Podcast #17, where they discussed “Inflammation and the Autoimmune Response.” Ted is a clinical nutritionist who found his passion in helping doctors and their practices understand how to implement nutrition to improve the health of their patients.
As a Clinical Nutritionist, his favorite, simple rule is “If it doesn’t have fins, feathers, fur, or grow out of the Earth, don’t eat it.” We’re learning that this same rule applies for supplements.
Today on the show, we discuss strength (mg/amount) verses potency (how strong/how well it works), and why the body utilizes whole food better than synthetic.
You might be thinking you’re taking a large dose of Vitamin C, but how much of that is your body able to use? Are you using a daily collagen supplement? We discuss what collagen is and how the body makes it. Are you on blood thinners? You might find our discussion noteworthy.

Thanks for joining us on episode #50 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell.” Today begins a series on “What is Disease?” We are going to discuss the medical definition vs. the natural definition of disease.
The medical definition of “disease” is an illness or sickness characterized by specific signs and symptoms.
The natural definition of “disease” is when the body is no longer in a state of health, balance, or feeling well.
When you are diagnosed with a disease, you may feel relieved to know what it is. Then you may be wondering how to fix it. The medical path may be to get a prescription. The natural path may be to remove what is toxic and provide the body with what it needs to heal.
The natural definition feels more empowering and gives us hope that we can fix what is out of balance.

Chakras are the seven energy centers in your body that correspond to specific internal organs and nerve
bundles. They run from the base of your spine to the top of your head. If they get blocked, you may
experience emotional or physical symptoms related to that particular chakra.
Yoga is a spiritual discipline that focuses on breath control and simple meditation while adopting specific
body positions. It is practiced for health and relaxation. Doing yoga is a great way to balance your chakras.
Each chakra has a corresponding yoga pose.
Today, we will discuss the seven chakras and how we can help to balance them with practices such as Yoga.

Hypnosis is a form of therapy that uses a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration to help you gain control over thoughts and behaviors that are undesirable to you. There is no loss of control over your behavior during the session, but you are more open to suggestion during hypnosis.
Hypnosis may help to treat a variety of conditions, such as: anxiety, post-traumatic stress, smoking, overeating, pain and many other health disorders. Sometimes we need help to redirect our thoughts and behaviors without using prescription medicine and dealing with their side-effects. It’s nice to know about all our options.

Welcome and thanks for joining us on episode #39 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell.” Last week, in Episode #38, we began a “What Is?” series with “What is Chiropractic?” We talked about what types of injuries chiropractors see most often and the various treatments that they perform.
This week, our topic is “What is Acupuncture?” Acupuncture is a form of traditional Chinese therapy used to relieve pain and other health conditions by the stimulation of the body’s meridian points.
Dr. Kell was a license Acupuncturist in the state of Colorado for many years. Though his license did not transfer to California, he still applies its principles in practice today. Acupuncture is about the diagnosis and re-balancing of the body’s energy flow through meridians and how that balance or lack thereof affects our health. There are many ways to stimulate and balance your meridians energy flow. We discuss these ways. An Acupuncture needle is but one of many.
Listen and learn!
You have options when it comes to your health care.

Thanks for joining us on episode #38 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell.” Today begins a “What Is?” Series. Today we will discuss “What is Chiropractic?”
Chiropractic is a health-care profession that focuses on the spine and other joints of the body, along with their connection to the Nervous and Circulatory systems. Chiropractors avoid the use of unnecessary drugs or surgery. They use adjustments of the spine and joint extremities to help reduce pain, improve joint motion, blood and nerve circulation and benefit your general health. In addition, they also provide lifestyle recommendations, nutritional counseling, soft-tissue and other therapies.
This podcast cover’s the history, education and scope of practice of a Chiropractic Doctor.
It provides an in-depth look at Chiropractic care and it benefits to the human body. What it can do to improve your health? It covers the ongoing struggles of the profession for acceptance as a main stream source of health benefit to the world public. It discusses how the American Medical Association attempted to eliminate Chiropractic as health care alternative in the United States of America and how the AMA failed at that attempt.
We hope this Podcast will be enlightening and informative. We hope it will give you a better understanding of why Chiropractic care can help improve your health. We hope the false hoods disseminated by the pharmaceutical industry and the AMA will be recognized and shared.
The Chiropractic adjustment continues to exist because it provides a highly successful benefit to the human race and other mammals of the earth.
Chiropractic care helps improve your health. Give it a try, you may be surprised at how much better you feel.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #37 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell.” We are at the end of a six-part series dedicated to “Body Detoxes and Cleanses.”
In Podcast 32, we discussed the differences between a fast, a cleanse, a detox, a flush, and a restore.
In Podcast 33, we talked about “Detoxes and Cleanses for Gut, Liver and Gall Bladder Health.”
In Podcast 34, we talked about “Detoxes and Cleanses for the Adrenal Glands and Kidneys.”
In Podcast 35, we discussed “Detoxes and Cleanses for the Heart and Lungs.”
Last week, in Podcast 36, we discussed “Detoxes and Cleanses for the Brain and Nervous System.”
Finally, we are wrapping up with “Detoxes and Cleanses for the Blood and Lymphatic System.” We’ll go deeper into their purpose and function, signs and symptoms related to blood and lymphatic system problems, and what you can do to remedy them.
Blood and Lymph are the two distinct fluids that move through the circulatory system. Blood carries oxygen and nutrients to the body’s cells and carries waste materials away. The lymphatic system protects your body against foreign invaders and maintains fluid levels in your body. To keep these two healthy, remember to stay hydrated and move your body.
I feel like we’ve heard these words before…somewhere…eat healthy, exercise and drink water…so simple, right?

It might be gut inflammation and bloating, or fatigue, or a big hardened belly, or headaches and trouble sleeping, or mood swings, or skin issues and allergies. This type of body talk is often ignored, or a band aid is slapped on to get through the work week, or a prescription is prescribed to mask the symptoms. It’s hard to stop and find the root cause. It takes time and effort, but like all things worth fixing, your quality of life is one of the most important ones, and your health is a big part of that. So, let’s talk about it…

The holidays are here, and we all know what that means: a little extra of this and how about some more of that. Let’s celebrate with family and love on each other. At some point, the excess food and beverages begin to send our bodies a signal, whether that is through our bellies bloating or inflammation causing aches and pains in our bodies, it is then that we know it’s time to clean it up.
So, what do most people do after the holidays? They check their scale and they check their bank account. Most decide this is a good time to start eating cleaner, exercising, and spending less. We’re going to focus on a more specific way to feel better: through detoxes and cleanses, which help the body get rid of those toxins we just ingested over the holidays. Cheers!

This week, we’re discussing sleep and exercise. The intensity of your exercise and when you do it can affect your ability to get restful sleep.
Exercise is physical effort carried out to sustain or improve your health and fitness.
Did you gain the Quarantine 15 lbs? During COVID, many people were less active. They weren’t going into work and gyms were closed. The less active lifestyle plus stress, caused sleep issues and weight gain in many people.
Now, it’s a popular thing to start an exercise routine after January 1st, but it’s a great habit to have year-round. The more active you are, the more your body pushes you to sleep at night for rest and recovery, filling up your tank.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #20 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. We are at the end of a four-part series called “Inflammation and The Autoimmune Response”. In week one, we talked about nutritional triggers for inflammation with Dr. Kell and Ted Hahn, clinical nutritionist. Ted’s favorite quote is, “If it doesn’t have fins, feathers, fur, or grow out of the Earth – don’t eat it!”
In part two, we discussed the physical triggers for inflammation in the body, which are injury and infection. With injury and infection, the body’s B Cells and T Cells jump into action helping the body to heal. It’s best to let the body move through this process naturally. When not injured, mild to moderate exercise can be good for the immune system. It gets the heart pumping and blood flowing throughout the body.
Last week, in part three, we discussed the emotional triggers for inflammation. Happiness, relaxation and calmness help to boost the immune system. Fear, hurt, sadness, anxiety, anger and hatred can suppress the immune system because these emotions kick in the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), and our bodies release excess cortisol due to the stress. Solutions and suggestions include: recognize your feelings and acknowledge them, develop trusting relationships, try meditation and yoga, and stay engaged and involved in life.
Finally, we’re wrapping up with part four, discussing environmental triggers for inflammation, which include nano and micro plastics, heavy metals, processed foods and their packaging, and cosmetics.
What are micro and nano plastics? They are small pieces of plastic that occur in the environment as a result of plastic pollution and the breakdown of larger forms of plastics that are present in the environment.
At this point, environmental exposure to microplastics and heavy metals is inevitable for humans, animals, and sea creatures. When plastic pieces undergo leaching, they release chemicals that are carcinogenic in nature. There are things you can do to reduce the micro and nano plastics in the environment.
Choose stainless steel water bottles, lunch containers, and straws, use reusable bags at the grocery store, eat a healthy diet with less processed foods packaged in plastic bags, choose cosmetics that are free of nano plastics such as acrylates, styrene, copolymer, polyethylene, nylon, and PMMA. Instead look for products made from natural materials with as few ingredients as possible. Each of us CAN make a difference by choosing to help the environment, and in turn, help decrease our toxic exposures, and support a healthier immune system.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #19 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. We are in the middle of a four-part series called “Inflammation and The Autoimmune Response”. In week one, we talked about nutritional triggers for inflammation with Dr. Kell and Ted Hahn, clinical nutritionist. Ted’s favorite quote is, “If it doesn’t have fins, feathers, fur, or grow out of the Earth – don’t eat it!” A good place to start is to cut down on hard alcohols and sugars, which cause an inflammatory response in the body.
Last week, in part two, we discussed the physical triggers for inflammation in the body, which are injury and infection. With injury and infection, the body’s B Cells and T Cells jump into action helping the body to heal. It’s best to let the body move through this process naturally. When not injured, mild to moderate exercise can be good for the immune system. It gets the heart pumping and blood flowing throughout the body.
Today, in part three, we will discuss the emotional triggers for inflammation.
Have you ever noticed how good you feel when happy, relaxed, and calm? Your energy is high, and you get a lot accomplished. Your mental focus is sharp, and ideas just line up.
The opposite is also true; when you’re anxious, angry, or scared, you feel uncertain about things and life seems harder. You feel heavy and your energy may be low. Your mind may be slow, and decisions do not come easily.
That’s because the body responds to emotions. Positive emotions help to boost the immune system! Negative emotions kick in the sympathetic nervous system (fight or flight), and we’re no longer relaxed. When we’re in a chronic negative state, our bodies release excess cortisol due to the stress, and too much cortisol can suppress the immune system, and contribute to obesity and depression.
There are solutions for emotional triggers, such as meditation and yoga, staying engaged and involved in life, and developing trusting relationships.
Don’t worry, be happy! Come sit on our couch and let’s talk about emotions…

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #18 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. Last week we started a four-part series called “Inflammation and The Autoimmune Response”. We talked about nutritional triggers for inflammation with Dr.
Today, in part two, we will discuss the physical triggers for inflammation in the body, which are injury and infection.
Injury is an act that damages or hurts. Examples of injury are abrasions, lacerations, hematomas, broken bones, joint dislocations, sprains, strains, and burns. Most of us have had an injury at some point in our life, whether it was an acute one, which resulted from a single, traumatic event such as a car accident or sports injury, or an overuse injury, which was subtle and occurred over time, like many athletes are experiencing in mid-life.
Infection occurs when another organism enters your body and causes disease. The organisms that cause infections can include things like viruses, bacteria, fungi, and parasites. If you are living and breathing, you have dealt with an infection in your life. Your immune system is built to recognize and kill all invaders.
Today, we will answer the questions: what is inflammation, how does exercise help or hurt the body’s immune system, what is going on in the body during exercise, does injury affect the immune system, and what causes long-term inflammatory conditions such as asthma, colitis, crohn’s disease, arthritis, vasculitis and nephritis?

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #17 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. Today begins a new series about Inflammation and The Autoimmune Response.
Immune systems – we’re born with them, but what exactly are they?
The immune system is a complex network of cells and proteins that defends the body against infection. It keeps a record of every germ it’s ever defeated so it can recognize and destroy the microbe quickly if it ever enters the body again.
You might be wondering what you can do to strengthen your immune system, with all the COVID talk right now. There are things you can do, and we’ll discuss them in today’s show.
Dr. Kell will be interviewing Ted Hahn, who is a clinical nutritionist who began bodybuilding and powerlifting competitively during his teen years. He was amazed at how quickly the body responded to good food and good exercise. As he matured, he got into nutrition and has been working in the field for the past 30 years.
He worked in Pharmaceuticals for 10-12 years but found his passion and love in clinical nutrition and helping doctors and their practices understand how to implement nutrition to improve the health of their patients on a long-term basis.
As a Clinical Nutritionist, his favorite, simple rule is “If it didn’t have fins, feathers, fur, or grow out of the Earth, don’t eat it.”

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #16 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. We are at the end of a four-part series dedicated to exercising. In week one, we discussed why we should exercise, how it improves our physical and emotional health, and what to do in the Pre-Workout Phase.
In week two, we talked about the Workout Phase, how much to exercise, should you change up your routine, should you exercise when you’re sick, and where to get help with your exercise routine options.
Last week, we got answers to what is caffeine, where does it come from, how does it affect the body, is it ok to use caffeine with exercise, and what are caffeine alternatives?
Finally, we are wrapping up with the Post-Workout: how long to cool down, what to do, what to eat after I’m done, how much do I drink, what stretches to do after working out, should I take supplements, how to handle muscle soreness, and how to stay motivated to get up and do it again.
Ok I finished working out, so now what? Well, now it’s time to stretch, drink water, and eat some food. Drink when you’re thirsty. Your food choices will depend on your goals. What’s motivating you? Are you a bodybuilder or a health and wellness seeker? Are you trying to lose weight? Lower your cholesterol? How do you handle muscle soreness? Do you listen to your body and go light?
Part of having a healthy body is tuning into it and listening to what it tells you. Work with it. Start slow and move your way up. Remember health is long term. You have your whole life to enjoy it. Find something you love and make sure it’s a part of your routine. Do you love listening to music? Do you enjoy gadgets? Do you love new workout clothes? Be inspired, and remember to go easy on yourself, it takes time to make healthy changes.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #15 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. We are in the middle of a four-part series dedicated to exercising. In week one, we discussed why we should exercise, how it improves our physical and emotional health, and what to do in the Pre-Workout Phase.
Last week, we talked about the Workout Phase, how much to exercise, should you change up your routine, should you exercise when you’re sick, and where to get help with your exercise routine options.
This week, we’ll get answers to what is caffeine, where does it come from, how does it affect the body, is it ok to use caffeine with exercise, and what are caffeine alternatives?
Caffeine is a natural stimulant most commonly found in tea, coffee, and cacao plants. It works by stimulating the brain and central nervous system.
We NEED it. We wake up feeling groggy and need something to wake us up. Often, it’s a cup of coffee, or two or three, but who’s counting. We know a couple more hours of sleep would really help us to feel refreshed, but sometimes we just don’t have that extra time, so we reach for another cup, or a chocolate bar, or a cup of tea.
Feeling tired does not feel good. And we need a quick fix. The problem is when we start to rely on the coffee instead of taking care of ourselves. The more tired we get, the more caffeine we need, the worse our food choices become, and the more irritable we get from it all. It’s a vicious cycle, but it's one that can be broken.
The goal is to balance health and wellness by getting enough sleep, eating nutritiously, and cutting out junk and chemicals in our food so that we can wake up refreshed.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #14 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. Last week we began a four-part series dedicated to exercising. We talked about why we should exercise, how it improves our physical and emotional health, and what to do in the pre-workout phase, or warmup.
This week, we’re discussing the Workout Phase, how much to exercise, should you change up your routine, should you exercise when you’re sick, and where to get help with your exercise routine options.
When beginning an exercise routine, you need to stop and think, what are my goals? Do I want to get that round muscle butt, toned legs, defined collarbone, or strong shoulders? Am I training for a certain sport? Am I trying to lower my cholesterol or fighting Type II Diabetes? Am I trying to feel better overall and have increased energy?
You might not know what your goals are when you begin, and that’s ok. The key is to begin. Find a workout buddy, hire a trainer, get interested in all sorts of activities. You might start with walking, hiking, or swimming. You might try bicycling, cross-country skiing, rowing, or jumping rope. You might find you love martial arts like Tai Chi. Strength training may be where you feel your best. Maybe you find out you have rhythm and dance class is where it’s at for you. Think of it as a research project. But do just one thing: move your body.

In Part Two, we’ll discuss the Workout Phase, how much to exercise, should you change up your routine, should you exercise when you are sick, and where to get help with your exercise routine options.

Exercise is an activity requiring physical effort, carried out to sustain or improve health and fitness. The key words here are physical effort. Get moving, because when you move, things in your body move. Things like blood, lymph, and neurotransmitters like serotonin that regulate your mood. And that’s a good thing. You feel more alive. Your body wakes up. Your mind wakes up. It’s a stress reliever, and in today’s world I think we could all use some of that.
But start slow, as in, do a warm-up. Five to ten minutes of light exercise, it’s like warming up your car. Let the juices begin to flow all throughout before you put it in drive. No need to make up for lost time. Ease into it. The less injuries, the more likely you are to stick with it and make it a lifestyle. Keep it simple, and remember the key here is to get moving.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #12 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. Dr. Kell will be interviewing Gina Mauricio, who is a running coach.
Coach – someone who inspires and motivates, teaches and leads, mentors and guides.
We’ve all had a favorite coach or teacher in the past. What was it that made them so special? Was it the extra attention and care they gave us? The connection they shared with us? The expertise they taught us? The impact they made in our lives and in the way we saw ourselves? The leadership roles they gifted us with, while on their teams? The confidence we gained under their direction? It’s hard to say exactly what it was. It’s hard to put into words…but they’re special. They’ve made an impact on our lives that can never be forgotten. We feel a debt to them for the time and energy they poured into us. We are forever changed by them.
As adults, we still need mentors and coaches. It’s different though because we have to seek them out. We get to decide what we want to specialize in and who to coach us. We can interview multiple coaches and pick the one that we feel most comfortable with. We can look up reviews online from their past clients and get a feel for their programs. We’re empowered to find the right coach.
On today’s show we are interviewing Gina Mauricio, a healthcare provider who specializes in coaching recreational runners of all ages and experiences to run with less injury potential and greater performance outcomes. She has a Master of Science degree in Kinesiology and a Personal Training Certification. She understands how to prevent injury and has helped many clients learn how to train smarter, not harder. She is compassionate with her runners. Her website, www.runwithgina.com, has many exciting testimonials of successful journeys with Coach Gina. So, come along as we discuss the keys to faster times and less injuries. Happy trails!

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #11 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing Nano Silver and Colloidal Silver.
Medicine Cabinet – a box containing medicines and first-aid items.
What would a Holistic Medicine Cabinet look like? What products would be in there? Before modern antibiotics were developed, colloidal silver was used as an all-purpose remedy for various infections and illnesses.
So, today we’re discussing Nano Silver and Colloidal Silver, which claim to be antibacterial, antiviral, and antifungal. They’re also used externally on the body for rashes, cuts, bruises, and infections. It may just be the next item for your Holistic Medicine Cabinet.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #10 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing Natural Deodorants.
We’ve all stood next to someone with an overpowering stench before. But why do they smell so bad? Or maybe it’s us? Today we’re discussing what causes body odor and how to help control it, ‘cause let’s face it, you can’t shower 10 times a day to wash away the smell.
85% of the population is using aluminum-based antiperspirants, which work by blocking the sweat glands and trapping harmful toxins in your body. Sweating is an important body function for expelling waste from the body.
There are Good, Better, and Best options for you that are aluminum free and won’t clog your pores. Some are even healing for the skin, so don’t sweat it, we’ve got you covered.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #9 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing Ocean Bay Naturals, one of the divisions of Earthacorp, a company dedicated to improving the lives of people, pets, plants, and the planet.
Natural – what does that even mean? The definition of natural is “existing in or caused by nature; not made or caused by humankind.” So, products that are labeled as “Natural” are good for us, right? Well, sometimes, but not always. It can be confusing, so today we’re breaking down some of the ingredients in natural products that we might want to avoid, because not all of it is good for us or our skin.
Some natural ingredients clog our pores, preventing us from sweating. But our bodies need to sweat. It’s a form of detoxification that is necessary in all of us. Other ingredients affect the PH of our skin, opening up our natural protective barrier to irritants and rashes. Dr. Kell clears up some of the confusion and educates us on better ingredients.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #8 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing General Life Challenges in our world.
Before I begin, if you or someone you know is struggling with suicidal thoughts, please call the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline. That’s 800-273-8255. They provide service 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to anyone in suicidal crisis or emotional distress. Connect with someone. Your life matters.
Life Challenges? Or - Opportunities to Learn? Change your perspective and change your life! That’s today’s focus. Right now, with the COVID Crisis, emotional health is our number one challenge. Everyone is dealing with loss, whether it’s the loss of a loved one, a familiar routine, face-to-face connection, a business, in-person school, school sports, or the loss of a job. We have all felt this. So how do we turn it around?
Dr. Kell shares a story about the Optimist and the Pessimist in today’s talk, and it really focuses on changing our perspective. There are so many ways to do this. We can educate ourselves by taking online classes, reading, listening to podcasts, or even just talking to another person can provide you with new information that will help you change your perspective. Start the domino effect, moving in a positive direction, and let it take you with it, because what you think about, matters.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #7 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing Earthacorp, a corporation dedicated to improving the lives of people, pets, plants, and the planet.
People invent things because society has problems that need solving.
“Necessity is the mother of invention”
– A well-known saying by ancient Greek Philosopher, PLATO.
Our world is full of chemicals that are making us and our planet sick. Almost everyone has a family member who’s had cancer, and people are getting it at younger ages now. We want to avoid suffering, so how do we do that? We have to clean up the chemicals in our lives. The Big Companies are not putting out the safest products for us. They’re creating the cheapest products, and that starts with chemicals and additives. We have to show them that we won’t accept their unhealthy product options, and purchase from companies that align with our standards of health. Put our money where our mouth is. Buy from companies that care about people and the planet. Companies that are dedicated to cleaning up our world for the next generation, because it matters.

Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on episode #6 of “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today we’re going to be discussing the “Six Changes You Can Make Today” to start living your best life.
Change – the act of becoming different.
I know what you’re thinking, and I agree with you, change is hard. Somewhere deep inside there’s a resistance to change. We want to do better and feel better, but we also want the familiar life, comfort foods, and routine that we grew up with. We admit that some changes would be good for our long-term health, so we agree to dip our toe in the pond of change. We’re not ready to jump in because that feels dangerous. We don’t want to drown in all the changes, so we agree to start small. Small daily changes that are in the right direction that will eventually take us to the life we dream of. Small but mighty. Daily wins and celebrations. Positive affirmations. Creating healthy habits. This is the path to health.
You’ve probably already come up with five different reasons why you can’t do this but listen to the quote from Bob Proctor: “Don’t be a victim of Negative Self-Talk. Remember you are listening.”
Keep it simple, and keep it moving. You can do this!

By then you might think it’s too late, but it’s never too late. There is always time to make changes. Your body is a miraculous machine. It never gives up on you. It wants you to win. We are here to help you find those miracles, those turning points, those special nuggets of information, and those products that will change your life for the better.

In last week’s Podcast, episode #3, we discussed the biggest insecurities that prevent people from changing to a healthy lifestyle. We talked about ways to overcome your self-doubt and establish healthy routines.
On today’s show, episode #4, we are discussing the biggest false belief about time and money spent on a healthy lifestyle, why most people have these thoughts, what the truth is about it, and how we can minimize the amount of time and money spent.
Organic foods are more expensive than chemically processed foods, it’s true, if you are looking at price to price comparison. But what most people fail to look at are the doctor bills over your lifetime, prescription medicines, and the time spent dealing with poor health outcomes and time off work for recovery from surgeries.
When you take care of yourself with daily healthy choices, you reap the benefits of a higher quality of life with your family. Less time at the doctor, less money on surgeries, and more time and energy to pursue what you love.
Isn’t that what we all want?
In last week’s Podcast, episode #2, we talked about how Dr. Kell made changes to his life by lifting weights and cutting back on junk food. He encouraged us to make that decision for ourselves based on how we feel, talked about what pitfalls to avoid and how to transition smoothly into the benefits of clearer thinking, a positive mindset, less pain, better moods and greater success and happiness in life.
On today’s episode, we are diving into the biggest insecurities that prevent people from changing to a healthy lifestyle.
Insecurity – we all feel it at times, that voice of self-doubt telling us we are not good enough to do something. We compare ourselves to others on television and social media, wondering when our perfect health will show up; we want to push the easy button. We procrastinate making healthy changes because we are afraid we won’t be able to accomplish what we set out to do.
But eventually our health declines if we don’t take care of it. Dr. Kell says, “most of us don’t think about our health until we don’t have it”. He wants to help us establish a healthy routine, to get us through dieting to the maintenance phase, where we can overcome self-doubt and be confident and healthy in our lifestyle.

What is health?
Well, that depends on who you ask. Some would define it as the absence of illness or injury, and others would say it is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being.
From the time we are little, we are taught to exercise and eat healthy. But often, the emotional part is forgotten. In fact, we are told not to cry, training us to suppress our emotions from an early age. We don’t realize how ignoring our emotions can contribute to addictions and sickness.
We often need help from a therapist, nutritionist, or other specialist to unlearn these behaviors. Sometimes it takes that extra nudge, guidance, and love from a person who can coach us and train us to reprogram our inner beliefs, because health is where the physical, emotional, and nutritional parts of us intersect. We all have them, and we can all heal them.
In our first episode we learned about Aha moments and how they influence our health and lifestyle. They help us to recognize when we have an issue and teach us what shifts we can make in our lives.
In today’s episode, #2, we will be talking about implementing this new way of life, how our health improves with it, what pitfalls to avoid, and what benefits we can expect, such as clear thinking, less pain, better moods, and greater success and happiness.

Aha moments – those moments of sudden insight or discovery. We’ve all had them, and often, they are preceded by challenging situations. They change us and move us forward in positive ways. It’s like we’re stumbling into a secret world of knowledge.
How did we not know this before? How come no one told us that we had the power to heal ourselves?
We’ve been gently nudged toward healthy living all our lives, but it usually takes a health crisis to smack us in the face, so we slow down enough to reflect and learn. We press pause on our busyness to stop and think about what we need to change.
The light bulb hits, aha moment sinks in, and our lives are better for it. We try to pass along the secret information to others, so they don’t have to suffer like we did. It only seems right. These lessons are to be shared, so let’s talk about them.
On today’s show, we’re learning about Dr. Kell’s life and how his aha moments influenced his path to health and wellness. He wants to help us recognize when we have an issue and teach us what we can do about it.
Welcome everybody and thanks for joining us on “Health Talk with Dr. Kell”. I’m your host, Niki Sterner, and today I want to talk about why we’re doing this podcast. I know I’m not the only one out there who has a sensitive body that needs a healthy lifestyle.
We are the canaries in the coal mine. We get sicker quicker from chemicals in our lives. We need clean food, clean air, clean water, and clean products. We’re sensitive souls that need to express our emotions and not suppress them. We suffer when our lives are out of balance. We’ve had chronic pain and fatigue that others may know nothing about.
When I first walked into Dr. Kell’s office, I was relieved to find someone who had similar holistic views of health. It’s nice when we don’t feel the need to defend ourselves or our beliefs. We don’t want to censor our words to fit in, which we often feel like we must do. It’s nice to be understood and accepted, not just tolerated. We like learning about things we can implement into our lives, that will keep us feeling well and living life how we want to. Life on our terms, unafraid and empowered.
Today we are going to hear from Dr. Kell about who he is and what this podcast will be about. He is a Chiropractic Doctor, Nutritionist, and Hypnotherapist. He has a degree in Aerospace Science, and he cares about people, their health, and the environment. He’s been practicing for over 30 years and wants to help us understand the triad of health in his office: physical, emotional, and nutritional. He is a mentor, healer, and friend who believes that health is a big part of happiness.
