Today, I'm bringing you a super quick but power-packed mini pod all about personal branding, inspired by my recent meeting with two fantastic yoga teachers.
What do yoga teachers and real estate pros have in common? Both are trusted advisors who create safe, transformative spaces for their clients. The trust built in the yoga studio can easily extend to other significant life events—like buying or selling a home. Creating trust and comfort with clients to guide them through yoga and make the practice positive and meaningful, is exactly what clients want when they are buying and selling a house, right?
The takeaway? Infuse your brand with your passion! Your personal brand is all about YOU—your reputation, your vibe, and how you make people feel. When you weave your passions into your business, you create authentic connections and attract your dream clients.

Welcome to our first KLT Mini-Pod! These mini-pods are meant to be short, sweet, and full of actionable insights you can apply immediately to your real estate business.
In this mini-pod, Carrie and I dive into a lively discussion about the importance of authenticity and consistency in personal branding. Our chat, sparked by Kate Middleton's recent faux pas and doctored photo, really hit home for us as real estate marketers. It got us thinking about the real essence of branding, which isn't just about your logo but your entire public persona—your reputation.
Here's what we want you to take away:
Focusing on your strengths and leaving the rest to those who do it best has immense power.
In real estate, one year without a sale can feel like an eternity. But for Diana Zaya, that tough year was a turning point. She leaned into data to help guide her path forward. She went on to close four million in sales the following year, which was a lot 25 years ago. It was at this point that Diana's love of data began.
Now leading Maverick Systems, Diana equips real estate brokerages with the tools to boost agent performance and retention and attract agents who fit into the organization's model and culture. The secret is understanding the metrics, deciphering the trends, and using them to carve out a competitive edge.
For those of you thinking, "Data, metrics, trends... that's not my language," you're not alone. I'll be the first to admit that data analysis isn't my strength. But here's the thing: it doesn't have to be. Diana has this way of translating data into actionable insights that even analytical minds can get behind. She's got a knack for narrowing in on the metrics that get to the root of any problem—or opportunity.
Diana believes that pinpointing the problem is half the battle. Once you've got that down, the path to resolution becomes a whole lot clearer. In this episode, Diana walks you through understanding customer personas and tailoring strategies to win new listings. So whether you're a Broker/Owner, seasoned agent, or just dipping your toes into the real estate market, tune in. Diana's insights might just transform how you look at your business—and your bottom line.

Today, we're diving into a topic that, let's be honest, doesn't get the spotlight it deserves – retiring from real estate without leaving money on the table or feeling lost.
Our special guest is Nancy Robinson, the VP of Sales at Christie's International Real Estate - Sereno in Northern, CA.
Nancy is uber passionate when it comes to preparing agents for a smooth and profitable retirement.
According to the National Association of REALTORS, the average age of a REALTOR is 57 and more than 65% of REALTORS are over age 50.
The reality is that many of these agents are hitting retirement age unprepared. Many agents find themselves at a crossroads, financially strapped or emotionally unready to step back, despite knowing it's time.
In this episode, Nancy addresses these head-on with practical steps like setting up a SEP IRA with automatic savings, keeping tabs on your source of business, marketing consistently to your SOI, and the importance of finding a mentor or coach. Plus, she talks about building a trustworthy alliance to pass the torch smoothly.
If you're a real estate agent or Broker/Owner or Manager who supports real estate agents, tune in and connect with Nancy.

In a refreshing twist, this week's episode of our podcast takes an exciting turn - and I'm confident you're going to love it! We're thrilled to present a podcast swap with the incredibly talented Katie Lance. I'm sharing one of my top picks from Katie's podcast collection. In this episode, she has a conversation with Stephanie Chumbley, the Director of Social Media and Education at Chicago Title in Portland, OR. Stephanie offers invaluable insights, particularly about content creation and mastering the art of time blocking. Here are my favorite pearls: 1. Harness the Power of Listening: Transform your listening skills into a content generation tool. Keep track of daily occurrences, note the questions you're asked, and weave these elements into your social media content. 2. Use Movement for Focus: Integrate movement into your routine. It's not just about physical health; it's a strategy to enhance grounding and focus, ultimately leading to more efficient time management. 3. Embrace Imperfection in Videos: Don't shy away from mistakes in your video content. Perfection isn't the goal; relatability is. Remember, being genuine and approachable resonates more than flawless execution.

What is the power of pause, why is it important, and what does it have to do with selling real estate? The power of the pause is an effective strategy for so many things. Pausing allows you to step back from the situation, gain awareness of your emotions and make different choices. When you take a moment to pause, you are, in effect, giving yourself the grace to act rather than react. Not only can it be a helpful relationship-building tool with family and friends, but it can also also be a powerful tool in business. Pausing in the middle of a negotiation allows you to regain control of the situation. In this episode, Betti's back, and she shares her strategies for pausing and how it helps her life and work.

When we think about a lender, we don't always consider how a great lender can be so valuable to our business. It's so much more than just getting to the closing table. A lender that puts their agent and client relationships first is going to go the extra mile. Our preferred lender, William Koedatich of Crown Home Mortgage, does just that. Will's biggest takeaways: 1. Team up with a great lender 2. Build a relationship with that lender and stay informed about the different options available to your clients 3. Sharpen your tools during a shifting market
Our biggest takeaway? Partner with Will! Not an agent? That's ok- there are plenty of nuggets here for you, too, so you can learn what to look for when choosing your lender.

Chelsea Peitz is a social media guru and Instagram QUEEN! Her goal is to make social media UNCOMPLICATED for real estate professionals by teaching us HOW to use social media to build a powerful personal brand. Chelsea gave us three strategies for building your personal brand on social:
1. Always give your perspective, advice, or opinion. Anyone can share market data, but only you can relay your point of view.
2. Tell me you're in the business without telling me you're in the business (think product placement). Your brand extends beyond selling homes.
3. Go to your profile. In one second, can someone describe who you are and what you're about? If not, start incorporating more of yourself.
Take a listen to this fun, feisty, and informative conversation.

It is Giving Season! This month Betti and I wanted to take a pause and recognize the work that local organizations like Table to Table are doing every day to support the people in their community. This week we spoke to Julie Kinner, VP of Operations from Table to Table. Table to Table started over 20 years ago with just a few volunteers who wanted to do something different to help people in need and make a huge difference in North Jersey. They now have over 200 food donors providing food to over 180 agencies to help feed the hungry. Table To Table is a prime example of an organization of people that genuinely care about their extended community and come from a place of giving. Oh, so very fitting for our Thanksgiving episode.
