The 2025 Formula 1 season is just around the corner, and Sam & Ed are back (yes, finally) with a look at all the driver movement. The big names on the move are Lewis Hamilton and Carlos Sainz (0:55), with Red Bull providing most of the driver drama in the wake of Sergio Perez’s departure (4:20). They also discuss Sam’s budding broadcasting career (2:30) and of course, a race that saw Ferrari go 1-2, McLaren go 3-4 and Max Verstappen watch from the pits after a DNF (5:45). The ep finishes with a spirited debate about the bottom teams, including the decision by Williams to put Alex Albon in Logan Sargeant’s car after only bringing just two chassis to Australia (17:00).

It started out with a whimper and ended with a bang. The much-hyped Las Vegas Grand Prix had plenty of issues but delivered a remarkable race under the neon lights of The Strip. Sam and Ed review a fascinating race that saw Max Verstappen win again, Charles Leclerc steal second place and Lando Norris crash out after a terrible weekend. There was also a manhole cover, a goofy gridwalk, and a 2am practice session.
Sam and Ed return from an unexpected break to assess the state of Formula 1 following the US and Mexico Grand Prix. Daniel Ricciardo returns with a bang and puts the pressure on Sergio Perez, who crashed out in front of his hometown fans. And there's plenty of drama around Aston Martin...will Lawrence Stroll sell the team? Does Lance Stroll have a future in F1?
Sam & Ed wrap up a Japanese Grand Prix that saw Max Verstappen return to the winners circle and McLaren go 2-3, with Aussie Oscar Piastri earning his first ever Formula 1 podium. BREAKING: Red Bull did not win a Formula 1 race. Sam and Ed are back with a look at the most exciting race of the year, the Singapore Grand Prix, which saw Ferrari’s Carlos Sainz finish first and Red Bull fail to podium. It was an extraordinary race, with tyre strategy, safety cars, double stacked pit stops and a four-man race to the very end. Sam and Ed also discuss Aussie Oscar Piastri and Kiwi Liam Lawson, and predict which drivers won’t be on the grid next year.
As we head into the summer break, Sam’s birthday and a rare Charles Leclerc podium are overshadowed by a Red Bull 1-2 and a disappointing Belgian Grand Prix for Aussie drivers Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo. A mega weekend for McLaren but Sam and Ed start things off with a warm welcome back to Australia’s favourite son Daniel Ricciardo, who returns to the F1 grid with Alpha Tauri. That news didn’t overshadow another Max Verstappen win or Lando Norris’ remarkable 2nd place finish at the British Grand Prix. His McLaren teammate Oscar Piastri finished 4th and Lewis Hamilton fired up the home fans with yet another Silverstone podium.
Max won his fifth F1 race in a row, but most of the talk after the Austrian Grand Prix was about track limits. Sam & Ed discuss the borderline farcical scenes as 20 track limit penalties were handed out. There was good news for Checo, Leclerc and Lando, but Lewis and Fernando weren't happy with their rides. It’s 100 Formula 1 victories for Red Bull as Max Verstappen wins the Canadian Grand Prix for the second year in a row. Sam and Ed and recap an interesting race that had some serious tyre strategy, a bit of on track improvement from Aston Martin, Mercedes and Ferrari, as well as an Unsportsmanlike Conduct penalty to Mr. Nice Guy, Lando Norris.
Sam and Ed wrap up a Spanish Grand Prix that didn’t have a chicane but did have a predictable finish as Max Verstappen won his third race in a row and looks set (already!) to win a third consecutive Drivers world championship. Mercedes had a fun weekend with a 2-3 finish, while Aston Martin, Ferrari and McLaren struggled. Sam laments the lack of a midfield battle and has some stern words for the stragglers.
Not even an earthquake in Melbourne could overshadow a Max Verstappen Monaco masterclass, as he turned in a remarkable qualifying lap on the way to a dominant win. It was also redemption time for Esteban Ocon, Nyck De Vries and McLaren, while Sergio Perez and Ferrari (the Leclerc Curse continues) had forgettable weekends.
Year two of the Miami Grand Prix and while it wasn't as glitzy and glamorous as last year, we still had the fake marina, LL Cool J's over-the-top driver introductions and clueless security guards manhandling Sir Jackie Stewart. Sam and Ed discuss the race as well as some bigger questions around the F1 season including whether or not the Drive To Survive crowd are still as invested.
The King of Baku, Sergio Perez, wins the Azerbaijan Grand Prix for the second time in three years, setting up a potential world championship battle with his Red Bull teammate Max Verstappen. That was one of the few highlights of a somewhat mundane race but Sam and Ed weigh in on the new sprint format, discuss the crazy scenes in pitlane at the end of the race and make their predictions for the weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.

It’s party time at The DRS Zone HQ with Sam still on Cloud 9 after his driver Charles Leclerc won the Austrian Grand Prix and Ed ecstatic after Haas scored double points for the second straight race. Leclerc hadn’t won since Melbourne and this puts him back in the championship chase, while Lewis Hamilton finished third for the third race in a row and Mick Schumacher drove to a remarkable sixth place finish. Another exciting race, but don’t get too fired up…the French Grand Prix is next.
It was a crazy British Grand Prix, starting with a frightening accident on Turn 1 and ending with a wheel-to-wheel battle that saw Carlos Sainz win his first ever F1 race. Ed and Sam are back in Melbourne after two weeks in the US and they’re well rested and raring to go after pulling a near all-nighter to watch the red-flagged race.
It took some doing but Ed & Sam manage to sneak in a (mini) podcast after watching the Canadian Grand Prix while at a wedding in Denver. It was a pretty good weekend overall for the big three of Red Bull, Mercedes and Ferrari, while McLaren continued to struggle and Haas blew a great chance at a big finish. The British Grand Prix is next and the boys think it will be a Verstappen v Leclerc battle.

Sam and Ed try to make sense of the crazy finish at Yas Marina that saw Max Verstappen edge out Lewis Hamilton to win his first world championship amidst some controversial decisions by under fire FIA race director Michael Masi. Fair result? Possibly not. Good for Formula 1? Probably.
The heat is well and truly on both Mercedes and Red Bull, with Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen level on points heading into the season ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Ed & Sam look ahead to that mouth watering battle and wrap up an insane Saudi Arabian race that saw crashes, red flags, angry exchanges and safety cars, both real and virtual.
The first ever Qatar Grand Prix was another big win for a rampaging Lewis Hamilton, although Max Verstappen managed to limit the damage with a second place finish. Ed & Sam wrap up an interesting race that also featured a number of punctured tyres, a remarkable podium finish for Fernando Alonso and another disappointing result for Daniel Ricciardo.
Everybody's fighting: Lewis & Max, Toto Wolff & Christian Horner, Mercedes & Red Bull, the teams & the FIA…and things are getting heated after a Hamilton masterclass. Ed and Sam wrap up Sao Paulo Grand Prix, look ahead to the final three races of the year and offer some creative tiebreakers in case Max and Lewis end the season on the same number of points.
Sam and Ed try to avoid being 'Tsunoda'd' as they wrap up the Mexican (er, Mexico City) Grand Prix which saw Max Verstappen win again and Sergio Perez put on a show for his home fans by finishing third. There's also praise for Pierre, confusion around another Bottas start and some bold predictions ahead of the upcoming Brazilian(er, Sao Paulo)Grand Prix.
The US Grand Prix was a success on many levels – 400,000 fans through the gate, Daniel Ricciardo in his pseudo-Texan element – but it was especially sweet for Red Bull. Max Verstappen hold off a late charge from Lewis Hamilton, while Sergio Perez finished on the podium again, as the battle between Mercedes and Red Bull looks like it will go down to the wire. Once again Ed has to take a backseat to Sam after he predicted the 1-2 finish, narrowly missing the trifecta with Charles Leclerc ending up fourth.
Ed and Sam assess a Turkish Grand Prix long on tyre strategy and short on racing drama. Even Max Verstappen admitted he was a bit bored. Sam was on the money again with his podium predictions, although his ‘keep an eye on Vettel’ tip didn’t really amount to much. And it's "kippis" to Valtteri Bottas, with the Finn giving Mercedes an important win. His countryman Kimi Raikkonen, meanwhile, continues his record-setting 'swearing on the radio' pace, with a profanity laden critique of Alfa Romeo's hydration system.
Sam and Ed recap a dramatic Russian Grand Prix that nearly saw McLaren win back-to-back races. But the rain came and washed away Lando Norris’ hopes for a first-ever Grand Prix win in heartbreaking fashion. And after all the weather forecasts, pit stops and tyre changes, it was business as usual, with Lewis Hamilton winning his 100th Formula 1 race and Max Verstappen finishing second.
Shoey! Shoey! Shoey! Ed and Sam wrap up an incredible Italian Grand Prix that saw Aussie hero Daniel Ricciardo come out on top in what was a 1-2 finish for McLaren. And a week after Sam predicted a 'Verstappen DNF,' the Dutchman collided with Lewis Hamilton and neither of them finished the race. Pour your favourite drink into your shoe, kick back and listen!

The Scottish band Wet Wet Wet should have sung the national anthem for this rain-soaked Belgian Grand Prix that lasted about as long as it takes to make a cup of tea. Loyal fans at the circuit waited in the downpour, while in Melbourne, Ed and Sam entertained themselves on their couches by watching Haas beat Aston Martin in futsal and Daniel Ricciardo start a wave. The two-lap ‘race’ did throw up some drama, with a fascinating qualifying session setting up Max Verstappen for the win, with George Russell doing an incredible job to finish second and take his first-ever podium.
Ed and Sam wrap up a chaotic Hungarian Grand Prix that was red flagged after the first turn. Were the punishments handed out to Bottas and Stroll too lenient? Have Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton positioned themselves to win it all once again? And what about the surprises... Williams scoring points, Vettel getting DQ'd and Hamilton alone on the grid: lights out and away he goes.
It's our longest episode yet after an insane race that saw Lewis Hamilton run Max Verstappen off the track but still win his 8th British GP. Charles Leclerc nearly gift-wrapped a 13th birthday present for Sam but still finished 2nd. Plenty of thoughts and opinions on Hamilton's move, the Sprint qualifying and Seb Vettel helping pick up rubbish, as well as another appearance by "Mr. London" Tom Cruise.
