WSHC Shepherdstown's dumbest sports radio show. Dylan Bishop and Ryan Stickel discuss the latest happenings in the sports world from the national to the local while embracing whatever off-topic tangents and impromptu guests may pop up.
Shepherd’s defense is cooked. The Ravens got dominated in the trenches. The Steelers only beat the Patriots off turnovers. WVU couldn’t meet the standard of “just don’t be horrible”.
At least some other teams had some fun this weekend.
The football went better than expected for us as fans this weekend...except the Steelers. We break down the controversial Shepherd loss to Slippery Rock, WVU's win over Pitt, and see whatever findings week can get out of a 2 game NFL sample size.
NFL Week 1 is in the books and it was full of excitement. The Steelers and Jets had a shootout, the Ravens blew another lead, and the Dolphins look like they could hit rock bottom.
We go game-by-game to give our thoughts on the start of the season and give a quick look forward to week 2, Shepherd vs. Slippery Rock, and WVU vs Pitt.
Shepherd football had a rough season opener. How worried should we be? At least WVU looked a lot better. And hey, the NFL starts tomorrow! So it’s time for a season preview, along with a sidebar on the Micah Parsons trade and Jerry Jones.
Russell Goodacre enters the 10-timers club as he's back again for a Shepherd and D2 football season, and this time, with some new friends: long-time Shepherd athletics photographers John and Pam Boyle! We talk to them about their time around the school, their pictures, running fan pages, and of course, the 2025 Shepherd Rams. Then, Russ shares with us some exclusive anonymous thoughts from a football player affected by the Shepherd compliance issues, before taking a trip around the national D2 landscape, with a bonus Shepherd history lesson at the end.
We're one week into the NBA offseason, which means the dust has settled on most of the action. We bring in Nick Arguelles to help us go team by team breaking down what they've done and where they stand including
the Bucks taking out a 2nd mortgage
The Face of Amazon Prime Day LeBron James might want traded
The Nets missed a whole 100 shots
The Wizards' future is...optimistic?
and more!
The Oklahoma City Thunder are NBA Champions. Ahead of schedule. And set up for the future. The Pacers made it so incredibly stressful in an awesome NBA Finals. We're here to talk about it from all angles and look forward to the NBA offseason, which is already off to a hot start with the KD trade and the Celtics shedding pieces of their core.
Ryan’s Knicks couldn’t get it done against the Pacers in the conference finals, but now Indy takes on Dylan’s Thunder in the championship.
We start from the Knicks perspective as news of Tom Thibodeau’s firing has just broken - why it was the right decision, and what comes next for New York, and what it shows for the finals, as HD teams up to dissect OKC vs. Indiana.
Both of our NBA teams have made it to the conference finals so we have comprehensive previews of both series on tap as they get ready to begin.
Our other teams? Could be better! The Orioles fired their manager and the Shepherd Rams will have to vacate wins, stats, and records after NCAA violations.
That, and more.
After the universe sent us many signs to delay our recording, we finally gotten an upload to talk about the latest happenings of the NBA playoffs, where all of the home teams are falling apart in the 4th quarter. We also finally catch up on the NFL draft, and break down the release of Justin Tucker and the trade of George Pickens.
Russell Goodacre comes out of the bullpen to join Dylan as he gives his current full 1st round mock draft 48 hours away from the NFL Draft. Russ is also here for Shepherd spring game thoughts, hockey talk (!), the NBA playoffs, and the horrors of Charlie Morton.
It's our 6th annual QB draft show with Derrik Klassen (can you believe it?). Unfortunately, the QBs kinda stink this year, but we know that's not gonna stop NFL teams from taking them too high, so we need to know what's up, from the underrating of Cam Ward, the curious case of Sheduer Sanders, and the unseriousness of Jaxson Dart, and more!
Followed by Shepherd spring game notes, courtesy of Russell Goodacre, an NBA check in, and the worst case yet of the NCAA fumbling the NIL process with Nico Iamaleava.
Dylan is back with another NFL draft prognostication special, 13 days out from Round 1. It looks like Shedeur Sanders is going to fall down the boards, but how far? All that, and more.
We welcome back ball-knower Steven Ruiz to get into the stuff he gets paid the big bucks for: that's right, college basketball. It's bracket time and Steve is here to help us build a bracket with the right vibes and talk some sense into WVU fans.
Shepherd men's basketball hosted the PSAC championship out of nowhere! We give some props to the Rams for their run to the title game before giving our comprehensive thoughts on the first few days of NFL free agency.
Basketball is our favorite sport. We like the way they dribble up and down the court.
Should the Sixers just blow it up? Podcast P is cooked but apparently the Knicks guys need to stop their podcast too. We're not so sure...
The Knicks can't beat the elite teams in the NBA, but maybe that's ok. Meanwhile, the Thunder rule, and jesus man Luka Doncic and LeBron James are teammates. We explore how it actually has deeper ramifications across all of sports. AND...Shepherd basketball playoff time is here! And they're in it!
Unfortunately a lot to talk about on this one. Justin Tucker, the NFL playoffs, a look forward to the offseason for a few teams that fell short, and trade talk for Jimmy Butler and De'Aaron Fox in the NBA.
The NFL regular season has concluded, and the playoffs feel pretty wide open. We break down every game of SUPER WILD CARD WEEKEND and take a few minutes to make a very simple fix to the NBA's ratings concerns.
He's coming home. That's right, Bill Belichick is coming home to Chapel Hill to coach UNC and Taylor Vippolis joins us to break that down, vent about the Knicks, and get laughed at for Juan Soto joining the Mets.
Oh yeah, and I guess Rich Rodriguez is back at WVU too.
AND: Shepherd basketball first impressions for 2024-25.
Shepherd football's season is over and uh oh the transfer portal is full of Rams. How concerned should we be and what is the outlook on SU football moving forward.
Also: Shepherd women's soccer and volleyball are killing it, and the grind of the NFL season continues on.
Shepherd is 5-4. They lost to Bloomsburg again. People are starting to talk about sweeping changes needing to be made. Are they fair or do we need to pump the brakes?
We also check in on the NFL as they reach mid-season and examine just how wrong people are about which fictional characters would vote for who in the election.
It's basketball season again! Time for our proper NBA preview with Nick Arguelles back again to talk about the spike in unlikability the Celtics took this summer and look around at the league for who will take a step back or a leap forward.
Friends of the Show Russ and Nick are back for a loaded episode after a few weeks off. The Orioles officially disappointed, the Knicks traded for an all-star, the New York Jets exist, and Shepherd had an identity crisis-inducing loss. Featuring an accidental mini NBA preview.
A good week of football finally happened for us! Shepherd won, but there's things to improve on. Justin Fields still looks good. The Ravens didn't blow a lead (they almost did!). And people are being incredibly dumb as usual about quarterbacks.
Shepherd fell in a disappointing outing against Slippery Rock. We dive into the ailments of Rams football currently before taking a look at 2 very different starts to the season for our NFL teams. Will Justin Fields stay the starter? And are the Ravens ok?
Here's your week-late NFL preview, mostly revolving around Producer Garett's incredible QB ranking list which disgusted and astounded us multiple times.
Then: Shepherd football home opener time! Slippery Rock comes to town Saturday after an impressive shutout victory in the season opener.
It's that time of year again: Shepherd Football season. The Rams are back and so are we, with our resident D2 football correspondent Russell Goodacre and former WRNR and TV10 analyst Matt Crawford to form a reunion of WSHC's Shepherdstown Sports Nuts and break down the upcoming Shepherd football season.
The MLB trade deadline was full of wheeling and dealing, and although there weren't many blockbusters, a lot of STUFF happened. The Orioles definitely did a lot, but how much did it mean?
Our MLB expert Nick Page joined us to give us all the details on the O's, his Pirates, and the league as a whole.
The dust from the NBA's free agent frenzy has settled. Let's look through each team's offseason and see what they've done (or not done), shall we?
It’s like we never left. Because we didn’t, what are you talking about? The Celtics won the title but they’re so boring who cares. The Lakers drafted Bronny. The Knicks made a huge splash. OKC made a small splash. Should the Suns trade KD? Paul George could leave LA. The draft kinda stunk. The NBA offseason is here!
We only took a week off and yet the NBA playoff landscape has completely shifted. We’re a game away from a Mavericks-Celtics finals…or 3 away from a hilarious collapse. Either way: the Celtics HAVE to win this ring. Side bars on all-time NBA top 10s and some offseason talk for the recently eliminated Pacers, Knicks, and Thunder.
The NBA conference semis gave us a good jumping off point to talk about Nikola Jokic and NBA legacy narratives, our annual check-in on the state of modern television, and once again we fix the NFL and their schedule.
The rap beef of the century came to a head this week, and who better to analyze it than 3 white dudes. Before that, we checked in on the NBA playoffs as the 2nd round kicked off. Nick Arguelles pops in with us to talk real hip hop and real hoops.
Just like last year, we were too busy to do a full draft week episode, so once again, Dylan is here to give you his final* mock draft on the eve of the NFL Draft.
A tradition unlike any other: it’s the @QBKlass QB draft class special. We examine just how special Caleb Williams could be and whether we’ve failed to appreciate him lately. Also the age old question: what are the Commanders doing? And why are we overthinking Drake Maye? Should the Pats and Commanders even take quarterbacks? And did you know JJ McCarthy is likeable? Followed by a quick NBA playoff/play-in preview.
It’s the spring sports solstice. March Madness, MLB Opening Day, the final stretch of the NBA regular season, and NFL Draft lying season. We do our best to hit it all, including the Shohei Ohtani interpreter scandal.
We’re one work week into NFL free agency and to avoid falling too far behind the ball, Dylan hops on the mic to catch up on what has happened so far and to check in on the state of NFL draft rumors in a solo ramble special.
After a short hiatus, we’ve returned to start jumping into the NFL offseason by looking at the QB carousel. Before that though, Producer Garett gives us an F1 update, which somehow leads to us having an existential crisis on behalf of the cars from the movie Cars.
The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. We’ve been saying that a lot, huh? We might have to keep saying it. We attack the game from all angles and look at what’s ahead for both teams long-term. Can anyone stop the Chiefs? And of course we didn’t forget some NBA All-Star Weekend talk.
Our favorite new yearly tradition: The Super Bowl Preview/NBA Trade Deadline Recap Show!!! We dive deep into both, why Super Bowl prop bets are stupid, how aimless the Raptors seem, and oh yeah, the Orioles have an ace now.
We're down to just 4 teams in the NFL. In 3 days, we will know who will be in the Super Bowl. We take a look back at the divisional round, give some eliminated teams their due, and check up on the coaching carousel before looking ahead to Sunday. Oh also, the Bucks fired their coach lol.
Super Wild Card Weekend wasn’t very wild but we definitely got to laugh at some embarrassment. Justis Mosqueda returns to join us in tearing down the Cowboys, Eagles, and Dolphins and look ahead to the divisional round. Afterwards, we trade LeBron to the Knicks.
Super Wildcard Weekend is here! And live from Oakland (Maryland), Luke returns to talk through the opening playoff games with us, as well as the all-time crazy coaching carousel we’re getting with Belichick, Carroll, Vrabel, Saban, (and Jim Harbaugh?) all leaving their teams.
A Saturday snow day edition of the pod welcomes DC Correspondent Nick Arguelles back into town to give a quick Wizards report before taking a look at the continued success of OKC and the new-look Knicks after trading for OG Anunoby. Then it’s time: the final week of the NFL regular season starts today. We take a look across the league at playoff scenarios, including accidentally coming up with the worst playoff possible.
The Ravens absolutely whooped the 49ers on Christmas Night and now Lamar Jackson is the favorite to win MVP. What did we learn, if anything? We can’t dwell on it for too long though, as week 17 is up next and even more important. The CFP is fast approaching and no one seems to care. The Pistons…oh god the Pistons. Finally: what is our sports “Roman Empire”?
The NFL season is coming into the home stretch. With that, comes surprisingly relevant and important games for some teams, and matchups between top contenders. We dive into last week and this upcoming week to preview Dolphins vs Cowboys and the Christmas main event, Ravens vs 49ers.
Draymond did it again. What does the NBA and/or the Warriors need to do about it? The Dolphins lost to the Titans and boy do the waters look choppy from here. We take a look around the NFL and NBA and wonder why the Dodgers are allowed to commit white collar crime.
After our extended Thanksgiving break, we’re back to put the Shepherd football season to bed, be aghast at the CFP committee taking the wrong path to giving us more entertaining games, and examining the NFL landscape top to bottom. Then we take time to be confused about the NBA in-season tournament, the Orlando Magic, and why so many people are coming for the head of Shepherd basketball coach Justin Namolik.
Welcome to playoff szn. Shepherd is in! But…not where we expected. Russell Goodacre returns to break down the entire D2 football playoff tournament, including our own bracket predictions! And we figured it out…we do indeed have a Bills problem.
Shepherd’s big win over East Stroudsburg has them firmly in “win and you’re in” territory for the playoffs. We look at the scenarios and rankings to decide if a home game is still within reach and complain about the NCAA’s new streaming setup for the D2 playoffs. We also jump back into the NFL after week 10 and do a vibe check on Caleb Williams after the narrative machine blew up on him this week.
The NFL trade deadline was this week and seemingly in response, 100 weird things happened this week. Half the league’s QB situations are in shambles. The Bears were buyers? The Raiders fired everyone. We give our 10,000 foot view of the league at midseason. Shepherd…brother…what happened? Also James Harden is finally a Clipper.
The Ringer’s Steven Ruiz returns to fend off tomatoes from Shepherd fans and give his actually positive breakdown of Tyson Bagent in his first NFL start, as well as addressing some other assorted topics across the league such as Lamar, Sam Howell, Matt Canada, and of course, Brock Purdy. Then we give our NBA season preview, which was somehow mostly about Wizards ticket prices.
Live from Luke’s house once again, we bring you an on-location HD mostly about the best music that white people absolutely love. And also some football talk I guess. Some other things. Shepherd. Sure. Where’s Dancing Queen on your list?
The MLB playoffs are upon us. The Rays are big fat losers. We actually talk about baseball for real now, can you believe it? We look into the Orioles’ chances to go far in October before jumping into a potentially grim October for the Steelers. Ravens look good though! Our brain was empty after that Shepherd game on Saturday, we explain, and look at the postseason forecast for the 4-1 Rams. Also: the Celtics got Jrue Holiday! We dip a toe into NBA talk as the season sneaks up on us.
After a cruel summer waiting for Damian Lillard to get traded, the Heat somehow lost out on the sweepstakes and Giannis and Dame are new romantics now, but it’s the Blazers that look like the foolish ones. Oh and I guess Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are a thing now. You know we have a full breakdown. The Orioles are upon Clinchmas Eve too. And…could there be some changes coming in the Bears QB room? And can Shepherd hold on to the damn football?
The Rams are here. After 2 questionable weeks, we’ve figured out the 2023 Shepherd football team: it’s the same very good football as usual. It was a great sports weekend overall with the Orioles, Backyard Brawl, and NFL all panning out in our favor. Btw…what the hell is happening with the Chicago Bears.
It just flies by. Shepherd is 2-0! How impressed and/or concerned are we through 2 weeks? Also: Shepherd is getting a new AD; we give our thoughts. The NFL is officially back too and we already have a Jets problem again.
The NFL season is here! Our pal Luke joins us to give us his NFL power rankings and of course Producer Garett has an insane one of his own as part of our season preview. Shepherd is through week 1 and…whew boy that wasn’t what we saw coming. Let’s assess the situation.
Welcome to game week. College football is BACK! Just 3 days from Shepherd’s opener, we focus on how to maximize the Shepherdstown and Ram Stadium gameday vibes, the atmosphere, and buddy we have ideas. Tyson Bagent is officially QB2 in Chicago, what a world. Unfortunately the Orioles vibes are worse, as Felix Bautista could be done for the year. We will find God himself to fix this if need be.
Football is so back. After media day and a scrimmage, we’re just 10 days away from Shepherd football. Our resident D2 football expert Russell Goodacre is back to help us preview the 2023 season, as well as taking a look at all the hype Tyson Bagent garnered after preseason game 2. Also we check back in with the Orioles (the bullpen is still bad).
The boys are back in town, in person, to watch Tyson Bagent’s NFL pre-season debut and give an update on the Shepherd Rams in pre-season before going in on John Angelos for the Kevin Brown situation and…everything else involving his Orioles ownership.
The Orioles made trades for pitching! Are we satisfied…meh. We give a State of the Franchise address for the O’s before attempting to solve the RB Problem in the NFL. This episode syncs up perfectly with the Barbie movie, trust us.
We’re on our way to Camden Yards to watch the red hot Orioles try to get into a share of first place in the AL East against the Dodgers. They’re so close to being a real title contender but they’re a juuuust a couple pieces away. We discuss those pieces. You know who’s a good piece? Shohei Ohtani. Will LA trade him? Should they? How Joever is it for the Angels? (very)
Damian Lillard listened to us and finally requested a trade, and boy he REALLY requested one. Nick Arguelles joins us to give his Wizards thoughts, bully Dame for doing a total 180 and demanding a trade to Miami, and check in on James Harden. Then Producer Garett gives us another great Top 10 list, this time his top 10 GOATs. Don’t follow us on Threads, we’re not there.
It’s Dame Time (time for Dame to get on with it and request a trade). Let’s cut to the chase and get this trade done. Much like the Celtics and Warriors did this week getting Porzingis and Chris Paul. Eat Golden Corral.
We willed a Bradley Beal trade into existence, just to the wrong team and the Wizards got absolutely nothing for him. Did the Suns actually make themselves any scarier with the move? Are the Wizards actually fine now? We look at the Beal trade, along with where the Heat go after not making a trade, and assess why the Blazers are still holding on hope with Lillard like the Wizards were.
The Nuggets won the NBA Finals in about as convincing of fashion as we expected and there’s no signs they’ll slow down. Nikola Jokic may already be a top 20 player of all time. Where do we stand moving forward? What can the Heat do from here? Trading for Bradley Beal sounds fun. The Wizards are unserious anyway. And there’s other NBA offseason silliness ahead.
The NBA Finals have arrived but we kind of previewed it last week (and nearly looked silly) so we open the show talking about important matters: television. Hope you enjoy our comprehensive review of Barry and the rest of the entertainment we’re enjoying this week, along with the state of streaming content today. Then it’s Celtics outlook time. Mazzulla and Jaylen: what do we do? (nothing, probably). And what can the Heat do to win the Finals? (probably nothing).
The NBA Finals are nearly set with the Nuggets awaiting probably the up 3-1 Miami Heat. Is Jokic simply too powerful to be stopped? LeBron floated the idea of retiring but it’s hard to buy right now. It’s a good excuse though to litigate Producer Garett’s top 10 NBA players of all time; an absurd list that inevitably breaks down into a Jordan vs. LeBron discussion. Then we get Garett’s top 10 NFL QBs of all time, another fun one.
The NBA season is over and the San Antonio Spurs are your 2023 champions…right? That wasn’t what happened this week? Oh yeah I guess the conference finals are happening. But first we have to talk about Victor Wembanyama and the validity of the draft as a concept. Should we just get rid of it? Also we literally have to do the Sixers Failure and Ja Morant Stupidity Episode for the second time this spring. Awesome.
Russell Goodacre makes his triumphant return to the show to tell us about his new book Tackling Dyslexia and Learning Disabilities and for our deep dive back into the NBA playoffs, where the Bucks and Clippers go after early exits, and the legacy of Steph Curry. A link to order Russell’s book: https://store.bookbaby.com/book/tackling-dyslexia-and-learning-disabilities
The Lamar Jackson contract saga is finally over. No one guest to break it down than Noah Hose of the For The Flock YouTube channel. We assess where the Ravens stand after the draft with Lamar locked up long-term and then go on to the NFL Draft itself and the chaos there, our winners, and also the Lions. Then it’s an NBA Playoffs check-in on the Knicks and our chance to clown on Dillon Brooks.
A quick solo venture from Dylan to map out his predictions for the top of the 2023 NFL Draft. How will the top 10 shake out and where will our beloved Shepherd Rams be selected during this weekend?
The annual HD QB Draft Class Special is back, with a new twist. As always, Derrik Klassen joins us to make us smart and informed on the football aspects of the QBs in this year’s NFL Draft, but now we have the Vibe Check Expert Susan Harris to sus out which QBs are psychos. You won’t find more comprehensive coverage on Anthony Richardson’s religion, Josh Allen’s infidelity, and the projections of the top selections of the draft than you’ll find here.
It’s our unofficial NBA playoff preview, in which we focus a lot on a team that might not actually make it past the play-in because they’re a dumpster fire where players are punching everything in sight. MVP takes, Finals predictions, and entertaining series to hope for. Also our takes on Odell Beckham to the Ravens
It’s a mailbag episode! Our listener-submitted questions took us to some fun places: our favorite sports moments (Shepherd and otherwise), baseball somehow, comparing the SEC to chicken restaurants, and our Top 5 Nicks. But first: the NBA playoff race is heating up.
The Shepherd Pro Day was today! Dylan gives his breakdown from being on the scene, but not before we talk about the most absurd Final Four there’s ever been. Also: Lamar Jackson requested a trade this week…but does it actually mean anything?
March Madness is here and it’s time for our upset specials. This episode title is in honor of the Lamar Jackson saga, the Aaron Rodgers situation, and this episode itself as we dive into NFL free agency and also the Oscar’s as if anyone asked.
What the hell is Ja Morant doing? We get in some extended NBA talk for the first time in a while before moving on to the NFL Combine. Should the Lions and Seahawks want Anthony Richardson? Does Derek Carr actually move the needle? And which franchise tag should the Ravens give Lamar?
The NFL offseason is heating up. It’s NFL Combine week. How much should we care? What should the Bears do at #1? How are the Colts not consistently worse? We look at incoming Eagles and Vikings regressions. And finally: Lamar Jackson rumors are flying around everywhere. And it’s getting worrisome. With an NBA roundup to top things off.
A most special of editions of Highly Disputed: the big man on campus himself, Shepherd QB Tyson Bagent joins us to talk about Shepherd, the Senior Bowl, the NFL Combine, and how his hometown community has affected his life. And some shenanigans of course.
Our good pal Susan Harris joins the show to give us a woman’s perspective on the quarterbacks of the NFL, seeing if they pass the vibe check. Then she gives us her burning, crowdsourced questions the world of non-sports watching women are wondering about sports bros. And a debate on the cinematic merit of the original Top Gun.
We’re pre-gaming the Big Game. Luke McGoldrick and Friends of the Show Garett, Mikayla, and Shep join us to break down Chiefs vs. Eagles and give our final predictions. Also giving our late breakdown of Tyson Bagent’s Senior Bowl performance and the Kevin Durant trade at the NBA trade deadline.
We were out being groomsmen in a big time Friend of the Show wedding so here’s a mid-Pro Bowl edition on the legacy of Tom Brady, intertwined with the potential legacy game of Mahomes coming next week before we get into…why it may not be that legacy changing game in the end. Kyrie to Dallas talk too I guess.
It’s a huge week for Shepherd basketball. Coming off an upset of a top 15 ranked team, they are right in the thick of the PSAC East race and we have many thoughts and words on the matter. And it’s conference title weekend. We break down both games, including why we just can’t get on the Bengals train.
Our first ever Sunday show comes to you in the middle of the NFL Divisional Round. Greg Roman is finally gone, Brandon Staley somehow isn’t, the best teams have been the best teams, and why Super Bowl 36 may tell us the result of Super Bowl 57.
It’s Super Wildcard Weekend! And boy…it sure looks super huh. We break down every game as much as feels necessary and work our way through our entire playoff predictions. Along the way we stop to evaluate the Lamar Jackson situation and tell Bengals fans to grow up. Before all that, listen, we gotta talk about Vince McMahon possibly selling WWE to Saudi Arabia.
The new year is here and that means the basketball season finally feels real. We start off with some Shepherd hoops talk before transitioning into the obvious huge story of the week in the Demar Hamlin situation - how the NFL had no plan for something like this and why Skp Byless is still around for some reason.
We promised a New Year’s episode. Well…here it is. Hope you weren’t looking forward to something enlightening.
A special Snow Day edition of HD on a Thursday afternoon right before Christmas. We jump back into the NFL after ignoring it on the show for a month and break down Ronnie Brown’s decision to declare for the draft. Not before railing against the state of popular entertainment in America today of course.
Shepherd got smoked by a bunch of nerds in the national semis. We look at just what the hell happened, appreciate the fun we’ve had this season, and take a good, long look at what’s ahead next year. Who’s back, what new faces we could see, and what to expect. Somehow we found time to fix the NBA schedule too.
The play-by-play voice of Shepherd Rams football and men’s basketball on TV10 and WRNR TV Nick Verzolini joins us for one last retrospective on the party of a regional championship game that was the 48-13 win over IUP for the Rams before giving you the whole-hog breakdown of Shepherd’s national semifinal matchup against Colorado School of Mines. How do you stop John Matocha? How healthy are Shepherd’s WRs? Will altitude be a big factor? How many hours per year is Chic-Fil-A open?
Dylan and Ryan are joined by the man, the myth, the legend Travis “The Beast” Bagent, the father of Shepherd quarterback Tyson Bagent to talk with him about Shepherd making it back to another regional championship game in a PSAC title rematch against IUP. Also on the docket: the legacy of Tyson at Shepherd, his path to the NFL, and the potential future of Tyson’s younger brother Ezra as his high school career ends. We wanted to run through a wall during and after this one.
Happy Turkey Day Eve. First piece of business: why on earth do the Lions play on Thanksgiving every year? Why are we keeping up this charade? The Cowboys too, who cares. Also, who does Zach Wilson think he is? After our NFL talk, we get back to more important matters: Shepherd vs Slippery Rock in the D2 round of 16.
Our resident D2 football expert, former Shepherd QC assistant Russell Goodacre joins the show to give us a full-fledged preview of all 4 regions of the D2 football playoffs, including Shepherd’s chances through each round after we give our analysis of the Rams’ first loss of the year in the PSAC title game. Before that: an impromptu preview of Shepherd basketball as we complain about our ability to view the game in progress during our recording session.
HD is live on the scene at the QFs of the PSAC volleyball tournament as Shepherd hosts West Chester. You know what that means: for the first time in a while, it’s volleyball talk! Then we break down the PSAC football title game vs IUP on Saturday and find out live on air that Tyson Bagent has made the Senior Bowl.
Logan Rothstein makes a triumphant return to the show with his Tennessee Vols coming in at #1 in the first CFP ranking ahead of their big matchup with Georgia on Saturday, so obviously we spend most of our time discussing Tom Brady’s plastic surgery, CFB bowl game sponsors, and grading XFL team names. Actual timely topics such as the NFL trade deadline, The Nets being the Nets, and of course, the Shepherd Rams, are also brought to the forefront at some point I guess.

The Ringer’s Steven Ruiz makes his return to become a Friend of the Show in record time and actually talk about real football this time, specifically his weekly QB rankings that have had the internet yelling at him every week. After he departs, we check in on the NBA and CFB before looking forward for Shepherd football and Dylan calls his shot on their trajectory.

Justis Mosqueda of SBNation’s Packers site Acme Packing Company joins the show to give a diagnosis of the problems in Green Bay before The Ringer’s Steven Ruiz and Yahoo’s Charles McDonald drop in unannounced to bully Justis about our online Madden franchise after Justis finally won a Super Bowl after years of disappointment. There’s some other stuff sprinkled in, actual IRL football, the New Orleans Pelicans, $28 Taco Bell, and Shepherd football, but Madden Pals 7.0 really took this thing over for a while.

The fellas are back and here to break down all of your favorite parts of football - that’s right, logos, Grand Valley State vs Ferris State, the Utah Tech Trailblazers, and the Chadron State Eagles. Oh yeah, Tennessee vs. Alabama and some NFL talk as well. Also, the NBA starts next week? Where’d that come from?

Kansas is good at football. JMU might be even better. The Fun Belt is back. Shepherd is still much better than WVU. We also figure out what we’ve actually learned about the NFL through 4 weeks: the Ravens are losing games they shouldn’t, Mitch Trubisky is bad, the Jaguars aren’t, and Tom Brady doesn’t have the cholesterol to be out here.

Resident Texas Expert Terrance Anderson returns to the show once more to talk to us about his Falcons, his horrific fantasy football lineup, the frauds of the NFL, the smooth sailing Shepherd Rams, Florida Georgia Line I guess, and, of course, the weather. He’s got mail coming for us apparently. It’s a bit frightening. But also…exciting.
The Shepherd Rams continue to be the only good football team at any level other than the Bills. And the Eagles I guess. Expanded CFB Playoff talk kicks us off before diving into Tyson Bagent’s draft stock, trouble in Indianapolis, the inevitable cliff Derrick Henry is barreling towards, and much more.
Football is back, and so are we, with some special guests: Friend of the Show Nick Arguelles and co-host of the Sports Mix on WRNR Spencer DuPuis. We talk about the beginning of the NFL season including Commander Carson, the ugly Steelers-Bengals game, and the Joe Flacco non-revenge game. Then we let our frustrations with Neal Brown out, let Spencer let loose about Marshall, and wonder whether Ronnie Brown will cost Tyson Bagent another Harlon Hill Award and win it himself. The Rams are back.
This long-awaited special is here. Friend of The Show Mikayla Gilmer makes her return to take over the show and breakdown the first half of season 19 of The Bachelorette with us. We go through episodes 1-5 including the reel of shitty gag entrances, Dylan calling his shot on Tino, oh damn Rachel’s crying again, and The Logan Tier. Idk how long we expected this to take but here’s our feature-length debut.
The unthinkable has happened. The face of professional wrestling Vince McMahon has retired…or resigned in shame, depending on who you ask. We bring along our good pal Jake Long to bring some extra wrestling fan knowledge to the table as we discuss what this means for WWE and the pro wrestling industry at large, expectations for Triple H as the new head of the WWE creative team, and the legacy of Vince McMahon himself.
We’re back to follow up on our previous episode in which it was laid out to us why Coach Jenna Eckleberry left Shepherd University. We address the fallout from our interview in which sone feathers were ruffled and give our take on the entire situation more so than we were able to in real time.
Friend of the Show Marley McLaughlin, now graduated from Shepherd women’s basketball captain to now Frostburg State assistant women’s basketball coach, joins the show and she has…a lot of things she wants to get off her chest. She takes us through just how Shepherd foolishly allowed Coach Eckleberry to depart to Frostburg, along with her transition from basketball player to basketball coach, the Bobcats squad, and more. Then, surprise! A second guest! It’s the former voice of Shepherd sports broadcasts Avery Newport, someone we should’ve had on a long time ago. We recap his Shepherd career and talk about the magic of Orioles baseball. That’s right, actual baseball analysis. Hell has frozen over.
Live from Ryan’s car, it’s our worst idea yet: a podcast from a moving vehicle. We had to get our takes off about Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving being on the verge of being traded. We also confront Garett about his lack of movie knowledge, get an F1 report from him, speak on the trades and potential future trades of the Jazz, and list our favorite MCU movies & video games.
Abby Beeman makes her triumphant return to HD to become an official Friend of The Show and with another new title as well: Marshall University Point Guard. We get the lowdown on her transfer from Shepherd up to the Division 1 level, revisit the stunning burger revelations from her last appearance, and find out why she hates LeBron. After Abby departs, we take a look at the NBA playoffs as we approach having the Finals matchup finalized and how scary the Warriors continue to be for the present and the future.
Welcome to potentially the final episode of the WSHC era of Highly Dipsuted, and our last episode for a while in general. It's our final preview of the 2022 NFL Draft literally just a few hours away. Dylan gives his top 10 mock for perhaps the wildest, most unpredictable draft of our lifetimes and discuss the apparently very obvious paths the Steelers and Ravens are going to take tonight in Round 1. Afterwards, we address the departure of Shepherd WBB coach Jenna Eckleberry and what it means for the program, including the entering of the transfer portal by Abby Beeman.
Until next time. If we don't see ya: good afternoon, good evening, and goodnight.
Ryan is out this week (or is he?), so Logan Rothstein and Cody List step into the studio to try to help Dylan project the top of the NFL Draft to help us win some cash on props. just 7 days out before getting to arguing about whether Arby's and Sheetz are actually good or actually bad.
Our first-ever guest (we think) Derrik Klassen returns to the show to continue our yearly tradition of asking him for his takes on the quarterback class in the upcoming NFL Draft. We make sure to get the unfiltered versions of every take he's got on the likes of world-renowned cheater Kenny Pickett getting to the bottom of his hatred of Matt Corral, and examining exactly why Travon Walker is happening. Afterwards, the fellas discuss Tom Brady's devious scheme to join the Dolphins that was foiled, slander Adam Schefter some more, and dip a toe into previewing the NBA playoffs. RIP Dwayne Haskins.
It's baseball's Opening Day, and we decided to actually talk about the sport! Bad news: we talked about what's wrong with it and why it's dying. What happened? What changed? Was it always this way? How do we fix it? We answer these questions, and more, including the question everyone wants to know: why aren't there anymore new and good game shows and why is Pawn Stars so great?
This is April. That means we're coming down the home stretch of the NBA regular season. After spending months bogging ourselves down in football and Shepherd basketball, we finally get to dive deep into the NBA fold and let our takes loose as we look at the current playoff picture. Kyrie is back for the Nets, but will it be enough? Will the Celtics survive the Robert Williams injury? Can anyone stop the Suns and Bucks from meeting again? And what is going on with some of these betting lines?
After Dylan recounts his hectic week of pickup basketball against the elite athletes of Shepherd University, we give our time to catching up on the 2 weeks of NFL news we missed, which might as well be all the news in the world. Tom Brady unretired, Tyreek Hill was traded, Nasty Man Watson found a new team, and the AFC is now incredibly stacked. We also answer why you shouldn't trust Gonzaga or single-elimination tournaments and how the Rams could have a theoretical banner to hang.
Shepherd University Basketball color commentator Riley Griffith aka Parker Stone joins us in the booth to tie a bow on the incredible season of Shepherd women's basketball and their run through the NCAA tournament, we defend ourselves from Glenville Twitter slander, and we look ahead to the future of Shepherd basketball. Then a quick, rapid-fire assessment of our brackets and our bold predictions for March Madness.
We'll be on the road on Thursday night, so we bring to you an EMERGENCY PODCAST that is definitely not mostly our rankings of our top 10 favorite fast food places instead of talking about Russell Wilson getting traded to the Broncos an hour ago.
Shepherd women's basketball coach Josh Medina joins us in the studio as the Lady Rams get ready to go to the semifinals of the PSAC tournament. We talk about how they've gotten to this point, what they need to do to continue their run, Josh's Sheetz orders, the worst hotels in the PSAC, and the merits of eating Arby's.
Shepherd basketball played their senior nights this week! In honor of this, we spend the entire hour breaking down the men's and women's teams as they get set to enter the PSAC tournament next week. We discuss the coaching prowess of Justin Namolik, the women's team's path to the promised land, and we do some self-scouting.
The Super Bowl has come and gone and our Rams made it all the way. To commemorate the moment, we had to have a top-tier Ram of our own in the studio with us. Shepherd women's basketball point guard Abby Beeman joins us in the booth to talk all things Rams (basketball and football). Her journey as a basketball player, the season to come, her hatred of hamburgers, and then sticking around to give her hot takes on the Big Game, the Steelers, Tom Brady, and LeBron James.
It's time for your Highly Disputed Super Bowl LVI Preview, on NBA Trade Deadline day of all days. We break down the Big Game from all angles, including environment, half time show entertainment, actual football analysis?!?! and more. Then a short look into the NBA trading frenzy, mostly the fact that James Harden was traded (again), this time, for Ben Simmons. Please send your good vibes to Dylan if Tyler Boyd wins MVP. Thank you.
A JAM packed week, goodness gracious. The Super Bowl is set. The Pro Bowl is soon too I guess. The best football player ever retired. Brian Flores is suing the NFL. The Jaguars are still botching the easiest hire ever. The Washington Commies have started their revolution. Solidarity forever in Landover, Maryland.
We are once again discussing the Jacksonville Jaguars. Today, we bring on the scoop man himself, the fearless leader of the Bold City Brigade, The Dillacle. We break down with him the current Byron Leftwich situation and ask him about his experiences as a working class scoops man. Then we go on to complain about every other hire and Adam Schefter before getting on to this weekend and last weekend's actual on-field action for Championship Sunday.
Super Wild Card Weekend was terrible. We look forward to hopefully a much better divisional round which...looks promising! Before we get there, we go over Ryan's live reporting from Shippensburg for the Lady Rams' big win over the Raiders and get a call live from Texas from Terrance, which goes a VERY different direction. Everyone loves brisket talk though. And Cookout. Not Texas though. Don't pay attention to the kind words he has for that state.
The NFL playoffs are upon us. Boy, the Colts really screwed that up, huh? We break down the Wildcard weekend in full and give you our predictions (spoiler: not much unexpected.....unless...).
Welcome to 2022. A great year to come, I'm sure. (lol)
Ryan is out in Pittsburgh doing serious investigative journalism on the ground for Big Ben's last home game so he simply calls in to give an improvised version of Stick's Picks. Our pal Cody List fills his chair in his place in the studio to talk about the Ravens for far too long. Lamar is still hurt, they're probably missing the playoffs, and Greg Roman is likely gone soon. We give a eulogy on a season from Hell after the blowout loss to the Bengals.
It's The Highly Disputed Holiday Special! We've brought a whole host of special guests into the studio on Festivus Night to air our grievances on holiday food, Christmas movies, PSAC scheduling, and the Ravens offense. Far too many guests to have room for any feats of strength. Important discoveries about Paul Blart: Mall Cop are made and the boundaries of audio recording are pushed. Happy Holidays from us to you.
Sports are on fire. The variants are everywhere. Games are getting postponed. But you know what's funnier? Urban Meyer getting fired and Florida State losing the #1 recruit to Deion Sanders and Barstool. We also dive into bad SportsCenter anchors, the idiotic arguments against John Harbaugh's use of analytics (aka common sense) and yeah I guess the Omicron variant or whatever.
Tyson Bagent did it again. Shepherd are your regional champions. We talk through it all and explain why we can already look ahead to next year and enjoy what this team has done. Also, the women's basketball team is NATIONALLY RANKED after upsetting top 10 Gannon. We look at the potential this team has. Then...oh brother the Ravens...what have you done?
Dylan and Ryan are on their flu games so Shepherd Snyder hops back in the booth to officially become a Friend of the Show to talk all things Shepherd (University Athletics). The magical last second touchdown, a volleyball post-mortem, and a shoutout to Abby Beeman. Then we take a trip on the CFB coaching carousel before stopping to realize the Ravens are the AFC 1 seed. There were some detours in between. Apologies in advance. Except to you, Alaska.
It's an exciting time for Shepherd University sports. We finally let loose on all of the Rams takes that we've been holding in during NFL talk to discuss the upcoming football NCAA tourney, volleyball conference tourney, and the season openers for basketball, with a comprehensive season preview for both teams. Oh and Antonio Brown faked his vaccine card LOL.
The sports news calmed down a bit this week so some actual sports got discussed! However, not before we broke down OBJ becoming a Ram, Adam Schefter being a shameless shill, Cam Newton going back to Carolina, and Carson Wentz needing to please stop being a heathen. After a special AEW Full Gear picks segment and Stick's Picks, we then break down how the Ravens are doing atop the chaotic AFC North. Ryan also gets in some Knicks Talk.
Oh lord, we have a lot of news to talk about. Aaron Rodgers is unvaccinated, Odell may never play for the Browns again, Henry Ruggs is in jail for the foreseeable future, Von Miller got traded over a Halloween party, Dov Kleiman loves Jennifer Lawrence too much, and a Texas Longhorns stripper monkey bit a child while trick-or-treating. Welcome to November.
Happy Halloweekend!
We're here to give you a spooky rundown of the football weekend that was and the one to come, including the potential Deshaun Watson trade, the awful, terrible, no good Kansas City Chiefs, and the greatest college football game of all time: Wake Forest vs. Army.
We have reached the Sports Equinox. All major sports in America are in play and we go around the horn talking about them all, even the scripted ones.
We ponder whether Darren Rovell is the most dunked on man on Twitter, hammer Ben Simmons for being mentally frail, move around the NFL to discuss the possibly soon-occuring Deshaun Watson trade and much more, and make the rounds on CFB coach firings for various hilarious reasons. Shepherd Homecoming, come on out, we love you. And oh wait LOL WE FORGOT BASEBALL WHOOPS SORRY.
Oh boy did Urban Meyer luck out. This week was a BUSY news week and we do our best to cover what we can, mainly that of Jon Gruden's email scandal and resignation from the Raiders. Then we jump back into Actual Sports Ball for a while with Lamar's incredible Monday night comeback, as well as the rest of the NFL. Alabama lost! We barely get time to get into it before needing to address Kyrie Irving's benching and Ben Simmons ending his holdout. What a wild time.
We're joined once again by now recurring guest John Shipley from Jaguar Report of SI to break down Urban Meyer's no good, very bad week, the Jaguars as a whole, and which AEW roster members should replace him as head coach. Then we move on to the larger football landscape to break down the NFL as we round into the one quarter mark of the season and after a consequential week of CFB with more to come. RIP Andrew Wiggins.
We took a week off and boy did the Ravens do some things. Dylan has a lot to say about it (hey Colt Cabana, how ya doin?). Dan Orlovsky wants Matt Nagy's head on a pike, Eminem is doing the Super Bowl halftime show, and Big Ben looks like the worst QB in the league. What a time to be alive. We also discuss WVU's pitiful loss to Oklahoma and preview a STACKED upcoming week of both college and NFL football as we make our picks. With some NBA anti-vaxxer talk to top it all off. See ya in Morgantown.
Football is back in full swing. The Steelers beat the Bills. The Ravens have no OL. The Falcons are a mess. With NFL Week 1 in the books, we break down the biggest takeaways of the week and what you should actually just wait and see on. Fellow WSHC voice and Falcons fan Terrance Anderson does a run-in to vent his frustrations. Ryan finally gets his Jeopardy takes off his chest. Great Khali episode date still TBD.
Football is back in full swing as the NFL hits Week 1 this weekend. We're here to give you a rundown of all of the interesting things to watch for on the schedule. Stick's Picks returns for Week 1 and an untitled CFB picks segment makes its "debut". We then break down WVU's loss to Maryland, the probable Big 12 expansion, and how the demise of our country revolves around American Idol.
After last week's recap of what was missed during the summer hiatus, Dylan and Ryan take a look forward to the present and future of the sports world, big and small, including a breakdown of Shepherd's promising football and volleyball teams, live reaction to the breaking news of Lamar Jackson's apparent updated vaccination status, a look at the FBS' 5 day Week 1 football buffet, and the continuation of the Deshaun Watson saga.
We're back. It's season...whatever of Highly Disputed and we're back on the Thursday night wave once again. We take the time to catch up on what we've missed since we did our last show one week (4 months*) ago.
The NBA playoffs and off-season happened. Aaron Rodgers' Last Dance in Green Bay approaches. CM Punk's First Dance too. Shepherd sports are back! We dive into why 24/7 sports media coverage is garbage and shouldn't exist and also the Colts' QB situation for some reason.
Shepherd University does not endorse the views and opinions of Highly Disputed. (unless they, like, want to, ya know?)
After a one week hiatus, the boys are back and fully vaxxed. 48 hours away from the NFL Draft and 24 hours removed from Ryan being suspended by Twitter, we take a look at all the rumor and innuendo surrounding the big night on Thursday: the Mac Jones vs Trey Lance pivot point, the NFL being stupid and probably letting Bill Belichick get Justin Fields, and what our Ravens and Steelers may do towards the end of round 1. We also throw around other sources, favorite betting lines, and Dylan's Mock Draft 2.0/2.5.
Ryan's back after his trip around the South, and his vacation update sparks a conversation about...U.S. geography. Why are the states so unevenly sized? Why do we need exactly 50 states? What is Alaska here for?
Eventually, we move to the point of the show (sports, I think) and discuss how the Jamal Murray injury reshapes the NBA title picture and Dylan gives his top 10 mock about 2 weeks out from the NFL Draft.
Ryan is out this week on a quest to fight Jerry Jones in Texas, so Logan Rothstein joins the show once again to fill in as we figure out the solutions to fixing baseball, like adding more deadly weapons and fire, and we accidentally solve how to unionize every workplace.
Baseball talk is bookended with some great guests: Charles McDonald to talk Falcons draft plans, Derrik Klassen to give a rundown of the 2021 QB draft class, and Ryan calling from the streets of Dallas.
Our good pal Logan Rothstein joins us in the booth for one of the few times we have a serious topic on the show as we open with addressing the Deshaun Watson allegations. By the end of the show, there's a MUCH lighter vibe, don't you worry.
We dip our toes into the NFL Draft for the first time this year while going over the 49ers trade up for...Mac Jones apparently?? A 2016 draft retrospective and the new 17-game schedule leads to a discussion on how the NFL leads to nothing but suffering and indigestion. Finally, LeBron and Steph rumors spurns a crucial question: what if the Knicks were the real-life Harlem Globetrotters and ruled the world?
The fellas got their first dose of COVID vaccines yesterday. Ryan is down bad, but luckily Dylan is built different and able to give you a quick update on our condition and our March Madness selections.
This is March. It's been 2 full years since Jon Rothstein has last gotten his fix but the NCAA tournament has been revived. Stick's Picks returns as we tell you why Vibes > Analysis when filling out your bracket and expose the ESPN Tournament Challenge team summaries. Then we shift gears to NFL free agency where things are just getting started, yet somehow the Bears have already lost.
Our good friend Shepherd Snyder joins us in the booth. We explore who's in and out of the league-wide NBA group chat that definitely exists (Meyers Leonard has left the chat).
Next we remember the anniversary of Rudy Gobert ruining our lives launching into a full-scale tangent of comparing sitcoms to quarterbacks: why The Office is Peyton Manning, how Larry David is the Jerry Rice of comedy, and an impromptu table read of our own created episode of Seinfeld.
This show was technically about sports.
We're back to talking about sports again after a one week detour. After the huge heavyweight slugfest between WVU and Baylor, we discuss where the Mountaineers stand, an update on the Shepherd women's team comes next, then there's the hottest team in the NBA...the Knicks??? Finally, we circle around to J.J. Watt's new home and the potential of Russell Wilson finding a new home.
The fellas are joined by the mythical and eccentric Chris Hicks and there's absolutely no sports whatsoever discussed. Society has progressed past the need for sports. We've finally ascended.
Instead, we discuss more important things: the best letters of the alphabet, professional wrestlers' butts, fighting animals, Chris' hatred of spoons, and the validity of various potato-related side dishes.
Dylan and Ryan are joined by John Shipley of JaguarReport to break down the future of one of the most interesting NFL teams this offseason, the Jacksonville Jaguars, from their coaching hires (controversial and not), and the state of the supporting cast that Trevor Lawrence will step into one day 1 and what can be done to improve it.
Afterward, a shocking development: there's Shepherd University sports to talk about! We dip our toes into the impromptu women's basketball season and the merits of having fans in the building for games.
Tom Brady and the Buccaneers won the Big Game™©®. We take a look and give our #expert analysis on all the angles you'd expect: the 2011 QB draft class, Tom Brady's plastic surgery, and does he eat eggs? Football is discussed at some point also.
Afterwards, we dip our toes into the beginning of the NFL offseason, including the puzzling Wentz to Chicago rumors, the Rams cracking their title window back open with Matt Stafford, and how the Deshaun Watson saga is why Lebron James is the greatest player of all time.
We're back after our winter break hiatus! Lots has happened. Tom Brady is back in the Super Bowl, Aaron Rodgers' days in Green Bay could be numbered, and Deshaun Watson is requesting immediate evac from the Houston dumpster fire, and we haven't even gotten to the James Harden trade yet. What a time.
It's the final episode of 2020 and what's more fitting than talking about one of our most dearly held traditions being affected by COVID. Talking, of course, about Ravens-Steelers. Thanksgiving too, I guess.
Also on the agenda: - Who should replace Greg Roman? - The NFL roundup and Stick's Picks: the Raiders are officially for real - A Shepherd sports update and the outlook on when D2 sports may play again - Way too much NBA news happened in the last week
The gun has fired on the NBA off-season sprint and lordy, we're out of the gates fast. Chris Paul got traded and that was like the 4th thing we talked about. James Harden is trying to force his way to Brooklyn, Westbrook is on his way out of Houston too, and the Bucks went all in to keep Giannis in a wild way, BUT it looks like it's gonna work.
The NBA season basically just ended. The draft is next week. Free agency too. The new season starts in 6 weeks. Get ready for a mad scramble and some awful December basketball.
Football is happening too. The Bears have gone from a top 2 seed to out of the playoffs in 3 weeks. The Saints have done the opposite.
Abolish the Pac-12.
We pulled all the strings to bring you a truly special episode full of special reports, predictions, correspondents on the ground in DC, and an absolutely chaotic slate of guest appearances. There's some sports talk, some election talk, and something in the middle that can only be described as the winds of chaos sweeping through the studio in the form of one Christian Anderson.
We really outdid ourselves this time. If this is the last episode ever, you'll be able to tell why. Thanks for coming out.
Antonio Brown is back; guess it's time to take the Bucs seriously. The Ravens also made some moves (some good moves!) ahead of their clash with Pittsburgh. The NFC West keeps getting better and the East keeps getting worse. All that and more, plus...
I don't mean to alarm you but...there's actual baseball talk on this episode. I hope you were sitting down for that.
Le'veon is a Chief. Tua is the new Dolphins starter. The Cowboys are in a tailspin. Sounds like a good time to look at the absolutely absurd playoff picture as it stands before Week 7. We take a break from football for our World Series preview. We promise we actually talked about baseball. Nothing else. That's it. Finishing strong with college football, it somehow ends with us endorsing someone for president. Go eers.
A historic episode of Highly Disputed where we stay on the same topic, the past, present, and future of LeBron James, for an entire 45 minutes. Aren't you proud of us? We break down how LeBron has solidified the title of G.O.A.T. and the potential of the Lakers getting him another ring before retirement.
Smooth transition over to the NFL for Stick's Picks and the week that was. And yes, we have confirmed, Donovan McNabb was a Viking.
Big Rona has hit the NFL. Who could've possibly seen this coming? We discuss how soon CBS will be airing Young Sheldon over an AFC South game.
Then we finally talk college football for more than 2 seconds, including the all important questions: Is Arkansas For Real? Is Charlie Brewer the worst QB of all time? How the hell is North Carolina ranked 8th in the country?
The NBA Finals are happening also. Anthony Davis' legacy is on the line.
The Ravens got dismantled by the Chiefs. What went wrong? We're here to talk in-length about it. We run through the rest of the NFL Week 3 and Ryan gives you Stick's Picks 2.0 for Week 4. The Finals are about to begin too. Do the Heat have a shot? Will LeBron plow right through them? Will we continue to talk about regional Pennsylvania restaurant chain Hoss' before getting to the NBA Championship? Tune in to find out this and much more.
We start the episode with some classic clips to re-live the best of Highly Disputed Season 2. It meshes well with the incredible audio quality we have to start the show.
Afterwards we get into the Clippers' collapse including how everyone hates Paul George, LeBron's likely forthcoming 4th ring, the Heat-Celtics series, and then our first dive into the NFL season including the debut of Stick's Picks.
After a hiatus that we weren't sure was temporary, Dylan and Ryan return to the airwaves of 89.7 WSHC Shepherdstown after 6 long months.
Football is back! And the fake crowd noise is really weird. The Big Ten saw their friends having fun without them and wants to go outside. The NBA bubble has reached the conference finals, but before we broke down the playoffs, we had to talk about the Finesse Hall of Famers, the Silna Brothers.
The boys are back in town.
Sports? Sports.
They're back and so are we. We missed two months and apparently a lot can happen in that time. Naturally, the episode where we have current sports to talk about ends up with tangents on Arrested Development, the mid-2000s Orioles and beaches.
Stay safe. And always stay at the Clarion.
Black Lives Matter.
There's barely any sports on this one. Probably because there are none to talk about. The Jordan doc is the only reason there's any sports talk here. After that, we do an in-depth retrospective on the golden age of American Idol. Of course, we find ourselves on a tangent about late-night television by the end of it.
It's Highly Disputed 1.0 re-uploaded, sonny. 11/5/18.
This is where we started: yelling about the legend of Will Grier letting our troops hatred run wild. Turns out things are still basically the same now. We started off with a bang.
Homely Disputed episode 2: It's a draft recap episode! In usual fashion, we don't stay on topic though.
We check in with the QB guru Derrik Klassen on his time in quarantine, what he thinks of where the QBs in the NFL draft ended up, the rest of the draft, plus we look into the mind of Bill Simmons a bit too much. It hurts to look directly at it.
Ryan and Dylan check in for the first time since the world went entirely to hell. We've been sheltering at home for god knows how many days now. It's been 6 weeks since the NBA shut down, I guess.
We talk about what is to come in the following months (and longer?), states starting to flirt with opening back up, what sports might look like when things do open back up. Then we got into some NFL draft talk because that's still happening. The 2013 draft came up. Boy, that draft sucked, huh? I think we talked about uniforms. Some other stuff. Idk, it's pretty long. Ok bye.
Coronavirus has put sports into hibernation and it may have killed the show about 6 weeks early. This may be the last episode. We'll try to find a way to make sure it isn't. Anyway, yeah, here's a podcast.
In a memorable finale to our Shepherd basketball coverage, Nick Arguelles joins us and Marquell Campbell acts as our studio audience as Ryan goes in on a certain opposing player on a certain opposing team as we discuss the final game of the season and the PSAC conference awards.
Eventually we talk about Tom Brady and the NFL off-season a bit, the possible Al Michaels to ESPN trade, and whether Bill Walton should call every sports game on Earth. Too much time is spent on the Warriors roster and even more time is spent on Jarrett Jack for some reason. We discuss the best names in sports history. I really don't know how we ended up talking about half of this stuff. The most all-over-the-place episode yet, and that's really saying something.
We're joined by the captains of the Shepherd women's basketball team, Sydney Clayton and Marley McLaughlin to talk about the great season they've had and what's to come. Things don't stay serious the whole time, as usual.
Later, we give an answer to "Zion Williamson is the _____ best player in the NBA".
Our good friend Elmar is here for the entire show. If you know him, you know you're in for a wild ride. If you don't...well you're about to find out.
It's almost NBA All Star Weekend and we've got all the events covered (mostly the celebrity game)!
We also go in-depth on Shepherd basketball and how the women's team is great and only getting better.
Highly Disputed is back after a 2 month hiatus and boy did we miss a lot.
The Chiefs won the Super Bowl. LSU won the playoff. Baseball died and went to Hell. Most importantly though, Lamar Jackson was unanimous MVP.
The NBA trade deadline was also today and the Warriors got robbed. Please contact the police if you have any leads. We also map out how the Heat can beat the Bucks with the might of caucasian strength. We're back in midseason form already.
In the last Highly Disputed of 2019, Dylan and Ryan break down a wild weekend of Shepherd sports, the Patriots cheating again, CFB bowl games and coaching changes, including everyone's favorite: the Cheez-It Bowl.
By far the most chaotic episode yet. We talked about the Cowboys and Steelers a lot for some reason. The Bucket of Buds were in the building. Ryan got slapped in the face. It was a lot.
Dylan and a barely alive Ryan discuss whether Mason Rudolph did a slur, the Kaepernick workout, Lamar Jackson being MVP favorite, and much more football. You know the drill.
We give a rundown of our very successful Shepherd women's sports teams and how one in particular could improve (spoiler: do better, Coach)and discuss Shepherd Football's upcoming senior day. Then we got back into our usual nonsense of Division I college football and the NFL, including the bets Dylan will be losing money on this week and all the awful prime time games we don't want to sit through.
Lamar Jackson beat the Patriots. One of us is pretty excited about it.
Other things happened too.
Our close personal friend Marquell Campbell joins the show to talk about baseball because we kinda have to, the laughing stocks of the NFL doing their thing, college football coaches' naming their favorite musicians, and Ben Simmons putting KAT in the STF.
The Good Ol' Boys on WSHC (and friends) invade the studio
Nick Arguelles and Bonafide Football Expert Noah Herter join the pod for a Bucket of Buds special to talk about Definitely Not Hong Kong, NBA preseason, NFL football, and an n-less amount of other topics in the sports world.
Your favs are back and just as dumb as ever, but now we're dumb at night discussing Antonio Brown's wild ride, how fat Zeke Elliott is about to get, definitely not doing play-by-play of the NFL kickoff game, certainly no mention of any 1970s Buffalo running backs, and...Randall Cobb is a Cowboy? Probably some other stuff in there too. idk. we don't remember anything we've ever said and take no responsibility for our actions.
