When Christmas falls on a Sunday, the debate emerges over whether Churches across America should be opened or closed. For us here at Let’s Talk Church podcast, that debate wouldn’t last long. Christmas literally has “Christ” in it. Imagine going to someone’s house, that you love, every week like clockwork, but skipping their birthday week because something else was “more important.” Join us in this latest episode to hear our take on why churches that profess the incarnate Christ should be open to receive anyone who will come on Sundays that fall on Christmas Day just like they are open on other Sundays throughout the year. Corporate Sunday worship applies to all Sundays.

016 - We're back! In this episode, we open Season 2, episode 1 of Scars & Ashes. A new series focused on Genesis 34. We explore Jacob's backstory, watching as his decisions ultimately lead him to Shechem. It would seem that this place, full of idolatry and unholy living, would not be a place that a man like Jacob would want to live. Contrary to what one would expect, Jacob buys land there. Jacob was out of place. God did not tell him to go to Shechem. Would Dinah, his only daughter's trajectory been different if Jacob would have obeyed God? Would it have been different if his family was in a place of people trying to live their lives honoring God? We could play "would have, should have, could have" and "what if" all day. But it won't change what happened to Dinah. Being out of place and purpose can have costly consequences. Make your decisions wisely.

Note: This series contains reference to sexual violence.

014 - In this latest podcast episode, we talk with Chaplain Linda Buie to better understand the work of the Chaplaincy and its connection to the church. Chaplains can be found in different settings, be it hospitals, universities, military etc. And they do more than what Hollywood shows us. They lead worship services, provide last rites rituals and marry people. They also offer communion, anoint patients and assist with completing power of attorney paperwork. In hospital settings, they are part of the interdisciplinary team, addressing the emotional needs of the patient. Their work is heavy and necessary. It is also more complex than I ever imagined. Please listen in and learn more about the chaplaincy. I believe it will bless you real good.
