Celebrating, embracing, and highlighting 'Humanity's Naked Reality!' We uncover the best, the not-so-best, the interesting, the enlightening, the informative, and different, and the weird life has to offer---the things that make us say, "Wow!," "Awwwww," "Seriously???," and "Are You F*&#ing Kidding Me?????".We bring you the people that make us realize what's possible, what matters, and what makes us tick and, hopefully, inspire us to do what matters in our own corners of the world. This show strips away all the disguises and exposes the simple truths of life and it helps us focus on all the things that make us uniquely human, and that remind us that we're all in this together...so let's not screw it up for everyone else.
Dave faces some backlash after confessing that, as a gay man, he isn't a huge Madonna fan. Brian, of course, believes that in order to be truly gay, you MUST worship the queen of Rochester Hills, Michigan---the one, the only Madonna. OK, so maybe Brian didn't take it quite that far. But it started a lively debate that raised the question of who the REAL divas are for the gay community. And with the help of Brian's friend Dominic, we dive into that question and explore the wide variety of contenders for that crown. We also relive the highlights from FyreLight 2026 to let you know what a great time it was---and why you should plan on going next year! And we begin an exploration of some of the potential candidates for the 2028 Presidential election, starting with the guy with the funny last name---Pete Buttigieg. It's all in this episode of GayPrime!
It's Pride month across America, so we'd be remiss if we didn't include a segment that pays tribute to this festive time of year. Plus, it's the final ramp-up for FyreLight 2026, and Dave & Brian talk with FyreLight Executive Producer Nate Turner about all the upgrades and new inclusions they've added to this year's line-up. And we also explore some new additions to the Gay Slang dictionary (or would it be an encyclopedia???) while testing our knowledge to see just how up-to-date we are on the words and phrases that all the kewl kids are using these days. Oh---and Brian insists on promoting what he is calling 'Gay Christmas,' which results from the release of a certain new album from a certain mega-star icon of gay culture whose name rhymes with 'Ya Wanna?' Werq it, baby!!!
The month of May is International Masturbation Month, and we're joining in with the celebration! We explore the joys of self-pleasure in our May episode, with a masturbation game show that will test your knowledge of the world's favorite pastime. You'll laugh and you'll learn things you never thought about before. Plus, we take a look at status shaming in the gay community, along with the ever-annoying habit of so many gay men---FLAKING!!! And Brian and Dave take a look at some of the latest additions to Gay America's favorite kinks and fetishes! But most important of all, we dive into Colorado's newest gay camping event, Fyrelight 2026---and show you why you need to check out this amazing, festive party in the foothills of the Front Range!
FyreLight, Colorado's newest and best gay camping event, was inaugurated one weekend in September in the foothills of Bailey, Colorado---and it was incredible! Five fun-filled days of festive frolicking among good friends, old and new. In this episode, we re-live the memorable fun of that special weekend with interviews and stories---and information on next year's event, so those of you who didn't make it won't repeat the same mistake in 2026!
In this episode, we cover a LOT of territory (some intentional, some the result of conversational tangents, and some just random shit that came in out of nowhere), so pay attention so you can keep up. As hard as it is to believe it, Kim Davis is back in the news. Yep, she and her three ex-husbands are still tryin' to get same-sex marriage overturned by SCOTUS. , because, you know, she's so concerned about the sanctity of marriage. Right. We also take a look at the hottest topics in the porn for 2025. Plus we have Nate Turner as our featured guest to talk about final preps for the first-ever FyreLight gay camping weekend coming up in just two weeks. And there’s a whole lot more. So, fasten your seat belts. This ride goes fast!
SPECIAL GUEST: Sasha Summer Cousneau. How do you tackle a problem no one wants to talk about—let alone admit even exists? Once united by the fight for marriage equality and other civil liberties, the LGBTQ community now finds itself more fragmented than ever. In particular, the bond between gay men and lesbians has frayed, with each group retreating into its own social silo. In our August episode, we sit down with trailblazing lesbian entrepreneur and activist Sasha Summer Cousineau to explore these growing divisions and what might be done to bridge the gap. We’ll also dive into surprising survey data on the sexual habits of gay men—and share our own spin on what it all means. All that and more in a can't-miss episode!
A large percentage of the gay male community has become enamored with hook-up apps—and most of us have at least one of those apps active on our smart phones. We have grown to rely on apps like Grindr, Scruff, Adam-4-Adam, Sniffies and so many others for an easy path to connecting with other gay and bisexual men. Finding a sexual encounter has become easier than ever before. But at what cost? Apps have replaced the concept of cruising in bars or parks to find a sexual encounter. Many of us allow these apps to control our behavior and our self-worth. And many have become addicted to the hook-up culture. So, it begs the question. Are these apps making things better for us or worse? In our July episode, we take a closer look at some of our behaviors, mannerisms and idiosyncrasies when it comes to hook-up apps in an attempt to develop healthier habits with the apps we use. Is that even possible? Find out in the July episode of GayPrime.
It’s Pride month and while we have much to celebrate, we must all be aware that we still have a lot of work to do before we're at the gates of true equality. In this episode, we celebrate single gay and bisexual men while exploring the challenges of being single---including issues coming from within the LGBTQ community. We also take a tongue-in-cheek look at the top 30 reasons gay men have given for being single. Some are valid and legitimate, and others are best categorized under, “Are you f***ing kidding me???!!!” But silly or legit, they all provide insight into how single gay men are feeling and how they’re responding to some of the myths and stereotypes that exist in our culture. All this and more in the all-new, June episode of GayPrime!
We’re back after a bit of a hiatus! We are sorry we left you in the dark, so to speak, but we are so happy to be back in the swing of things with a brand new episode. This month, we ‘celebrate the bate’ with a commemoration of international masturbation month. But we’re also introducing a brand new gay camping festival set to take place in July, courtesy of Nate Turner, the guy who made Rendezvous such a great event. Nate joins us for a conversation about Fyrelight, Colorado’s own LGBTQ camping event coming up in July. You won’t want to miss that. And, as always, a few other fun surprises await in the all new May episode (which we ralize is coming to you in June...just go with it) of GayPrime!
Dave and Brian are back after a bit of an unexplained absence. But where did they go? Some said they were placed in the witness protection program. Others said it was an alien abduction. No one is REALLY sure---but now, all will be revealed. Also in this episode, everything you need to know about Rendezvous 2024----the big gay camping trip in August that brings together around 500 gay men (and a few women) for a weekend of comradery, exploration, relaxation, consultation and a bit of debaucherous celebration. Our featured guest is Nate Turner, aka Mr. Rendezvous. And we're going to continue our exploration of gay relationships as we take a deep look at monogamy and try and tackle the question of whether or not TRUE monogamy is possible in gay relationships. It's a very interesting conversation that we think you're going to enjoy. It's all in the July episode of The Gay Prime Show!
Is Polyamory right for you? As part of our exploration of the different types of relationships for gay men in today's culture, we begin by exploring the concept of polyamory, what it is, and how it works. Our featured guest is Nate Turner, an expert on polyamorous relationships. Nate is also the chair of the planning committee for Rendezvous, the annual big gay camping festival in Medicine Bow National Forest. So Nate gets us excited for Rendezvous 2024, filling us in on just how fun this year's festival is going to be, and everything you need to know before attending this year's event. Plus a few other surprises along the way---and it's all in this episode of The Gay Prime Show!
For some of us, it's almost second nature. While for others---not so much. But almost everyone likes hearing it. What is it about dirty talk that we find so enticing? In this episode, we explore the art and science of dirty talk. It's one of the most fun episodes we've ever done. We convene two small groups of gay and bi men to give us a more well-rounded perspective on the subject, and as is often the case, the conversation takes us off on a variety of tangents. But we always find our way back. Unless you are timid and easily offended by harsher language, you won't wanna miss this episode! Contains adult themes and content, so listener discretion is MOST CERTAINLY advised.
Those crazy kids! So hard to figure out, sometimes. Some are genuinely attracted to older guys, and some are obsessed with finding a sugar daddy. And then there are those young'ns who would sooner set their junk on fire than get it on with anyone more than ten years older than they are. On the other side of the tracks, there are older guys who are on the twink-hunt prowl while other older guys would never even consider hopping into the sack with anyone young enough to be their son (or grandson!!). Curiosity got the best of us, so we decided to do a little exploring to see if we could better understand the whole Dad-son attraction. Features two fun interviews with a couple of guys who certainly have a propensity for seeking out the Dad-types. Plus, it's our first birthday!!! Yeeee-hah!
Whoever said your sex life would go downhill after the age of 50 was obviously someone in their 20s or 30s who had NO idea what they were talking about! Because the fact of the matter is that you can have the best sex of your life at 50, 60 and beyond. That's our topic for this episode of Gay Prime, as we talk about how we've managed to ensure our sex lives keep getting better and better, and what you can do to enjoy hot and sweaty sex for years and years to come. It's a fun and enlightening conversation about embracing the things that turn you on and about owning your own kinks and fetishes. This is one episode you won't want to miss!
Wait a minute...what the---say whaaat???? OK, so there's a bit more to it than that. But in this episode, we go deep with Andy Hill, film scholar and cinema aficionado, and we learn about his perspective on different movie genres and how they parallel being gay in America---in ways you never could have imagined. Truly one of the most unexpectedly enlightening conversations we've had in a very long time. You won't wanna miss it. PLUS, we have a bunch of new entries to add to our list of the most off-the-wall kinks and fetishes for gay men. Dave & Brian offer their assessment of these hot, trendy perversions that are taking Gay America by storm. OK, maybe not so much by storm as much as a gentle shower with an occasional rumble of thunder. Hey, you just might find something new to jumpstart your sex life. It's all in the brand new, November episode of The GayPrime Show.
A lot of great content packed into this episode, including our special tribute to Matthew Shepard as we mark the 25th anniversary of his death with an in-depth conversation with Josh Ayer, well-known scholar and social activist with a vast amount of knowledge on the topic of Matthew's life and death. Plus, Dave and Brian take a look at how easy it is to discover whether or not you are worthy of labels like 'freak' and 'perv.' All you've gotta do is answer ten simple questions. Yep, that's it! They also continue to have fun with The Lists List, the new segment they started in the last episode. This month's list is the 15 most fun words to say in the English language. But that makes us wonder what the 15 most fun GAY words might be. Care to chime in with your words? Hear what they have to say on that---and a whole lot more in this episode of GayPrime!
Our September episode was originally scheduled to be our hottest episode to date, featuring an interview with a well-known gay porn star. Yes, a very well-known gay porn star (unless you don't watch porn, in which case it would just have been a guy whose job it is to get naked and have sex on the set of a studio in southern California). But, unfortunately, a last-minute scheduling conflict followed by a family emergency required him to postpone the interview, which will be rescheduled for an upcoming episode. So, at the last minute (and in a state of shock and panic), we had to scramble to pull some content together to create an episode (hey, the show must go on, right?), and we think we did a pretty damn good job, considering what we were up against. So, in lieu of the interview with the porn stud who cannot yet be named, we examine The Barbie Effect that is sweeping the country. It's not quite as cutting edge as the porn guy, but it works. We also have a few other segments we think you'll enjoy. Check it out! And don't worry. We'll get the porn hunk to sit down and chat with us very soon. You can count on it.
It's an hour-long recap of Rendezvous 2023! We take a look at all the things that made this year's Rendezvous Camping Festival a resounding success, from our headline entertainer and country music rising star, Kameron Ross, to the acrobatic aerial showmanship of Bottoms Up, to the incredible drag performances, the underwear party, the kink/fetish workshops and everything else that was such an integral parr of Rendezvous 2023---the 30th anniversary celebration! If you were one of the 400-plus people who made it to Rendezvous 2023, then relive all the fun in this special episode of The Gay Prime Show!
It's a GayPrime pot pourri episode, with a special emphasis on gay camping! As a sponsor for the upcoming Rendezvous 2023, the largest LGBTQ camping event in the Rocky Mountain Region, we figured we'd explore the world of gay camping. The truth is, gay men either love it or hate it. No gray area. We're gonna try and sway a few minds over to the loving side of camping. Plus, how do you find that special someone over the age of 40? Well, one way is through a special, customized matchmaking service. Denver entrepreneur Tony Smith is our guest to talk about Denver's Cupid, a new service he created, and it is proving to be quite successful. It's a fun and informative episode of the GayPrime Show, and you won't wanna miss it!
It's Pride month across the country, and we take a closer look at how Pride has evolved into the celebration we know today. But some in the LGBTQ community aren't happy with what it has become. Is Pride too sexualized? Has it lost its original meaning and purpose? So many different factions of the LGBTQ community now have their own Pride flag---50 so far. The original message behind Pride was to present a united front of solidarity. Have we gone too far in our attempts to be inclusive and to recognize everyone? Plus, we feature the best Pride cocktails you've probably never heard of. You'll want to include these for your own Pride party! All this and more in this episode of GayPrime!
May is National Masturbation Month, and we're dedicating our entire episode to one of America's favorite pasttimes! We'll explore the new "bate" culture, and take a look at latest trends as well as ways to enhance and improve the bating experience. Featured guests include Jimbo Peck, owner and operator of Denver Jacks, Colorado's premier masturbation club for men. Also, we'll chat with two true-blue bators and find out why masturbation is such an integral part of their lives. And our hosts explore their own propensity for masturbation activity---it's a CeleBation, and it's all in the May episode of GayPrime!
The relationships between gay men and their fathers are among the most powerful and complex relationships we will ever encounter. But how does your relationship with your father play into your life as an adult? We hear from four gay men who share the stories of their relationships with their fathers, and we learn a bit more about just how powerful those relationships can be in the development of the men we are today. You might want to have a tissue handy, because these stories are funny, touching, and heart-tugging. Also, there is a war being waged against the LGBTQ community, and it's not going away anytime soon. We'll fill you in on the latest from the front lines. It's all in the April episode of GayPrime!
It's the second episode of GayPrime! We're bold and brave enough to go from kinks & fetishes to our innate fear of loneliness in the same episode---and all within the course of 58 minutes. Who the hell does that??? We do. First, are you ashamed of your kinks and fetishes, or do you embrace them? We take a closer look at some of the most popular and a few of the most obscure kinks among gay men in America. Next, we have an open and in-depth conversation with three of our listeners who share their thoughts and insights on our fear of loneliness and how it plays into the decisions we make, especially after we turn 50. Then we look at some of the anti-gay legislation being proposed by Republican lawmakers at the state level across the country---all part of the new "war on LGBTQ culture." How do we fight it? What's next? All this and MORE in the all-new March episode of The GayPrime Show.
It's the inaugural episode of The Gay Prime Show (GPS), an entertaining and informative podcast by, for, and about gay men in their prime (or as we like to say, 'Gay Men 40 and Better!'). In this episode, we talk with Ryan Kendall, whose story is absolutely remarkable. He is a civil rights attorney, an activist, and a national leader in the fight against gay conversion therapy. But it's how he got to that point that is the amazing part. At the age of 40, he has endured more emotional and psychological trauma than most people will endure in a lifetime. Plus, we'll take a closer look at some very interesting legislation being proposed at the state level by lawmakers around the country---anti-gay and anti-trans legislation. So far, more than 100 bills and we are barely into the new year. All this and more in the inaugural episode of The GayPrime Show!
April is Autism Awareness Month. We've got a rising star in the world of autism, Michael McCreary---also known as 'The AspieComic.' Yep, a comedian with autism! Believe it or not, people on the autism spectrum are actually capable of understanding and mastering humor, and Mike is proof of that. We also have two amazing individuals who are leading the effort to produce one of the country's most renowned and unique charitable galas, "Laugh Yourself Blue," which benefits Firefly Autism. Marco Fields and Travis Plakke are this year's event chairs, and we chat with them to find out what it's like producing an event of this magnitude during a pandemic. Check it out---Episode 12 on The Exposed!
It's our first-ever SEX episode! We've dedicated an entire episode to the subject of human sexuality. There has been a recent dramatic increase in the number of men who identify as 100% straight having sex with other men---and not for just a "I only tried it once!" kind of thing. So it begs the question...at what point can you no longer consider yourself straight when you're having repeated sexual encounters with other men? Our guest panel discusses the question. Plus, it's our new game show, "Are you a Sexpert?" where we cover all sorts of sex trivia with our contestants. Check it out!
Let's take a peek at what some of the world's top psychics and soothsayers are predicting for 2021 and beyond. It may not be all perfect and rosy, but at least it might help us be better prepared. We also feature a special segment on what our children are absorbing during this election cycle as we try and set the best example for them to emulate. And we give you another edition of Absolutely Useless Factual Information! All this and more on episode 8 of The Exposed!
It's our lucky 7 episode, where we sit down and talk with Michael James, the principal at a metro Denver high school. He and his team have made remarkable strides against insurmountable odds. Find out what they did and how they did it. Also, it's Dave's farewell tribute to his good friend TJ, who played an important role in the creation and evolution of this podcast. And we've got a few surprises along the way!

Just what IS the "new normal" and what if we don't want it? Too bad, it's coming whether we like it or not. But since it's going to be here no matter what, why not embrace it and make something REALLY great out of it? We explore that on this episode.
As the clock kept ticking, it became clear that the various obstacles that fell into our path were going to prevent us from producing a quality episode for our listeners. So we decided to "go with the flow" and produce a special episode of The Exposed, one that shows how life sometimes gets in the way and reminds us that, like it or not, this IS life. This is an abbreviated episode, but we'll return to our regular, full format for Episode 4.
The world premier of the new song, 'The COVID Isolation Social Distancing Blues'; Rescuing our Non-Profits; Expose Your Smarts - The Game Show; Meet Tundra Nell
Most of us know from experience that the first in a series of anything usually sucks, at least by comparison to what comes later---once the feet are more firmly planted on the ground. But we think we did all right. We focus on the 'New Normal' we are all navigating through, and examine a few of the aspects of that new normal that among the casualties, and are among the favorites. We also dabble in some creative expression of what Coronavirus looks like from a slightly different perspective, It's a great way to kick off what we hope will be a long-standing show that will provide listeners with enlightenment, information, some laughs, a tear or two, and a look at what this show will become when it grows up.
