Pastor Yingling was a 1963 graduate of Concordia Theological Seminary in Springfield, Illinois. He served from 1963 - 1988 at St Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod, in Albany, NY.
Some of the recordings heard on this podcast are 30, 40, even 50 years old... but the messages are still, and maybe more, relevant today. Of course, the technology back then was not what it is today, and the originals have been digitized from their analog source.

They say "Those who don't learn from the past are condemned to repeat it". Listen to this and think about how closely it parallels our world now, nearly 50 years later.
The relevance of this episode is particularly striking. It could easily have been written to describe the world today, 48 years later. The only clues to the contrary are the specific references to a week old official ceasefire in Vietnam, and the recent Supreme Court decision on Roe v Wade.
A few minutes in, a defect in the original tape recording resulted in the loss of a few seconds of audio. Occasionally inevitable price of copying these old tapes.
