:Understanding Enemy Tactics and His Influence in Our Lives. This podcast will discuss how Satan's kingdom functions to create conflict, chaos and influences our decisions and outcomes when we don't even realize it. We will discuss his strategies and provide a deeper understanding to develop your discernment and eliminate his influence in your life. Since before the earth was formed, there was an unseen kingdom. At some point, that kingdom became divided when "Satan fell like lightning from Heaven", as described by Jesus in Luke 10:18. The division was a result of Satan wanting to ascend over God, Isaiah 14 and Ezekiel 28 tells us the story. We know that the kingdom of Satan is highly organized and that he roams the earth looking for ways to influence our lives. In Job 1:6-7, we read of Satan doing just that, and we know his kingdom is organized because it came out of heaven and when he fell, so did the angels under him. The Kingdom of God is a kingdom of order, so the kingdom of Satan coming out of Heaven, would likewise be a kingdom of order. These two unseen kingdoms remain in continual conflict around us, but most are oblivious to what is happening and how it influences us in our daily lives. Paul gives us more insight in Ephesians 6:11-12, "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms." We know these forces are still in conflict today because the final battles yet to come are revealed to us in the Book of Revelation beginning with Chapter 4.

· Part 2 of 2 on the spirit of Anxiety.

· Let’s start with a quick review of anxiety:

o Defintition of Anxiety: a feeling of worry, nervousness, or unease, typically about an imminent event or something with an uncertain outcome.

o There are 4 different levels of anxiety we are going to address:

§ Normal (Mild):

§ General anxiety disorder:

§ Moderate:

§ Severe:

§ Panic:

· We want to know what triggers our anxiety, then we can understand the root of our anxiety.

· To get to the root of our anxiety may be painful, but it is the only way to rid ourselves of the root.

· We must be willing to be honest with ourselves and believe in Him for all that we need to evict the Spirit of Anxiety.

· The easiest way to attack this influence is to create a plan that changes as you develop strength and understand the root of demonic influence.

· The first thing we need to do is make a list of all the demonic influences that you are experiencing in addition to the spirit of anxiety.

· In a second column, put words that represent the opposite of each word in your list.

· Build support with scriptures: Using the words on your list that are the opposite of the demonic influences, dig into your Bible and find scriptures that include those words.

o When you feel anxiety, rebuke anxiety and speak the words that are opposite of anxiety over yourself quoting the scriptures.

· Our next step is to begin to know your triggers. What sets your anxiety in motion? We want to get ahead of what is coming at us.

· I want you to identify as far back as you can recall what occurred that created that demonic influence to begin its influence over you. Was it one specific event? Was it a series of events? Was it something traumatic?

· That process could take some time and you want to do it at your own pace. It is better to do it correctly than to do it quickly.

· As you work through the list, ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you what you need to know and renounce any rights the demonic spirit has in your life and submit authority in your life in that area to the Lord.

· Now do that process with each of those demons on your list.

· Remember to go back and ask the Lord if you missed anything.

In this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing beliefs and practices that pollute Christianity by counterfeiting what is True.
Top Show points:

· Discussed beliefs and practices that pollute Christianity by counterfeiting what is True

· Reasons Christians fail to address contamination

· Deuteronomy 18:9-13. Discussing divination

· Talked about a recent class of mine based on Loving Conversations book and a woman who wanted to learn how my way of “tuning in” and discussed her practices with a third eye, light work, being an empath and other practices while calling herself a Christian.

· I show compassion, but I can’t compromise the truth and I will not allow the truth of the Word or a discussion of God or Jesus to be polluted or contaminated in any way by allowing a false religion and demonic activities. Don’t spare the truth to spare feelings.

· Leviticus 19:26 tells us, ‘Do not practice divination or seek omens.

· There are nine things she discussed that contaminate Christianity:

o 1. One of the things she told me was that she had been “channeling Yeshua” for many years. She wanted to learn my way of “tuning in.”

o 2. She talked about being an empath.

o 3. She referred to her third eye and all the problems she is having because of it and questioned me about how I handle my third eye.

o 4. When I questioned her about Jesus in her life, she initially ignored the question and then when I asked a second time, she referred to Jesus as an “aspect” of her life.

o 5. She refers to herself as a lightworker.

o 6. She uses crystals for healing

o 7. She talked about cleaning out her house of bad energy by using the light. When I discussed Jesus was the only way to clear out demons, and in some cases, the blood of Jesus and she said the blood of Jesus doesn’t work, only the light works.

o 8. She teaches “awakening” of your spirit and refers to past lives.

o 9. This woman represents herself as a Spiritual Life Coach for finding your inner god.

· As Believers, we need to recognize these as red flags that what they are telling us is false. We need to understand when someone speaks of such things, the “God” they are referring to is not the God of the Bible. This is a false god.

· My response to her was very direct. I told her the things she referred to was Satan. I do not receive anything from Satan. Everything I have, comes only from the One True God.

· You see when someone attempts to imbed lies into truth, it changes the meaning of what is “true” and then nothing that comes out of that, in this case, nothing coming out of her mouth contained any truth.

· We cannot compromise the Word of God. We cannot participate in activities with people who compromise the Word of God and not speak up. The Lord is very clear about the practice of divination in all its forms. Don’t be afraid to speak up.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing why we should never issue a challenge to the enemy. It seems like it should be common sense, but for some reason people do not understand that such words are not biblical and should never be uttered. We will hear what the Lord has to say about issuing such a challenge.

https://www.youtube.com/@conqueringourunseenenemies/featured

Top Show points:

Discussing why we should never issue a challenge to the enemy

Story of someone who challenged the enemy by saying “Bring It” and that reflects a spiritual immaturity by inviting the enemy

1 Peter 5:8, using a metaphor of a lion to describe the enemy. We are not to attack the lion, Daniel did not do that, neither are we to challenge the lion.

Matthew 16:21-23, Jesus tells us about Satan and his intent to kill, steal and destroy

Ephesians 6:12, This is a very active, not passive look at how we are to handle ourselves in battle. We are going to have to fight, we can’t avoid the battle but we, in our own strength are not to issue a directive to the enemy.

Jude 1:8-10, Our words are important, we speak truth about who Satan is and what he does, but we are not to speak to him or order him around. Even Michael defers to saying “The Lord rebuke you” We rebuke in the name of Jesus.

Matthew 4:1-10, Jesus does not challenge Satan or taunt him or say anything beyond what scripture tells him. Jesus knows it is not time for that. We need to understand our role is not to challenge the enemy and become embattled in a war we created.

Revelation 12:7, This is what is coming. There is a war coming, there is a time and place set for a battle to occur with Satan. We need to keep our perspective. Jesus is the one who will prevail.

This podcast is called conquering our unseen enemies not challenging our unseen enemies.

I asked the Lord what He wanted to say on this issue and here is what he told me:

“We need to steer clear of this behavior. It only invites trouble and no one with sense invites trouble. I am misused and people are in their own power proclaiming wars I never called them to. They are fighting their wars, not mine. I want them to fight their own battles not ones I never asked them to. I don’t battle the enemy the way they are battling the enemy. I seek the heart, to repair hearts, not stir up more issues. I seek to remove the enemy from the lives of My children, not draw him to My children to create a battle. When we send out an invitation, don’t be surprised when someone shows up. That’s not My way and My children need to move My way. There is no glory in fighting a battle you created. I don’t put My children in those positions, and neither should they. Seek Me and remove strongholds and influences that impede Me. Anything else is done for your own glory and I am not a part of that.”

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, if you want a personal relationship with the Lord, you need to be active about reading His word.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the second part of our two-part series on the ever-common struggle we have with doubt versus faith so we can begin to win that war in our head. Understand if doubt is with you, there is a war going on, even if you don’t recognize it. How we respond to doubt reveals a lot about our relationship with the Lord. This is a two-part series and in the first part we talked about the Spirit of Doubt and laid the groundwork for both episodes and now we will dig into faith and how we go about winning this war in our minds.

Top Show points:

Matthew 21: 21-22

Definitions of doubt and faith:

Doubt: to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe:

Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something

Four levels of faith

First is what I refer to as a beginner level faith or saving faith as found in Ephesians 2:8, “For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—”

Second, is just a simple faith, Romans 12:3,

The third level of faith I call “Faithfulness” because it is through our faith that we change and become more Christlike. Galatians 5:22

The fourth and final kind of faith is Supernatural Faith. This is one of the 9 supernatural gifts as described in 1 Corinthians 12. It is one of the Power Gifts and it is the greatest of the Power gifts.

People are unable to grow in their faith because we focus on all the things we aren’t, instead of all the things we actually are and will become.

In order for Supernatural faith to operate, there is an element of danger required, that is why we have the shield of faith, for protection. Supernatural faith is passive, it receives the miracle.

If I were to define supernatural faith, I would say “A supernatural level of faith is exhibited when the words spoken by the individual operating in the gift of faith is powered by the Holy Spirit and enabled to come to pass.”

Examples: Moses parting Red Sea Ex 14, Daniel in the Lions Den Ch 6, Elijah and Fire, 1 & 2 Kings

We have now discussed the Spirit of Doubt and the four types of faith. Where do we go from here? Assuming you want to win this war, then we need to be honest with ourselves and I have 7 steps to Grow Faith and Dissolve Doubt

  1. Identify what level of faith you are operating with or without and decide at what level of faith you are interested in building toward.

  2. Set aside consistent time to read the Bible where you focus on areas of faith.

  3. Set aside consistent prayer time to build your relationship with the Holy Spirit specifically asking Him to help you build your faith.

  4. Begin to move in areas of your life that require faith. We have to practice faith in order for it to grow.

  5. Keep going

  6. Keep going

  7. Keep going

Ended discussion talking about the see saw of your faith and you needing to make a decision on what your faith and doubt relationship is going to become.

This is a two-part series where we will talk about the Spirit of Doubt and lay the groundwork for both episodes in our first episode, and then next week we will dig into faith and how we go about winning this war in our minds.

Top Show points:

· Defined Doubt and Faith:

o Doubt: to be uncertain about; consider questionable or unlikely; hesitate to believe:

o Faith: complete trust or confidence in someone or something

· Matthew 21: 21-22, it reveals the inverse relationship between doubt and faith.

· James 1:2- 8. it reveals the character of the spirit of doubt and what we should expect when we operate from a place of doubt.

· The Spirit of Doubt is a demonic spirit that likes to hide in the background.

· Once we have given doubt space in our mind, it will creep into our heart and into every area in our lives including in our relationship with the Lord.

· Philippians in 4:4,referencing the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, and the importance of guarding our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

· When we are in concert with the Holy Spirit, we are guarding our hearts and minds by keeping them focused on the peace of God.

· When we allow doubt into our mind and our heart, there is collateral damage that will occur.

o Doubt so difficult to conquer

o Maneuver in your mind

o Pull you back from activities and opportunities

o Feed you with lies that you are not good enough.

o It will lie to you and create a space for you to retreat

o Block off what God wants to tell you in truth

· Once the spirit of Doubt can get you to buy in just a little bit, then it can start to move in your life and you are giving it access to your mind and your heart.

· By coming into agreement with anything the Spirit of Doubt, you are creating opportunity for Doubt to grow.

· Doubt has opened the door to Insecurity, Jealousy, Self-delusion

· Our words change from hopeful to despair and are self-defeating and leading us to believe failure is our outcome.

· Joseph and the Spirit of Doubt trying to erode his trust while he was in imprisoned.

· Never let the circumstances you see, dictate your outcome.

· Doubt wants to get you to a moment of weakness, and then use your own words and thoughts against you.

· We tend to respond to how we feel, and not wait to know the truth or hear from the Holy Spirit before we react or respond.

· Doubt wants to take our mind off the Lord and erodes our faith and trust in Him.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing part two of two demonic influences, the demon of Guilt and the demon of Shame. These two demons can work separately but are intertwined and when they work together it’s like a one two punch coming against us. This week we are going to discuss the demon of Shame and talk more about how they work together against us and what we need to do to evict them from our lives.

The demon of shame can increase it’s strength if we do nothing about it. If we chose to remain silent, hide it, or lie about it, we compound shame’s impact drastically.

Shame feeds itself and then invites embarrassment, unworthiness, and whatever demons are involved in your sin.

When we feel shame, it has a more direct impact on how we feel about ourselves, how we identify ourselves as either a good person or a bad person. Those thoughts place a wedge between us and God.

I’ve seen some people try to cope with their shame by doing good works. Nowhere does the Bible say to make amends for your sin by doing good works.

We need to seek forgiveness for our sins. Our repentance is a part of that or it is not a true seeking of forgiveness. Out of repentance, if we want to do good works they are not tied to any past sinful behavior as a way to absolve.

When we carry shame, we carry the weight of our sin. When we have sincerely sought forgiveness and we still carry around shame, then we are carrying around the lies of the enemy.

Shame works from the inside out. While guilt works from the outside inward. Shame can lead to depression and anxiety. We can have a fear of condemnation, a fear of accusation, a fear of judgment.

We don’t want to address shame, we want to hide it. We may justify our guilt, but we don’t generally justify our shame

In order to do that we have to first Acknowledge our guilt and our shame with ourselves, and then with the Lord.

Next we need to repent. The act of repentance is a complete turning away from the sinful behavior. We don’t want to give the enemy any legal rights to remain, so a complete repentance is one step in how we remove those rights.

Ask for forgiveness, this includes forgiving yourself. Without this step, we will not receive the forgiveness we need to move forward.

Fourth, look for any areas in your life that will lead you back to feelings of shame or guilt.

Fifth, we need to tell the demons of guilt and the demons of shame and any and all of its associated to leave you immediately. Revoke their access to you and any rights they have to your mind, body and spirit.

Sixth, we need to make sure we are being proactive in remaining in a repentant, forgiven state. Invite the Holy Spirit into your life, to move and grow in you. Read the Bible, have some scriptures ready to go to quote when you feel the enemy is antagonizing you. Be strong.

Remember, Isaiah 54:17, No weapon formed against you shall prosper.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are discussing two demonic influences, the demon of Guilt and the demon of Shame. These two demons can work separately but are intertwined and when they work together it’s like a one two punch coming against us. We are going to discuss this in 2 episodes and we will begin with identifying both demons and then honing down on the demon of Guilt. Next week we will focus on the demon of Shame and talk more about how they work together against us and what we need to do to evict them from our lives.

Part 1 of 2 episodes focused on the demons of Guilt and Shame.

Guilt: the fact of having committed a breach of conduct especially violating law and involving a penalty.

Shame: a painful emotion caused by consciousness of guilt, shortcoming or impropriety.

In this combo, the demon of guilt will usually be the strongman.

We need to understand what guilt is rooted in

There are three main places I see guilt derive from: religious spirit, unintentional poor parenting, inability to forgive oneself.

The demon of guilt pairs heavily with the demon of religion based on man-made rules and legalistic bondages.

We need to live righteously. The Bible talks about our need to live righteously from beginning to end.

The gift of Jesus given to us fulfills the need for meeting the rules of the Old Testament and the importance of that gets washed away in manmade rules.

Jesus fulfilled the law. We still live up to the righteous standards, we can do that.

Matthew 8:11.

Manmade religious rules take the focus off Jesus and put them on the rules and how often we fail at the rules.

The Spirit of religion creates fear when we can’t live up to the rules God never intended,

Guilt deceives you into believing you cannot be forgiven because your offense was against God, so He doesn’t want you anymore.

Spirit of Guilt as a result of unintentional poor parenting.

Things that happen to us as a child tend to have some sticking power

You can have guilt as a seed planted from your parents that was used as a way to control you when communication and establishing trust were much better options.

There is the poor parenting by not establishing healthy boundaries they should be expecting of other people

Guilt works well with failure.

Our inability to forgive ourselves.

We treat ourselves worse than we allow others to treat us.

Matthew 6:15

If Jesus is your savior, then He can forgive you, but if you don’t forgive yourself, then He cannot forgive you.

When we continue to focus on the past, or hold onto it and place it above our relationship with the Lord, we are creating for ourselves an idol.

With guilt there is 1 healthy way that will show up in our lives and it is called conviction.

Conviction is when the Holy Spirit is letting us know it is not in alignment with the Lord.

That conviction is to lead us away from sin and produce in us repentance and restores our relationship with the Lord.

2 Corinthians 7: 9

The entire objective of the enemy, to lead us to condemnation by failing to respond in repentance to the conviction of the Holy Spirit.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode we are going to be discussing the Spirit of Rebellion. We will look at Rebellion from the very beginning and see how it played out in the Bible. Then we will discuss how we get caught in the trap of Rebellion and why so many people fall for Satan’s trap.

You can show your support at www.buzzsprout.com/1995558/support.

Top Show points:

· Why the Spirit of Rebellion seems attractive.

· Genesis 3. He appears to Eve in the Garden of Eden as a serpent. Satan presents himself not as he wants us to see him

· Satan can and will communicate with us and we must choose our response.

· Eve engages in conversation.

· Jesus tells us a little about it in Luke 10:18 That was the first rebellion.

· Satan creates a wedge through doubt

· Adam participates in Rebellion against God

· Satan successfully created a divide Genesis 3:8,

· Satan used deception as a way to lead Adam and Eve into Rebellion.

· When we are considering rebellion, we are questioning the nature of God

· We are saying that what Jesus did, his death and resurrection, was not enough.

· Matthew 26:39

· When Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden, their lives changed forever., physically and spiritually

· One of their sons, commits the first murder.

· Rebellion breeds sin. When we take that first step, we don’t stop at one step.

· Why does Rebellion seem so attractive?

o First, we don’t always realize we are entering into rebellion. We rationalize or justify what we are about to do.

o Second, our desire to obtain what the rebellion provides becomes more important than what God provides.

o Third, we aren’t willing to be honest with ourselves that our rebellion is taking us to a place that is drawing us further from God.

o Fourth, we would rather continue in rebellion than have to admit we are involved in things we should not be.

o Fifth, we have become so engaged in what we are receiving, that we no longer want a relationship with God.

· Rebellion is turning our back on God. Rebellion is the source of evil. Satan is the father of lies and everything he offers is a lie.

· So why do so many people fall for this trap from Satan?

o Satan rebelled from God as a result of his pride and his desire to become God

o Satan uses our weaknesses against us to pull us into rebellion.

· Here is how God views the rebellion of man:

o 1 Samuel 15:23.

o Proverbs 17:11,

· We need to wake up as a church. We need to see Satan for what He is, a void, a darkness that offers us nothing in rebellion. God is the provider of all things. Rebellion is death. God is life.

· John 10:10.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are discussing how to clear the obstacles to our own healing and deliverance through forgiveness.

Top Show points:

· Story of someone who believes forgiveness isn’t necessary and revenge is the answer.

· We cannot equate our forgiveness to justice. When we forgive, it doesn’t mean we forget.

· When we enact revenge and intentionally set out to harm the other person in response, we are in a worse position than we were before.

· Example of a licensed therapist about whether forgiveness is necessary for healing.

· “Forgiveness can be a powerful tool for healing, it is a personal choice and may not always be the best option for everyone.

· The decision to forgive should be made with careful consideration and support from a trusted therapist or coach.”

· Forgiveness is something that should be done with support from the Lord, not a therapist or coach who could help you “decide” to make the choice.

· There is a lot of nonsense psychology out there and it is designed to focus on self, not the Lord. When we are only focused on self, we are taking our eyes off the Lord .

· Story of someone who had their own concept of what forgiveness should be

· This person is treating forgiveness like it is transactional.

· First, Forgiveness is not granted. Forgiveness needs to be freely given or it is not forgiveness.

· Second, Forgiveness isn’t about who asks for it or whoever needs to be forgiven won’t get it unless it is asked for.

· Third, if we are the one who committed the hurtful act, we don’t have a right to expect forgiveness from the one we hurt.

· Fourth, whoever commits a hurtful act against us does not need to acknowledge what they did was wrong in order for us to forgive them.

· Sixth, we do not get to demand compensation for the hurtful act as a part of our forgiveness.

· Seventh, we cannot demand repentance of someone else. That is not ours to demand.

· Forgiveness is a process, it may take a month, a day, a year or a minute to get through the process of forgiveness. A painful situation can be broken by spending time with the Lord and allowing Him to move through your heart.

· Until we get the ugly out, we don’t have room for the beautiful He has to offer. He will talk to you, comfort you, guide you. Through that, the bondage of ugly will be broken if you allow Him and submit to Him.

· You don’t have to rush this process. He is helping you. This is what we are commanded to do, but He is not demanding it of you. He walks you through it so when you get to the place where you begin to see the beautiful, it is genuine and it will be lasting for you.

· Submit to Him all you are carrying, and He will gladly take it from you. He never intended it for you, so He will gladly take it from you.

This is Part 2 of our Series on Forgiveness

I gave you a micro summary of part 1 of the series, including the first 3 points

Our first point: When we do not forgive, we may be creating Bitterness in our heart. We don’t want to give bitterness an opportunity to take root.

Point 2: When we do not forgive, we are not forgiven. We want to make sure we are forgiving others if we want to be forgiven ourselves.

Point 3: When we fail to forgive someone, we stay tied to that someone. Holding onto unforgiveness ties us to the person and the sin attached to the act and the unforgiveness of the act we are failing to forgive.

Point 4: When we do not forgive others, are prayers are hindered.

Mark 11:22, 1 Peter 3: 7

Point 5: When we do not forgive, Satan is given opportunity.

2 Corinthians 2: 5

Point 6: When we do not forgive, we may find ourselves stumble in darkness

I told you about my friend acting petty and how it has affected her behavior and her heart

1 John 2:9

I shared my story about John and how the Lord helped me shed a bad memory I associated with John.

Through this series, we are also going to hear some stories that are compelling and will hopefully convince you to look at any areas of unforgiveness you are carrying. We can get rid of the weight and chains of bondage.

What is forgiveness? To be clear, forgiveness involves an intentional decision to let go of resentment and anger.

Why is forgiveness so hard? The majority of offenses that occur are not illegal acts, they may be intentional, but they are not illegal and we want justice for being wronged

We are going to discuss 10 points that illustrate the price we pray when we fail to forgive.

Here is our first point: Creating Bitterness in our heart

Hebrews 12

Story of John still holding onto bitterness against his ex-wife from over 50 years ago

Resentment equals unforgiveness

Unforgiveness is like a plant of rosary pea, which is a flowering plant that produces toxic seeds in our life that we embrace and want to taste.

We often nurture, feed and hold onto unforgiveness losing sight of the danger and damage we are doing to ourselves

Bitter root in Deuteronomy 29:

When we fail to recognize unforgiveness in our lives, we set ourselves up for disaster. We cannot allow ourselves to be so deceived by our own heart of unforgiveness.

Point 2: When we do not forgive, we are not forgiven

John 3 the price Jesus paid so we are forgiven without any cost to ourselves. As a believer, our salvation is the most expensive gift we have ever received. The costliest thing we are holding onto is our eternal life. If we continue to hold onto our forgiveness instead of giving it away, we are leading ourselves to a path of death.

In Matthew 6

When we choose not to forgive, we are choosing our own life over the life that Jesus gave for us. We are creating a separation between us and Him.

Point 3: When we fail to forgive someone, we stay tied to that someone.

By carrying around the unforgiveness of that person, you are creating a relationship to that person that functions like a warped soul tie. You will stay attached to that sin because you are anchoring yourself to it, instead of giving it to the rightful owner, the Lord.

Whether you choose to carry it is entirely on you, but it will not hold back the other person. Your lack of forgiveness is not a punishment on that person, but becomes your own sin tied to that person.

Over time you will find that those around you do not want to be tied to your unforgiveness.

We need to make sure we address this so that the Accuser has nothing to hold against us. Ask the Holy Spirit to reveal to you any areas in your heart where unforgiveness has a place.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be addressing two areas of the church today that are increasing and are leading Christians astray. Both are being done gradually over time and will only increase the more we know less. I am referring to the Spirit of Apostasy and the Spirit of Apathy. Both are destructive to the church and yet they are the opposite in nature except for one key fact, both separate a Christian from the Lord and lead them to the eternal fire.

Spirit of Apostasy and the Spirit of Apathy, both separate a Christian from the Lord and lead them to the eternal fire.

Apostasy is the act of refusing to continue to follow, obey, or recognize a religious faith. Apostasy will lead you away from the word and a relationship with God.

Truth must never be compromised.

We need to know the truth of the Bible, have a relationship with the Lord, we need unity among the church body for the essentials in Christian beliefs, salvation in Christ, teaching contrary to God’s word, is false, ungodly teaching

Jude 1:12, addressing false teachers and their eternal judgment

Jude 1:4, those who reject him and who teach false doctrine is in rebellion to God and will be eternally separated from Him.

Spirit of Apostasy: when people turn away from God’s truth and embrace false teaching. There will be a judgment on those who turn their back on God.

Apostasy works with a spirit of rebellion, lying spirit, spirit of pride, lust for power, greed, jealousy.

The example I gave a few episodes ago about the man calling the Christian woman who disagreed with him Satan is an example of heresy, blasphemy and apostasy in the message he was originally sharing.

He was an example of someone who twists truth becomes hyper focused on one thing and use only their own understanding to interpret and come to their own conclusions and use hate and anger to spit at others who do or say anything contrary to what they have determined is the truth.

Apostasy can function as a counterfeit to Christianity or be positioned to look like an elevated form of Christianty as those who preach counter to the word of God are creating their own religion with their own standards of what they want to be right and wrong.

Jude 1:9 speaks to this behavior, slander and irrational to what they do not understand

One purpose of Apostasy is to create divisions within the church. One of the major divisions in the church today is the LGBTQ community.

Leviticus 18:22, The Bible is clear about what the Lord thinks of homosexuality.

In Leviticus the Lord was giving us His standards for holy living. We live under the new Covenant with a salvation with Jesus, our salvation, our restoration is through Jesus, not the sacrifices. The standards did not change. Just because Jesus came, he did not negate God’s standards.

With homosexuality, God says the act is detestable, He did not say hate the person. The act is what is detestable. The person still needs to know Jesus. We are not to condemn the person and act in hate towards them either way. We are to be obedient in a loving way to show them the Way, the Truth and the Life.

Jude 1:17 referring to the judgment of those leading others astray.

Jude 1:4 also speaks to the judgment of those teaching a life of immorality is covered by grace,

I want to shar

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are looking at names in the Bible. Specifically, we are looking at the Great I Am, versus Satan and what their names as revealed to us in the Bible mean to us on a daily basis. When we are in the midst of a battle or even just trying to understand what is going on around us, remembering these names and applying them in the situation will help you to discern what could be at the root of your situation and how to move through your situation with Him. If we want to conquer our unseen enemies, we need to understand what is at the core of our unseen enemy.
Top Show points:

· Looked at the Great I Am, versus Satan and what their names reveal to us in the Bible.

· Through names we see how the name of a person can represent their relationship to us. A name reveals character. A name reveals purpose. A name reveals past, present and future.

· Exodus 3: 1-5, Then God introduces himself. He tells Moses who He is, He does not hide it, He is specific and puts it in terms Moses will understand and identify with.

· Genesis 3: 11, From this part of their discussion again God is telling Him who He is in relation to Moses by bringing in Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. Moses knows who his descendants are, he knows he is an Israelite, so he can identify with this and God’s people. He tells Moses, I Am who I Am.

· Genesis 15:1, God is revealing himself to Abram as to what Abram can expect from Him. This is the beginning of God creating His people. He has to introduce himself to Abram so He can begin to build Abram into the man He created Him to be, the father of the nation of Israel and ultimately the lineage from which Jesus will be born.

· Isaiah 43:3, God saying, I Am and then tells you specifically who He is and what that means in relation to you.

· Isaiah 43: 5, Another I Am, and a reassurance for us that He is here with us through everything.

· Isaiah 43: 10, Here God is telling us, who He is in relation to everything and everyone else. Then again, letting us know our place in relation to Him with a description of our place with Him.

· Isaiah 43: 12, God refers to himself as I Am throughout the Bible, and then in the New Testament Jesus does as well.

· In Malachi 3, we read “I the Lord do not change.“

· Hebrews 13:8 that He is the same yesterday, today and forever. When He says I Am, there is no limitation.

· Isaiah 64:4,This again explains who God is in relation to us, but also tells us something about who He is in providing for us. There is a two-way communication, implies relationship with Him.

· Isaiah 64: 8, This is the perfect analogy for accepting who He is in relation to us, shaping us in to what he creates us to be

· Daniel 7:13, He is talking of Jesus. Jesus is able to approach God and be in His presence, Jesus defends us from the accuser

· Satan has many names: Prince of Darkness, Beelzebub, the Antichrist, Father of Lies, Ancient Serpent.

· Revelation 12;10, the accuser, satan, is always present to trick us, deceive us into doing what is against God and then he goes to God and accuses us so that he can get permission to evoke a penalty.

· Job 1:6, Satan telling the Lord he was outroaming throughout the earth

As always, let’s discuss our Top Show points:

We reviewed a word from the Lord on starting out this new Year, our third season. He made 8 points.

First: I want My people to hear My Voice.

Second: He wants His people to understand what He means versus what the world tells them He means.

Third: What is behind a word?

Fourth: What is true versus what is said for gain.

Fifth: The enemy is a wordsmith and a twister of truth.

Sixth: Look behind the words through the “veil of truth” for My truth.

Seventh: I reveal all to those who seek Me.

Eighth: I am clear in My truth.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, if you want a personal relationship with the Lord, you need to be active about reading His word.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our discussion of the spiritual gifts and in this episode we are discussing miraculous powers. This is the 9th gift, our last gift to discuss and the last episode of 2023. What a great topic to close out the 2023 and begin 2024 with. All these gifts are alive and active in 2024, just as they were in 34!

Top Show points:

· Discussed the Gift of Miraculous Powers. This gift is alive today.

· 1 Corinthians 12:4-11.

· To summarize the 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

· There are Power Gifts, Revelation Gifts and Spoken Gifts

· Acts 8:26, Philip gave the gospel to the Ethiopian Eunich then was transported by the Holy Spirit to Azotus

· 2 Kings 13:20, dead man came back to life after being thrown into Elisha’s tomb and touched his body.

· The Holy Spirit is the same Holy Spirit at Pentecost, the same God Elisha worshipped. This is the same God that parted the Red Sea. God hasn’t changed, we have.

· God’s power hasn’t diminished, we just stopped pursuing Him and instead look to do everything in our own power.

· Story of a man from Latin America being transported to a man in Europe in a time of need.

· Matthew 14:15, multiplication of the fish and the loaves of bread

· Heidi Baker has seen this happen in her ministry in Mozambique.

· Why does it happen for some people and not others? If you are willing to believe with me that miracles can still happen, then isn’t the next natural question how can you be a part of this? What is it about the people or circumstances of today that are allowing these miracles to occur?

· 6 common traits of those who receive miracles today:

o First Their heart is positioned for the Lord. They have a need, they voice that need, and they present it to the Lord.

o Second, all of these people also had a true relationship with the Lord, spending time with Him.

o Third, all of these people submitted their request to him and surrendered their need in faith.

o Fourth, when He provided, all acknowledged it was by the hand of God.

o Fifth, all of these people were humble before during and after.

o Sixth, these people exhibited a spirit of thankfulness even as they made the request, they were thankful no matter what.

· While the Lord may reserve some miracles to be done with people He has anointed, a miracle of multiplication combined with faith can produce a miraculous outcome

· If we position our hearts with His and we pursue Him, miracles can happen anywhere at anytime.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies and in this episode we are discussing the gift of healings. Our purpose is to reveal what the Bible tells us about it, look at some healings in the Bible. Next week, as we close out the year, we will discuss miraculous powers to complete this series on the Spiritual Gifts.
Top Show points:

· We continued our discussion of the spiritual gifts and in this episode we discussed the gift of healings.

· 1 Corinthians 12:4-11

· 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

· There are Power gifts, Revelation gifts and Spoken gifts

· The gift of healings. This gift is often treated with such skepticism and those who have it are frequently maligned and dishonored.

· Today, we rely on science, on being able to prove things definitively that we won’t allow a place in our world for healings. Our rational mind won’t accept them, it’s like a veil covering our eyes from the truth of God. The enemy is the one that has created that veil.

· The gift of healings is not where people are praying for someone to be healed. The gift of healings is not where the elders come and lay hands on and anoint someone who is ill. That is what we should be doing, but it does not require an anointing to do.

· The gift of healings is a spiritual gift, a supernatural gift. It will only function out of the power of the Holy Spirit.

· Paul, Acts 28, the aftermath of the shipwreck, Paul and the men washed ashore onto Malta and healed everyone.

· There are those who have or have had a healing ministry, and they are exceptional in healing Diabetes, but not as successful in heart conditions.

· Example with Jesus, Luke 8 where woman was healed just by touching his cloak

· Acts 19, Paul was in Ephesus and people were healed by touching his cloak without him being present, just a piece of it.

· Shared a story from years ago when I received my anointing for gift of healing from Randy Clark

· Shared story of praying for woman over her rent and then praying over her eyes, to recover from blindness

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, visit our website, lovingconversationssalo.com. · Like the word of wisdom, the word of knowledge has zero to do with the amount of natural or human knowledge we have obtained.

· A word of knowledge relates to a fact, whether it is past or present. A word of knowledge entails a person receiving a word of knowledge, or information, that they could not have known otherwise but for that information being revealed through the Holy Spirit.

· Example of a meeting where I gave a word to a woman that included both a word of knowledge and a word of wisdom.

· John 1:43, Jesus used the gift of a word of knowledge and Nathanael believes Him because Jesus gave Nathanael a fact that Jesus could not have known on his own.

· There are times you have to use discernment. Not all words of knowledge provided by the Holy Spirit are meant to be shared. A word of knowledge can be provided to provide background or context for a situation so you can respond or react appropriately. Ex, abuse

· Everything is done for His glory, not to expose or embarrass anyone.

· 2 Kings 6: 8, God was giving Elisha a word of knowledge

· An unintended consequence for the person who has this gift is the people around you may shy away from you. God is all knowledge, and nothing is hidden from Him. People are fearful of what about them that you may know.

· When the Lord chooses to use someone for the gift of knowledge, it is at God’s discretion, not ours. We have no control over when, where, why, how much or for what purpose. We are just obedient with what He has asked us to do with the information.

· If the Lord wants to share something that will be used for his glory to help bring someone closer to Him, then He will share it.

· If the Lord is trusting you with information, that trust should not be violated. If you are not trustworthy in this area, then how can the Lord trust you with His gift.

· Words of knowledge reveal circumstances or events from the past or the present, not the future. The reason it is used will be revealed at the time and always for God’s purposes, not man’s.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are discussing the spiritual gifts and this episode is the gift of Wisdom. We are talking about a supernatural level of wisdom, one of the Revelation gifts. To get to a better understanding we need to lay the foundation.
Top Show points:

· Discussed the spiritual gift of Wisdom, which is one of the Revelation gifts.

· 1 Corinthians 12

· Power Gifts, Spoken Gifts, Revelation Gifts

· The 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

· The definition of wisdom is: the quality of having experience, knowledge, and good judgment; the quality of being wise.

· Worldly wisdom and Supernatural wisdom are not in the same family.

· To understand wisdom, we have to first believe, understand and trust that this gift is truly, positively and absolutely given to us by the One True God. There is no other source of supernatural wisdom.

· This gift is like no wisdom here on earth, that is generated by man, no matter what they do, no matter what their education, no matter what their IQ.

· 1 Corinthians 2, Paul discussed Godly wisdom

· We should all be on the same page that the One True God knows the past, the present and the future.

· The gift of wisdom isn’t just a stand-alone gift and it is more than just one thing. It is a set of something in a moment in time that relates to a set of something in the future. Remember earthly wisdom and spiritual wisdom are not related.

· Genesis 6, verse 11, 7:11

· The Lord gave Noah a word of wisdom, meaning He gave him an explanation of an event coming in the future and what he would need to do to avoid that destruction.

· New Testament example of a word of wisdom being given in Acts 9. In this example we saw two gifts in operation, the word of wisdom and the word of knowledge.

· Discussed Saul’s encounter with the Lord on his way to Damascus.

· Acts 9:10

· Example of a word of knowledge when God shared with Ananias Saul was in Damascus and where he was staying, and Saul’s vision. That was a word of knowledge revealed through the Holy Spirit, Ananias could not have known on his own.

· The word of wisdom. The Holy Spirit says he will use Saul in the future as His chosen instrument to proclaim the gospel to the Gentiles.

· Ananias chose to obey the word of wisdom given and the world was changed as a result.

· To further clarify, the word of wisdom is not what Solomon operated with, that was an elevated level of earthly wisdom to navigate what happens on earth at a given time.

· It is one thing to have earthly wisdom and it is another to use it. If the Holy Spirit gives you something, use it, don’t squander it.

If you are growing through our podcast, consider supporting us as we continue to build

Welcome back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to talk about how we are preparing ourselves to be used by the Holy Spirit. This is part of our discussion on the Spiritual Gifts, how you wonder? Well, specifically, we are going to talk about whether we are an opportunity or a resource the Holy Spirit can use. You might think they both sound good but as we dig in deeper you will see that they are nothing alike and we should be striving to be one much more than the other. So let’s dig in.

As always, let’s discuss our Top Show points:

· Discussed how we are preparing ourselves to be used by the Holy Spirit.

· This is part of our discussion on the Spiritual Gifts, as we discussed whether we are an opportunity or a resource the Holy Spirit can use.

· Opportunity: a set of circumstances that makes it possible to do something

· Resource: a stock or supply of money, materials, staff, and other assets that can be drawn on by a person or organization in order to function effectively.

· 1 Corinthians 12:4, Lists the gifts of the Spirit

· Develop our gifts so that these gifts are a part of who we are and we can use any and all of them as needed, as directed. In doing this, we become a resource, more than just an opportunity.

· God can use anyone, anything, at anytime, doesn’t even need to be a believer.

· Numbers 22:21. Story of Balaam and his donkey and how God used the donkey as an opportunity to get Balaam’s attention and direct him what He wanted him to do and not do

· The donkey was used in a miraculous way. We are not desiring to be the donkey, we are desiring to be like Jesus, where we move and do as the Holy spirit directs us and nothing limits us.

· Acts 10:9, Story of Peter receiving a vision on a rooftop and being directed to go with the men who were coming for him.

· Peter then shared the gospel message and all of Cornelius’ family were saved, so many that Peter was there a few days. The Holy Spirit fell on Cornelius’ family the same as it did at Pentecost with them speaking in tongues and praising God.

· The difference here is Peter developed his relationship with the Holy Spirit, he took time out of his day to pray. He also received the interpretation of the vision and was obedient to the Holy Spirit.

· Peter gives us an example of obedience.

· This is the life we want to be living. When we are living in this way, the enemy cannot move in our lives. He can attack, but when we are that in tune with the Holy Spirit in our lives, the enemy will not be able to gain traction.

· Alexandria Troas, in modern day Turkiye. Paul on his way back from Macedonia headed to Jerusalem but stopped for 7 days in Alexandria Troas. If you want to what this city looks like today, check out our YouTube channel, Life Journey with Dawn Simmons this week.

· Acts 20:7, Story of Eutychus falling out the window, dying and Paul raised him from the dead.

· Paul was able to be a resource and bring him back to life. That is a miraculous event. They saw it more frequently in the first century than we do now, but it could still be done, it requires a supernatural level of faith and the presence of the Holy S

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our discussion of the spiritual gifts and this episode is specifically devoted to the gift of Faith. What we are talking about here is a supernatural level of faith. It is the greatest of the 3 power gifts. I would even argue that it is the greatest of all the gifts because without it, you can’t operate in any of the gifts. You have to have a supernatural level of faith in order to know without failing that what you are doing in His name is going to do what it is supposed to do. We don’t all have this level of faith. We don’t all operate at a level where we can speak in His name and know that every time we do, it will come to pass.

If you are growing through our podcast, consider supporting us as we continue to build the Kingdom of God. You can support us for as little as $3/month.

As always, let’s discuss our Top Show points:

· Supernatural Gifts: Faith

· 1 Corinthians 12

· Power Gifts, Spoken Gifts, Revelation Gifts

· 3 types of Faith before Supernatural Faith

o Saving Ephesians 2:8

o Simple Faith, Romans 12:3

o Faithfulness, Galatians 5:22

· Gift of faith often overlooked, we can’t see it, we can’t quantify it

· 2 Kings 6: Story of Elisha and opening spiritual eyes of his servant and striking enemy army with blindness

· Story of a deliverance that required supernatural level of faith on my part

· Story of wildfire that required supernatural level of faith on my part to change course of fire

· Develop relationship with the Lord to develop your level of faith

· With God, nothing is impossible, Luke 1

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the concept of God’s will or also called His plan in our lives. It has so many meanings and interpretations and we want to breakdown the concept so when we say “God’s Plan”, we are saying words that depict a life in alignment with what the Lord is wanting to do in our lives.

If you are growing through our podcast, consider supporting us as we continue to build the Kingdom of God. You can support us for as little as $3/month.

I hope this has been time that inspires you to want to learn to grow in your relationship with the Lord and build your prayer life to partner with Him. We want to grow in Him and learn how to work with Him to build the Kingdom and Conquer Our Unseen Enemies. The more we grow the more our life will change, and you can help change the lives of anyone around you who is willing.

If you know anyone who might benefit from this, please share.

Top Show points:

· Discussing the concept of God’s will in our lives

· Misconception on who God is and what He actually does in our lives

· So how do we get to the point where we know God’s plan for us.

o First, we have to know God and the only way to know God is to know His Word.

o Scriptures establish who He is: John 1, John 14:6, John 15:26, Exodus 3:14

o Secondly, we can’t know a plan unless we can hear Him speaking to us.

o Third, we have to start taking part in Kingdom matters. We have to start by praying in partnership with His Kingdom on all matters using His word.

· We are told we need to Ask, Seek and Knock in Matthew 7. All of those activities require effort on our part. He expects effort on our part.

· Don’t abandon your prayers, give them life through His word. Move mountains, tear down strongholds, build up others around you with your prayers

· Story of the pregnant woman and how we prayed over her and the baby at risk for being born premature.

· Submission is not abandon. Submission is a transfer of ownership or rights. Submitting our will, decisions, outcomes to Him, pleases Him and allows Him to move on our behalf. We still have responsibility to pray.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing part 2 of How to Overcome Territorial Spirits. In part 1 we took a look at what the Bible tells us about the existence of spiritual entities, explained how Jesus overcame enabling us to overcome. We put together a general understanding of the demonic rank and order for territories. In this episode we are going to address how these spirits can affect you and your community, and how we are to enter into the territorial spiritual warfare that is occurring around us. What we do impacts our community and breaks years of satanic influence. So we have already laid the groundwork on this topic, now let’s put a plan together for how to do it effectively but simply in your own area using my own town as our example.

If you know anyone who might benefit from this, please share.

As always let’s discuss our Top Show Points:

• To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing Territorial Spirits. We are going to take a look at what the Bible tells us about the existence of spiritual entities, explaining how Jesus overcame enabling us to overcome, a general understanding of their rank and order, how this affects you and your community, and how we are to address this territorial spiritual warfare. This is a 2 part episode.

Top Show Points:

Our discussion centered on territorial spirits

The Bible has hundreds of places where it mentions a supernatural world

Acts 1 tells us when Jesus returns, it will be to the Mount of Olives, just outside Jerusalem, ¾ miles or just over a kilometer.

The supernatural world impacts what happens in our natural world and that’s in part due to the power of territorial spirits.

Ephesians. Chapter 2,

2 Corinthians 4:4,

When Jesus came, he was entering Satan’s territory, where he had set up his rebellious kingdom on earth. Jesus came and overcame his kingdom.

Paul refers to satan several ways in just those two scriptural references: ruler of the kingdom of the air, god of this age. As a believer here on earth, you are seen by satan as an enemy of his kingdom. He will attack you.

Are you a victim or are you a warrior in God’s kingdom? A believer cannot be a pacifist in the kingdom of God. You will be overrun with satan’s strategies. You have to be a warrior if you are going to survive.

Colossians 1:13,

Ephesians in 6:12,

Spiritual beings have assignments and some of those assignments are territorial, not over individuals which is what we have discussed here most frequently.

How dark forces are structured

Satan: Commander

Principalities or princes:
Powers:
Rulers of darkness:
Demons or wicked spirits:

Matthew 13,

Mark 4:15, .

2 Corinthians 10:3, “

The way we enter warfare is through prayer. Do not limit prayer to a posture, a time or a location. Pray with your heart, pray with a purpose and pray without limits.

Ephesians 6:18,

Without faith behind our prayer we are going to struggle. We don’t need to know when, we just need to stand on faith that it will.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the Holy Spirit and how to make sure we are moving with the Holy Spirit, in His fullness. Most believers don’t truly MOVE with Him. The Holy Spirit has been silenced for so long that I doubt first century Christians, the first believers would even understand what Christianity is today. They wouldn’t recognize what we call a church service as “church.” Today we are going to talk about how important it is to MOVE with the Holy Spirit in all areas of our lives.
Top Show Points:

· We discussed how important it is to MOVE with the Holy Spirit in all areas of our lives.

· We have to develop our relationship with him so deeply that no matter what is happening, no matter how loud, no matter how scary, no matter how unsettling, nothing gets in the way of hearing the Holy Spirit and His direction for us and then you will MOVE in the full power and authority the Holy Spirit provides.

· We have to want to grow. We have to want to develop ourselves or we won’t see the Holy Spirit MOVE in our lives

· John 15:5, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”

· Acts 2, Upper Room experience

· My visit to the Upper Room this year

· First century Christians were willing to allow the Holy Spirit to MOVE them and MOVE in their lives. So they saw literal chains break open, they saw dead coming back to life, they saw miraculous healings.

· Once we open the door to our family, He will MOVE in their lives as well.

· Story of my son falling asleep at the wheel and the angel protecting him

· Three types of churches where the Holy Spirit being discounted and relegated to the sidelines while people make all the decisions and plans for the church.

o Churches where the Holy Spirit was never invited

o Churches that talk about the Holy Spirit, but they do not actually know how to or want to engage with Him

o Churches who have scholarly leadership that rely on their knowledge instead of inviting the Holy Spirit to relationship. When book knowledge is leading, there is no room for the Holy Spirit to MOVE.

· Proverbs 27:17, “As ironsharpensiron, so one person sharpens another.”

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing how fasting not only deepens your relationship with the Lord but also serves to counterattack the enemy’s plans over you, your family, your church, your business, anywhere you are involved or have a heart to protect or build. Our discussion will center around what fasting is, how we can include that in our lives and why we want to include it in our lives.

As always let’s discuss our Top Show Points:

· Discussion on fasting: who did it, why we should consider it, what it is and what it is not.

· Read from Chapter 1 of my book Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God’s Voice where I am discussing a 21 Day Daniel Fast

· Talked about the Bible greats Fasted

· Looked at Jesus as example and his fasting for 40 days in the wilderness. His ministry began with power and authority and miracles.

· Fasting is simply abstaining from, generally food, for a spiritual purpose. I say generally because we can also abstain from other things that would be acceptable for a fast, like abstaining from our phones for a period so that we can instead devote that time to the Lord.

· Fasting is meant for everyone.

· Romans 12:1 “ to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God”

· When our heart is right, so our motives to fast, are genuine, fasting is a source of release

· Listed 13 actions produced by fasting, such as breakthrough

· Fasting is a powerful weapon. The enemy doesn’t want us to fast.

· Matthew 6:16, discussing being discreet about fasting

· The obstacles of fasting: self-control, doubt, discouragement, selfish desires, rebellion, don’t forget about pride.

· I consider fasting as if I am sowing into my relationship with the Lord.

· You can fast for breakthrough or whatever your specific petition is for yourself. You can fast for an outcome for someone else like healing or a job. You can fast for your church. You can fast for an event, so the outcome is what the Lord wants. You can fast for a list of things.

· You can tailor them to your schedule.

· There are 4 basic types of fasts.

  1. Complete Fast: no food no water, this should be rare and dr approved

  2. Normal fast: no food, just liquids

  3. Partial fast: no meat, only veggies, or time dictated

  4. Custom fast: no coffee, no soda, one meal, easier for people with health concerns

· Don’t forget you can do any or all of these with non-food items as well. It just needs to be something that is a sacrifice of some sort so it is authentic.

· It’s not a work, don’t see it as a works-based activity. It’s a heart-based activity where you will receive more back than you will ever give up.

· Commit to putting it on the calendar and decide what kind of fast you are going to do and let Him move in your life

Top Show Points:

Discussed what a Jezebel spirit is and how to recognize it

Discussed a summary of who the Bible reveals Jezebel was and what happened in Israel under her influence. This is again, just a summary. 1 and 2 Kings is where you will find all the history and story of Jezebel.

Jezebel is considered one of the most evil, if not the most evil woman in the Bible.

The demons Jezebel worked with to do all of her evil, are still functioning today in our times. They are still influencing and bringing disaster and destruction on God’s people.

Today we have Jesus having come and giving us the Holy Spirit, we have discernment to help us fully recognize the Jezebel Spirit.

The Jezebel Spirit is about control. They have to control everything and there is no interference with their control.

22 of these characteristics and behaviors they want to control.

  1. Agenda

  2. Conversation

  3. Information

  4. Money

  5. Time

  6. Access

  7. Narrative

  8. Sexuality

  9. Control leadership

  10. Image

  11. Decisions

  12. Relationships.

  13. Atmosphere

  14. Preachy

  15. Grace

  16. Churches

  17. Creates hurt

  18. Alliances

  19. Role identity

  20. Blackmail

  21. People are disposable

  22. God.

The differences in women vs men

For women specifically:

  1. Seek to discredit the men more often than they will seek to discredit women

  2. Often triggered by a traumatic event, loss of a loved one, divorce, abuse

  3. Her children are not immune to her control and will often be abusive

  4. Will use seduction under any circumstances to gain control, no one is off limits

  5. Abuse of her spouse is fair game

For men specifically:

  1. Can be sexually abusive or sexually demanding of their spouse

  2. Will using demeaning methods to illicit control

  3. Will use trauma triggers to illicit control

  4. Will use children against their mother

A Jezebel’s behavior mirrors that of a narcissist. One thing that will distinguish the difference between the two is the narcissist will do these behaviors just for their own benefit, while the Jezebel Spirit does things for their own benefit but with the added objective to cause the destruction of others.

When we are up against something that is bigger than what we can see in the natural, we want to follow 5 simple steps. We want to act in response to enemy tactics. Remember tho, this isn’t the person we are fighting against, it is the enemy who is using the person we are against. I gave you a general plan and make changes to fit your situation.

  1. Find a prayer partner.

  2. Put a prayer plan together, when and what are you praying about

  3. Use scripture to support your prayer plan

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the Spirit of Discouragement. Specifically how Discouragement works and how we not only allow it, but nurture it in the way we respond.

Top Show Points:

· We discussed the Spirit of Discouragement

· Discouragement is powerful. There are three main reasons why Discouragement is so powerful.

· First, the Spirit of Discouragement enters our life slowly, quietly, and in ways we don’t readily recognize. Matthew 21, Jesus and the fig tree.

· The tree was in the midst of everyone, it grew, it was recognized for what it appeared to be, but it was not what it appeared to be. As a result, Jesus did not hesitate to dispense of that tree. Likewise, we need to see the people around us, the words used over us and with us, the activities that we are doing and not doing for what they are to us in our walk with the Lord. When someone or something is a discouragement, call it for what it is and do not let it hinder your relationship with the Lord.

· The second reason Discouragement is so powerful is because it can work with any demon grouping. If you have listened to any of my previous podcasts where we discuss specific demons and groupings, we talk about how and why they work well together. Some demons are just a more natural fit with others in their attempts to lead us to destruction. The thing with discouragement is that it is a bit like vanilla. Vanilla pairs well with nearly everything.

· Is there any area in your life you can think of that is completely immune to discouragement? I can’t think of any. Our careers, our family life, our marriage, our prayer life, our friendships, our finances, our businesses, all of it and more are all prone to have some aspect that we will feel discouraged by. Like vanilla, discouragement comes with a cost and it is expensive. If we allow discouragement to flavor any area of our lives, it can be hard to get it out.

· The third reason discouragement is so powerful if we allow it is that it can and will keep you from moving forward with the Lord. The whole point, the whole objective of Discouragement is to keep you from victory. We have victory in every area of our life with the Lord, but if discouragement can keep you from taking ahold of that victory then it is fulfilling it’s role in satan’s kingdom.

· We can’t have victory if we keep losing over and over to discouragement.

· My husband gave you his story of his climb on Mt Fuji

· I shared with you the story of my son climbing Mt Fuji

· All of the things we encounter in our lives provide an opportunity for discouragement. It is how we allow that opportunity to grow in our lives that determines how deep our relationship with the Lord will become.

· Discussed James 1:2-8

· Think of discouragement like your Mt Fuji. Decide how you will handle your Mt Fuji. Stay committed to overcoming discouragement and let it draw you closer to the Lord with every step.

I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to get back to the basics. We are talking about conquering our unseen enemies, but we are talking about the things we do to ourselves where the conquering is our own doing. Specifically we are going to address 5 barriers that prevent us from being able to move forward with the Lord. Not every unseen enemy is satan, sometimes we create our own enemies out of our behaviors. So let’s take a look at the 5 most common barriers I have seen created in the lives of people I have worked with over the years.

As always let’s discuss our Top Show Points:

· Address 5 barriers that prevent us from being able to move forward with the Lord

· The 5 most common barriers I have seen created in the lives of people I have worked with over the years.

o Overcommitment

§ The 5 most common barriers I have seen created in the lives of people I have worked with over the years.

§ Let’s look at Moses, he was overcommitted and he wasn’t as effective as he could be because he overextended himself. As long as he was overextending himself, Moses could not truly lead the people the way the Exodus 18, starting at verse 13.

o Undercommitment

§ We already hit on how overcommitting really just means we are undercommitting to where we are called. Here, undercommitment, is where we are intending to do what we are called to do by the Lord, but we are not willing to do what is required

§ Proverbs 16:3, Galatians 6:9,

o Failure to gro

§ Failure to grow is related to undercommitment, its like a cousin of undercommitment. Failure to grow I see as a barrier because it doesn’t mean they are incapable of growing, it means they aren’t willing to put in the effort.

§ Colossians 1:9, Ephesians 4, Hebrews 6, Luke 8, 1 Corinthians 13,

o Blitzkrieg growth

§ When we want to grow in knowledge, we need to be focused.

§ Always choose quality time with the Lord not quantity time with several ministries.

§ Hebrews 12

o Fear

§ We have to trust in the Lord, we have develop our faith to overcome our fears.

§ Story of David, Moses and Saul. They gave their heart full of heaviness to the Lord and they acted. The Lord doesn’t ask us to do it alone, but we have to be willing to trust Him and act.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two devotionals out based on the Loving Conversations Book. One devotional is for women and one is for men. Those are available on the website www.lovingconversationssalo.com.

· Come to my live event on 9/23 if you are in the Los Angeles area and experience the Holy Spirit, 80 Wood Rd, Journey the Church Office, for more details listen to the Invite I posted on 8/24.

Welcome back. This is Dawn Simmons your host for Conquering Our Unseen Enemies, and I want to invite you to an in-person event I am hosting called In His Presence. If you are in the Los Angeles area on September 23, please join me as we take time to experience the Holy Spirit and see what He has to reveal to each of us. This is my third In His Presence event this summer and each one has been amazing. As a group, we come together and invite the Holy Spirit and give Him time to speak to each of us quietly in His way. During this quiet alone time, those who have come have experienced answers to prayer, an increase in visions and these are people who don’t usually get visions and have been uniquely touched as they hear from the Lord as they never have before. I’ve been doing this for over 15 years and the Lord never disappoints. There is an increase in His presence and His power when we come together in one accord seeking Him and only Him. If you are in the area, specifically Camarillo, CA, on September 23, from 7pm-9pm please join us. We are meeting at 80 Wood Rd, Suite 202, Camarillo, CA. This is the office for Journey the Church. Send me an email and let me know you are coming!! I look forward to seeing you there!

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the Spiritual Gift of Discerning of Spirits. We will discuss what it is, what it isn’t and how we can use this gift in our lives. I will share some stories of discernment in my life and explain why it is so important in our everyday life.

As always let’s discuss our Top Show Points:

· Discussing the Gift of Discerning of Spirits

· 1 Cor 12:4-11

· To summarize what Paul shared, the 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

o Gifts we use out of the Power we have from the Holy Spirit are: faith, healings, miraculous powers

o Gifts we have where the Holy Spirit uses us in Revelation are: wisdom, word of knowledge, discerning of spirits

o Gifts where the Holy Spirit uses us and are Spoken are: prophecy, tongues, interpretation of tongues

· Discerning of spirits is often considered the least of the revelation gifts because it involves the spirit realm. By its very nature the spirit realm has to be an active participant in order for this gift to be in operation.

· With the gift of Discerning of Spirits, we are able to “discern” or perceive, recognize spirits by their nature.

· 2 Timothy 2:15 tells us to be ones who “correctly handle the word of truth” in other words, we want to make sure we are using the word to guide us correctly into truth, not twist it or use it in a way that benefits us.

· Paul in Acts 16 when he was in Philippi, Paul was able to discern the evil spirit in the female slave who was involved with divination

· We do nothing in our own power, only through the Holy Spirit.

· I think it is easy to think of discerning of spirits and assume it is associated with things like fortune telling or psychic activity. It’s not mind reading or anything psychological.

· Story of when I was on a walk and the Holy Spirit revealed to me the evil intention of the man hiding in the bush

· Story where the Holy Spirit allowed me to see the demon in my guest room

· Story of the Holy Spirit allowing me to see the angels in my church one Sunday afternoon

· A person who receives visions will generally have the gift of discerning of spirits because visions require the use of the discerning of spirits and seeing into the spirit realm to reveal and explain.

· I think it is a basic need in Christianity. Without it, you have no compass. You have to be able to discern between what is of God and what is not

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and today on Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be going through part 2 of our 2-part discussion on the Anatomy of a Deliverance.

Our Top Show points this week are the steps I use in the Delivery Process:

  1. Reaffirm my life and salvation in Jesus:
“Lord Jesus, I believe You are the Son of God, the only way to God, You died on the cross for my sins, rose again, and because of your sacrifice I am forgiven and receive eternal life in you.”

  2. Remove all pride from my heart:
“I renounce all pride, religious self-righteousness and any spirit that does not come from You. Every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of Heavenly lights who does not change like shifting shadows.”

  3. Forgive all others:
“I forgive all who have ever harmed or wronged me. I lay down all bitterness, all resentment, all hatred, anger and ill will. Lord, bring to my remembrance now any unforgiven feelings or actions I have toward anyone.”
    4. Confess my sin:
I confess all my sins before You, both known and unknown, holding nothing back. I ask you to reveal to me now any sins I need to confess at this time.”

  4. Repent of all sins:
“I repent of all my sins. I turn away from them and I turn to You, Lord, for mercy and forgiveness. I thank you that you are there to welcome me as I turn toward you.”

6. Break all ties with the occult and all false religions:
“I sever all contact I have ever had, knowingly or unknowingly, with the occult or with false religion where you are not the center.”

  1. Release me from all Curses:
“Lord Jesus, I thank You that on the cross You were made a curse, and that I am redeemed from every curse and inherit God’s blessing. Jesus, I ask You to release me and set me free from all curses brought into my life both knowingly and unknowingly. I also ask for any generational curses to be broken now in the name of Jesus. I ask that you reveal to me now anything I am actively doing that is allowing these curses access to my life”

8. Proclaim My Authority in Jesus:
“I submit to You, Jesus, and I resist the devil. I take authority over satan and rebuke him and any plans, strategies or activities he is using in my life in the name of Jesus.”

9. Evict the enemy in the name of Jesus:
“In the name of Jesus, I speak to every demon indwelling and antagonizing me. You have no legal rights over me. I break every bond, I close every door. I command you leave now. In the name of Jesus, I evict you!”

10. Naming and casting out of demons:

Identify the spirits and address them by name commanding them to leave in the name of Jesus. They may resist at first, be persistent and command in faith.

11. Invite the Holy Spirit to replace the void in your heart, mind and body:

“Holy Spirit, I invite you to come into my life and fill every void. Renew my mind, my body, my spirit in all of your goodness, kindness, gentleness, patience, peace, joy, faithfulness, self-control and your unending love for me.”

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons, and today on Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be doing something very different than our usual episodes. This is somewhat of a departure from our discussion on the Spiritual Gifts, but as we discuss today’s topic, you will see how the Spiritual Gifts are used. This is the first of two parts of this discussion. As controversial as this topic may be for some, I wanted to walk you through what a deliverance is like, what happens, so you are aware and understand what was a large part of Jesus’ ministry, about 1/3 of what we know he dealt with in his ministry was casting out demons. Jesus directed us to continue His ministry.

This is actually a really good place to break for this part 1 episode. Next week I will be walking you through what happened as I began to name the demons. Not all were cooperative so I will share all the details of which demons were being stubborn, how they were being stubborn, I experienced a new manifestation during this one, how we handled the stubbornness and what ultimately had to happen in order for her to be free.

I hope you have enjoyed our time discussing the deliverance process, sounds really odd to say but I do hope it has helped to build your understanding. We cannot fully conquer our unseen enemies until we understand everything the Holy Spirit makes available to us. If you know anyone who might benefit from this, please share.

Because of the nature of this episode being more of a story format, I am not doing Top Show Points this week. We will do that at the end of the second episode.

· Follow us in Instagram

I have enjoyed our time this week and look forward to spending time with you again next week when we finish our discussion on deliverance!

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the Demonic Spirit of Religion, Accusation and Perfection and how it impacts our relationship with the Holy Spirit. We are in the process of going through the 9 Spiritual Gifts so it is important to identify and address this demonic influence and remove it from our path as we progress. I will also share with you some stories.

· The Demonic Spirit of Religion, Accusation and Perfection.

· Discussed a family of spirits where the strongman is the Religious Spirit. The family includes legalism, religiosity, traditionalism, formalism, doctrinal obsession, doctrinal error, fear of God, fear of losing salvation, lawfulness, obsession with being right, lack of tolerance for correction, and is works based.

· This spirit does not create a loving atmosphere, but a strict guideline, adherence to that guideline is what is considered important

· A legalist does not seek to rightly obey and apply every word of the Bible to their own life. A legalist is someone who disobeys the Bible by adding to the Bible human rules and regulations for thought, life, and morality, and proceeds to judge themselves and others by these self-made rules.

· Gave story of a legalist giving advice in a Christian Marriage Group that was blanket advice condemning second marriages

· This demonic influence stresses performance over relationship and when it can get you to a place where you think you failed, then you cannot develop relationships that will lead you to freedom in Christ.

· The opposite of legalism that is also not in alignment with God? Rebellion. It looks similar to the fight or flight response we face when we encounter danger. Rebellion is the fight aspect.

· Accusation…This spirit functions by using Judgment, Criticism, and Faultfinding in everything you do. It will twist your motives and make you question your beliefs in the Bible

· In Revelation 12:10, Jesus refers to Satan as our accuser, “For the accuser of our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night,”. The enemy enjoys listing our sins, continually bringing them up so we won’t accept the forgiveness that Jesus provides.

· Our Advocate, Jesus, as our defender and realize he is able to address the accusations against us. He paid the ultimate price for us. I John 2 tells us Jesus, the Righteous One, is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, covering us in all our transgressions.

· When dealing with the spirit of perfection, you are dealing with Pride, Vanity, Ego, Frustration, Criticism, Irritability, Intolerance, Anger, Impatience, need for approval, need for attention.

· Story of woman dealing with a legalist upbringing struggling with rebellion and a spirit of Perfection.

· Religious spirits, accusation, perfection, they all destroy from within and carry forward to damage the relationships you have with those around you. This works to isolate you and pull you away from God. It’s a common and basic tactic the enemy uses to pull us down and pull us apart.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are following behind our last episode where we discussed the Spiritual Gift of Tongues, with today’s episode of the Spiritual Gift of Interpretation of Tongues. This gift is rarely discussed except to challenge it’s authenticity, so today we are going to address why it is often challenged, explain exactly what it is and what it is not. Then I will share some of my experiences with this gift, Interpretation of Tongues.

Discussing the Gift of Interpretation of Tongues

· Interpretation of Tongues is not the same as translation of Tongues.

· Daniel 5, where Daniel interpreted the words of God to Belshazzar

· When the Lord has a message and He wants it to be known, He will provide someone to give the interpretation, to speak on His behalf, His words, when He wants them spoken.

· The gift of interpretation, on the other hand, requires the gift of tongues in order to be operational. The gift of tongues can stand on its own as a gift. The gift of interpretation cannot.

· Of all the gifts of the Spirit, Interpretation of Tongues is actually the least of the gifts

· 1 Corinthians 14:13

· If we pray in tongues, it should be natural that we are also interpreting

· 1 Corinthians 14:18

· With interpretation, there is no work, only obedience and a focus on the Lord

· There are 2 times when it is needed. The first is always, whenever the Lord calls for it. Second is when he wants to build up His people

· Where is interpretation not required. People who pray in tongues quietly to themselves, in a whisper tone, that does not need to be interpreted. The intent is not to benefit the group in that moment.

· Why is there such confusion over how many can pray and how does this get misapplied? The confusion is that people are reading scripture literally and saying no more than 3 people can pray in tongues at a time, even in a whisper. That’s not what Paul was discussing in 1 Corinthians 14:26

· God does not function in chaos, so if a meeting is chaotic, then it is not moving under the power and influence of the Holy Spirit. When things are not in order, man has allowed himself to influence and control the meeting

· Discussed reasons this gift is challenged today

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our discussion of the spiritual gifts and this episode is specifically devoted to the gift of Tongues. This is a widely misunderstood, ridiculed and can really bring out some “unChristlike” behavior within the “church”. Today we will discuss the three different types of tongues, how tongues are intended to be used and get an understanding of what it is and if it is for today.

· Discussing the Gift of Tongues

· When we are speaking of gifts, we are speaking of an action or a behavior that produces an outcome as a result of the Holy Spirit’s supernatural activity provided to us in a gift.

· The Bible reveals to us there are actually three different ways tongues are used and all are through our receipt of tongues as a gift of the Holy Spirit.

· Jesus tells us we will have the gift of tongues in Mark 16, he says specifically in Mark 16:17. These are all points of supernatural activity so tongues is a supernatural activity as well.

· Acts 10:44, Peter at Cornelius’ house and the tongues released by the Holy Spirit

· So this first type of tongue, a miraculous ability to speak a language not previously known, is one aspect of tongues. It is considered a sign and is intended for non-believers to experience and testify to the truth of the words being spoken.

· The second type of tongue is referred to as a private prayer language

· Scriptures: 1 Corinthians 13, 1 Corinthians 14:2, Ephesians 6:18, Jude verse 20

· Think of the second type of tongues as a type of devotion or worship time with the Lord where you as the prayer are also receiving an edification or a building up of your own spirit as a result.

· When asking for or first receiving the gift of tongues, don’t overthink it. Let it flow.

· Our third and final type of tongue is similar to the private prayer language except it is used in corporate, or public settings. 1 Cor 14:26, 1 Cor 14:18

· In a corporate or public setting, Paul was advising them to become more organized and limit the number of people who were speaking out to the church in tongues.

· The second point he was making was that in addition to limiting the number of people speaking, if there is no one to interpret, then the church is not gaining in knowledge, edification, it’s not being built up so there is no point in doing it if that is the case.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are beginning our discussion on the 9 Spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit. With this episode, we are going to lay the groundwork for the 9 spiritual gifts as a whole. We will discuss if these gifts are real and whether or not each these gifts are available for us today.
Top Show Points:

· Discussed the 9 Gifts of the Spirit

· 1 Cor 12:1-11

· When we are speaking of gifts, we are speaking of an action or a behavior that produces an outcome as a result of the Holy Spirit’s supernatural activity provided to us in a gift.

· We have lost our understanding of God and the power of the Holy Spirit

· Church leadership has turned their back on God for centuries. You cannot expect modern Christians to know what most preachers not only won’t preach but outright deny exists. The denial belief has been perpetuated and grown for centuries.

· If you listen to any believer that says the gifts are not for today, you will also see someone who does not have a relationship with the Holy Spirit, that is not guided by the Holy Spirit, that does not engage with the Holy Spirit, nor is he or she a person who hears what the Holy Spirit has to say to them.

· Those who say the gifts are not for today will say anyone functioning in the gifts is a heretic or making it up or has a mental health issue. They believe we don’t need the gifts today. The Bible does not negate the Holy Spirit. The Bible testifies to the Holy Spirit and the Bible testifies to the giving of the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

· We discussed cessationists who believe: the "sign gifts" (such as prophecy) described in the Bible were temporarily granted to the apostles to authenticate the origin and truth of the scriptures, and these gifts had served their purpose and ceased.

· Cessasionists are spreading false doctrine. One of the most well known cessationists is John MacArthur.

· Ask for the gifts.

· One comment I hear is this “if the Holy Spirit wants me to have gifts, He’ll give them to me” Answer: no He won’t. The Holy Spirit is not going to give you a gift you don’t want and that you won’t bother to invest the time with Him to be developed in the use of the gift.

· If you want a gift, you not only have to ask for it, you may have to wait for it.

· We have to look at these gifts from the perspective that the gift is about the gift giver, not the one who has the gift. If we lose focus and make it about the one who has the gift, that house will fall.

I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing one of the ways we are enabled to conquer Unseen and even Seen Enemies and that is because of Heavenly Angels. We are going to look at how angels have been revealed to us through the Bible to understand who they are and their role. I will share a few stories of my experiences with seeing angels working and how it felt to be present during it all. There is a lot of information here and so we are going to do this in 2 episodes so here we go.
As always let’s discuss our Top Show Points:

· Heavenly Angels

· Only 31 % of world’s population is Christian but 70% of the population believe in angels.

· They are superior to humans in strength, intelligence, power and character. They have supernatural abilities and far exceed our level of knowledge, but they are not all knowing, all powerful nor omni present

· They are holy and have always been holy, created by God. Originally there were 3 companies of angels which were each led by an archangel. Two companies remain and are led by archangel Michael or archangel Gabriel.

· The third company of angels are fallen angels and are led by Satan

· Angels are known for their activities of praising, worshipping and carrying out God’s commands. Angels are interested in and many of their activities involve humans and our journey of becoming saved through our belief in Jesus.

· There are 3 types of Angels: Seraphim, Cherubim and Living Creatures

· Genesis 3:24, we see Cherubim at the Garden of Eden

· Genesis 19, Story with Lot and Sodom and Gomorrah

· Exodus 23, providing protection to the Israelites in their journey

· Numbers 22, Balaam and his Donkey

· Isaiah 6, the only place the bible discusses the Seraphim

· Ezekiel 10 and the description we are given of the Cherubim

· My story of the angel who saved my husband when he was choking

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two new devotionals out based on the Loving Conversations Book. One devotional is for women and one is for men.

Welcome back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing anointing. We hear the term, “anointing, but do we fully understand what it is, and do we understand how God is willing to equip us with our own anointing? Have you asked the Lord what anointing He has available to you? Do you know how to apply the anointing in your life?

Top Show Points:

· Discussed anointing

· Definition of anointing: to set apart a person, place, or thing for divine use.

· An example of this is Isaiah 61:1

· In the Old Testament, priests, kings and prophets were who God called for service and were anointed.

· In the New Testament we learn more about the anointing because the Anointed One, Jesus, the Messiah, brings to us a new anointing available to us through the Holy Spirit.

· So “anointing”encompassed more than just a call, but an action involving an “anointing oil” as well.

· The word Messiah comes from a Hebrew word meaning “anointed one”.

· 1 John 2:20 discusses our anointing as a believer

· 1 John 2:27 also discusses the anointing we have from the Holy Spirit

· All anointings are not equal? some people are called to Ministry Anointings (Prophet, Pastor, Teacher, Preacher, Apostle)

· Your anointing and an increase in your anointing is directly tied to your relationship with the Holy Spirit. If you want to see an increase in your anointing, then you need to develop your relationship with Him and in my opinion, you cannot function in an anointing without two-way communication.

· There are several types of anointings. We can see several types in the bible by looking at how God used His people.

· There are functional anointings like healing, intercessory prayer, discipleship.

· Story of Brother Lowell in my church and his anointing

· Understand that an anointing doesn’t always come easy, sometimes there is a cost.

· The Lord will equip us in the anointing that he provides but it will require our time

· When we begin to know, understand, step into our anointing, the enemy loses ground where we step.

· Exodus 40:9 we see that anointing with oil wasn’t just for people, but objects to consecrate them.

· Anointing your house

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two new devotionals out based on the Loving Conversations Book.

· Class coming up 8/2 based on the Loving Conversations book on how to hear God’s Voice, sign up at lovingconversationssalo.com

Top Show Points:

· This is the second part of our discussion on prophecy specifically discussing false prophecy.

· Recap of the gifts of the Spirit Paul discussed in 1 Corinthians 12:7-11

· To review, the 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

· Prophecy is a Spoken gift. Of the three Spoken gifts it is the one that is the strongest in that it can stand on its own. Tongues and interpretation of tongues need each other, so they cannot stand on their own in terms of edifying the church.

· The spiritual gift of prophecy involves three things: edification, exhortation and comfort.

· In my experience, there are two kinds of false prophets, the knowing and the unknowing. We could also call them the intentional and the unintentional or the evil and the ignorant.

· Let’s take a look at what the Bible tells us about false prophets.

o Isaiah 44:24:Jeremiah 14:14: Jeremiah 23:16: Lamentations 2:14: Ezekiel 13:9: , Hosea 11:6: Matthew 7:15: Matthew 24:24: 2 Peter 2:1: 1 John 4:1:

· The Bible is warning against false prophets. If there are false prophets, then there must be “true” prophets as well. You cannot have something be false if there is no true. False cannot exist without truth.

· Someone who is knowingly, intentionally behaving, directing, providing false prophecy is evil. Someone who is unknowingly, unintentionally providing false prophecy is ignorant.

· The Bible tells us to test the spirit to see whether they are from God. You can test them by evaluating their words against scripture. This is why knowing the scripture is so important.

· A false prophet will direct the attention to themselves while giving the appearance they are speaking on behalf of God for you.

· An evil false prophet will usually depict themselves as one who functions in the office of a Prophet. The reason for this is generally pride and greed. One who truly operates in this office will direct the honor and glory to God and acknowledge that God is the source of everything. An evil false prophet will not do that because they ultimately want something for themselves.

· A true prophet is not distinguishable from his or her appearance. There is no flashy behavior or extravagance in their appearance. They stand on truth. A false prophet needs that extra to get attention and create excitement because there is no Holy Spirit excitement.

There is also a Study Guide available and devotionals based on the Loving Conversations Book.

Welcome back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing prophecy. Is the gift of prophecy alive today or dead? Is it true or false? This spiritual gift is one of the most misunderstood Spiritual Gifts and unfortunately one of the most misused, even abused gifts used to deceive the undiscerning.

In order to discuss all of the elements we need to cover; I want to first walk through an understanding of prophecy. Prophecy is one of the nine spiritual gifts Paul refers to in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11. To truly understand it, we need to understand what it is, what it isn’t, who has the gift, what is the gift versus the office, how is the gift to be used and finally the misuse of the gift. That, my friends, is a lot to cover and we will not get through this in one episode, so get comfy and let’s get started understanding this wonderful gift that is still in operation today.

Top Show Points:

· This week we are discussing prophecy.

· Prophecy is one of the nine spiritual gifts Paul refers to in 1 Corinthians 12:1-11.

· 9 Spiritual Gifts are: wisdom, word of knowledge, faith, healings, miraculous powers, prophecy, discerning of spirits, tongues, interpretation of tongues.

· The gifts can be grouped as Power gifts, Revelation gifts and Spoken gifts.

· Of the three Spoken gifts prophecy is the one that is the strongest in that it can stand on its own.

· The spiritual gift of prophecy involves three things: edification, exhortation and comfort.

· Recently someone offered me a “prophetic word” and it was literally one word. This person is retired and presents himself as someone with a prophetic gift

· Those who function in this office have a divine call to do so and they are to do so for the body of Christ. This is not a spiritual gift but an entire office. A person in this role has more than just the spiritual gift but rather it is a ministry gift

· Office, you must also have Revelation gifts. Remember Revelation gifts are wisdom, word of knowledge and discerning of spirits.

· Philips daughters who functioned in the gift of prophecy

· Agabus, a prophet, using foretelling with Paul

· Difference between foretelling and forthtelling

· Discussed how to gracefully not accept a prophetic word given to you

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two new devotionals coming out based on the Loving Conversations Book. One devotional is for women and one is for men.

Welcome back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing how to overcome our weaknesses and temptations. We are going to talk about our position in the Lord and go through some examples of how the Lord will respond in our weaknesses on our behalf.

As always, let’s recap the Top Show Points:

· Not all weaknesses are the works of satan. Not all temptations are a source of the demonic. There are also times when our weaknesses are opened up, through it God will encourage us and build us up. We don’t always assume that everything that hits our weakness is from the enemy.

· The definition of weakness is the state or condition of lacking strength.

· The definition of temptation is the desire to do something, especially something wrong or unwise.

· We are not defined by our weaknesses. We are more defined by our response in the moment of weakness and how we respond and react based on what we believe.

· Our discussion here isn’t about the specific demon but rather the process behind how they work and how we need to respond. Our response is what defines our beliefs.

· There are times when we will be tempted in areas that aren’t actually our weakness, but the enemy thinks we can be swayed to make the wrong choice because of our circumstances.

· The story of Pumpkin and her triumphant return

· The courts use the term “standing.” Standing limits or allows participation in lawsuits by asking whether the person(s) bringing a lawsuit, or defending one, has enough cause to “stand” before the court and advocate

· As a believer, our “standing” is in the Lord. Our ability to “stand” before the Lord and contend for someone or something in our prayers is given to us by our accepting Jesus as our savior.

· Our “standing” is our truth, don’t let your emotions dictate our responses

· Demons are witnesses to our lives in the same way as angels. They know our history and our weaknesses.

· 1 Peter 5:8, gave example of 5 coyotes circling me while I was walking my dogs

Demons attack us in our wilderness, example of the coyotes trying to distract me with the one coyote in front so the others could come snatch Blackie from behind

· Jesus withstood temptations from satan in the wilderness, Matthew 4

· Acts 17:28

· “Standing” gives us confidence to face anything coming at us

· Romans 8:31

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two new devotionals coming out based on the Loving Conversations Book. One devotional is for women and one is for men.

Welcome Back!! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the demons of Distraction. These demons use multiple strategies and are so subtle we don't notice it until we are already distracted and sometimes even forget what we were originally doing. First we will discuss what the demon of distraction is, then we will look at some biblical examples of distraction and discuss examples of this demon at work this past week and in a deliverance. Finally we will talk about what we need to do to overcome this influence and evict it from our lives.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

Discussed the demons of Distraction

These demons use multiple strategies and are subtle

Demon of Distraction doesn't want you to know about him because that would defeat the purpose of his work. If he is doing his job correctly, you won't be able to follow through on understanding who he is because he can keep you focused elsewhere.

This demon will frequently be seen working together with the demons of frustration, forgetfulness, confusion, indifference, procrastination, and restlessness

Example of Eve getting distracted in the Garden of Eden and the costs of that distraction to her immediately and forevermore.

Example of Samson and his momentary distraction and giving in to Delilah and the painful immediate cost to him and ultimately led to his destruction.

Example of David and his distraction by Bathsheba and the loss of innocent life and the impact to the Kingdom.

Example of distractions in a prayer meeting at my own church

Example of demon trying to distract me during a deliverance

Do not let your feelings override our actions and distract us

We talked about how to document our activities and the distractions so we can see patterns of distractions and decide how to correct it

Use Jesus as an example of how to focus on alone time with the Lord

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· If you want to learn more about how to Hear God's Voice, take a look at my book, Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. There is also a Study Guide available and two new devotionals coming out based on the Loving Conversations Book. One devotional is for women and one is for men.

Welcome back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing disbelief and disillusionment. We are going to talk about where it is rooted. Unlike other episodes we aren’t going to be talking about how satan is the root of disbelief and disillusionment but rather how these are created though manmade ideas and misconceptions.

We have the greatest ability to be our own unseen enemy and as much as we need to conquer satan, we need to conquer the pieces of ourselves that allow disobedience, disbelief, disillusionment, indifference, distrust, selfishness to grow.

Go read John 4 and ask yourself, are you going to be like the Samaritan woman or are you going to just get your water and go home.

I hope this has been helpful to you. If you know anyone who would benefit from this podcast, please share.

I have looked forward to our time this week, don’t forget to do your lists and then act on them and evict any disbelief and disillusionment you have allowed to enter your life that is contrary to God’s word.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the New Age religion. We are going to examine the common beliefs and reveal where it counterfeits Christianity. I want you to understand how it misleads people and could easily permeate into the Christian belief system if we do not recognize it. We will see where the root of this religion was first established and identify scriptures of truth that contradict New Age beliefs.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· New Age it is a melting pot of a number of beliefs and practices that include occultism, mysticism, pantheism, reincarnation, holism, Hinduism, and gained popularity in the 70's and 80's. The root of New Age, dates back to ancient times

· With New Age, there is no one set of beliefs or practices, they actually vary

· New Age does not believe in the concept of good and evil. There is no fall from grace or sin, but rather man has fallen into ignorance. They believe there is a gradual ascent into enlightenment

· Enlightenment is defined differently among those who practice this, but it essentially involves gaining your enlightenment through spiritual means and involves the use of mediums or psychics who help you navigate your spiritual path. This process also includes speaking to dead loved ones, as you develop in your spiritualness for enlightenment, you will enlighten yourself on your own terms, so there is no standard

· They believe there is a third eye that will guide you through the spirit world. Whatever name you want to call it, it's all demonic. Other activities for enlightenment would include seances, yoga, mediations, crystals, out of body travel, and some ridiculous stories of extraterrestrial beings. Again, those are called demons.

· There is a level which is called, "cosmically enlightened" wherein they believe they are attuned to their cosmic consciousness. If one reaches this level then they are considered to be "born again,"

· belief that they are individual gods

· New Age does not believe in right or wrong and the belief they have behind that is they believe they can create their own reality

· a new world order coming, a new world government where there will be a progressive unification of world consciousness.

· there are many ways to heaven and that ultimately all religions point to us to heaven. In that belief, Jesus is not a savior he is just a good teacher that reached "Christ consciousness

· God is not the Creator because the Creator is an unknowable force that was created mysteriously from source energy or vibration.

· Genesis 3, where satan deceived eve into thinking she could become a god

· Reincarnation

· John 14:6, John 6:38, John 1:14, Acts 4:12

· Don't let false doctrines interfere with our relationship with the Lord in any way.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the blood of Jesus and I mean specifically understanding why we plead the blood of Jesus. This is considered unbiblical by some because they accuse Christians of using the blood of Jesus like a slot machine and because they don’t understand the significance God gave the blood from the beginning. So we are going to address this and talk about how we should be using it because it is very clear in the scripture the importance and significance of the blood from the beginning to the end of times which we will see in the Book of Revelation. Alright. Let’s get going.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· We are discussing pleading the blood of Jesus and why we do it

· Jesus has redeemed us, He has justified us, He is our Interecessor, Isaiah 53 tells us this , In John, Jesus tells us that no one comes to the Father except through me. Jesus sanctified us, we can all agree or should all be able to agree on those areas as an understanding of Christianity.

· Passover, in Exodus 12 we read about the Passover, and how God used the blood of a Lamb over doorposts to provide life for the Israelites

· Leviticus 17 and how the priests were to use sacrificial blood

· Isaiah 53

· John 6 and what Jesus told us about communion and his blood and his flesh and what it represented for us as eternal life in Him.

· Revelation 12:11, the Blood of the Lamb is how we overcome satan in the end times

· The blood offers us life, the blood is life, the blood has power and the authority of Jesus and it is how, in the end, we overcome satan.

· The story of my son and how I pled the blood of Jesus over his life

· Make sure our prayer is in alignment with the Lord

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome back!  I am your host Dawn Simmons and this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies is a little different format.  We are going to be talking about “deniers”.  I’ll explain what I mean by that in a minute.  First let me give you a little background on how these shows come together so you understand why we are talking about this today which is Easter or Resurrection Day, or this week, which I would say is Resurrection Week.  Then we are also going to talk about the Garden Tomb where Jesus was laid after the crucifixion.  I was just there and want to share a bit about my experience there.

Thank you guys for listening and for all the emails.  I appreciate it.  We are not following our regular format today, so I am going to end here.

Have a great week, remember Him and speak the Truth.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing counterfeits to the Holy Spirit. We are going to discuss this in a broad sense because there are so many elements, but you will have a strong understanding of how Satan counterfeits and leads believers astray if they are not able to discern Truth from Lies.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· Counterfeits to the Holy Spirit

· The definition: A counterfeit is something made in exact imitation of something valuable or important with the intention to deceive or defraud.

· The number of ways Satan counterfeits the Holy Spirit is seemingly endless because the way the Holy Spirit works in our lives is endless.

· Satan’s goal is to counterfeit the Truth so it can be watered down and twisted.

· Paul was continually dealing with counterfeits in his ministry. Here is what he says to the Romans, this is Romans 1:18-27

· 2 Corinthians 11: 1-15, Paul dealing with Super apostles in Corinth. This antichrist behavior is a part of our culture today and that is among believers as well.

· Modern day “super apostles” and it is our responsibility as believers to discern truth from lies. We will be held accountable for what we believe, what we say, how we influence others and the way we lived our lives for the kingdom or not.

· To make sure you are not putting yourself in a position to follow a counterfeit to the Holy Spirit, we need to be able to discern the Holy Spirit from Satan. We need to be able to open our Bible and read it for ourselves, consistently. Develop that discernment.

· We need to know Jesus so well, we could never mistake one for the other.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing 4 ways the enemy works to manipulate us in our day to day lives. Often times the topics we discuss seem separate and apart from our day to day lives because of the severity of what we discuss. There are other tactics the enemy uses that are subtle, like a slow burn. We may miss these tactics as we go about our daily tasks. These are very common issues that we need to be aware of, so we stop these tactics immediately.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be concluding our series. We have already discussed what is a curse and what is a blessing. We reviewed Deuteronomy 28 discussing obedience and disobedience relating to blessings and curses. This is part 7 of our series "Understanding Blessings and Curses" and today we will talk about how to break curses and usher in blessings that are being blocked by curses.

Top Show Points:

· This is part 7 of our series "Understanding Blessings and Curses" and today we will talk about how to break curses and usher in blessings that are being blocked by curses.

· A curse is defined as: a solemn utterance intended to involve a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something.

· The definition of a blessing is: God's favor and protection

· There are 2 things we are going to discuss today, the why and the how. Without the "Why", there is no "How".

· As believers, and this is only for those who are believers, have the ability to break a curse.

· Everything, everything we need for this is rooted in the cross. For a curse to have a legal right, a rebellion, disobedience or a turning from God's ways has happened.

· There is an exchange we participate in as we turn back to God, place Him as our priority and enter into Obedience

· Matthew 8:16-17, 1 Peter 2:21-24, Isaiah 53: 10,

· Jesus fulfilled the law, and that is why, we are able to break or be released from curses.

· The 6 steps to breaking a curse:

  1. Acknowledge Jesus as our savior.

  2. Repent.

  3. Acknowledge our forgiveness and address any unforgiveness.

4. Clean house.

5. Renounce any Satanic or Occult practices.

  1. Pray.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be continuing our discussion on Blessings. We have already discussed what is a curse and what is a blessing. We reviewed Deuteronomy 28 discussing obedience and disobedience relating to blessings and curses, we discussed events or occurrences that suggest or reveal a curse may be operating in our lives.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· Continuing our discussion on Blessings and Curses, this week focused on Blessing

· The definition of a blessing is: God's favor and protection.

· Deuteronomy 28: 1-15: God's conditional: If you fully obey the Lord your God and carefully follow all his commands I give you today, the Lord your God will set you high above all the nations on earth. 2 All these blessings will come on you and accompany you if you obey the Lord your God:

· Deuteronomy Chapter 30

· when you and your children return to the Lord your God and obey him with all your heart and with all your soul according to everything I command you today, (Matthew 22:27, the Greatest Commandment) 3 then the Lord your God will restore your fortunes[a

· "Obey". What is God asking of us? It's almost so simple it's unbelievable. Love the Lord, obey His commands – now His commands are those things designed to keep us out of trouble, to keep us aligned with Him

· Commands begin in Deuteronomy 4-28

· Jesus was the fulfillment of the commands

· People struggle to Obey not fully understanding what it truly means to Obey

· Discussed Loving Conversations: How to Pray and Hear God's Voice. SALO process

Next week discussing how to break curses and move in to Blessings.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, we just dropped a video from our Turkey travels on our YouTube Channel. It is on Ephesus, the 7thof the 7 churches of the book of Revelation series. Check it out!

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be continuing and completing our discussion on behaviors and activities we do that result in Curses having a legal right to operate in our lives. We have already discussed what is a curse and what is a blessing. We reviewed Deuteronomy 28 discussing obedience and disobedience relating to blessings and curses, we discussed events or occurrences that suggest or reveal a curse may be operating in our lives. This is the second part of last week's episode in our series "Understanding Blessings and Curses" and before this series ends, you will know how to break curses and usher in blessings that are being blocked by curses.
As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· Discussing behaviors and activities we do that result in Curses having a legal right to operate in our lives

· A curse is defined as: a solemn utterance intended to involve a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something.

· Deuteronomy 28 verses 15-68 reveal the Curses for Disobedience

· If there is a curse in effect, it has a legal right to operate. Our job is to find out why, and eradicate or break that legal right

· Areas we discussed last week were:

o Self Imposed Curses by our words or actions

o God alone has absolute authority. When we participate in activities overtly or secretly that are an act of rebellion against an authority that we are subject to, we are opening a door. Matthew 28:18

o Illegal activities

o Legalism, apostasy (turning our back and renouncing God) carnality

o Genesis 12:3, Antisemitism, God will bless those who bless His people and curse those who curse His people.

o Exodus 20, 1st and 2nd Commandments

· The overall area we are discussing here is witchcraft and witchcraft related activities.

· Clearly the participation in any activity that is satanic in nature puts us in operation with satan and will produce a curse in our lives.

· Christians who slander, gossip, speak with malice in their heart of other Christians.

· Gave you the story of Jane and Wic

· Someone who prays but what they are praying for is contrary to God's word

· All of these behaviors and activities are within our control.

· We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing Curses, specifically events or occurrences that suggest a curse is operating in our lives. We will talk about some real-life examples of people dealing with curses or at least suggest a curse is present over their circumstances. This is the second part of our series "Understanding Blessings and Curses" and before this series ends, you will know how to break curses and usher in blessings that are being blocked by curses.
Top Show Points:

· Defined curse: a solemn utterance intended to involve a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something.

· Deuteronomy 28 verses 15-68 reveal the Curses for Disobedience

· Not every bad thing is from the enemy.

· disobedience will result in loss of income and assets.

· Example of couple cursed in finances due to disobedience

· Chronic illness

· chronic illness is very real and valid, but this is still one of the areas God tells us will reveal a curse or a plague as the Bible describes

· If generationally you see a lot of disease. Of the areas we are addressing in this discussion, I want to see multiple areas affected

· mental health issues

· God does not create confusion, the enemy does

· Suicide and premature deaths, whether natural or unexpected. This is considered separate and apart from the previous mental health issues because it is a curse of death, it's final once it is carried out.

· If a family has multiple of these types of deaths, a curse is active. This can go back multiple generations, and this can be broken.

· the issue of breakdown of the family relationships and marriages

· 5th area to discuss are areas relating to childbearing or female issues

· Look at all of these issues we are discussing as a whole. Ultimately, ask the Lord and if it is a curse, then keep listening and let's get it broken off of you

· Clumsiness

· Gave example of my son's misshaps

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are starting our series on Understanding Blessings and Curses. We have set the stage for this discussion by first examining why our words matter, we then talked about the spirit of rebellion and last week we touched on the seven spirits of God that we have in the Holy Spirit. All of these are components to Blessings and Curses. First we will understand what a blessing and a curse are, then we will see in the Old Testament and the New Testament how God has used both for His purposes and finally we will talk about some real life examples of blessings and curses. Next week we will start digging more into a discussion on Curses. I wanted to start with Curses first so we can end on a positive note with Blessings. Either way before this series ends, you will know how to break curses and usher in blessings that are being blocked. Ok, are you ready? There’s a lot to get through so let’s get going.

Ok so as always let's recap the Top Show Points:

· We are starting our series on Curses and Blessings

· A curse is defined as: a solemn utterance intended to invoke a supernatural power to inflict harm or punishment on someone or something.

· We discussed Adam and Eve and the first curse

· 2 Corinthians 4:18, fixing our eyes on what is unseen and eternal.

· Exodus 19:5, God’s covenant

· A blessing is the act or words of one that blesses or a thing conducive to happiness or welfare.

· Deuteronomy 28: 1-14 are the Blessings for Obedience

· Deuteronomy 28: 15-68 are the Curses for Disobedience

· God is a just God who renders judgment, curses are a part of that judgment

· John 15: 5-7, verses discussing Curses and Blessings still apply in New Testament

· Gave you a story about Pat who resigned herself to her curse

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be talking about the 7 spirits of God. If we truly want to Conquer Our Unseen Enemies and live the full life that Jesus describes in John 10:10, then we should know about these 7 spirits discussed in the Book of Revelation. We will identify these 7 Spirits, understand how they relate to the Holy Spirit and ultimately how we apply this to our lives.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· The 7 spirits of God.

· Book of Revelation is full of imagery and should not intimidate us or create fear

· Book of Revelation starts out with John, the Disciple John, identifying himself as the author

· Book of Revelation: Chapter 1 verse 4 gives us our first mention of the 7 spirits

· Book of Revelation: Chapter 5, verse 6, The Lamb had seven horns and seven eyes, which are the seven spirits[a] of God

· Isaiah 11 lists out the 7 Spirits:

· The Spirit of the LORD
2) The Spirit of wisdom
3) The Spirit of understanding
4) The Spirit of counsel
5) The Spirit of power
6) The Spirit of knowledge
7) The Spirit of the fear of the Lord

· These 7 spirits combined make up the Holy Spirit we have access to daily

· We talked about paying attention to people around you and listening to their words and evaluate ourselves in how we are handling life circumstances against the list of the 7 characteristics of the Holy Spirit

· Challenged you to fast from our own decisions and feast on leaning into the Holy Spirit in all areas of our life.

· Document the week so you can reflect on it and see the change in your life.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are discussing the Spirit of Rebellion. This is one of the worst spirits to deal with so we need to recognize it early to prevent and remove its influence in our life. To start, we will identify what rebellion is and understand how the spirit of rebellion functions and who typically you will see associated with the spirit of rebellion. Then we will identify the characteristics of a rebellious spirit. We will dig deeper to see how rebellion shapes our heart and look at rebellion from God’s perspective. I will share some real-life examples of people dealing with rebellion. Lastly, we will talk about 4 steps to evict the Spirit of Rebellion in your life.

As always let’s recap Top Show Points:

· The spirit of Rebellion is the strongman and often accompanying rebellion you will see the spirit of stubbornness, the spirit of self will, disobedience, the spirit of disrespect, and anti-submissiveness, the spirit of an anti-socialist. Most importantly, Rebellion is the spirit of the Anti-Christ. It is a complete illustration of Satan and his disobedience and disrespect for authority. God is the supreme authority.

· Let’s talk about the Characteristics of a rebellious spirit:

o Argumentative

o Undisciplined

o Unteachable

o Stubborn

o Apathetic

· God’s perspective on rebellion

o 2 Thessalonians 2:3

o Hebrews 13:8

· Story of the couple with the rebellious husband and discussed how God provides and is just

· Story of the Rebellious young pastor

· There are 4 steps we want to take to evict the enemy if we feel we have rebellion in our heart or are being tempted to rebel:

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to start preparing for our series entitled "Understanding Curses and Blessings to change our Life" by discussing a few things ahead of time. So our discussion today is centering around our words and how the words we choose to use matter in the outcomes of our life. We will be examining some often-used phrases and break them down to understand what they could mean to our lives in the spirit realm. Our lives don't just exist in the natural, we are affected one way or the other by what is happening around us in the spirit realm. We can shift our outcomes by choosing words inspired by the Holy Spirit or words inspired by the enemy. It's our choice.
Top Show Points:

· Discussing our words and how the words we choose to use matter in the outcomes of our life.

· Our lives don't just exist in the natural, we are affected one way or the other by what is happening around us in the spirit realm. We can shift our outcomes by choosing words inspired by the Holy Spirit or words inspired by the enemy. It's our choice.

· Proverbs 18:21, "The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit."

· James 3:9-12, Discussing how "Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing." And that this should not be

· Identified Phrases we use regularly in everyday speech that bring death, not life

· How we use our words matter. James 3:5, talks about how our little tongue can spark a huge fire.

· Matthew 12:36-37, "But I tell you that everyone will have to give account on the day of judgment for every empty word they have spoken. 37 For by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words you will be condemned.”

· We need to address this issue because what we speak does affect us in the spirit realm and the enemy has the ability to obtain legal rights over us by our words. Likewise, when we use our words of life, we can direct angels to work on our behalf

· Example at Jericho of power of words

· Example from my situation with my son and having to rebuke someone and how and why we need to do it with others.

· Example of Jesus rebuking Peter

· Proverbs 21:23

· Proverbs 12:18

· Broke down common phrases we should not be saying

· Challenge to pay attention to words used and make sure you are using the words you really mean to use

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, we just dropped a video from our Turkey travels on our YouTube Channel. Check it out!

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this first episode of our second season of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies in 2023, we are going to set ourselves up for our biggest, our best, our deepest relationship in the Lord that you have ever had.

We have covered a lot of territory in 2022. We have talked about a lot of demons, which we will continue to do in 2023. We have talked about how demons work, we have met several people along the way and heard their stories. I’ve shared a lot of my own stories, but really, guys we are just beginning.

Ok, so what do we need to have in place today to move forward and develop our relationship? This is essentially our Top Show Points.

  1. Understand what Paul is saying in Ephesians 4:4-6. Take that scripture and pray on that this week if it will help you to focus on who God is in our lives, who Jesus is in our lives and who the Holy Spirit is in our lives.

  2. Find 15 minutes a day for reading the Bible. Start reading and stay consistent. If you can do more, great, but at least start with the 15 minutes.

  3. Find 15 minutes a day for prayer time, alone time with the Lord. Just sharing your heart and spending quality time with Him.

  4. Commit to listening to this podcast because we are building our relationship with the Lord to be bigger and better and deeper than it has ever been before. Reminds me of that old song, deep and wide. I think I sang it in Sunday school as a kid. That’s the attitude we need to have right now, like a kid coming to the Lord to build our deep and wide. Anyhow, we will cover a variety of topics intended to develop discernment, gain knowledge in the Spirit Realm and know without a doubt when the Lord is speaking to you versus your own voice.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment.

Also, we just dropped a video from our Turkey travels on our YouTube Channel where we are doing a series on the 7 churches Jesus sends a message to in the Book of Revelation. Check it out!

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are finishing our 7-part series this week as we close out 2022. We started the series discussing the Spirit of Bitterness, we've also talked about the Spirit of Strife, the Spirit of Impatience and the Spirit of Accusation, the Spirit of Insecurity and last week was the Spirit of Cursing. For our final week we are going to be discussing the Spirit of Worry. This is a demonic spirit who frequently hangs in the background until it can permeate our lives day and night. The series focused on 7 demons common in our lives and we addressed them openly and focused on understanding them and evicting them as we end 2022. The plan was to enable us to start 2023 with a new heart for the Lord, and the plan got even better as the Lord shared what He wanted for our focus. This week we will discuss the last demon in the series, worry. Next week we will have a wonderful new beginning as we enter into 2023.

· A few weeks ago I sat down to hear from the Lord on specifically what content He wanted included, it became clear He wanted me to address the marriage between Him and His church. I shared what He wanted me to share with you.

· The Spirit of Worry is a strongman and a quiet spirit. It wants to work in the background to eat away at us slowly before we realize it has a foothold.

· Often with the Spirit of Worry you will find the Spirit of Fear, the Spirit of Anxiety, Dread and the Spirit of Apprehension. They all work well together to paralyze us and keep us from hearing from the Lord.

· Indications that you are experiencing demonization or the beginnings of demonization which is the influence of the spirit of worry.

o Unable to sleep:

o Unable to eat:

o Unable to make decisions or process thoughts logically:

o Unable to control emotions:

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our focus on our 7-part series for the next 2 weeks including this week, which is the remainder of 2022. This week we are going to be discussing the spirit of Cursing.
Top Show Points:

· We are continuing our focus on our 7-part series for the next 2 weeks, which is the remainder of 2022. We started the series discussing the Spirit of Bitterness, then the Spirit of Strife, Impatience, Accusation and Insecurity. This week we discussed the spirit of Cursing.

· The Spirit of Cursing is a strongman and a very loud spirit. Words are their weapon and they use them very well to illicit pain. The Spirit of Cursing is very controlling. It uses fear tactics, manipulation and plays on weakness to illicit the outcome it is seeking.

· This Spirit of Cursing is a master at using words, words as a sharp blade, a weapon to tear apart everyone.

· Used scriptures: Proverbs 12:18, Proverbs 18:21

· Proverbs 26: 18-19, gave you the story of Linda who didn't like me very much or my dresses apparently

· We need to be firm where firm is called for and dismiss those things that are not really aimed at us.

· Gave example of Jerk who placed a curse of death over my husband in Istanbul and that was an example of being firm and we talked about when to be firm.

· We talked about how to handle a person coming at you with these demon tactics when it's a family member of a coworker

  1. Ask the Lord to reveal the truth in the situation. We want to bring the dark to the light.

  2. Ask the Lord if there is anything that you have done that has allowed the enemy to work in your life.

a. Repent and ask for forgiveness if the Lord reveals anything to you

b. Rebuke the enemy and use your scriptures

c. Pray quietly whenever you are in the presence of the person with which you are having the issue

  1. Set aside time each day with your scriptures to pray and seek wisdom for how to proceed if this is ongoing until the Lord guides you to resolution

§ Document prayers and answered

· We talked about Jesus and how he was firm when dealing with the Spirit of Cursing coming at him through the Pharisees and the Sadducees.

· Matthew 12:36

· The Spirit of Insecurity is a strongman demon. You will likely see the demon or also referred to as the Spirit of Inferiority, self-pity, the spirit of loneliness, timidity, the spirit of shyness, inadequacy and the spirit of ineptness working together with Insecurity.

· We don't ever want to live our lives thinking there is a demon around every corner or that demons are responsible for every bad thing in our life or give excuses for our behavior that a demon is responsible and not us.

· Example of people out there claiming to be Christian and saying things like this that lead others astray.

· John 14:6 "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me."

· Importance of an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and is required for the gift of spiritual discernment." Jesus always responded to satan with the correct use of scripture and so should we.

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our focus on our 7-part series. This week we are going to be discussing the spirit of Accusation. This is a big one guys, and I know there are people out there struggling with this and don't even realize it's a demonic spirit that is demonizing them. On week 8, we will have a wonderful new beginning as we enter into 2023.
Top Show Points:

· Accusation is a Spirit of the antichrist; it is a very powerful demonic spirit. Typically, you will find the Spirit of Judgment, the Spirit of Criticism and the Spirit of Faultfinding associated with Accusation. There are frequently Religious spirits that will worm their way in to create conflicts.

· The Spirit of Accusation is such a powerful Spirit.

o First, one of the names the Bible uses to describe and name Satan is our Accuser. One place we find this is Revelation 12:10

o Second, we need to understand that the Spirit of Accusation is a legalistic spirit. What does that mean exactly? Well, a legalistic spirit wants to look for the wrong in others to then present judgment or condemnation. The Spirit of Accusation will often use guilt or shame to get to us and bring us down.

· The Spirit of Accusation will bring up our past sins, our old life and failures to bring us to a place of condemnation. The reason the Spirit wants to do this is to convince us that our past sins remain, and cause us to doubt that our sins have already been forgiven by the blood of Jesus.

· Christians get confused is understanding the difference between condemnation from the Accuser and conviction from the Holy Spirit.

o Condemnation places our sin burden back on us. Condemnation tells us we have to do something to earn our forgiveness, works to make amends. It heavily uses guilt and shame to tear us down and manipulate us to believe we are not worthy.

o The Holy Spirit works entirely different in us. The Holy Spirit uses conviction in our hearts to lead us from our sinful life, no matter how big or small, to Him. He uses His right and true ways to lead us to repentance and back in relationship with him. He does not accuse, that is not His way. He encourages and uses His loving ways to guide us on the right path. 2 Timothy 3:16

· Additional scriptures we referenced: Proverbs 3:6, Proverbs 24:3

· Jesus gives us a description of the Accuser, satan, in John 8:44

· 6 Steps to Evict the Accuser

o Acknowledge it: Identify if what you are feeling is condemnation or conviction.

o Understand it: Identify condemnation tactics and why used? Have they worked in the past?

o Accept Conviction and correction:

o Repent: Break ties, Rebuke the enemy and prepare for the enemy to come back and attempt to demonize you again.

o Seek Forgiveness: Release it to the Lord:

o Replace it: We want to ask the Lord to reveal the truth in all situations. Invite the Holy Spirit into the situation. If we are going to evict the enemy and his influence, we need to replace accusation and fill ourselves with what the Holy Spirit provides. John 15:26 and John 16:13

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are continuing our focus on our 7-part series for the next 5 weeks, which is the remainder of 2022. We started the series discussing the Spirit of Bitterness, the Spirit of Strife. This week we are discussing the spirit of Impatience. With 4 weeks left, the 4 demons we will be addressing in the next 5 weeks are: Insecurity, Worry, Accusation and Cursing. Then we will have a new beginning as we enter into 2023.
Top Show Points:

· We are continuing our focus on our 7-part series for the next 5 weeks, We started the series discussing the Spirit of Bitterness, then the Spirit of Strife. This week we are going to be discussing the spirit of Impatience.

· A few weeks ago I sat down to hear from the Lord on specifically what content He wanted included, it became clear He wanted me to address the marriage between Him and His church. I shared what He wanted me to share with you.

· The Spirit of Impatience will generally be the Strongman and will often be accompanied by the Spirit of Agitation, The Spirit of Frustration, the Spirit of Intolerance, the Spirit of Resentment, the Spirit of Criticism.

· The Spirit of Impatience can demonize someone who is patient, so we need to understand both so we can identify when the Spirit of Impatience has made an appearance and is attempting to influence us and tempt us into actions that manifest demonization.

· Let's see what the Bible tells us about Impatience and how will you know if you are just impatient versus being influenced by the Spirit of Impatience. When we want to understand how the Lord sees impatience, we want to look for what the Bible says regarding patience, the virtues associated with what direction His truth guides us. Galatians 5:22, Ephesians 4:2, Psalm 37:7, Proverbs 14:29, Proverbs 15:18, Proverbs 16:32, Romans 8:25, Romans 12:12, 1 Corinthians 13:4, Hebrews 6:15, 2 Peter 3:9,

· So how can you tell the difference between just patience as an area we need to build up in our character or demonization? We are going to use the scripture as our guide.

· In all cases, based on Galatians 5:22, we know that it is an area we need to build up in our character.

· When our impatience is bringing in other sin areas, we can start to get an idea there is a demon influencing us. Asked several questions to flush out.

· 5 steps to begin to change our Impatience:

o Acknowledge it:

o Understand it:

o Address it:

o Release it to the Lord:

o Replace it:

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be doing something different and it will be our focus for the next 7 weeks, which is the remainder of 2022. We are starting a series which discusses 7 demons, one each week, that show up so frequently in our lives that I wanted to address them head on and really focus on understanding them and evicting them as we end out our year. The plan was to enable us to start the 2023 with a new heart for the Lord, but the plan got so much better which I will share in a moment. First, let me tell you the 7 demons we will be addressing in the series are: Bitterness, Insecurity, Impatience, Worry, Strife, Accusation and Cursing, not necessarily in that order but that is the 7. Then on week 8, we will have a new beginning for 2023.

Top Show Points:

We are starting a series which discusses 7 demons, one each week, that show up so frequently in our lives. It will be our focus for the next 7 weeks, which is the remainder of 2022 and focus on understanding and evicting these demons as we end out our year.

The 7 demons we will be addressing in the series are: Bitterness, Insecurity, Impatience, Worry, Strife, Accusation and Cursing, not necessarily in that order but that is the 7. Then on week 8, we will have a new beginning for 2023.

We discussed a word the Lord gave me to share with you about what He wants from us in the next 7 weeks

The Spirit of Bitterness is frequently a strongman. It typically develops early in us as a result of an experience where we feel we have been wronged, cheated or betrayed.

Typically, with the Spirit of Bitterness you will find the companions of resentment, hatred, temper, anger, retaliation, unforgiveness and all of these can then escalate to violence and unfortunately in extreme cases murder.

Discussed what the Bible tells us about the spirit of bitterness. We used several scriptures to identify what it is saying about us, our hearts, our minds, and where it tells us it is going to take us.

Well first, we need to acknowledge it. If we have a spirit of bitterness, don’t hide it, it will find it’s way out. It will be apparent in our words, attitudes, behaviors, it will not be silent. Address it head on and understand the reasons behind why the spirit of bitterness was able to creep into your heart.

So secondly, we need to be willing to release it to the Lord. We have to let go of any bitterness, resentment, all of those demonic influences.

The third step we want to make in this process is incredibly important. Anytime we evict demonic influences, we need to go back and fill that void with what we receive from the Lord. Paul tells it to us this way: Ephesians 4:31-32, Forgiveness.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community. Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing how to use praise as an act of spiritual warfare. This one act is so simple, you won't even consider it as warfare. The beauty of it is that praise can be both a defensive and offensive weapon. In the midst of it you will begin to feel rejuvenated and strengthened. I say this, but not everyone will feel this way, and some will even shy away and pull back. I used to be one of those people.

Ok so as always let's recap the Top Show Points:

· Discussed how to use praise as an act of spiritual warfare. This one act is so simple, you won't even consider it as warfare. The beauty of it is that praise can be both a defensive and offensive weapon.

· The enemy hates praise? So the sooner we can develop it into our daily lives, the more we are sharpening our weapons and getting the enemy to not want to be around us.

· Praise is coming from our heart to the Lord. It is a heartfelt way to show love, respect, thankfulness, showing and sharing with the Lord our devotion to him.

· Worship will take praise and put it to song, put it to dance, put it into action in a way that shows a surrender to the Lord. Worship provides us the opportunity to invite the Holy Spirit into our lives at that very moment

· David is probably the most famous for combining his praise of the Lord with worship. He was a musician, so it was natural for him. David wrote half of the book of Psalms,

· Psalms 138: You can hear the praise in these words and feel his heart. Now imagine these words put to song with music.

· The Praise Psalm. It's Psalm 148. if it means something to you and it is scripture and it is praise that is a trifecta weapon against the enemy. Use it!!

John 11:35, Jesus wept.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community.

I enjoyed our time together and I look forward to it again next week. Have a great week!

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing the spirit of Jealousy. We are going to be identifying the characteristics of the spirit of jealousy. We will go over some real-life examples of people dealing with someone acting with a spirit of jealousy and laying out how to evict this influence in your life whether you have a spirit of jealousy or are dealing with someone who has a spirit of jealousy.

Ok so as always let's recap the Top Show Points:

· Jealousy is an ugly, ugly emotion that begins at the beginning. Satan's pride created a spirit of jealousy of all that God has and is, and as a result God threw him out of Heaven.

· Genesis 4 we see the first murder committed out of jealousy. In Genesis 4:7 we see God warning Cain, but Cain could not do what is right and out of a spirit of jealousy, he murdered his brother Abel.

· Jealousy is the 10th Commandment given to us by God. Exodus 10:17

· The spirit of Jealousy attacks our self-worth, affects how we view others, the world, creates bitterness, harbors hatred, entices people to compromise their morals, and only serves to take us into a downward spiral that will ultimately produce rejection in our lives. All of that has an origin and it is all from satan

· James 3:16 tells us this, "For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice."

· The characteristics of the spirit of Jealousy are not always easy to spot at first but once you pick up on one or two you will see how they weave together. Went over 10 characteristics.

· Discussed 3 real-life examples of people dealing with a jealous spirit

· If you are struggling with a spirit of jealousy, even just slightly, you need to address it head on, and quickly. You do not want to allow it to take root and begin to stir up other areas that will only produce chaos in your life.

o Admit it and don’t try to justify it.

o Repent

o Ask for Forgiveness

o Be Thankful.

· If you are in the position of having to deal with the spirit of jealousy from someone in your life here are ways to evict the influence it is having over you.

o Seek the Lord and pray over the situation

o Pray for them

o Don't allow yourself to get upset by their behavior

o Shift your position to cutoff opportunity or redirect attention

o If the situation is just too toxic for you to be able to function at work, church within the family, then you want to consider the process we discussed in the Narcissism episodes that is laid out for us in Matthew 18:15.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

I have enjoyed this time with you and I look forward to our time again next week!

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing witchcraft. There are several episodes worth of information that can encompass witchcraft, so I am going to narrow down our scope to discuss activities that Christians participate in knowingly and unknowingly that are opening the doors to the demonic through witchcraft. I will share some stories as well. The activities we are referring to in this episode include: astrology, palmistry, seances (conjuring up the dead), consulting a medium for any purpose such as tarot cards, speaking to the spirits, guidance, consulting a witch or wizard for spells or guidance.
Ok so as always let's recap the Top Show Points:

· Discussed activities that Christians participate in knowingly and unknowingly that are opening the doors to the demonic through witchcraft

· Deuteronomy 18: 9, Anyone who does these things is detestable to the Lord

· Trends in witchcraft are being related to less interest in "religion" and an increase in wanting something spiritual.

· We talked about 3 people, 2 of which are struggling with consequences of witchcraft and a third that is dealing with a wife not recognizing demonic influences because her heart is not open to the truth of the Bible

· We talked about Luke 22:31, and the challenges the disciples faced under an attack from satan "to be sifted"

· Astrology is an attempt to "interpret" the influence stars and planets have on human destiny. Counterfeit of the Holy Spirit

· Leviticus 19: 26 and we'll look at 19: 31. 26 reads, “‘Do not practice divination or seek omens. 31 reads, “‘Do not turn to mediums or seek out spiritists, for you will be defiled by them. I am the Lord your God.

· Tarot cards were originally just playing cards. In the late 18th century they became another tool used in divination.

· All of these witchcraft forms is that in every area there are people who practice and call themselves Christian witches or Christian mediums. Their source is entirely demonic.

· We issued a challenge to either

o 1)turn away from witchcraft activities and seek only the Lord

o 2)ask the Lord to reveal to you someone you can help who is involved in these activities

o 3)pray for Christians to be broken from the deceit of witchcraft

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community. In the month of October I will be picking 2 more people at random from our Warrior community for a one hour one to one discussion, so if you would like to be included in that random drawing make sure you join the community.

Welcome Back! I am Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to talk about part 2 of Knocking out Narcissism and how we manage our reactions to a narcissist. In the last episode, we defined a narcissist, we identified common traits and the demonic influences generally associated with narcissism. We also were introduced to some specific cases involving narcissists.
Top Show Points:

· Common traits of a narcissist:

o Need for excessive admiration continually, Expectation of special treatment, they are superior to others, Lack of Empathy for everyone else, Need to constantly be the center of attention, Need to always be the one who is right, Need to always have their feelings be validated over everyone else, Controlling, power hungry, anger, Lack of patience for others, Deceitful, cunning, Antagonism, Manipulative, Expects others to meet their needs regardless of what is required, grand gestures

· The demonic influences associated with these traits:

o Pride, Insecurity, Fear of disapproval, Competition, Perfection, Hatred, Cursing – belittling others, gossip, mockery, backbiting, Intolerance, Fear of Rejection, Jealousy, Loneliness, Paranoia, Material Lust, Sensitiveness, Self-Righteousness, Rationalization, Self-delusion, Fear of Failure Self-Deception, Inferiority, Bitterness, Dominance, Jealousy, Indifference, Control, Rejection, Anger, Fear of Authority – Lying, Fear of accusation, Rebellion, Bitterness, Witchcraft, Theatrics

· Our scenarios from last week involve 2 work situations. The second two are family situations, sister in laws.

· The people who have shared their story have one thing in common, they truly want to be able to have the issues resolved with Narcy and be able to salvage the relationship.

· Steps to Manage a Narcissist:

o Pray for Truth: What we are seeking as we pray for truth is for the Lord to come into this situation and address our heart and Narcy's heart. We want the Holy Spirit to convict us if we are misjudging Narcy or the situation and ask for forgiveness if we are convicted. We want to ask for His will to be done and at the same time for truth to be revealed in every situation.

o Pray for Protection and Rebuke: If Narcy's behavior is being influenced by the demonic, you cannot control what Narcy allows the demonic to do in her life, but as a believer, you can control how that demonic influence impacts you in your presence. Any space that you occupy can be protected and the time you are in contact with Narcy can be protected.

o There is instruction Jesus provides in Matthew 18:15 for how to handle this conflict if Narcy is a believer. Gathering your witnesses to address Narcy.

· Put together scriptures you can have handy when you are about to interact with Narcy. This is a great time to start your scripture journal.

o Psalms 31:3, Job 42:2, Proverbs 16:3, Luke 10:19, Isaiah 54:17, Romans 16:20, Romans 14:11, 1 Corinthians 15:57, Ephesians 6:10-17 – The Armor of God, 1 John 4:4

Welcome Back! I am Dawn Simmons, host of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies and this week we are going to be discussing the Holy Spirit. We've had a number of weeks of some heavier topics so I want to bring some light into our time together. A refreshing for us, so we can refocus on whatever we have in our lives and step forward with the Holy Spirit ready to reclaim our lives for the Kingdom. This will by no means be an all-encompassing discussion on the Holy Spirit. What I want to do instead is talk about the Holy Spirit's origin and role in our lives. There are a lot of misconceptions about the Holy Spirit. Let's be clear and open about the Holy Spirit in our lives and how our lives can be radically changed when we include the Holy Spirit and ask for guidance.

Ok so as always let's recap the Top Show Points:

· So let's start off with the origin of the Holy Spirit. In Genesis 1:1, we are introduced to God as he begins the process of creating the heavens and the earth. In the second verse of the Bible, we are introduced to the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit has been in existence since before the world was formed. He has been through everything in world history.

· The Holy Spirit was heavily involved in with God's people, helping them, providing for their needs, providing comfort, focus, clarity.

· You often hear there are two baptisms.

o The first baptism that occurred in the Bible was by John the Baptist and is called a baptism of repentance.

o The second baptism is the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. The act of baptism in Jesus is intended to cover both the act of repentance and the act of receiving of the "Gift" of the Holy Spirit.

· Jesus tells us before he ascended that we will receive a helper, a Spirit of truth. John tells is beautifully three times in scripture how Jesus explained the coming of the Holy Spirit. John 14:16, John 15:26, John 16:13-14

· They are freely available to us, but we certainly have to want them. We certainly have to have a relationship with the Holy Spirit and we certainly have to understand the giftings, their purpose and our responsibility with them. They are entirely for Kingdom purposes. The Holy Spirit is not going to give you something you are not prepared for, do not understand and are not going to be trustworthy once you have it. That would not be a gift, that would be a problem. The Holy Spirit does not give us problems

· An unpardonable sin is when we reject the Holy Spirit who will convict us of our sin so we can repent and then be forgiven. If we, primarily as an unbeliever, note it could happen to a believer who walks away and turns their back on the Lord, if we continually reject the Holy Spirit and are unrepentant, and therefore unforgiven, and continue to live in sin, we are committing the unpardonable sin

· Develop your relationship with the Holy Spirit. Spend intentional time with Him daily, not divided time, intentional focused time. As this relationship develops you will see an increase in your life. You will notice words, people, areas where you can make an impact. It will be easier to see the enemy coming at you for an attack and your defense will be in place and you can go on the offense.

· Also, I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community. In the month of October I will be picking 4 people at random from our Warrior community for a one hour one to one discussion, so if you would like to be included in that random drawing make sure you join the community.

Welcome Back! I am your host Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be discussing Rejection. I want to address how the Spirit of Rejection works to torment us and in contrast show how our best defense against rejection is forgiveness. We will also discuss signs to know if you are responding with a spirit of rejection. We can then go on the offense by responding in love, which some believe is one of the most difficult acts we are asked to do as believers, but we'll see how it's actually simple.

Top show points to remember:

· Rejection is an inner wound that requires forgiveness for healing to begin. If we don't forgive, the inner wound to begin to fester and infect the rest of our heart and mind.

· The Spirit of Rejection is a tormenting demon. Its objective is to bring you into bondage using your own pain against you

· When we are rejected, we feel overlooked, excluded, unloved, slighted, disrespected, undervalued, forgotten. The natural tendency when we are rejected is to defend ourselves

· Rejection can deceive you into believing anything about yourself and about others. The idea is to keep you so wrapped up in this deceit, you can't focus on forgiving the person you believe has wronged you.

· We reviewed 10 signs of the spirit of rejection at work in our lives

· Root it out with Forgiveness. This may require a look back to see where you may not have forgiven someone who wronged you and as a result creating this attitude or behavior. This situation won't change until we learn how to forgive and defend our heart and mind the correct way.

· Luke 23:34 shows us how Jesus forgave when he was rejected. This is the ultimate rejection. Jesus continually faced rejection throughout his ministry and he did not react sinfully. He never let satan get a foothold in his life. He responded with forgiveness first and then love.

· Another example is Stephen. He was able to forgive when he was rejected and stoned

· So when we are rejected, or even if we feel rejected getting to that place of forgiveness before we allow our heart and mind to become hurt is a rebuke in action.

· we need to find a place in our hearts and minds to forgive who….everyone. We can't single anyone out, any offense out, we have to let it all go and trust God to do what is best for us and the other person.

· Matthew 6:14, "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you"

· Let’s examine love as Paul describes it in 1 Corinthians 13.

· Don't make love harder than it has to be. Don't turn love into actions or behaviors it is not. Don't apply expectations to either forgiveness or love that are unrealistic and difficult to maintain. Once we start doing that to ourselves, we are creating our own challenges and the enemy is right there to draw it out and torment us when our expectations are not met.

· Just keep it simple. If you have multiple people to forgive, start with the easiest first and be sincere.
I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community. In the month of October I will be picking 4 people at random from our Warrior community for a one hour one to one discussion, so if you want to be included in that random drawing make sure you join the community.

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons and on this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be talking about how the enemy uses the spirit of doubt to deceive us into questioning our decisions and actions to lead us into inactivity and wrong choices. We will also discuss the importance of faith in conquering our unseen enemy of doubt.

Top show points to remember

The spirit of doubt is a creeper spirit. It doesn’t show up in your face, instead it slowly makes its way toward you taking every opportunity to exploit challenges around you to its advantage

The spirit of doubt is dangerous because it is a counterfeit to logic and reason. It will use what you think is your God given ability to discern and counterfeit your process of decision making to drive you to do nothing rather than move forward.

It specializes as all demons do, but it specializes at worm holing its way through our faith. If we cannot maintain the integrity of our faith, it will crumble, it will be eaten away and what will you have left to stand on for support? Faith in our walk with Jesus is crucial. We have to protect our house, we have to protect our faith.

As a strongman, doubt is incredibly powerful and its aftermath can be devastating.

The opposite of doubt is faith. Faith can hold you up through all things. Faith can build you in your hardest days. Faith can tear down the plans of the enemy.

Referencing Matthew 14:31, Peter was required to act in faith. If we let doubt win, we cripple our faith. It will inhibit our ability to reach for Jesus which is what the enemy is counting on as our response.

doubt is one of the strongest of the demonic strongmen. Our faith has to be bigger than the strongman and through Jesus it can be.

We need to have the same level of faith in our lives that Jesus exhibited in His.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Also, I want to encourage you to visit our website and join our Warrior community. In the month of October I will be picking 4 people at random from our Warrior community for a one hour one to one discussion, so if you would like to be included in that random drawing make sure you join the community.

As always, I hope you learned something and took away some points you can apply to your life. The next episode is going to be covering rejection, so be sure to join me next week!

I look forward to talking with you again.

Welcome back! My name is Dawn Simmons and I am your host for Conquering Our Unseen Enemies. In this episode we are going to discuss how demons work to control us and discuss techniques you can use that will serve to not only defend but give you some offensive power in the name of Jesus. We will examine one process of control satan uses against us for his purposes. Specifically, we will be examining how possessiveness, manipulation, and dominance all work together to bring us to a place where satan controls the incomes and outcomes of our lives. I'll also share some of my experiences working with a young man who has allowed satan to control him but is trying to regain his life with Jesus. I am letting you know now, this is a hard episode for me, a dark episode to share because I want to give you a look into the reality of another person without trying to be sensationalist or scary. It is a scary place for someone already there, and I want to keep as many people as I can from being in this position.

Top show points are:

· Demons function as experts, specialists, in a particular area

· In the area of control, the demon of control will get some help in possessiveness, manipulation and dominance from other demons that frequently are associated with insecurity, sadness, fear, inferiority, rejection, accusation, guilt, and anger may make an appearance but not always.

· In the beginning of the process of control, demons will seek to be very possessive over someone. I don't mean possess; I mean to behave possessive towards the person. This can be done by creating a false sense of comfort.

· Weaknesses are being exploited and the deception has created a counterfeit love to open the door for additional demons to enter. These demons begin to plant their seeds of doubt and fear and paranoia frequently joins the group.

· The main tool used in manipulation is guilt. It keeps our wounds alive and demons will keep pressing into it. The pressing methods can be both direct and subtle.

· Being possessive and manipulative are controlling, but domination is where the act of control eclipses all else and the person is no longer able to think clearly for themselves.

· We need to do as Peter advised us and be alert and of sober mind.

· Some techniques you can use that will serve to not only defend but give you some offensive power in the name of Jesus.

o Rebuke in the name of Jesus. If this is all you can do, this is a good start to building up a defense.

o Add scripture to your rebuke. These are easy ones to remember and pull out of your mind quickly. If this is all you can do, this is a good start to building up your offense.

o Give thanks to the Lord. A thankful heart is a protected heart. This will begin the process of creating an atmosphere around you that will over time tire the enemy out and he will move on, away from you

o Scriptures to build up your strength. Adding this will position you not only to keep your house clean but help someone else with their house.

o Create a scripture journal to start building up your weapons to start conquering our unseen enemies.

Welcome Back! I am your host, Dawn Simmons, and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to lay some groundwork for understanding demon groupings. We will also talk about how demon groupings can form, I will be sharing some of my experiences in working with people to deliver them from the bondage of demons and going over some demon groupings.

Top show points to remember:

· Demons are disembodied spiritual persons who are a part of the Kingdom of satan. They have characteristics that reveal their role in their warfare against us.

· Demons function as experts, specialists, in a particular area for example anxiety. Their entire purpose is to create anxiety in you at any opportunity and if there aren't enough opportunities then they will help to create opportunity.

· Their process will change depending on the person, the place, circumstances and external factors. Demons know the person they are demonizing very well.

· the strongman, not always, but usually the first one in is the one to set up shop so to speak and create opportunities for us to allow other legal access through our sin or words.

· As they create opportunities for others to enter, and we oblige because we are caught up in their deception and lies, then the group begins to form. You can think of it like a chain. They join together and create a demonic chain of influence that over time will get bigger and stronger and pretty soon has us in a bondage

· These groupings can also be called colonies, clans or families. A particular grouping will form that will control a particular area of a person's life.

· The chances are very slim that someone is being demonized by only one demon. They work best together and in particular combinations.

· A strongman is essentially the ruler of the groupings. In a situation where the demons become challenged, you may only hear from the strongman and the others in the group will simply hide behind the strongman and remain silent. The strategy is that if they hide behind the strongman and you don't know they are present, you will miss their presence and they can remain even if others are evicted.

· Not everything we do or that happens to us is demonic. Sometimes we are just making bad choices, so do not misunderstand what I am saying. We are ultimately responsible for our decisions, demon influenced or not because we are also responsible for cleaning out our "house".

· You can have multiple groupings but in each grouping you can have duplicates.

· On average, it is not uncommon for demons count to be in the 20 or even 30 range because they are so specialized. They gain strength in numbers, so it is to their benefit to join forces.

· There are over 50 groupings that I use when identifying demons and the strong man.

Welcome to the first episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies! Because it's our first episode I want to take a few minutes to give you a rundown of what we are going to be examining during this journey to develop spiritual discernment and conquer our unseen enemies. I'm going to let you know now, where we are going together is considered controversial by many. For some, discussing demons is scary, for some, understanding curses should be off limits, for some, exposing witchcraft will be convicting. I will be sharing stories of how to develop spiritual discernment and experiences with both the Kingdom of God and the kingdom of satan. I welcome you to share your experiences as well, you can submit those to me at contact@conqueringourunseenenemies.com. We will go deep into understanding how Satan works, and answer questions like how do demons group, how do demons enter people, why do poltergeists exist, and do people really see their relatives who have passed?

Top show points to remember:

· New Podcast, Conquering Our Unseen Enemies

· We are Bible based focused on developing our spiritual discernment understanding satan and his tactics

· Your knowledge in understanding satan and his demons will strengthen you and help you build those around you so we can send satan packing in the name of Jesus!

· There are 2 kingdoms, God's Kingdom, which is light and Truth and Satan's Kingdom which is darkness and deception. God created both kingdoms, satan was thrown out of heaven and there are at least 3 heavens.

· Believers live in the kingdom of God, but we are influenced daily by the kingdom of satan

· We are responsible for and required to use our authority in the name of Jesus to conquer our unseen enemies, satan's kingdom.

We encourage you:

· To have an active bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

discuss biblical and demonic soul ties. We will explain what a soul tie is and the nature of how it is formed. We will give Biblical examples of healthy soul ties and examples of demonic soul ties the Bible warns us against. In the second episode we will continue the discussion of demonic soul ties and we will also go through the four steps to break demonic soul ties. I do want to say upfront that while this show isn’t intended for children, this episode, in particular, has some content that children should not be exposed to so please be aware of that before we begin.

Let's get started. There are not a lot of discussions in Christian circles about soul ties. I don't know of any churches that have taught on this matter from the pulpit, if you do, I'd be interested to know about it. I think on the surface it sounds mystical, like something we shouldn't be talking about. If you go deeper, I think the Christians today don't talk about it because satan doesn't want us to talk about it. If we do, he is going to lose some of his control over people. So the weirder it sounds, the less mainstream Christians will pursue it. Ok, enough jibber jab, let's get into what we mean by a soul tie and break it down biblical versus demonic.

Top show points for this episode are:

· A soul tie is formed when two, but could be more, people are bonded together. There are healthy soul ties and there are unhealthy soul ties. Some are natural soul ties and some are unnatural. There are soul ties based on love and there are soul ties based on sin.

· There are 4 types that are healthy, natural, based on love and biblical.

o The first is through marriage. God created Eve for Adam, so it is the first biblical bond in recorded history in the book of Genesis. Note that this is a new soul tie formed as two others are broken off, leaving the father and mother.

o The second healthy soul tie is friendship. The bible gives us one of the richest examples of friendship I have ever seen. David and Jonathan had an instant bond, a brotherly love that served to keep David alive. These are friendships that are unmistakable.

o The third biblical soul tie is between a parent and a child. This makes sense to most of us. When we create that child there is a necessary physical bond between the mother and the child for the 9 months during the pregnancy. A bond can also be created with the father, I know there are newborns that recognize their father’s voice and respond.

o this is referring to Christians as a group, the church. We are meant as the body of Christ to support each other. We can’t each do it on our own, sometimes we need help, sometimes we are the help. We need to help others grow and mentor them to be strong in the Lord.

· Demonic soul ties are perversions of healthy soul ties.

o The first is adultery or unmarried couples. The demon attached to this tie typically is lust. Ties are formed between two people that are not united in marriage.

o A second demonic soul tie is formed when there is same sex relations

o A third demonic soul tie is when a man or woman has sexual relations with an animal, I think most of us see the perversity of that pretty readily, but what you may not see so readily is when companionship reaches a level that is perverse.

o Another category of demonic soul ties are evil companions. We can be influenced by who we choose as friends. We need to be honest with ourselves about the company we keep and how it affects us and our relationship with the Lord.

Welcome to Conquering Our Unseen Enemies, I am your host, Dawn Simmons and today we are going to discuss the scriptural basis for the authority Jesus gave us. I felt like we needed some time with a topic more uplifting. This begins to lay the groundwork for building confidence to act in faith in our authority. We need to get this understood in our mind, body and spirit to be able to conquer and cancel the plans of the enemy, evicting him from our lives.

Top show points for episode 5 are:

· Every believer has authority in the name of Jesus

· Scriptures which illuminate God has given all authority to Jesus are: John 3:31-36, Matthew 11:27, Matthew 28:18, Luke 10:22, Colossians 2:10

· Jesus redeemed us at the cross, but we need to remember he didn't stay there and neither should we. We aren’t meant to remain at the foot of the cross to bring glory to God's kingdom.

· Scriptures that reveal Jesus is no longer at the cross: Colossians 2:13, Ephesians 1:20- 23

· Jesus is seated at the right hand of God and so are we. Ephesians 2:4

· We should be discussing our authority with believers everyday

· Jesus gave us His authority to be used for God's kingdom in His name. Matthew 10:1, Luke 10:19

· Satan is here to destroy us: 1 Peter 5:8, John 10:10

· Jesus expects us to use his authority Mark 16: 16-17, 1 Corinthians 6:17

· Clarification points of our authority and ways we should use it and ways we should not try to use it and its limitations

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

So now let's pick up where we left off and list out some things found in our lives or homes that create the legal right. From there we will examine how to break that legal right including how to clean out hospital rooms or hotels where you may be located temporarily. I will also be sharing some more personal experiences from a house we lived that had an unwelcome inhabitant.

Top show points to remember:

· The word poltergeist literally means knocking spirit. It comes from German verb “poltern” which means to knock and “geist” which means “spirit”. Its objective is to cause fear, harass, and hinder the lives of the inhabitants of the property.

· Common manifestations are objects moving. Most of the time you don’t see them move, but you may hear them move. Also, the sound of chains, footsteps, there may be shadows present, glass shattering, lights on and off, doors and cabinets open and shut, cold spots

· Our scriptural references for open spiritual doors are: Exodus 20:3-5, Deut 4:15-19, Acts 17:22

· A poltergeist is a demon that has a legal right to inhabit a property and as long as the condition exists that allowed the demon to enter, it maintains the legal right to stay.

· Poltergeists are initially brought in through sin, idolatrous or occult related practices. It may or may not be our own sin sometimes it is related to previous inhabitants, family members, someone living with you and may have nothing to do with you.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

Welcome back! I am Dawn Simmons and in this episode of Conquering Our Unseen Enemies we are going to be spending some time talking about something pretty common and greatly misunderstood…Poltergeists. We’ll break it down and I will be sharing some personal stories of my encounters with poltergeists. The causes and how we get rid of them. There is so much to discuss here that this is going to be split into two episodes, so make sure you listen to both episodes!!

Top show points to remember:

Welcome back to Conquering Our Unseen Enemies. Today I want to address some questions that will also serve to clarify some misconceptions. So we will be discussing: What is a Demon? What is a Believer? Can believers be demon possessed? Is casting out demons real and can we really cast out (evict) demons the way Jesus did? What authority do we have to tell evicted demons where to go? Can we evict demons in non-believers?

Episode Recap

· They have characteristics that reveal their role in their warfare against us.

· We need to clarify here when I refer to a believer what I am specifically saying. A believer is someone who has accepted Jesus as their savior. Someone who believes that Jesus is the son of God, who died for their sins, was resurrected and ascended back into heaven at the right hand of God.

· Believers cannot be demon possessed because we have salvation in Jesus and therefore cannot be possessed by someone or something not of God. Believers can be demonized, and can be indwelt.

· Casting out, or evicting, demons is very real. The Holy Spirit is always in control so you need to make sure you are yielding to the Holy Spirit.

· We have very little authority to tell evicted demons where to go, but the Holy Spirit may give us specific instructions so we need to listen always

· Demons can be evicted in non-believers but it is not the best long term solution. It is better to bring that person to salvation and then evict.

We encourage you:

· To have an active Bible reading plan, it will be helpful in gaining wisdom and understanding and it is required for the gift of spiritual discernment

· Watch the video on our YouTube channel, Life Journey with Dawn Simmons for additional background on the demon of divination Paul was addressing.

Welcome Back to Conquering Our Unseen Enemies. I am your host Dawn Simmons and this is Episode two of two in our discussion of Soul Ties. In this episode we are going to recap episode one and then we are going to continue the discussion of demonic ties and go through the four steps to break those demonic ties.

Top show points for episode 7 are:

· Family and perverted family soul ties.

o We talked in Episode 1 of Soul Ties about issues when a parent does not let an adult child go, that ultimately creates a demonic soul tie that creates issues of control, possessiveness, obsessiveness. There is manipulation that happens in these situations, all around it is not healthy.

o Then, of course, when we have incest, demonic ties are formed from the sinful act.

· Demonic soul ties can be formed with the dead

· Demonic soul ties within the church.

o This involves several issues but we will start with the easy one, cliques or favoritism

o It can be a tie created over a pastor or a mentor in the church.

o Another example of this which unfortunately we see at least 2-3 a year in the news, when a church has members involved in an adulterous affair.

· We have to break soul ties. They will grow and take root if we don’t. There are 4 simple steps:

o The first thing we need to do is identify any soul ties we have

o Second, confess to the Lord all the ties you identified. You want to declare that all ties are broken in the name of Jesus and state that satan has no legal right to you.

o Third, we need to go to the Lord and repent of all these ties we have formed. Then you are going to ask for forgiveness for your participation in creating these ties.

o Fourth, you want to command each demon associated with the demonic ties to leave you in the name of Jesus. This authority is available to believers.

o Finally, be mindful of behaviors, habits or influences that could bring you back to a place where you try to reconnect those demonic soul ties and if you see an issue starting again, rebuke it in the name of Jesus.

Welcome back! This is Conquering Our Unseen Enemies and I am your host Dawn Simmons.  Today we are going to talk about something you may already be familiar with, Familiar Spirits!

We will discuss how these harmful counterfeits to the Holy Spirit develop relationships specific to an individual and what you need to do to evict these spirits and their influence in your life.  Before I begin, I do want to say that this episode will have content that is inappropriate for children.

Top show points are:

·       A familiar spirit is a specific type of spirit who functions in a relationship with a human taking on the characteristics of a familiar person.  This can be a real person or even an imagined person or personality.

·       The biggest tool a familiar spirit uses is communication.  I am more aware of this spirit affecting women than men.  Women like to communicate a lot more than men. We talk things out more.  Communication develops relationship.  A familiar spirit will be more than happy to accommodate our communication needs.  The familiar spirit becomes attached or associated to the individual person.

·       There are two main ways you will see familiar spirits operate.  The first is one on one as a companion to a human.  The human knows the spirit is there, likely sees it as a good companion and either knowingly or in ignorance has created, fostered and developed that relationship.

·       The second way is through someone who serves as a public medium.  The public medium provides a “service” to others.

·       how these spirits integrate into lives, with people willingly and unknowingly inviting them into multiple aspects of their lives.

o   The first way these spirits integrate is more difficult to discern.  The familiar spirit uses deception by appearing to be a good companion or providing some sort of benefit, useful information for example.  The human erroneously believes that because this spirit has been helpful that it must be a good spirit, it must be from God.

o   A second way: tricking our minds to think what is happening is her imagination or a fantasy.  She doesn’t recognize that it is a spirit being at all.  Sometimes you will even hear this rational described as accessing God through the mind.

o   Probably the most commonly recognized avenues of integration is through attempting to communicate with the dead.  This is frequently done with a medium.

·       Specific activities so you can begin to recognize warning signs:

o   Divination has become so mainstream now and it is really quite scary how well it has been integrated into our culture.  People continue to seek a medium to know their future.

o   Second, games and toys. We all know a Oiuja board is purely Satanic but there are plenty of new gaming activities that are satanic in nature.

o   Third, us of drugs or alcohol.  This can be either prescription or hallucinogenic drugs.  All will alter our state of mind to accept a deception as a truth.

o   Fourth, the use of the practice of Visualization.  This may not be something you see often, at least I hope not but it is a tool often used in inner healing situations.

o   Fifth, communicating with the dead.

o   Sixth, transcendental mediation, which is associated with Hinduism, or any form of trance producing meditation where chants or mantras are used to receive enlightenment or

Introducing Dawn Simmons, who she is and what she does.

I am a believer, I was raised in a Christian home and baptized at 11 years old. I also work in the financial industry. I have been teaching and mentoring for over 19 years now. I am an author, speaker and I have a YouTube Channel, Life Journey with Dawn Simmons where we focus on Bible Based topics which include traveling to locations of biblical importance such as Corinth, Delphi. Coming out this year on the channel we are sharing our recent trip to the area the Bible refers to as Asia Minor including a visit to each of the location of the seven churches mentioned in the Book of Revelation. My focus in all that I do is to bring the life in the pages of the Bible out and support our relationship with the Lord. In this podcast you will hear Bible Based topics devoted specifically to develop our spiritual discernment. Believers need to be better equipped to understand the strategies and tactics of the enemy. Only then can we can evict him from our lives and the lives of our family. We need to know how to fight those battles for ourselves and over our families. When we can evict satan’s influence we will reduce conflict, chaos and stress. We will be able to build the abundant life Jesus intended. So my time here with you is to guide you through understanding the Kingdom of God, the Kingdom of Light and Truth versus the Kingdom of Satan, the kingdom of darkness and deception. We will talk about topics such as: what is a demon, what is a soul tie, what is our authority in Jesus, are poltergeists real, how to use praise as a defense and an offense, what is a familiar spirit. There are so many ways we are under attack every day and we need to know how we can take Biblical authority over our households and evict Satan once and for all. These are life changing conversations. I look forward to being on this journey with you.

I want to also ask you to check us out on social media. We’d love to hear from you. Our Launch date is 9/1/2022!!
