Saved and Loved: Recent Episodes

Jacob blesses his sons before he dies. Joseph also blesses his sons before he dies and is buried in a coffin in Egypt. Each blessing to the twelve tribes is prophetic to carry out God's plan for us today. Some tribes were cursed because of their evil deeds, while others were blessed. This is a conclusion to the book of Genesis and God's everlasting promise to the Israelites and the rest of his people who enter his Kingdom by faith. His promise to provide for us even in the darkest of times. What Satan means for evil, God means for good for those who love Him.

Joseph is now second in command and ruling all of Egypt to fulfill God's prophecy to save all the people in the land, including his brothers and their household. The land had a great famine, and his brothers came to Egypt to buy grain. Joseph sees them, but the brothers do not recognize him as their own. Eventually, Joseph reveals himself to the brothers who tried to kill him and sold him off to slavery. But he cared for them, saving and delivering them from the famine. All eleven brothers bow down to Joseph as he dreamt and shared with his jealous brothers. God fulfilled his promises to Joseph.

Joseph is now in a dungeon prison and well respected by his fellow inmates and guards. He was put in charge of all other inmates and managed them well. He interpreted the dreams of two inmates and told one to tell Pharaoh of this gift of interpretation. But he forgot. Then Pharaoh had his dreams that disturbed him of the skinny and fat cows, and he called Joseph to interpret them. The dreams came from God, and interpretation also came from God. Joseph explained the coming 7-year famine and how to prepare for it. Thus, Pharaoh put him in charge of all of Egypt to become second in command, fulfilling prophecy. This story is the male version of Cinderella. All his hardships ended happily and prosperously for Joseph to rule Egypt.

Dinah, Leah's only daughter, went off with the Canaanites' daughters to the market and was raped by a well-to-do Canaanite man. He raped her and then wanted to marry her. So, he told his father to make deals with Jacob to marry Dinah. Dinah's two brothers hatched a plan for revenge against them and their household. They made a deal to require their circumcision so they could be part of the Hebrews covenant, allow marriage, and exchange each other daughters to marry their sons. It was a good deal, but it was all a ploy for the brothers to take revenge when all the men were in pain and vulnerable. They killed all the men and took their possessions. The end of Dinah's story is not told about what happened to her, but she could not marry, having been defiled and her brothers killing her rapist who sought to be her husband. This was a story of revenge.

Jacob is told to return to his father's lands, but he fears what Essau, his older brother, whom he cheated out of his birthright and blessings, will do to him in revenge. God sent his angels ahead of him to protect Jacob and prepare Essau for his brother's return. Before Jacob met his older brother, he wrestled with God all night to receive His blessing. Jacob prevailed against God as it was told, but God humbled him by touching his hip socket to have injured him. Jacob received his blessings even though God had already revealed his promises to him as he promised his forefathers. Jacob met with Essau, and Essau opened his heart to welcome his brother to become united as brothers once again.

Jacob flees his home to Isaac's brother's lands, where he meets Rachel. He fell in love with her instantly. He kissed her and wept as she came to the well to water her flock of sheep. She was a shepherdess, keeper of her father's flocks. Jacob was tricked by her father, Labon, into marrying her older sister, Leah. Leah was ugly, while Rachel was beautiful, whom Jacob loved. He worked 14 years for her and another seven years to tend Labon's flock before he fled his lands to go back home. Jacob's story is of long-suffering, patience, and self-control, i.e., fruits of the spirit to obtain what he desired the most, Rachel. However, God blessed Leah because she was unloved. She had seven children, six boys and one girl, Dinah. The six boys were half of the Israelite tribes as Jacob's descendants. He also had the remaining tribes from Rachel and Leah's handmaidens. God also opened Rachel's womb and blessed her with her sons. Leah's story is of unrequited love to never receive the love of Jacob that she longed for. While Jacob ultimately loses Rachel as she was cursed to die by having stolen her father's idol gods. These chapters are dramatic family dramas to be their own blockbuster movie.

Clever Jacob tricks his older twin brother, Essau, into giving away his birthright to him in exchange for a bowl of soup. Essau was a hunter and loved by Isaac, while Rebekah loved Jacob. She schemed with Jacob to trick Isaac into giving a blessing meant for Essau to Jacob. She told him to wear goat hair on his hand and arm to trick Isaac into thinking it was Essau. It worked, and Jacob received all the blessings while Essau pleaded with his father to get any blessings. This story shows the power of parents to bless or curse their children. Something overlooked in our day, yet one can easily see the lack of parental blessing in people's lives. Those blessed by their parents prosper, while those without wander the earth struggling. All parents need to bless their children.

Sarah dies, and he purchases a burial plot in a cave that he paid shackles as a binding contract. He buries her in the land and cave he bought from the Hittites. Abraham seeks to find a good wife for Isaac and sends his servant to go into his father's land to find her there. The servant, trusting God, goes there as instructed and meets Rebekah at the well. He says she will be the one if she comes to water his ten camels and give him a drink. She did, and he immediately met with her family to offer her a wealth of jewels. Isaac meets Rebekah and loves her.

Godโs intervention to protect Sarah, Abraham, and Abimelek from sinning even with good intentions. Abraham tells Abimelek a little white lie that he is the brother of Sarah, which is true while leaving out that Sarah is also his wife. Abimelek took Sarah as his wife, and God intervened to give him a death threat and a curse on his household if he took Sarah as his wife. Abimelek obeyed God, and he and his household were healed, and God opened the wombs of his servants. This story shows Godโs intervening after people sin and redeems them back to Him. God controls fertility and can ordain the outcome of what he intends for us. Peopleโs hearts are sick, and God is always offering his salvation. Thus, all the biblical stories are Godโs handiwork and promise to show all sin and his plan for their redemption. Otherwise, they are lost and dead in their souls. God loves his creation and wants to bless all nations and their people. Abraham is tested to obey God when asked to sacrifice his only beloved son, a typology of Jesus. He obeyed God to prove his faith and blessed Abraham to fulfill his promise.

The wickedness of two cities, Sodom and Gomorrah, was so evil that God heard the cries of the righteous to judge them. He sent down two Angels to go to these cities for their judgment. As soon as they entered the city of Sodom and stayed with Lot and his family, all people from the towns, young and old, gathered together at Lot's home to rape the two Angels. The people were so wicked that even though the Angels physically blinded them, they continued to grope their way through in an attempt to rape them. Lot offered his two daughters as a sacrifice to protect the Angels. That was not enough for the wicked to pursue their desires to rape "other flesh." God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah with fire and brimstone while taking out Lot and his family. God had mercy on Lot and his family to save them from destruction. However, Lot's wife looked back and turned into a pillar of salt. Then, in exile, Lot's two daughters had sex with their father without his knowledge to continue his lineage as they thought there were no other men on earth to give them offspring. This crazy storyline is worth knowing, and this is happening again with the growing wickedness where God will judge again.

God required Abram and his household to get circumcised, a sign of the covenant that God made with Abram that he would multiply his descendants to be numerous as stars in the heavens, and the dust of the ground. Even though Abram was imputed righteousness, he would have been barred from the Kingdom of Heaven had he not obeyed God. God's plan for all humanity was to be obedient to God, live righteous and justly, and God would provide all things in the Garden of Eden. Since many fall short in sin, God always works with His people to stay on course and bless them. This can be applied today in all our lives and make a decision. Choose whom you will serve.

Abram had a child with his Egyptian servant Hagar because he listened to his wife, Sarai. Sarai was barren and thought she could make an heir for Abram by offering her handmaiden to bear his child. Instead of listening to God, he listened to his wife. The impact of this decision was significant. God's promise to Abram for many descendants was not going to be honored through Ishmael, son of his servant, but through the birth of his son Isaac with Sarai. God still blessed Ishmael to be the father of many nations. However, many nations would be adverse to him, and he opposed many nations. This outcome was not what God intended, but God still blessed Abram's consequences. Also, the Angel of the Lord appears in this story to discuss if he was a messenger of God or God himself, appearing as an angel to Abram and others throughout the Bible. Much like the modern-day Handmaiden's Tale, this family drama continues.

God chose Abram and promised him numerous descendants as the stars in the sky. "Abram believed the Lord, and He credited it to him as righteousness." Thus, God made a future promise to fill His earth with righteous people through the seed of Abraham. However, this is also a spiritual covenant with all people who believe in God to enter the Kingdom of God. The topic of righteousness is crucial in this chapter to know the character of God and what he expects from us, faithful obedience to be able to be imputed His righteousness onto us.

Abram and his nephew, Lot, lived together until their wealth and flocks outgrew their lands. They parted in separate directions and took the lands they saw before them. Lot headed towards Jordan Valley and Sodom and Gomorrah. Abram went in the opposite direction. He was very wealthy and had over 300 servants in his household, comparable to a big corporation today. Then Four Kings against Five Kings war broke out around the Dead Sea area. The Kings took all the possessions of Sodom and Gomorrah and kidnapped Lot. Abram rescued Lot with his staff of 300 men and returned his recovered possessions. Melchizedek then blessed Abram as the first High Priest, and Abraham gave him a tenth of his possessions as tithings. After returning from battle, Melchizedek offered Abram bread and wine and blessed him in the name of the Most High God, who created heaven and earth. Thus, establishing the priesthood, customs, and communion foreshadows Jesus becoming the ultimate High Priest to establish His new covenant with all people.

The nations of the earth came together to build their brick tower to the heavens. Nimrod, a mighty hunter and king over many nations sought to create his own one-world utopia and temple to himself. He sought to unite all people under one language and one rule under the demigod. We study Genesis 9-10, the Noahic Covenant. God made his spiritual contract with Noah and all creatures on earth. His terms were to be fruitful and multiply, provide all things for food, and never flood the earth again. As a reminder to Himself, his Bow, i.e., rainbow, was a sign of His covenant in the clouds. The wicked continue to mock God by stealing His rainbow as their symbol of Pride and depravity. God is not mocked. Bible study of Genesis 6, the Sons of God sin against God to marry earthly women. These fallen angels lusted after beautiful women, born of Adam and Eve. The women who married them willingly participated in upgrading their lives with handsome angels who were the great men of that day. Their offspring created the hybrids Nephilims. This sin of disobeying God multiplied great evil and violence on the earth, where God had to destroy all creatures with the breath of life. All life was corrupted genetically and spiritually, having corrupted hearts. The Nephilims were referred to as giants and renowned men of that day. They were taller and possessed superpowers than the average humans God created in Adam and Eve. These giants became the demigods of the old world, where the whole earth began worshipping the fallen angels and their offspring as gods. All the ancient gods described in various religious texts, like the Hindu and Greek demigods, were these Neplliums giants. As the hybrid human race died, their immortal spirits became demon spirits. These disembodied spirits could only experience their desires by possessing humans, unable to live eternally with God and unable to live in their own dead fleshly bodies. The fallen angelsโ sin was so great that God had to destroy all life. No sin will go unpunished.

We cover Genesis 4 and 5, a story of Cain and Able. Cain commits the first murder, as Able is the first death in the Bible to die from his brother's rage and jealousy. God rejected Cain's crop offering while accepting Abel's best meat offering from his flock. Why did God reject Cain's offering, and why did Cain commit murder? The Bible explains in later books that Cain's works were wicked and his spirit was of the devil, i.e., the serpent's seed. This is a spiritual condition where men do not repent of their sins but continue practicing them. Can you see where we are today, where sins abound and people accept their evil practices? Our Bible study continues with MrE of Genesis 3, discussing the story of Adam and Eve with Satan in the Garden of Eden. Satan seduced Eve through his lies that if she ate from the forbidden tree of knowing good and evil, she would surely not die. Eve contemplated that the fruit was good to eat, pleasing to the eyes, and would make her wise. She disobeyed God, knowing his first commandment that if you eat from this tree, you will die. Then she gave Adam the fruit, and he ate it. While Eve was deceived, Adam was not. He followed Eve in sin, knowing God's command not to eat it.

MrE is back to discuss Genesis, chapter two. Genesis 2, the story of humanity, starts with Adam and Eve on a young Earth. God personally created all life from the ground, dust, debunking that life came from a single cell in the waters. He said it's not good for man to be alone, where He created Eve to be a helper of Adam. Adam called her woman, flesh of his flesh, bones of his bones. Man is to leave his mother and father to become one flesh with his wife, establishing the gift of marriage and its priority to become a new family.

Recent violence erupted in Manipur, India, where Christian tribal conflicts with the Hindu tribes over land and special privileges. The government afforded affirmative action type particular classification to the Naga and Kuki Christian tribes called Scheduled Tribe. The Meitei Hindu tribe wanted the same rights and privileges as the Christian tribes were afforded. The Kuki tribe said no because they already dominated politics and had privileges, trying to infringe on their lands and rights. This is not a religious war but the usual conflict over lands and rights. The same war is happening around the world over land and property rights.

George Washington's vision and prophecy are relevant more than ever today. it also gives a key insight and hope into his vision to state:

What this says is that America will not be destroyed as prophesied by many so-called visionaries and prophets. He may allow tribulations to come, but God will keep his Word that as long as stars remain in heaven, America's Union will last.

My personal rant on Roe v. Wade decision. It's just a deception. It now allows each State to murder babies beyond what Roe v. Wade allowed under the Federal protection around 23 weeks. More evil will now propagate than ever before due to this decision.
