New Year’s Eve is officially upon us!
This is the time that a lot of us are reflecting on our past year – the peaks and valleys, what we accomplished, and what we could’ve done better.
Many folks adopt New Year’s resolutions for self-developmentin the year ahead, some do not wait until a new year to make personal changes, and some do not do resolutions at all.
One aspect of resolutions that can be frustrating for manypeople is the fact that they vow themselves to a change of habit on January 1st, only to fall-off of come January 31st. There is an interesting concept about how to have a better mindset about this and not be so hard on yourself. It is called the story of The Second Arrow, which I discuss in the first 4 minutes of the episode.
Whichever way you choose to ring in the upcoming New Year, Ihope these positive affirmations of honoring and thanking your past will help you step into the new year with a full heart and an open mind.
HAPPY NEW YEAR! Wishing you prosperity and good vibes in 2024, in your career and in your life.

In today’s world, we are witnessing a shortage of certainmedications that people are relying on for physical and mental health. One medication scarcity that is the limited supply of Adderall, which is negatively impacting folks diagnosed with ADHD.
Our society’s measure of success is based on how productive we are in our daily work. Naturally, this can make those whostruggle with mental health conditions, such as ADHD, have increased anxiety about their daily struggles. Impending deadlines and keeping track of multiple projects are difficult enough, let alone the fear of dealing with a boss or fellow colleagues who are not compassionate. This condition often carries a negative (and inaccurate) stigma of “laziness” or “lack of motivation.”
Lacey Reedy, an integrative health practitioner, is on the mic:Our conversation is around this theme of focus and concentration. Lacey is here to offer potential solutions for combating symptoms associated with ADHD, such as brain fog and inability to concentrate.
*While these are NOT considered a replacement to a prescribed medication (they are only appropriate as an integration into your existing healthcare), we highlight the importance of simple - but essential* - building blocks to keeping a strong mind and body, some of which we can overlook or neglect while taking a medication.
We focus on targeting the body and the mind, as well as helpful supplements and certain components in blood levels to discuss with your doctor - especially if you are finding that medications are not working for you, or your access to them is limited.
Even if you are not diagnosed with ADHD, we can all agree that this current world is extremely overwhelming at times, especially with so many things vying to grab and hold our attention! Some of these tips may resonate with/work for you, some may not - Take what works, and leave the rest. 😊
IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER: WE DO NOT SUGGEST that you disregard your healthcare provider’s professional advice regarding your prescriptions. The goal of integrative medicine is to INTEGRATE these practices into your existing healthcare, NOT replace them. The tips we offer are simple suggestions to try for yourself, and/or discuss with your doctor - They cannot count as a replacement of a medical prescription. WE ALWAYS RECOMMEND speaking to your doctor about any changes you intentionally plan on making to your health, both physically and mentally. We hope that this episode helps you facilitate thisconversation with your doctor and/or health practioner(s).
Big thanks to Lacey Reedy, for sharing your tips and compassion with us! Here are links to Lacey’s website, social media links, and a special project she is working on:

If you have ever harnessed the power of positive affirmations, you know first-hand how powerful they can be. But if you have never utilized them before, you can start here – especially if you feel unmotivated and uninspired in your daily work. Sometimes we can run into so many obstacles and work so many hours that we run into a rut like a brick-wall, and all of our passion feels as though it has vanished into thin air. Science proves that saying positive affirmations (even if you feel everything BUT positive) can actually cultivate a healthy, optimistic mind. It is normal to have down-periods in our careers, where we question what we are doing and why we are doing it. If you can relate to this in any way, please join me! Affirmations begin at 7:42. Did you know that slowing down can actually speed up your productivity? Instead of working in ‘autopilot’ and stressing out about that daunting “to-do” list, pausing and centering yourself helps you get back to work in a more productive way. We operate just like machines – we need rests and resets to continue working correctly! In this episode I give you some interesting statistics about workload and rest, and tips you can use for easing on the brakes when you find you’re moving too quickly. Join me near the end of the episode for a short meditation to help ease your body and your mind for a few minutes, and then you can get back to “the grind”, refreshed and renewed. Setting limits with others and with yourself is you being insubordinate or not a "team player", right? WRONG. It is perfectly okay to have and communicate your boundaries, especially to your superiors. However, it's still hard to set them, and enforce them - both with others, and with ourselves. This topic seems to be talked about often, in reference to interpersonal relationships in romantic, family, and friends...but not so much in the workplace, especially for those who are considered an employee. This episode will delve into some tips that you can take to implement in setting boundaries in your career, and overall help you achieve a better-work life balance, no matter what your position is, or what kind of work you do. Thanks for joining for the 4th episode, which is another interview! I had this interview with my friend, Zach Carlson, near the end of Pride month. Zach is a scientist who discusses his perspective of the navigating the working world as part of the LGBTQ community. We discuss allyship, especially in the capacity of how they can assist with stopping microaggressions from other coworkers. We also discuss how employers need to prioritize team-building activities (both inside and OUTSIDE of work), in regards to creating workplace connections that would not have normally occurred otherwise. Lastly, we touch on how we can overwork to compensate for lack of control in our personal lives - not only in-relation to being in the LGBTQ community, but also as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic, which we can all relate to. I'm so excited to release my third episode, which also includes my first interview! Even better, we are talking about navigating being LGBTQ in the workplace - what better topic to address during Pride month?!
In this episode, I interview Chavala Ymker (they/them), who is a young professional in the Grand Rapids, Michigan area. Chavala talks about their personal experiences of navigating being an LGBTQ person in their first professional role, and touches on their positive and negative experiences through the lens of a non-binary person.
We also have discussions regarding experiences in changing pronouns in a workplace setting, and how being part of the LGBTQ community can lead to feelings of Imposter Syndrome in one's career. We also discuss how we can make strides towards the workplace being a more inclusive place for everyone, and how our allies - both employers and coworkers - can help in achieving a more diverse and inclusive setting for all.

Have you ever felt inadequate in your workplace? Have you ever had thoughts of “I’m not sure what I did to belong here”, or do you attribute your accomplishments to luck? Do you constantly set the bar higher for yourself to the point of overworking? If you answered Yes to any of these questions, you might suffer from Imposter Syndrome.
Just know: You’re not alone. People who are considered well-known and experts in their line of work still deal with feelings of being a fraud, and it’s largely responsible for our society placing self-worth on productivity and achievement. These feelings can be exacerbated if you had a parent or guardian who seldomly praised you, or if you are a part of a community of people who are underrepresented – whether that be in a workplace setting, a hobby, or something else.
In the first part of this episode, I will delve into what Imposter Syndrome is and who experiences it. The second part, I will lead a short, guided meditation that focus on how to be with these feelings and not have them overtake you.

Thanks for joining me on Episode 1! This episode is all about my inspiration to start this podcast. I believe we have a global problem of being overworked. An overwhelming amount of people report feeling burnt-out, anxious, and depressed; most of it is revolved around their careers. Many employers do not respect boundaries, and they continually prioritize continuous work and productivity above all else - especially people's personal health and wellness. What is even worse is that a lot of cultures actually glorify overworking and burn-out, and many people wear it as a badge of honor (especially in the United States). This issue is literally killing people (scientific evidence proves it - there are 750,000 people who perish from stress-induced illnesses each year, directly related to the workplace). Unfortunately, I know the feeling of burn-out all too well. I will be delving into my personal battles with corporate America and how it negatively affected my physical and mental health. I will also be talking about how I discovered and explored meditation and spirituality during one of the darkest and most draining times in my professional career, and how I gathered the strength to finally say "enough is enough" and make some drastic changes in my life. We can so easily fall into a trance with our careers. It is no wonder that so many people do, because we are constantly bombarded with this "hustle-and-grind" culture that treats people like machines, constantly raising the bar and wanting more from us. The carrot of success, validation, and money is dangled in front of us...but all of those come at what cost? Meditation is all about being present, recognizing and regulating negative emotions, and becoming more in-tune with ourselves and others. It can help snap us out of trance in our personal lives, so why not apply it to our work lives? Join me now and in the future for conversations around this topic. We will discuss topics surrounding workplace anxieties and how to remain present in a difficult work atmosphere. I will also occasionally introduce guided meditative reflections to promote a fresh headspace for attaining a healthy work-to-life balance.
