In this episode, Bruce goes solo and unpacks the September Holiday of LABOR DAY. We are often going so fast in life that we feel hurried, too busy, worried about the outcomes, anxious about the process and stressed about everything. What is being reluctant? Why are we reluctant? What causes it? Most importantly what can we do to diminish, overcome it and thrive in our purpose? How can we learn to take action despite the situation and circumstances? Over 750,00,000 people on the planet do not have access to clean water and close to 800,000 die each year due in part to this lack of clean drinking water. 300,000 of these deaths are of children under the age of 5 years old. Dave (who Bruce and Heather met a few years ago as separate guests on his podcast called "Exercise Your Faith" ) has retired from his teaching career in California and joined forces with Bucket Ministries, an organization combining providing both clear water as well as the GOSPEL and good news of Jesus Christ to those lacking both. Unpacking SHERPA. Have you ever needed a guide to help you get somewhere? Maybe to a new place, maybe out of trouble, maybe to elevate your performance at work in a sport or activity, Do you remember the experience? was it good? hard to ask? If the guide said yes, how did they make you feel during the "Guidance"? Safe, accepted, free to learn, or belittled, as you should already know. Did you feel embarrassed for asking? I bet one thing for certain, you remember how you felt. Am I right?
Now flip the switch, have you ever been asked to help someone with an issue that you excel in? (social media, technical skills, something in the arts? ) How did you treat that person?
This isn't a judgement piece, but merely a question to reflect on.
The SHERPA is a guide who is responsible for taking climbers to the summit of a mountain safely, with much of the heavy burden on their shoulders, responsible for camp, food, shelter, and provision for safety. The climbers get all the credit, the SHERPAS are responsible for the success and blamed for the failure very often.

In this Episode, Bruce and Heather unpack and discuss the word MIRROR. What are the first thoughts/emotions when we think about looking in the MIRROR?
Frightening, difficult? Opportunity, evaluation? What is it reflecting? Do we like what we see, not just physically but also, who we see?
Do we compare? Do we say WOW I'm unique? How does this change our emotions and our confidence? Are we excited or disappointed?
Can a MIRROR be a figurative Reflection point? Can we take inventory of where we are and use the response as a way to tweak and improve or change course? All difficult questions for sure, but starting an assessment (including both celebrating and seeing areas we want to grow) is key to transformation.

In this episode, we speak with Julio Soto, a dear friend from Puerto Rico. Julio and I met during the pandemic virtually via Zoom gatherings. First through In His Grip Golf Ministries, then the Rise and Grind community. Quickly Julio's selfless passion for helping people attracted and inspired me. You know, we are on our journey and God puts others on our path for HIS reasons and then gives us the opportunity to link and grow together. Wow, what amazing growth I have experienced by being around Julio Soto for three short years. In the Fall of 2022, we had the opportunity to visit and share a meal together in our Atlanta home. Such a pleasure to know someone in the digital world then to meet them in person. An added joy was meeting his wife Nancy, daughter Karla and family friend Nancy as well.
Julio chose the word IMPULSE to unpack. Before researching IMPULSE, my mind immediately went to IMPULSIVE. I questioned why this would be the word for a man who is so intentional in his actions and completely focused on finding and doing God's will in his life. Upon further research, I found meaning in the following definition:
IMPULSE: a driving force or impetus. Next I researched impetus, a "force that makes something happen".

Jenny had a personal battle in 2006 with a rare and aggressive cancer called Cholangiocarcinoma, giving her only a short 6-12 months left to survive!
Thriving against many odds, not only did she survive and thrive, it changed her entire life and career! She had previously been 14 years in Pharmaceuticals and a Regional Manager. After her miraculous healing from cancer, she left the corporate world to serve children with cancer. Then, she became an accidental Cancer Coach to adults!

Ever feel stuck, not moving forward, in a holding pattern that seems to be going nowhere? Kind of like a pond that has no movement. It can be piling up with sediment and algae forming. Late at night mosquitoes can appear. Just seems stopped and clogged; not moving and feels stifling. We can feel this way as well, An uncomfortable feeling that can create anxiety, angst, fear, and nervousness. Even though we are not moving, all can feel out of control.

Three years and 780-weekday posts ago today, Bruce began posting a daily Mindset Message to stay connected to his friends, clients, and family when the Covid 19 epidemic closed off personal in-person contact. He has written and shared a message of encouragement each weekday morning. Through his social posts, emails and private text groups, his inspired messages have made 5.85 Million touches across the globe. When asked about this Bruce merely says, "if we impact just one person with a positive message, the effort is worth every moment of work."
