Hi Everyone, I'm Andi Paulin, host of The Out Spouse Podcast. I created this show to offer support and optimism through stories, truth and authenticity and to build a community for those going through a divorce, have been through a divorce or are maybe thinking of filing for one. Recording this podcast four years into my own divorce seems unimaginable, but honestly, it's been therapeutic. There's been highs and lows and the fear, uncertainty, and isolation and loneliness that I have experienced is like what so many of you have experienced too. I wanted to sit down with friends and professionals and keep it real about the struggles along the way, sharing stories and advice to the invisible bruises that so many of have suffered at the hands of those who seem more powerful and controlling. Being in a relationship with a difunctional spouse becomes manageable for survival but then trying to unwind yourself and possibly you children too can be emotional draining. We live in a culture where's there's a stigma about being a divorced woman and divorce inequity and inequality is just to be expected. There's this expectation is society that hinders our sexuality and empowerment. I wanted to ask the questions to understand the answers about why and how this occurs and how not to let these challenges define who we are. What I've learned is to talk, share and remain focus because ultimatley we get to design the life we love and choosing self love over fear is absolutely worth it. This first season we discuss the challenges faced, how to become empowered, adjust your perspective, allow yourself grace and create a life you love. Chatting with others and listening to their stories reminds me that we are not alone and your owe truth and reality is what matters most. Hang on for tomorrow because there will always be more good days than bad! I hope that by sharing these stories we can redefine what divorce looks like and provide support and inspiration for you or a loved one.
